IWeb passwords for Safari...

I have two iWeb password protected websites for my Daughters, however when I try to log into them from my iPad, Safari does not remember the username or passwords for either of the sites.
When I log into these sites from my iMac, I have no such problems with Safari.
Anyone have any ideas how to resolve this ?.

Easy fix, I think. Go to Settings, Safari, AutoFill, Turn on "Names and Passwords."
Now, not all websites allow the password to be remembered, especially banking sites. But this should work for you.

  • Need to set a password for safari

I would appreciate any assistance in setting a password with Safari.
    thank you

Actually you can set a password, but the way to do it is a bit awkward.
Set up a separate user account and then using parental controls, set limitations for Safari.
We did this for my son(teenager) so he could only be on the internet while we are home.
When he tried to access Safari and a few other applications, it prompts for the Administrator name and password to allow access.
    I hope this has helped.

  • HT5142 I just added Lion, but the autofill function does not seem to be saving my log-on information such as user name or password for Safari or Chrome

I have just switched to Lion. However the auto fill function for Safari and Chrome doesn't seem to work. Neither will remembers my user name or password.
This is also true for eBay and other sites I regularly use. What's wrong?

  • Saved Password For Safari in iOS Setting isn't Hash and it is showing the password

    Hi,

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu initially showing Kind. From that menu, select  Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select Raw Query and click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of popup menu. Click in that box and paste (command-V).
The search window will show all the App Store products you've installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the items listed in the search window is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Test.

  • HT2900 Forgot user & password for Safari parental controls. Is there a bypass?

We set up parental control on Safari but forgot the username and password needed to change or reset the parental control settings.  Is there a bypass in order to turn the controls off?

Any user with Admin access to the Mac should be able to use their account name and password to unlock the Accounts Preferences and access parental controls.

  • I am wanting to publish a website created in iweb via a third party web host. How do I put a password for anyone wishing to visit the mysite?

I am wanting to publish a website created in iweb via a third party web host. How do I put a password for anyone wishing to visit the mysite?

You create the usernames and passwords where you host your website. Made with or without iWeb.
Usually it's done in the controlpanel where you manage your account.
If you cannot do it there, you'll have to do it yourself. See this post :

And what is the purpose of password protection for ANYONE who vistis your site?

  • How can I get Safari to remember my ID and password for a site?

How can I get Safari to remember my ID and password for a site?
Specifically, I would like it to remember my 14 digit library account on:  http://polaris.plano.gov/Polaris/logon.aspx
Firefox on my old PC was able to do this no problem.  I have recently switched over to Apple.  Thanks for your help!
FYI, I am on a new Mac Mini with OS X 10.8.3 and Safari 6.0.4.

Some websites request the web browser to NOT autofill the username, password.  It is possible the library site is doing that. Your previous firefox on the PC may have been sufficiently old to not be able to handle such a request.  There are password managers you can get to over-ride such things (search Safari extensions).

  • Safari user name and password for secure sites

I just sent the following to "Mac OS X Feedback"
Some secure sites like brokers, e.g., Ameritrade, do no allow autofill in Safari for the user name and password. In fact Safari does not even ask if you want to remember the user name and password just entered for such sites.
I would like to suggest that something be done for users in such cases:
    1) A dialog box comes up warning that this website does not allow autofill.
    2) A suggestion is made as to what network setting needs to be changed to allow autofill to work
    3) A fix in Safari to take care of this problem
    4) Add something to Safari help
Does anyone have a work around for this problem?

Think about what would happen if someone gained access to your Mac, say while you were briefly away from your desk or whatever. They launch Safari, go to the login web page of (for instance) your bank & discover that autofill has helpfully filled in your user name & password so all they have to do to get access to your accounts is click the login button.
From there, they can transfer all your assets to some other account (theirs!) or invest in FlyByNight.com or whatever -- they can do anything your password lets you do with any password-protected account ... anything!
Take this a step further. Say you have enabled auto-login to your primary account at startup, or have used an easy-to-guess account password for it. Someone steals your computer ... & with it potential access to all your online accounts with autofill entries.
Not a pretty picture, is it?

  • Safari not remembering multiple passwords for one site

My ffriends and I use safari on my iPhone and thus have multiple login information for one site like facebook. A few months agowe were able to go to a site, start typing in the user name and password, and Safari would show us a highlighted list of the login info that had been saved. You could then click on that info and get logged in.  But that feature stopped some time ago and I can't figure it out.  Now Safari only remembers the last login info.  It still works the way it used to on my iMac and MacBook Pro but not the iPhone. Does anyone know how to fix it?

when the keyboard is open hold on the happy face for a second and from the menu list that pops up turn off the switch for PREDICTIVE.  That did it for me. When I start typing the firts letter of the login name now it predicts in yellow and I press space and fills it in, then I have to press the delete button to remove the space before pressing enter.

  • Where are passwords stored for Safari websites

I thought the place was the Keychain, but where else is are passwords stored?
I have jsut done a complete reset of the keychain from keychain Access, and the passwords page shows empty
Yet when I go to certain websites, I still get logged in automatically.
So where are these other passwords stored?

    HI,
The usernames and passwords are stored in the Keychain Access application but only if you have the Safari Preferences set up to do so.
With Safari open, from the Menu Bar, click Safari / Preferences and select the AutoFill tab.
Make sure Usernames and Passwords is selected.
    From the Finder Help Viewer...
When you set up a user account in Mac OS X using the Accounts preferences pane, a keychain with the same password is automatically created the first time you log in to the computer. This keychain is the default keychain. When you create passwords for servers or applications, the passwords are added to this keychain.
You may want to create an additional keychain for personal use that isn’t automatically unlocked when you log in to your user account. For example, you can create a “top secret” keychain to store notes, financial information, and any other items you want to store securely.
    To create a keychain:
Open Keychain Access, located in the Utilites folder in the Applications folder.
    Open Keychain Access
    Choose File > New Keychain.
Type a name for the keychain, and then click Create.
Type a password for the keychain, and then type it again in the Verify field.
For help choosing a good password, click the key button to the right of the Password field.

No. It's a safety feature. Select the appropriate response and the next time you visit, you won't be prompted.

  • PWMgr. won't ask to remember password for one site; it used to. It works on Safari. How do I get it to ask?

Mac OS 10.4.11, PowerBook G4. Broadband connection.
It used to remember the user name and password for this one site I use daily; suddenly it would put in user name but not fill in password. Neither one shows up on Password Manager.
I know it's not the site since Safari remembers both.
How can I restore the password?
    Thanks

Thank you but I tried the bookmarklet twice; no dice. I downloaded password editor but I must be doing something wrong since I try to add the username & password and it doesn't stick.
Autocomplete is on and works for every other site (& on Safari). This particular site will autocomplete my name (that is if I type in the first letter it shows an option) and it used to then automatically add the password.
