IWeb pages export to Dreamweaver 8

so id like to know if i export my webpages to a folder, that i could import it to dreamweaver 8,,,,,, with all the links, photo album functions, blog and podcast
and then add google adsense and more through HTML,,,,, and how do i add the google stuff into dreamweaver 8,,,,,,,,,,,,,, can i just draw boxes and put the HTML into it or does it all have to be done with script because i hav no clue how to do that.... thnx ver much

If all you want to do is add simple HTML snippets into the code, like Adsense code or other javascript snippets.... you probably don't really to use Dreamweaver.... although Dreamweaver can open the page.html files just perfectly.
As far as getting your iWeb pages ready to be edited, you must first "reserve" the space on a page for your HTML element with a text box and then you will want to make it easy to find your textbox in the code by putting some easily recognizable placeholder text into the textbox. Here are the step-by-step directions...

  • How can I export iDVD into iWeb Page?

    I made a short DVD by sending iPhoto pictures to iDVD. Everything works fine: music, captions etc., but I cannot get it into my iWeb page. Is there any way now to export it to iMovie so iWeb can take it?
    Frank

    Frank:
    You need to export the slideshow from iPhoto to a Quicktime movie and then add that movie to iWeb. Did you export just the photos and add the music, captions, etc there?
    There are a couple of ways to add a movie to iWeb and avoid having the movie load while the page is loading: 1 - QT movies; 2 - Opening Movie in New, Specially Sized Window.
    The key is toexport out of iPhoto as a QT movie.

  • Export iweb page to photoshop

    I have drawn a business card in iweb. What is the best way, to preserve resolution, to export it into photoshop. So far I have used command-shift-4 and opened in photoshop. But, I need more resolution.

    Why not use the tool that's more suitable : PhotoShop
    Or a DTP-like app : iWork
    Anyway, if you copy the objects from the iWeb page and paste them to a new image from the clipboard, then the image is about twice the size of what you see in iWeb : 180dpi.
    The image will be one layer.
    If you copy the objects one at a time, then you have mulitiple layers.
    I use PhotoShop Element.
    Edit : If you print the page to pdf you'll get a 300dpi file.

  • Flash exported from Keynote and embeded in iWeb page not working in IE

    using the "html snippet" widget and swfobeject code generated here: http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?page=wizard I placed a swf file generated by Keynote in an iWeb page.
    It seems to work fine except for folks using IE in Windows. They get to the first page, but the "Next" link doesn't work. My problem page address is here: http://shortpoem.org/readings/Selected_Poems.html
    Can anyone help me see what needs to change?
    This is the generated code (I also tried using the html generated by Keynote and had the same problem):
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.jeroenwijering.com/embed/swfobject.js"></script>
    This text will be replaced
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var so = new SWFObject('http://shortpoem.org/readings/SelectedPoemsfiles/thoughts.swf','mpl','800','600','8');
    so.addParam('allowscriptaccess','always');
    so.addParam('allowfullscreen','true');
    so.addVariable('height','600');
    so.addVariable('width','800');
    so.addVariable('file','/upload/player.flv');
    so.write('player');
    </script>

    The code in your first post is not what you pasted in the Snippet.
    http://shortpoem.org/readings//SelectedPoems_files/widget0markup.html
    You simply exclude IE users.

    It's the nested object code you need.

  • Display data from CSV file in iWeb page

    Hi,
    I like to display data from a CSV file in iWeb page if a date value from CSV file matches todays value from the system. Here is an example.
    CSV data values
    01/20/2011,Sunny,87
    01/21/2011,Cloudy,100
    01/22/2011,Rainy,60
    If today's date value is 01/21/2011 the page should display 01/21/2011 Cloudy 100 in a tabular format.
    Appreciate your help in providing HTML code for this issue.
    Thanks

    I suspect there is a soft return in the excel database somewhere that can't be seen. Take the csv/txt file into notepad and look for a line that starts oddly compared to the others.
    I haven't had luck removing soft returns from excel files so I do this a rather odd way. I take the excel file into InDesign as a table, and then use find/change to replace any soft returns with nothing, then convert the text to table and then export the text out again by going export, and selecting text from the dropdown menu.
    For my money, I always save tab delimited text files from excel so that if a field does contain commas, it doesn't "trick" indesign into thinking a new field is beginning or not... instead the field delimiters are tabs and they are unlikely to have been used in the excel database.
    If you do choose to use this indesign import method of mine to clean up the database, i also noticed two things in your screengrab: first was that some fields have spaces at the start of the text... easy enough to fix with a GREP that looks for ^\s (start of a sentence followed by a space) and replace with nothing. The second thing is the T&C field that all entries (at least in the screengrab) all start the same – if all entries in the database start the same, couldn't that line be in the indesign file? Its only a small detail I know.

  • PDF document on iWeb page - Can't get hyperlinks to work

    I have dragged a .pdf file which contains working hyperlinks onto my iWeb page. The .pdf file displays properly but the hyperlinks are inactive. Is there a way to make them work? I do not wish to use an iFrame because I don't want the clickable links to open in the iFrame.

    Hi Old Toad,
    Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I understand. My PDF file, which originated as a Numbers table, contains a numbered list with hyperlinks to outside sites. I exported the Numbers document as a .pdf, then dragged that onto the iWeb page. I see that if it is being converted to an image, the links won't work once placed on the iWeb page. When I tried to use the iFrame widget from your site, here: http://web.me.com/toad.hall/Demo1/Scrolling_TextBox.html, the links worked but the URLs opened right in the frame. Is there a solution that will make the links open in another window given that my file is made in a Numbers file converted to PDF? Thanks much for your help and for all the great resources on your site....

  • How to integrate an page created in Dreamweaver

    I've created a site in iWeb. For my audio page I want to use a specific flash player that I could not get to work by merging it in my audio iWeb page (some conflict with one of the .js file). So my solution was to hack it. By that I mean I recreated the iWeb navigation bar in Dreamweaver so everything looks the same but now I need to change the links of my audio tab in the iWeb navigation bar (again my "hacked" page lives inside another fold in my audio folder and I can't move it.) So my question then is where are those links coded so I can updated them? I suspect it would be in one of those .js files but could not find anything that look like links in there.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated or a better solution if there is!
    cheers,

    One method would be to put your Dreamweaver page on the server and then link to it either thru a text based hyperlink or thru a dummy blank page in your iWeb site that has the name of the DW page you want to use. This will put your DW page in the navbar at the top of each iWeb page.
    In the blank page add the following code to an HTML snippet:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    parent.window.location = "URL TO DREAMWEAVER PAGE YOU WANT TO REDIRET TO"; </script>
    Thanks to Cyclosaurus for the code
    This will immediately redirect the visitor to that DW page when they click on the link in the navbar. To get back to the original site you will have to put a hyperlink in the DW page sending the visitor back to the desired iWeb page of your site.

  • Embed SlideShowPro for Lightroom in iWeb page?

    I would like to embed a SlideShowPro for Lightroom gallery in an iWeb page.
    Does anyone know if (and how) this would be possible?
    Previously, I have used Soundslides for making photo galleries - getting the embed code is extremely simple and embedding into an iWeb page takes seconds.
    SlideShowPro is proving to be far more difficult...
    Many thanks!

    From the description at [their site|http://slideshowpro.net/products/slideshowpro/slideshowproforlightroom] I learn that it publishes to a webpage.
    +You either export your slideshow to a folder on your hard drive then manually upload it to your web site+
    So you have a webpage you can display in the browser.
    If you want to display it inside a iWeb page, you have to use the HTML Snippet. Paste this line in it
    <iframe src="top.html" frameborder="0" width="100%" height="159" scrolling="no">></iframe>
    The src is the link to your slideshow page and the width and height depend on the size of that slideshowpage.

  • How do I insert a spreadsheet in a iweb page

    Is there a way to insert a spreadsheet in a iweb page?
    I need to insert a listing of names and addresses along with pictures for each line.  It is an officer listing with pictures for a club.

    Is the spread sheet in Excel?  If so then
    1 - export as an HTML page.
    2 - open the page with a text editor.
    3 - copy all of the text.
    4 - open iWeb and insert an HTML snippet in you web page.
    5 - paste the html page into the snippet.
    An example of that can be found on this demo page: Tables.

  • Indisign scripting and cross-media export - Xhtml / Dreamweaver

    Hi.
    I've searched for the solution but haven't found it yet. Hope you'll help me.
    I need to write a script which will transform all indd files in the selected folder to xhtml. But I cannot find methods for exporting files to xhtml in JS (like menu -> File -> Cross-media export -> Xhtml / Dreamweaver). Is it possible? how?
    P.S. Using CS3
    Thanks

    Thanks Olav, that would be very helpful if you could.
    You're right, and XSLT is what Java uses for the CS2 version of
    this project. We never used ExtendScript to do anything other than
    mapping styles to XML.
    I was hoping to avoid too many details, but this might benefit the discussion:
    Original need:
    We use an open source project called Sakai (Learning Management System)
    that comes with documentation which we rebranded every time a new release
    was rolled out. Our implementation of the Sakai LMS is called TRACS here at
    Texas State University|San Marcos and we have a pretty strong demand for
    consistentcy and adhering to project and university level branding guidelines.
    Our support staff was using word documents and spent a laborious 2 months
    minimum with their workflow getting everything migrated. Our branding needs
    were steep. I was the graphic designer at the time the brand was created
    and saw branding issues with the word docs being authored. We constantly
    fought issues with inconsistent formatting (logo placement, logo version,
    leading, fonts, etc.).
    Automation with ExtendScript was the answer (and Java, AppleScript).
    What took a variety of people with differing MS word skill sets 2 months
    now took a mere 5 minutes or less.
    Rough outline of our app:
    Our Java process looks at a watched folder and coordinates the automation
    with receipts that are written out after each phase is done.
    Our Word documents are formatted with identically named character
    and paragraph styles that are found in our InDesign template.
    Java grabs a list of all the word docs to be processed, writes out an include
    to be used later for our ExtendScript.
    ExtendScript systematically takes each one in the array:
    - takes care of flowing in the word doc
    - page numbering
    - mapping styles to tags
    - PDF export
    - XML export
    - XML cleanup (some trash comes over from the export)
    - XHTML generation
    - writes receipts at each phase to tell JAVA it's ready for
    the next phase as flow control
    Java picks up the receipt, transforms XML (using XSLT) to XHTML snippets that
    the end user copy/pastes into our Content Management System. Ultimately, we'll
    shoot for direct DB inserts, but we have to get the dust off the CS2 version
    before we can discuss that again.
    In regards to not using XSLT:
    A recent test we did showed that InDesign CS4 had the ability to export very clean XHTML
    based on style sheets applied to items in the document. Effectively, that negates our
    need for XML mapping of stylesheets and the use of XSLT.
    That is, if cross-media exports can be automated.

  • Iweb photo export?

    I lost some photos in iPhoto. But I found some photos in my Iweb pages. How can I export those photos back into Iphoto?

    Got it. Now........Iphoto library in the sidebar, at
    the top. Is that the same I photo library in the
    "LIBRARY" folder? In other words if I delete from
    the side bar..............are they gone?
    Ack!!!!! Yes, yes, and yes!!! Don't do it! The "Library" listing in the source menu is all of your photos. Here's a pic of it... I didn't know it was deletable, but don't try it.
    And second. To back up iTunes and iPhoto, which
    folders do l drag to the EXT. HD?
    To back up iPhoto... just open up any Finder window and you'll see a folder called "Pictures" in the sidebar on the left. Click on this and the folder will open and you will see the "iPhoto Library" folder. Drag this "iPhoto Library" folder to your external HD to backup all of your iPhoto pictures.
    To back up iTunes... again look in the sidebar of any Finder window and click on the "Music" folder. Inside this folder you will see a folder called "iTunes". Drag this folder to your external HD to backup your iTunes music library.

  • Best type of video files to post on iWeb pages?

    I am a teacher and I am posting Screencasts that I record of my lessons each day on my website created by iWeb '09. I have been exporting them as either .mov files or .mp4 files (both H.264) and playing them in a Flash "wrapper". I have been using a Flash "wrapper" thinking that more people have the ability to play flash than quicktime. However, what I have noticed on an old Mac Mini that my daughter has is that the H.264 files played within the wrapper tend to hesitate while playing. If I just "drop" the file in an iWeb page, it seems to play without the hesitation (on the old Mac Mini). (By the way...these files are mostly around 50-70 mb in size.) The problem is that most of my students have PC's and it seems that every year there are at least a few that have problems playing the quicktime files (which is why I went the way of the wrapper). Anyone have any advice on the best video for all?

    Terry Daniels wrote:
    Will an iPhone or iTouch play these files?
    Have you looked at the video playback requirements on the specifications page? You will find your answer there.
    The older MPEG-4 video codec would work with QuickTime 5, or higher, installed.
    In obvious terms this means that a computer (PC) that does not have Quicktime player installed will not play the MPEG-4 file.
    If you wanted to go that route you could encode a WMV file for PC users and a MPEG-4 file for Mac users then use a server side script to determine the users' browser and display the appropriate file. This method is beyond the scope of novice iWeb design, however.

  • What problems, if any, has anyone had by changing to iCloud with their iWeb pages?

    What problems, if any, has anyone had by changing to iCloud with their iWeb pages?

    The iWeb Application will still run after Mobile Me will be turned off; you can export your web pages to a folder on your hard disk and use ftp to upload the pages to another hosting service.
    The generated webpages however will refer to icons located on the mobile me server. To make the forward/backward arrows in slide shows work again you will have to patch the iWeb Application. See Old Toad's tutorial on how to do this:
    Modify the iWeb Application: http://oldtoadstutorials.net/No.26.html
    Also there is a nice tutorial on how to transit from Mobile Me to another service; see Roger Wilmut's page here:

  • I want to use an iWeb Slideshow in a Dreamweaver website

    Hello Group
    I am not an expert at html. I thought it prudent to get that out of the way.
    I have been asked by a friend to make a simple website for him. I have put it together in iWeb and he loves the results. However the fact that each page is a seperate document means common things (like a banner and navigation buttons) take a while to load of each page.
    I have decided to go down the frames route in Dreamweaver and used the iWeb output (png files as buttons etc) so that it looks the same to my friend.
    The only problem I seem to have is with the slideshow page. If i try and run the slideshow directly from the gallery.html page that iWeb produced it doesnt work. If I run the index.html page and then go into the gallery.html page (using the navigation link) the slideshow does work. However, when doing that I see the iWeb naviagtion in my main page below the dreamweaver banner which I do not want.
    So, I deduce there must be some code in the index.html page that controls the gellery.html page.
    Does anyone know what I can strip out thsi code or change something to make the gallery.html page work by itself independantly of the index.html page?
    Many thanks.
    Carl.

    So, I deduce there must be some code in the index.html page that controls the >gellery.html page.
    Nope, gallery.js & openSlideShowWindow.js control the slideshow.
    Would you provide the URL?
