IWeb photo/images issues

Hello everyone,
I have created a website through iWeb. its all up and running fine.
The problem is I want to share my photos on other websites and it seems like the way iweb has stored the image is different.
Does anyone know how can I make my photos on my website appears on other sites (just the image) properly?
Thank you
James

Alright! Thank you Badunit and Jeff,
I think i have found out why it was not showing up after your suggestions.
When i checked my source codes again, where the picture is, it doesn't show up the full source linking but simply just the picture name.
So instead of
<img src="http://www.sr-union.com/SR-Union/Welcome_files/shapeimage_2.png">
it showed up
<img src="Welcome_files/shapeimage_2.png">
No wonder it won't work as when i copy and pasted it, i didn't check through and make sure the source linking is in full!
Now thats something i have learned today!
Thank you guys!

  • SEO tool, image tagging-is it possible using iWeb photo album?

    Hi,
    Quaetion as above really, I've recently started to use the Rage SEO tool to tag my website, I came to start doing the images within the iWeb photo album and it cant access these, I read on here(04/09) its because its Javascript, is there a way round this yet, other than creating a html page for each photo myself? With over 100 photos to show this isnt my preference, as there is a lot more work involved in the iweb construction.
    Any help greatly apprected
    Cheers
    Paul

    How long have you waited before trying to find your images? Google can take 2 weeks or longer to list them. Secondly, your images might not return results for thousands of pages depending on the keywords you used. It will also help to submit a sitemap as discussed.
    Your Lightroom keywords are for Lightroom/searching use, not web use.
    There are free photo galleries you can add your photos to and link to from your website, but unless you're willing to get into something fairly complicated, this will not help the search ranking of your actual site (though it may help get the images themselves ranked).
    Another alternative is to create a few separate pages with a single picture on each, a good text description, image name and ALT text, and then link to your complete photo gallery for people to view. This might be worth doing with images which have unusual keywords or phrases (and so people would be likely to return them when searching).
    Getting your pictures ranked in Google image search, whilst useful in some ways, can end up being counter-productive as people are more likely to just grab your image for their own use (or ignore it if it's water-marked) and not even visit your website.

  • Want to show image description in an iweb photo gallery

    Is there a way to get the description data field to display for each photo when you make a gallery (or album page)? We took hours to add nice desctiptions for each photo and can't get them to show in the iweb/iphoto gallery.
    I'm using 'publish to folder' so that I can host the gallery on my own website.
    Also, each photo has the 'title' field showing, not even the file name I've given each photo. So the file name doesn't show either. Is there a way to show the file name?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers.

    bjenrol:
    Where are these descriptions entered? If you used the Description field in iPhoto you can use this Applescript to move the descriptions to the title field which will display in the iWeb photo page. Be sure to remove the Å from the script before saving. It's an error. When you're done importing to iWeb you can use the Photos->Batch Change->Title to File Name to get the original file names back in that field.

  • Web gallery use vs iWeb photo page

    I really like the quick layout of the gallery. Would I be saving more iDisk space by using the Aperture Web gallery vs iWeb photo pages?? My guess is yes because I can control the size in page/detail and more when I save to my .mac. The only feature I would lose is the flow of navigation with the other iWeb pages.
    My thought was to create a main photo page with iWeb and have a small snapshot to hyperlink to the homepage.mac gallery created with Aperture. This allows flexibility in adding/removing the galleries if space becomes an issue. I dont have much in iWeb so far and it takes a really long time to load as it is. I'd hate to bog down more with photo galleries.

    hello, me100finn
    quote: "The only feature I would lose is the flow of navigation with the other iWeb pages."
    You can always manually make a link to the other web pages which is what I do.
    Just a few more added features to Aperture Web Gallery and Web Journal like an advance option feature to view & change the CSS or source code (without going to GoLive or Dreamweaver) or something along the lines of "would you like to add a link to another url?" would be tasty.
    quote: "My thought was to create a main photo page with iWeb and have a small snapshot to hyperlink to the homepage.mac gallery created with Aperture."
    Yup, my thoughts too. Maybe version 2 (i hope). I'm making the site first in Aperture (the heavy lifting) and then making minor additions and tweaks in GoLive.
    To do this add the image, select it after the export in a wysiwyg html editor and point it to the proper linked url.

  • Why is my MacBook Pro slowe when I open it off line to view photo images?

    I had recently activated iCloud. I have it set not to copy my photos or data, but only settings and a few other categories. I opened it offline in Preview to quickly view photos on memory cards. I found it slow, with a drop down box periodically flashing open from  the top of the screen. It appears to be attempting to copy or save my images. I presume this is to iCloud, though I have it specifically unchecked and do not want it saved to iCloud. I have Dropbox, which I quit, so it is not a factor. I never save my photo images there either. In the past, it was never problem to open and view images with Preview. Now it is extremely slow to open and load images for contact sheet view. All this is recent with the addition of Mavericks and iCloud. Also, I attempted to get  out of this by quitting, but had to resort to a forced quit, as it continued to do what it was doing.
    Is there a way to be sure iCloud is not copying things and slowing down my computer? Is this a glitch caused by Mavericks?
    I have done scans with Sophos Antivirus and it does not appear I have any virus. I have lost all the speed of having a Mac. It is now slower than my old dual core Acer PC. I recently added a Caldigit Thunderbolt dock which has worked great to add USB 3.0 to  my early 2011 MacBook Pro which had not 3.0 ability, but this
    was bypassed, as my card reader is only 2.0. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
    <Edited by Host>

    I think I have found the source of my problem detailed above. Apparently, there have been problems with Preview running on OS Mavericks, dating back to October 2013, which Apple has yet to acknowledge or address. Many have had similar problems with photo images loading very slowly to the point of making Preview unuseable.
    It may also explain problems I have had with flash drives and hard drives that ran on my Mac Book Pro under Lion no longer working  since upgrading to Mavericks. I found other postings on these issues.
    It is a shame that I have to resort to Google as the best source to identify problems with my Mac and possible solutions. In many cases, it directs me to the source on Apple Support, which is difficult to find when one attempts a search via Apple Support. This could use some improvement.
    I am new to using community support sites and Apple does not seem  to provide simple, clear directions  on how to get started. Jumping in with both feet, not only did I get wet, but I apparently "splashed" someone, as I got a hostile response from another community member on the first issue ever posted. I never did get an answer to the problem, though. I hope some find these comments helpful.
    Oh, and wake up, Apple. We all would hope you monitor and glean information from these postings and act promptly to remedy problems with OS Mavericks.

  • Photo images from dig. cam [one is error and other won't open] questions

    My wife inserted the sd card in the card reader and copied about 70 photo image files to the Mac. The camera that took all the 70 photos was a Panasonic DMC-LZ5 but I don't think the camera model matters much here.
    For the first time, 2 of the many images seem to be corrupt. Mac X reports one photo image has an error while trying to open and reports the second image won't open.
    My main concern is whether or not to just delete the two error/corrupt jpg images. My other main concern is that I don't want to keep the two images if it could affect or corrupt my hd or Mac system in some way.
    I normally just trash corrupted files; however, in this case I went ahead and attempted to open both of the 2 troubled files myself later and they both opened up in Preview and didn't report any error or corruption. However, one of the jpg images defintely is corrupt when viewing it as the bottom of the image is definitely messed up. However, the other image now opens perfectly and looks fine to the eye as if nothing is wrong with it.
    Here is a link to the one photo image that isn't quite right [note the obvious distortion at bottom of image]. Link is http://mysite.verizon.net/vzenvo78/question595.jpg
    Further very relevant information: The SanDisk sd card that all the 70 images were on is a 1 gig card and the sd card seems to be a total loss. The sd card can't be initialized/formatted by disk utility and furthermore the sd card is no longer recognized by the Panasonic camera - the Panasonic camera won't even preview the images off the card or allow me to format the card even from the camera.

    Hello,
    I see what you are talking about. I just discovered this same exact problem on a friends G5 after he uploaded pics from his Leica.
    This is what I did: I ran Disk Utility from the system restore disc to verify and repair the drive. DU reported Volume Bitmap problems. DU was able to repair the disc. Next, I created a new user account and tried uploading the images from the camera to the G5 and it worked just fine. The images loaded like they should.
    I also reinstalled the drivers that came with the camera.
    Delete any files that your Mac reports as a problem. It's just not worth leaving them on the drive.
    So...... run Disk Utility from your system restore disc. If it reports errors, hopefully DU can repair them. If not, one option is to get DiskWarrior here:
    www.alsoft.com or TechToolPro4 here: www.micromat.com
    One other idea is how old is the card?
    Next idea is to create a new user acccount: System Prefs/Accounts. Try using that account to upload the same images. See if they upload as they should. If they do, then the issue isn't system wide, it's just in the other user account.
    Remember to always back up your images/audio/data often as you never know when you might need to do either an Archive or Erase and Reinstall.

  • How to store photo images in a database table?

    Hello Y'all,
    How do I store about 695 signs inventory photo images from a PDF file to an Oracle database table? We are using Oracle 10.2.0.2. What data type should I use for these images? How about the table space? What table space should I allocate to ensure there is no space issue?
    Thanks in advance for any/all the help.

    Here you go..
    Assuming you have a table
    test_blob (col1 BLOB);
    Create an oracle directory or use an existing one to place the image on the oracle server.
    create or replace directory tmp_blob as '/tmp';This tmp location should exist on your server where oracle is installed.
    also ftp the image file (say image1.bmp) to this location
    declare
    l_blob BLOB;
    l_bfle BFILE;
    l_re BOOLEAN := FALSE;
    Begin
    DBMS_LOB.createtemporary(l_blob, TRUE);
    insert into test_blob(col1) values (EMPTY_BLOB())
    returning col1 into l_blob;
    --return image into l_blob;
    l_bfile := BFILENAME('TMP_BLOB','image1.bmp');
    --check if file exists
    l_ret := DBMS_LOB.fileexists (l_bfile) = 1;
    if (l_ret)
    then
    DBMS_LOB.fileopen(l_bfile);
    DBMS_LOB.loadfromfile(l_blob, l_bfile, DBMS_LOB.getlength(l_bfile));
    commit;
    else
    DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line('File not present');
    end if;
    end;

  • IWeb Photo Sharing problems

    We have a iWeb photo page where visitors were able to click on a picture and save it on their own computer with it being a normal file size. Now, it seems when you try to save a picture it is shows up as "transparent" and only allows you to choose .gif or .bmp as the file extension.
    I am not sure what changed....any thoughts??!!

    ...same question here: some of the photos on my site (www.christelvanmeeuwen.eu - still under the old iWeb for now) are from families, and, though they've let me use them for my site, should not simply be available for download, unless with explicit permission. On the other hand, I want to make some other photos available for free download, e.g. is someone wants to use them on his site or so (the Creative Commons philosophy).
    So it would be quite convenient to be able to switch the download possibility on or off.
    (I know that its virtually always possible to download an image on a site, one could always use a image grabber or so - but having the download button always there of course doesn't help...)
    Any hint would be helpful,
    Kind regards,
    Christel

  • IWeb photo albums

    Have just created a website with multiple photo albums ... all images look great within iWeb, but when the site is published, (to either a folder, or to a .mac site) the images on the Album page (with album animation set to skim) are all pixelated ... when you click onto album image to get to the photo grid page, all images appear on the photo grid page (and in the slideshow) as perfect and sharp without any pixelation whatsoever.
    I have tried importing the images from both Aperture and iPhoto ... no difference ... both are pixelated when published ... Then tried changing the presets/preferences , both in iWeb for image import (checked and unchecked the box for "optimize images on import" ) ... and in Aperture, changing the image size and quality for export ... no difference ...
    My apple creative is at a loss, as are all the genius' in the store ... and I am unable to find any fix in iWeb help, the tutorials, the discussion forums, the pdf info, or anywhere else ... can't even find the problem listed ...
    Can anyone help me?

    When you say "using smaller thumbnails" what exactly do you mean?
    I imported 49 3008x2000 photos which were scaled down to 800x528 for display within the page width i set for the project. (This also appears to be the storage size for published photos which I was able to download back to my computer.) In any case, the "Album Index" page then created created a "thumbnail" (image scaled to 512x338) for use on the "Album Index" page. (You will note that this is the same width as those previously noted on kire25's web site with height at aspect ratio that matches my slightly odd Nikon originals.) In any case, think of these "thumbnails" as being used as individual frames in a movie clip and that moving your cursor horizontally across the "thumbnail" display area as being the same as "scrubbing" a movie player's "play head" and you can imagine how "skimming" thumbnail images actually works.
    As to the apparent increase in quality, I set the display area for 4 columns of thumbnail displays even though I only made a single album for my test. Having four columns, each would be displayed at only 258x170 with the settings used in my test. Thus the display size in my case is actually less than the scaled size of the "thumbnail" image and so skimming speed is faster and relative quality appears to increase. Didn't check the actual difference in my test, but I believe that if you set the number of columns in iWeb for the automatic generation of this effect to 2, 3, or 4, then actual thumbnail image size is equal to or larger than the display size. Only the "1 Column" setting displays the thumbnail larger than its actual size (i.e., will generate obvious pixellation). Must confess, however, that I wasn't all that thrilled with the scaling algorithm used by iWeb (probably the standard QT scaler) as opposed to other algorithms.
    The size of the images themselves are compressed before you insert the album into the place holder, or the size of the "album holder" is smaller in dimension ...?
    Not sure if the compression takes place when photos are added to photo pages or at the time of publication. First photo in page always looked worse than the others after I modified the web page width and increased the display area. (Would probably require reads of project file data (image size) before and after making changes to page/display widths to determine how the stored image dimensions are effected by changes in the project settings. (This is not something I would want to take the time to investigate at this time as I am way behind in making some DVDs for my grandson.)

  • IWeb photo compression

    Hi All,
    I'm just noticing that iWeb compresses images quite a lot. Even small images I am using at full size. iWeb seems to convert PNG files to jpeg files, and there seems to be no control over the compression. I'm talking about a 200kb image that iWeb is compressing to 100kb, and the quality is very poor.
    What I've been doing is exporting from iWeb, and then replacing the image files with the original higher quality images. This is not a great workflow.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    Is there a way to tell iWeb not to touch images at all and simply use the original files ?
    No. You will have to create a different type of photo page, one that does not use iWeb's javascript.
    One method would be to add thumbnails of your photos to a blank page and link them to the image files you want to display as in this demo page: Opening Item in a New, Precisely Sized Window. The example at the bottom will open an item in a new window without a button.
    There are some flash based presentations that would let you use the files of your choice for display. One such presentation is Jalbum which as over 100 skins/themes to choose from.

  • IWeb Photo Page download

    Are people able to download any photos from iWeb photo pages? During the slideshow feature it says 'download', does that mean visitors to my site can download my content?

    To illustrate the difference I duplicated a page that allows downloading and changed the copy to not allow downloading. You could still take a screen shot of any image on the web but the quality isn't high.
    Here are the two pages:
    Allows downloading:http://web.me.com/phelpssculpture/Site/proofs_available.html
    Doesn't allow downloading: http://web.me.com/phelpssculpture/Site/proofsavailable2.html

  • HP Touchsmart IQ775 Crashes When Clicking On A Photo, Image, Video or Movie

     HP Touchsmart IQ775
    Vista Home Edition
    32 bit
    Bought it new almost 3 years ago
    Wireless Keyboard & Mouse never worked
    Geek squad worked on it (4-29-09) can't fix it
    Office Depot worked on it (7-?-10) can't fix it
    This first started around January of 2009.  Every time I click on one of my photos, an image, video or movie, the screen turns pink.  There are horizontal and vertical lines all over the screen.  Sometimes, immediately after this happens, the screen will go black.  Nothing will work and I have to push the power button in order to shut it down.  After rebooting, everything will load and work, that is until I click on a photo, image, video or movie.
    Does anyone know what might be causing this to happen and if it can be fixed?

    Sounds like a video card problem.

  • Iweb photo page and pay pal buttons

    could someone tell me how to alter or change java so pay pal buttons go away when someone clicks on picture to enlarge or goes to slide show? cyclosaurus gave to example web pages that it can be done, but no explanation on how to do it.
    Thanks , wish I was smarter. Tom

    Hi!
    I had this issue about a month ago, so scheduled an Apple One-to-One session, which easily solved the problem. You cannot use the iWeb "Photo" page template if you want to add a Paypal button. As much a pain as it is, you must use the iWeb "Blank" page template.

  • BB Locks up when I transfer photo images to the Micro SD Card

    Any one have any idea why my 8330 with 1GB micro SD card locks up when I transfer photo images to the card?
    They are 1.25 MB JPG files.  I tried transferring to the card directly and transferring to the card via Roxio.  Roxio asked if I want to convert.... I agreed to convert the files, but the BB still locks up.  I only had this BB for about 5 days and I have already found several thing I really don't like.  This is the top of the list, second is streaming music won't use Stereo Bluetooth headphones and the Navigation App won't use headphones at all and the GPS App, doesn't work consistently in a vehicle (what's up with that, where else would I want to use it?).

    I would put my money on the memory card being defective. The fact that you verified that the one file that the device
    (regurgitated) was not corrupt. If you transferred it from the PC DIRECTLY to the media card as you say,
    the Blackberry wasn't involved except as a port.
    Try this; remove the media card put it on the reader and load the images. If the same this happens it's not related to the Blackberry as it isn't even in the equation.
    I would try reformatting the card, and making sure the following options are set on your BB.
    Go to OPTIONS _MEDIA CARD_  enable all options except for ENCRYPTION MODE make sure that is none.
    Verify that the total space shown on the bottom of the screen reflects the amount of memory on the media card,
    Allowing for formatting space) ex. On my 8gb card I shoe 7.6gb available.
    If the problem reoccurs it would make sense it's the media card.
    Can't have to much practice at field stripping your device right?  (USAR 70 )
