Iweb on Lion made my internet router crashes!

So I bought a brand new Lion 10.7.2 computer with of course no iweb on it.
As far as I have the ilife 11 package, I reinstall ilfe and iweb was working correctly. Good.
My problem starts when i decide to publish using FTP and my ftp provider obliges me to put the web in a specific folder (I cannot put it on root) and suddenly when trying to publish, it makes my internet crashes!
I tried several times and always the same result. I also tried at a friend house and the same happens. FTP publishing using iweb on Lion makes internet crashes !!!!
I look everywhere but didn't find anybody with the same problem..
My computer is brand new (no garbage).
I know that a workaround would be to publish in a local folde and after to use cyberduck for publishing but I really want to avoid a unecessary step...
Anyone got a clue?
Thanks

Ja ja! I hope I'm not responsible for all internet crashes in the world!
I've always published with no problem on Snow Leopard using the iweb FTP. iWeb FTP is very useful and quick: If I change just a coma, it will upload only this file. Publishing in a local folder obliges me to know which pages I changed, to select them and to upload them manuallly. And my problem is deeper: I would like to know what's happening. It's a brand new computer and it stops my internet when iweb publishes... That's a little bit scary...
These two reasons explain why I want to discover what's happening...
About webhoster, sorry I didn't explain well (english is not at all my language..) : during my searches on internet I read that somebody was saying that there was a bug in Lion when publishing in a subfolder of your domain provider. That's why I'm mentioning that I'm publishing in a subfolder. I meant that some provider let's you publish on root and you don't have to write a name in the "directory" field of iweb FTP. In my case I wanted to mention that I have to put a name in the "directory" field of iweb FTP. I'm not complaining against my provider, I just want to give all the details to explain my problem.

  • Router crashes after starting app

    Hello,
Can anyone help me with the following problem:
I have an app (Ruzzle) on my iPad. It's a simple game, nothing fancy. But when I'm at home connected true WIFI and I start this app, my router crashes. Everytime after approx 5 seconds when I start this app my connection is lost on every device which is connected to this router (iPad/iPhone/Computers). When I play this game in an different environment (which has an different router) I do not have this problem. When I use other apps which require internet connections there is also no problem.
This app originally is an iPhone app which I also have installed on my iPhone. However when I play it on my iPhone there is no problem.
Anyone has any idea what the problem is?

i made some changes, but nothing that would or could cause this. And besides according to my collegues its not a recent problem (before i joined the company), it goes back at least a year or more...but ofc. since router is working fine untill you try to show the config noone bothered to resolve the issue they just kept their hands off it -.-

  • Onscreen (Popup) notifications when connection is made to internet

Can anyone please tell me how to disable the onscreen "popup" type notifications that the Linksys system displays each time the router makes a connection to the internet?  These notifications are very, very annoying and always come on and block out some part of whatever is being displayed on the bottom right of the screen. When they occur, it states that "Connection made on internet connection 6, or 5, or whatever number the connection is made on.  Sometimes it simply states "Internet Connection Made".  Then when I "X" out the message block to get it off the screen I sometimes lose whatever was being displayed on the entire screen.  I hope I've described this so it can be understood because I'd really like someone who has experienced this to help me get rid of it.  I've used everyone of Linksys' faq, email help, and other "customer service" aids and none of them work. And since Linksys does not offer CS one one one help like other companies, this makes solving the problem even more frustrating and difficult.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank You In Advance, and I'll send you an apple if you can help me

Thanks for the help.  But, I have installed all kinds of hardware and software on this computer and if I uninstall all of that my entire system would shut down and probably just roll over and die.  As far as contacting either the hardware or pc vendor, they'd just laugh and thank me for doing all of that work for them.

  • My router crashes at the sight of my macbook.!! I have to keep them well separated

    Hi
I live in France and have a Orange router for wifi with 2 laptops, my MacBook and a Sony Vaio.
The router crashes whenever I approach it with my Ipad Or Mac. It works fine. It hates Apple?  I am constantly resetting. Both laptops  state that there is an IP conflict. My mac is designed to adapt to that...?
Can you suggest action please?  Merci

You may have to see if it is fairly easy to set up wireless by hardware identification number, commonly referred to as 'mac address' in DHCP in router server; which has nothing to do with Apple, as all hardware can use their ID to connect. Including printers so equipped. This is usually done by ethernet or wireless, and imparts a greater degree of security at your home base for those items you have. Is there something there that is repeating or re-sending the wireless signal,  perhaps on the same frequency as the router? Channel numbers can be changed, for example, if there are two. But there are more complex things to consider if the matter is worse, and so far there is no explanation for this conflict. The MacBook and Sony should be able to use the same wireless router base station.
How is file sharing and internet sharing set up on these competing devices? This can be a place to look.
    •Cascading router and DHCP conflicts?
    http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/44038-42-cascading-router-dhcp-conflict
In an area a bit more complex, the matter of IP Conflict, this one when moving between wi-fi router and repeater, is among the more difficult: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/38238-43-conflict-moving-wifi-router-wifi-repe ater This may not be what is happening with your competing wi-fi products, but that matter of settings, since you can share files, and also web connections through the Apple products. As an option.
Other router conflicts are noted, from a larger volume of search results:
    http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/27902-43-router-conflict
Also, it may be a matter of choosing how the MacBook connects to the available wireless, and what those wireless settings are in the router, and if the MacBook shares an internet connect to another product, that could be a source of conflict if not set up correctly. Something may be seeing a third product as a competing source of a potential wi-fi connection to the internet, and it isn't.
Some of these things have a dynamic IP address (changes) and another could be using fixed IP addresses. The router 's should be fixed. All of mine are and I can use four Macs, or more PCs via an Apple branded wireless router.
There are several possibilities, and most difficult to guess at a distance. But the settings in each brand and item have to be looked into, as they all have the ability to be customized to fit certain working parameters.
Not sure if this helps any... at 2AM.
    Good luck & happy computing!

Hey mY Macbook pro causes the internet to crash as soon as i connect, yet other devices run fine on it. the router is a belkin n but the whole network goes down when i connect. help would be appreciated

It sounds like something is wrong with your router. I suggest you try another one.

  • No iweb in lion

how do i get iweb in lion? it s not a available standard programm. somebody know how to get it?

iWeb is end of life as far as Apple are concerned, the only route to it is to get an old iLife disk. The good news is that it does work in Lion if you can get it.

  • WRT150N router crashing

Hello my router has been working fine up until this point and ive had no complaints however as of recently ive been working on hosting a SRCDS dedicated server on one of my PC's and after running the server for awhile (anywhere from 10-30 minutes) the router will lock up all internet connections wired and wireless and i have no connection.  When this happens the linksys advisor tells me that a new router has been connected and wants to walk me through setup again but obviously its the same router.  The only way to fix this is to unplug the router for about 5 seconds and plug it back in.  Im wondering if their is a way to prevent the router from crashing like this as it would be impossible to host a server with router crashes every 30 minutes.
    Thank you

Let me know who is your Internet Service Provider so that i can tell you few manual steps .....

  • Internet Keeps crashing (due to a Mac?)

Our internet is crashing regularly and has been doing so for the entire year that we have lived in the house. We have laptops, Xbox’s and PS3's so we previously assumed it was because of high demand that the modem it couldn't cope with. However, we have been here for four weeks without a single crash which is uncharacteristic of the usual service which crashes 2-3 times an hour and needs resetting. We contacted BT who ensured us that the line is fine
The only thing that has changed since the last four weeks to today (where the crashes are back up to 3 per hour at least) is that one person has connected their Mac laptop to the internet.
Does anyone know a reason that this is causing it to crash and any possible fixes?
    Thank You.

Just a hunch ... are you using WPA or WPA2 security, or a mixture of both?
You might improve reliability in a mixed environment if you stick to just WPA or just WPA2.  Some older hardware has do to WPA2 in software, and that can cause problems.  Try setting your router to WPA (only) and see how you get on.
My preference is to always set the router/AP to WPA2 only when viable due to "Michael"

  • The growth of the internet routing table + LISP

I have been challenged with the task of putting together a 15-20 minute presentation of how I might go about solving the problem of the growth of the internet routing table.
If I am understanding the question correctly - as the internet grows so will the number of IPv4 and (moreso) IPv6 prefixes that appear in the global internet routing table. This will mean that the PE and P routers in a Service Provider network will find themselves having to deal with more prefixes that will in turn increase the possibility of bogons interferring with proper routing and increase the load on the routers themselves.
Besides being a very open ended question, I am trying to look at it from the perspective of a Service Provider (whom I work for) and have come up with the following options (admittedly this is only after a quick google on the topic):
    > Improvise in the short term by adjusting CAM table allocation
    > Use selective hearing by filtering prefixes that are not important
    > Use external assistance like LISP and DNS
    > Spend Money and upgrading existing routers to handle the load
Obviously with only a 20 minute window I cannot talk about much and I would like the options to be innnovative and interesting. LISP seems like an interesting option and I would like to learn about it - however I am having trouble tracking down resources that give a basic introduction to exactly what and how LISP works (every time I try and search for it a get pushed to sites talking about the programming language ).
So this leads me to two questions:
    1. Is there anything important, vital or interesting that I have not included in my quickly put together list above.
    2. Is anyone aware for a good site/resource that explains LISP from a beginners/tutorial-type perspective.

Music is not included in the backup (and nor are films or tv shows), only the contents of third-party apps are included. Did you not do File > Transfer Purchases when connected to your computer's iTunes to copy your iTunes purchases over, and/or have you not got a backup copy of your music somewhere e.g. on an external drive ?

  • Internet Radio crashes every 10 min. after update

There are a few questions in the Support database that match this behaviour, but they are from 2012, so here it is again ...
Just updated AppleTV yesterday (Sept 20, 2014) to iOS 8 update, and now Internet Radio crashes (any and all streams I pick), after ten minutes.  This is really ******* maddening given that Netflix and Internet Radio is all I use the thing for.  It's easily repeatable, and it's always 10 minutes, (possibly that's all that's in the buffer).
There is nothing on the web about this, nothing I can find anywhere but here and as I said, all that's here is mention of the exact same problem happening in 2012.
For the record:  All software up to date, (except Yosemite isn't out yet), hardware is latest revision, all the latest expensive Apple gear being used etc.

Indeed.  The silence is deafening (and really poor form).
Anyone in the service industry knows that a simple, "Hey, I hear you and we are looking into it" goes a lot further than stoney silence.  I'm really ****** at Apple this year, I thin they are finally losing it.
Yosemite really screwed up a lot of things on my computer as well, it's really quite full of bugs.  It actively changed some of my settings without my consent, and despite it being a tricked-out 2008 Mac Pro with a 30" cinema display that collectively cost me about $6000, quite a few of the new features simply aren't supported (AirDrop, Messages integration, etc.) and performance has slowed to a crawl.  They actually have a start up progress bar now like Windows used to, because the start up is so frigging slow, you'd think the computer was dead.  This, with a super-hot graphics card, 16GB of memory, 4TB of drive etc.
I was also going to switch to a new iMac this year (2008 was a long time ago after all), but now with the new 5K model, I have to pay almost $4000 for that, when I'd rather have a non-retina one, and rather have a 21" one than a 27".  Sadly, all these options are denied to me, for no other reason than "that's the way Apple does things."
    Bah!

  • How set up  macbook  pro Internet router?

how set up  macbook  pro Internet router?

But isn't the MacBook Pro connected to the modem and being used as the router? You can only share an Ethernet connection wirelessly. You only check the box to share the Ethernet connection to Wi-Fi. Do not check any of the other boxes. You select Ethernet from the dropdown menu as the connection you will share. Your preferences should look like this:
The only difference will be that yours will show just Ethernet, not Ethernet 1.
