Iweb pages gone after reinstall-but websites OK

I had to reinstall the OS fresh and it was backed up. However the only thing I lost was the iweb websites in the program. If I log into .mac account, the websites are still there and I can navigate to them on the web. So they are there and working properly.
Now I need to add some photos to these websites that I don't see in iWeb any longer. How do I do that? Can I export these pages into iweb? Can I download something from my .mac account?
What do I do? My wife is going to kill me!!!! Help. please!!

iWeb stores all of the files, images, movies and text in one package file.
Since you didn't back up the User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites2 file (a package) your online files can't be edited and you must recreate them.

CF10 App server running after reboot; but website unavailable until service restart

Hello, everyone.
I recently returned to a job I previously had after several months at a different job. Upon my return, I inherited someone else's dev system (my previous dev system, apparently, had been reimaged and given to someone else, after I left.)
This system originally had CF9 server on it (the ColdFusion9 folder is still here) and now has CF10. Using the built-in web server (no IIS, no Apache.)
Every time I boot/reboot the system, I can see in Computer Manage System that CF10 Application Server is, indeed, running. But if I try to open any of the pages that I am working on, I get an error message that the site can't be found.
I go into Computer Manage System, go to Services, right-click the CF10 Application Server, choose "Restart", wait for it to finish, and voila!, I can get a working page.
Does anyone know why this is happening, and/or how to remedy it so that CF will work immediately after boot/reboot without going to restart the service?

Good to hear you solved it. If you may still want to know exactly why that was causing an issue, I would propose something I didn’t yet see anyone else do: look specifically at the CF log called coldfusion-out.log. That is basically the “console log” when you run CF as a service, and it would be interesting to know what was in that log if you compared the startup messages in your working and failing examples.
The log tracks info generally for days if not weeks or months (depending on what else is logged in the file and how quickly it fills), but it may well give you insight into what was up. I’m not saying there WILL be something there. As Anit said, what you experienced was odd, but if there will be something logged anywhere about this, it may be there.
If nothing else, I leave this here for anyone else who has a similar sort of problem in the future.

Numbers, Pages etc gone after reinstall? I have to pay now?

Hello, I just reste my mac and used an Apple id that I had even before I purchased my new Macbook Pro Retina 15 in November 2013.
I had Keynote, Numbers etc all for free with Mavericks. After my reset its all gone? How and why?
Im so frustrated with Mac its ridicolous. Software errors etc with Mavericks forcing me to reset and now I los my Keynote etc?

FYI, iLife and iWork do not come with Mavericks or any other OS. They come bundled with the Mac, not the OS.
Upgrading to Mavericks should not have deleted the apps. If by reset you mean you erased the drive, then yes they would have gone away.
To get them from the App Store, you would need to use the AppleID you used originally to register the Mac.
I remember reading another post like this and the poster clicked on the purchase button anyway and it downloaded them for free. Either way, I'd contact the App Store.

My iWeb page works on Chrome but not Safari

Hello out there in Cyberland...
I need some assistance...My Site (which was created in iWeb 3) does not completely work in Safari but works like a charm in Chorme. My Blog Page "Projects" will load ocassionally but if you go back to it after viewing another page...all of the entries have dissappeared!!! I switched Safari to 32 bit thinking this would help...no dice...please assist me if you can.

IWeb all gone after "No saving of domain possible"

I created one more page in my existing site. iWeb refused saving saying "Domain could not be saved". I closed the iWeb. After opening, every page of my site is empty. On the iDisk one sees all the stuff, but how get it back?

Great, dear Edmond, because of the fast and - sadly - complete answer. What really would interest me, why APPLE did not change this? So many users complained the same stuff, but nothing! Obviously it is a mistake of the programme, because there is no other reason for this total crash with everything empty.
And the no-import, I really have problems to understand Apple's logic in this case. It is just causing many, many many hours of work to the user, and one never knows, when it happens the next time! Is there not even a possiblity to be safe, when it happens again?? I experienced this right in a moment where we had informed a lot of people to go there and have a look. Now I must set it up again in a hurry, and many people get already frustrated. (Yes, it is still there in the internet, but I detected yesterday first mistakes on one page (missing objects); and the necessary new page cannot be done, before everything works again.)

Application pages gone after database destroy / recreate / import

Hi -- Our DBA had to completely recreate the database in
which our APEX installation lives.
What he did was:
- exported the DB
- destroyed the DB
- recreated the DB
- reinstalled APEX
- full database import
Workspaces are there. Applications are there. Application shared objects are there.
But none of the applications have any pages.
Any idea what's up, how to fix it?

HI Scott - Yes, unfortunately, it's still a problem. The DBA said that after the initial database import, there were no grants for objects owned by SYS. When he tried to login to the admin area of APEX, he got these errors (recorded in the Apache error logs):

Our DBA had found something about this problem with respect to APEX 2. He wasn't sure if it applied to APEX 3, but re-installing APEX corrected the problem.

IWeb pages gone! - can I reload them back into iWeb from my iDisk folder

Hi,
I reinstalled OSX on my iMac (dont ask...) but I forgot to save any info from iWeb on pages that are aready published. I reinstalled OSX but now iWeb is empty but my web pages are still active and the whole lot is still in my iDisk web folder.
Obvious question coming up.... can I get the pages / folder re-imported into iWeb?

How to Change iWeb page themes after the page has already created?

Once you have created a page with a theme and saved it, and then later you want to change it to another theme... How does one change theme without recreating the page?
Also, How does one add background music to a page once it is opened?

I too am wondering about your first question, but I have found a workaround for your second question.
First save the audio clip as a mov file in quicktime, then place it somewhere on the page. Make it small and out of the way and hide ot from site.
Now publish the site. Then you will have to change the HTML. Open text edit and select "Ignore Rich Text Commands". Open the iDisk icon on the left and find the Web folder then follow this string Web/Sites/iWeb/<Your Site Name>/<then the page name folder, example: "Home_files">/then "Home.js"
Once opened find the quicktime file use the find feature it will list the properties twice, the second listings are the ones you want to change. Change controller="true" to controller="false". Then autoplay="false" to autoplay="true" and loop="false" to loop="true".
If you change that specific page and republish you will have to do this again, but only if you change that page. You will not if you rebublish and you had made no changes to that specific page.

Iphoto gone after reinstall and can't install it again.

I've reinstalled OS and after that iphoto and all the programs from ilife are gone.
I've only got an applications install disc (on the disc: time machine, mail, dock, facetime etc.)
I need to get my iphoto back can anyone help???

I recently tried and failed to upgrade my iBook G4 to Leopard. So I have reinstalled Panther anyway, with no issues and all is well - except AppleWorks appears to be gone! I did the reinstall from the 2 CDs i got with my machine. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I now have no word processor application on my iBook. could i download it from Apple?

I'm assuming you did an "Erase and Install" of Panther. Not surprisingly, it erased everything that isn't part of the OS. AppleWorks came bundled with certain machines, but was never part of the OS. The chances are very good that AW is on one of the two CDs that came with you iBook. If a little searching of the installer doesn't find it for you, I'm sure someone here will tell you how to find it. I don't have an iBook, so I don't know.
I now have no word processor application on my iBook.
You also already have a word processor on your iBook called TextEdit.

If you mean AppleWorks, then , no. But as I said, it is almost certainly on the install discs that came with your machine.

Iweb page doesnt show content but does when online?

Can anyone please help me?
When i open my iweb website, the home page is fine and all my other pages are fine. There are two pages that when i click to view or ammend them there is nothing there, i am unable to view nore change anything.
Now when i publish my site online and i vist my site i am able to view and see these pages, has anyone ever come across this problem & if so how did you get around it?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Are my bookmarks forever gone after reinstalling windows?

Had a lot of bookmarks never did a on firefox. Then I reinstalled windows 7 and naturally no bookmarks in new firefox

if you didn't back them up to your desktop then yea i'm pretty sure your bookmarks are gone.
you didn't back up your old profile either. that would've saved everything.
i'm not sure if you had a whole computer problem or just firefox. but if you reset firefox instead then that would've saved everything too but downloads/add ons/ toolbars.
unless someone else can find a way to get your bookmarks back they're gone.

Iphoto, imovie and iDVD gone after reinstall

I just reinstalled Tiger on my Flatscreen iMac.
Iphoto, iMovie and iDVD are no longer there.
What can I do to get them back?

How old is your Mac and is it used?
If your Mac is fairly old and the 10.2 disk that came with the computer was your original System Restore disk, then Tiger must have been purchased separately and Software Update was used later to upgrade to 10.4.10. But the Tiger upgrade would not have included any iApp's. Buying iLife '05 or iLife '06 would be needed to give you all the iLife App's. If you bought or received your Mac used, then someone did not include the Tiger and iLife software packages with it. If this is the case, the only way to recover your programs is to buy iLife.
If your Mac is fairly new, then your System Restore disks should contain Tiger 10.4.? and include all the iLife '06 App's. Again, if you bought or received your Mac used, then you may be missing the original System Restore disks that came with it. If this is the case, the only way to recover your programs is to buy iLife.
Either way, If you do not have a system backup, then the only way to recover your missing App's is to buy iLife. Also, if you want to risk losing Tiger 10.4, do not attempt to run the installation program from the Jaguar 10.2 disk.

ITunes Playlists gone after reinstall

I have reinstalled iTunes and lost my playlists. Where does iTunes store playlist information? I haven't synced my iPod to the new install yet, and it still has the playlists. Can I recover them from the iPod somehow?

It makes absolutely no sense that this can not be done without third party software. This indicates to me that apple has some kind of deal with these third party vendors to make extra money off functionality that should be included with iTunes.
Anyhow, what was done was a new install (not an update) of Windows 7. I did back up all the folders, but the old installation was in Windows XP and I'm not sure copying the whole install folder back over the new install is a good or proper idea. What particular files hold the iTunes playlist information, and I can try just restoring those files?

XE Database home page gone after APEX 3.2 upgrade

I just upgraded the version of HTMLDB/APEX on my XE database from 2.0 to APEX 3.2. All went well, however, the database home page seems to have disappeared. When I go to Start|Programs|Oracle Database 10g Express Edition|Database home page, I now get the APEX start page. Does the upgrade blow away the Database Home Page?

This is expected. If you decide to upgrade the Application Express within your Oracle Database XE, you will lose the Oracle APEX interface to perform some of your database management functions.
