IWeb pages slow to upload when you want to view from .Mac
I've finally uploaded by website. I intially had a website on Yahoo but loved the ease of use with iWeb. However, I do not like losing my domain name so I linked my new .Mac website address to my Yahoo site (www.inabindstudio.com). There is a link there to take you to .Mac. I've noticed that is takes a while to get the pages to load. You see HTML coding and then the page slowly builds up. I am not that tech savvy, so I need someone to tell me is this normal? How can I get these pages to load up faster? Hope this makes sense.

I also have noticed iWeb pages do tend to load a lot slower than websites built via other methods. This is true even when you host an iWeb site from somewhere other than .Mac.
From what I have read here in the discussions, the problem is in the kind of files iWeb creates to make the pages look really nice and uniform - they use a lot of PNG images. These are generally larger files than JPEG images, but many people agree the result is a better looking page. But the flipside of that, is that viewers with a slower connection speed will see the page load fairly slowly, and it can be very pronounced in some cases.
There's no good workaround right now. Hopefully in future patches and updates Apple can improve things. Its something that has been discussed on this forum at length. Errors in Version 13 (When you want generate transmittals from submittals)
Depending on definitions in PROJECT SETTING --> COMMUNICATION [TAB] you could generate automatically Transmittals from Submittals, but:
1- When you are filling Review Cycle [TAB] --> Revision [TAB] --> FORWARDED date [FIELD] in a submittal document, one Transmittal will be created in Transmittal Queue, the problem is: The receiver of this transmittal must be the person that is defined in Review Cycle [TAB] as receiver of Forwarded Transmittals, not the receiver of Sent Transmittal !!!!!
2- When you are going to create transmittals by using Distributions [TAB], the software would create two transmittals for each person in distribution list!!!
Do you have this problem with Version 13?

The transmittal created from Sent was TO the company assigned as Sent in the Submittal workflow and was FROM the company assigned as Submittal Coordinator.
The transmittal created from Forwarded was TO the company assigned as Forwarded in the Submittal workflow and was FROM the company assigned as Submittal Coordinator
This was as I expected. Please explain specifically what you are finding and how you expect this to work. -
Getting out of disk utility when you want to restore your Mac???
I wanted to restore my Macbook Pro early 2011, so I shut down my computer then turned it on and held down option. I got to the disk utility app but now I'm having second thoughts about restoring it. I can't get out of disk utility and get back to my homescreen... Any help? It's been irritating me a lot.
If you've erased everything, then you need to reinstall OS X:
Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless. -
How do you change the I'd on the log in screen when you want to update your apps and the I'd is wrong and the password is also wrong. HELP
Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap on the ID and sign out. Then tap on "sign in" and sign in with the correct account.

Yes, if both the Mac and iPad are setup using the same iCloud account, then any notes you enter on the Mac will be synced across to the iPad almost instantly.
Same occurs with the 1Password app I mentioned. If you have both the Mac and iPad versions of it, and setup either iCloud or Dropbox syncing, any passwords entered on the Mac will be synced to the app running on the iPad ready for copying and pasting. This would be the most secure method, but not the cheapest. -
Without touching the screen, 2 of my apps started shaking randomly. Not the kind of shaking when you want to delete/move the apps. It was odd. Any idea as to what that could be?
An "other" that large usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files. Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

Of course there is. There is with any computer system that you connect to the internet or transfers files to and from. When you run Windows on your Mac you increase the chance from zero that you will get a Windows based virus to virtualy the same risk as any other Windows user.
The weaknesses in Windows OS and applications are well trodden by virus and worm malcontents the world over. That doesn't mean that OSX is exempt though. All it will take is once and the entire Mac world will sit up and take notice......

Is it safe to give someone your iPhone serial number, when you want to sell the phone.... So they can 'verify' it?
Probably safer than giving them the IMEI number.

Claudius,either you didn't read my post, or you jumped to conclusions. I had a skype account that was created using a microsoft account (NOT THE ACCOUNT I AM USING NOW). PURE MICROSOFT ACCOUNT NO OTHER ACCOUNT LINKING.I had to change the primary mail of that account.I was told "no can do" by skype support.I found that if I went to account settings and clicked on the link on the line below the one that said "MICROSOFT etc" (labeled something along the lines of "TV or Device") I got the opportunity to set the password of the "live:username" account (WHICH YOU COINCIDENTALLY HAVE TO DO IF YOU WANT TO USE SMART TVs ETC).Once that was done, I COULD SUCCESSFULLY DO WHAT SKYPE SUPPORT SAID WAS IMPOSSIBLE- I could change the primary mail address. once that was done, and NOT BEFORE, I linked the account to a facebook account as well, just to be sure I have more than one way to access the skype account. To share content you need to share an ID for the iTunes and App stores, however, I'd suggest seperate ID's for everything else.

This issue can be caused by Facebook gadgets.<br />
You will have to check that out by removing each of them until you find the culprit.<br />
If you added or updated gadgets recently then start with those.
