Iweb page size to avoid have to right left scrolling

What do I do to prevent the left to right scrolling on some monitors so everyone can see the whole web page?

Left to right scrolling only occurs when your site is too large. What is the width of your web pages?
Apple suggest around 980 pixels as the width which fits best in most screens and mobile devices.

    The viewport on a computer is adjustable by the user. iWeb sets the viewport width to the page width that you chose in the layout menu. No matter what the end user does, the page width is static and a reasonable compromise for the width of a web page that will be viewed on these devices is 980 to 1024 px.
    Safari on iOS devices cannot set the viewport. The viewport on mobile devices is fixed and its width depends on the orientation of the device. The iPhone in portrait mode has a viewport width of 320px. This means that the 980px wide iWeb built page will be squashed down to about one third of its desired size making it unreadable and difficult to navigate.
    Setting the viewport meta tag so that width equals the device width is a futile gesture since Safari on iOS will do that anyway. Its only useful if you add some initial scaling like...
    <meta name = "viewport" content="initial-scale=0.7">
    In the case of a 980px wide website, the initial scale is about 0.3 so any value higher than this will magnify the initial view of the site.
    Here's an example of a 980px wide page that has been given and initial scale of 0.7 which allows an iPhone user to see one column of a two column layout...

  • Right - left  scroll in editor makes mouse jump randomly when trying to copy and paste

    Hello,
    Please see attached screen and the red are in bottom right corner
    A right and left scroll bar keeps appearing, I have word wrap turned on. The scroll is very tiny, and I can make it temporarily go away by playing with the widow width, but it always jumps back.
    Why this is irritating is because when i try copy and paste text, it makes the view jump to top of page. How can I make it so it never has a right and left scroll ever!

    Good day!
    use arrow key to move object around but can only do up/down and right left and not foward and backward.
    What do you mean?
    Could you please post a screenshot to illustrate the issue?
    While Photoshop has accumulated 3D features with the last few versions it is originally a 2D image editing program and for a basic Layer there is no »forward« and »backward« (save for the Layer Structure as indicated in the Layers Panel).

  • Iweb page sizes?

    Why doesnt iweb allow me to change the size of my page. i have gone onto the inspector, clicked on 'layout' and typed in the figures in the 'content height' bar and pressed return but no changes. what has happened?

    You need to turn on "Show Layout"  Shift-Command-L  to see the changes.
    The quick way to lengthen a page is to drop a text box into the content area and drag downwards...

    While we all have MacBooks in this forum not all of us use iWeb. There's a iWeb Support Community where everybody uses iWeb. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.

  • Firefox 4 doesn't allow me to scroll the page even though I have autoscrolling and smooth scrolling ticked in Tools Options Advanced:General. Can this be fixed?

    After updating Firefox to Firefox 4 I cannot use my page scrolling in the browser. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad and use my Trackerpoint for scrolling. All other applications work fine with the Trackerpoint. Can someone fix this or tell me what I need to do to enable scrolling?

  • Document page size in inch at the bottom right

    how to disable & hide & remove page size pop ups at the bottom left.
    You should open pdf and mouse over at the bottom left and you should see little pop ups which says something similar to "8.5 x 11.0 in".  Now do you understand me? if not hover the mouse over again to the bottom left when opened a pdf document.
    Do you remember my question at the first line? if not then read again. There is how to question.

    Hi Sirius,
    I like your faking style!
    Go to Edit->Preferences ->Page Display
    Set the 'Always show document page size' to enabled (checked)
    This will now stop the popup from displaying and the page size will now be a permanent display at the bottom left

  • Customizing page size and layouts

    Three topics:
    CUSTOM PAGE SIZE.  There have been lots of requests for the ability to set custom sizes.  One "easy" way would be to create page margins in the same way that padding allows cell margins.  This way, a user can create (for example) a 10.5x9.5 "page" on a 12x12 platform.  Particularly for those of us printing our own, it's one way to allow customization.  All of the built-in layouts would then have to be scaled to fit within the page margins.
    If this is done, the next logical extension would be to add a few common paper sizes to the Book Settings.  This way, a user could create virtually any page size.  For example 14W11H on a 13x19 sheet.
    COPYING LAYOUTS.  Would also be great to "copy-paste" layouts.  After I pick a starting layout and then adjust cell padding, move captions, change fonts, and so forth, I'd like to replicate that elsewhere.  In fact, I'm trying to create a left-page/right-page 11x11 on the 12x12 platform using cell padding, and it would be great to copy my customized "left-page" layout to all the left pages.
    HIGH-QUALITY PRINT YOUR OWN.  I've not yet tried printing via exported pdf on my local printer.  Will it be as high resolution and as well color managed as if I printed directly from the Print module?  I use icc profiles (some from vendors, some custom created) specific to each paper.  I've now spent a lot of time narrowing choices of dual-sided paper to print my own books and I don't want to lose that capability.

    Printing from the exported PDF. The quality I get is exactly just as good as printing any file directly.
    I have two methods but they are for my Mac system, but I guess you can interpret them if you are on windows.
    1 Set the desired parameters for the PDF in the book module (quality, profile to embed etc) and export to a folder
    2 import into Photoshop and adjust the parameters if necessary
    In Photoshop "save as" whatever file you wish which you can then print normally from PS or else import into LR and print with profiles from there
    3 Printing from the PDF by opening in Adobe Reader, setting Page Setup and then "file-Print"
       In Mac choose your paper preset, and under Copies and Pages drop down menu you can find print settings (color adjustment "off" etc.) and under color matching on Mac I choose Color Sync, and "Other Profiles"
    which shows me all my custom paper profiles
    Sorry for the long post
    Another simple way on the Mac is to <right click> or <Control click> on the PDF file and choose "Open with Preview" It's important to choose the correct color profile in the Book Module before exporting to PDF so that the correct profile is used in Preview

  • Custom page size in Illustrator CS6 and CC

    Hello,
    send video with error Illustrator CC, which is not renewed custom page size. I have to click to another page and then back up to the size of their own.
    In Illustrator CS6 it worked.
    More can be seen on video here: http://screenr.com/3lxH
    Perhaps the developers will notice and correct the error. Gradually I will send videos with the latest Illustrator's mistakes than the older versions.

  • How to convert DWG to PDF 8.5x11 page size? using VueBean.convert()

    I am able to convert dwg files to pdf files. The dwg can be very large in size (example: 32" x 42"), but I need the pdf output to fit an 8.5" x 11" page size. I am using the VueBean object and the VueServlet to perform the conversion. I am using the  VectorConvertOptions to set the conversion options but no matter which options I try I can't get the output to fit 8.5" x 11" page size. I have tried varying the scale factor but that doesn't seem to affect the ouput at all. Can anyone tell me which options will get the pdf output to fit 8.5" x 11" page size? Maybe its a matter of scaling but I can't seem to figure it out. Please help.
       VectorConvertOptions opts = new VectorConvertOptions();
                opts.setStepsPerInch(1);
                PAN_CtlFileInfo fi = vueBean.getFileInfo();
                PAN_CtlRange ps = vueBean.getPageSizeEx();
                if (fi.getType() == PAN_CtlFileInfo.PAN_DocumentFile) {
                ps = fi.getPageSize();
                opts.setInputRange(ps);
                opts.setArea(ConvertOptions2D.AREA_EXTENTS);
                opts.setPageSize(1);
                opts.setScaleType(ConvertOptions2D.TYPE_SCALE);
                opts.setScaleFactor(200);
                opts.setWidth(Math.abs(ps.width()));
                opts.setHeight(Math.abs(ps.height()));
                opts.setUnits(Constants.UNITS_FILE);
                opts.setPages(ConvertOptions2D.AUTO);
                opts.setFromPage(1);
                opts.setToPage(fi.getPagesNumber());
                opts.setFormat("PCVC_PDF");
                opts.setModes(PAN.CTLMODE_MONOCHROME);
                opts.setSubFormatID(0);
                opts.setFileName(fi.getDocName().toLowerCase().replace(".dwg",".pdf"));
                vueBean.convert(opts);

    This is not possible using the convert option. This is a product limitation. Another possibility would be to use the print options instead of the convert option.

  • Mavericks custom page sizes issue when printing

    Does anybody have a solution to why my custom page sizes are scaling my print jobs even though it is set not too?
    This issue has only occurred since i updated to mavericks 10.9.3. The page setups were the same ones i previously used without problem.
    Default page setups work correctly.
    I have tried recreating each custom page size but still have the same problem.
    I print mostly using adobe acrobat or adobe indesign. using indd files or pdf's
    I have installed all latest drivers and updates for my peripherals in case that was an issue. But no solution.
    If i cant sort a solution for this issue im gonna have to revert back and i dont want to do that.

  • Problem with too small page size using Java 2D Printing API.

    Hello,
    I have problem with resolution of printer using Java 2D Printing API. Despite my printer has 600 x 600 DPI, inside java.awt.print.Printable.print(Graphics, PageFormat, int) I receive page format with 600 x 840 page size.
    I have tried to set resolution using javax.print.attribute.PrintRequestAttributeSetand javax.print.attribute.standard.PrinterResolution, but with no result.
    Can anybody solve this problem?
    Regards,
    Karl.

    600 x 840 is a Point value; Point is defined as 1/72nd of an inch. Printers do have much higher DPI than this, but I believe that this DPI has to do with richness of the printed image, not an actual ability to color with that level of resolution. You might want to try calling zoom on your Graphics2D object. Otherwise, I don't know what else you can try.

  • Can doc properties be in sync with a page size change?

    I am using the manual.indt template with InDesign CS4, I made a page size change to the template and now the text boxes and everythng else are knocked out of alignment. I need the margins to be 'correct' in relation to the page size, just as they were with the original template. Is there a way to make a page size change and have all the elements within the template synchronize to the change?
    Thanx,
    Bill

    Layout > Layout Adjustment...
    If you enable this BEFORE you make a change, much of what you want will likely happen, but it is highly dependent on how frames are set on the page. If they touch guides, they move/change size with changes that affect the guides.

  • Creating PDFs - Page size

    We are scanning Docs as Jpegs at 150dpi resolution. When I try to create a PDF through AA 8.01 Prof effectively an A4 image is recognised as being A3. In Windows the file property shows the image to be at 96dpi. Has anybody come across this before? If I convert the image to 150dpi through paint shop pro Adobe then picks up the correct page size!!! Is this a Microsoft issue or what?
    Any advice would be very much appreciated

    Aandi,
    The number of pixels remain the same - Hence reducing the DPI increases the physical size when its converted to a PDF. The process is that scanned images are rotated etc... in software. We then run a create PDF program (Arts Import). Because we didn't realise that there were rogue images the resultant PDF showed pages that were bigger. This is no fault of AA its a fact of life that if the number of pixels remains the same, then differing DPIs will result in differing page sizes - Something I have learned today!!
    Thanks for your help but AA is not at fault - Its the step from scanned images to making them fit for purpose before creating PDFs
