IWeb photos have disappeared!

I have a simple iWeb set up and have just noticed that most of my photos albums are now blank.
I have tried this in Firefox, Safari and IE and all the same result.
You can see the preview of the album but when you click on the album the page is just blank of all photos - headers and titles are still there.
My most recent page is still returning photos, but all of the older ones are now blank.
Can anyone help - what is going on???

Hi and welcome to the forums.

  • In events that have a movie, my photos have disappeared?

In my iPhoto, the Events that had video saved, the photos have disappeared for some reason. If there wasn't a video in an Event then the photos are still there!
    Help please!

Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS.  So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Basic things like :
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • Some photos have disappeared!!

My mac froze so I turned it off and rebooted it, and when I reopened iPhoto afterwards, more than half of my photos have disappeared from the Library. I went to the iPhoto folder in the Finder and it shows all the pictures are still there, in their dated folders. When I tried to import them back into the Library, it comes up with an error saying that they're already there ... even though they aren't showing up. What's wrong, and how can I fix it?

    callmezoe:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Unless you have a backup of either the iPhoto LIbrary folder or the Library6.iPhoto database file you've lost that library are it was. The dB file has been damaged. You can try rebuilding the library but I don't hold much hope for success. Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library.
If that doesn't work you'll have to create a new library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the rolls from the original.
Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same rolls as the original library. However dates on the rolls may be different but can be edited as you would the roll title.
Once this is completed you can delete the Originals folder from the desktop and the iPhoto Llibrary folder. If desired, you can keep the older library folder to try other fixes on it.
In the future I recommend you make a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto file after each import and after doing a lot of editing and organizing in the library. Then if you experience a similar crash all you need to do is replace the damaged database file with the backup copy and you'll be back to the same place in the library as when you make the backup. See the tip at the end of my signature.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • All of my photos have disappeared from PSE Organizer 13 (after I upgraded it).

All of my photos have disappeared from PSE Organizer 13 (after I upgraded it).  The files are all on the HD.  When I try and reimport them, Organizer says they are already in there and will not allow me to proceed.  When I highlight a keyword, Get the message  "NO MEDIA TO BE DISPLAYED".  Perhaps I am dense, but I find the Search function of the Forum to be near useless, unless I just happen to type the Exact name of a topic.
I now have no access to perhaps 35,000 files from 12 years of using PSE!
    GFrey

Which operating system are you running on?   Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
Which version did you upgrade from?  updated from PSE 13 to PSE 13.1
In the organizer, which view are you using - in the View menu is Details checked or unchecked - does it make any difference?  was unchecked now checked.  Now can see the other files, but the Keyword tags that I had attached in the past does not bring up the selected frames.
In the View menu, select Media types - are all checked?  At this point I have only Ohotos and videos checked
In View menu, select Hidden Files - is Show All Files checked?  yes
I'm assuming that you are in Media view, what happens if you select People Places or Events?  get groupings of files with those keywords.

Thanks Brian, at least some of my problems are gone, just can't get the keyword sorting to work correctly

  • I just imported 70 photos successfully, edited them, and then attempted to upload them to a Facebook album.  It did not work and got hung up, so I force quit IPhoto and was going to try again.  The 70 photos have DISAPPEARED!!  Help !!!!

I just imported 70 photos successfully, edited them, and then attempted to upload them to a Facebook album.  It did not work and got hung up, so I force quit IPhoto and was going to try again.  The 70 photos have DISAPPEARED!!  Help !!!!

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • All my photos have disappeared from iphoto!!! I can find them in spotlight

    Hello All! Help!
I was importing photos from a compact flash card into iphoto which was successful. I powered down for the night, the next time I opened up iphoto my entire library seemed to have disappeared(about 5000 images!) All that was left was the new import. It was as though the prog had reset itself there were no albums etc left at all. I understand that my photos live in the iphoto library folder in my pics but that about it! I have never understood the bizarre set up for these sub folders and how they work. Nor do I understand the other elements of the iphoto folder i.e. iphotodb etc. I noticed that I had two library folders as well and when I spotlighted jpg's that I have at least doubled up on images. Its a mess! Can anyone tell me exactly the way it should all be set up, in laymen's terms? Where the folders should live and in what order? And how to get rid of all the duplicate jpgs that have somehow been created? Without having to go through 5000 images by hand!!!

    Thanks for your response Terence.
That is what I've done already. iPhoto could not open. After the hard drive and logic board were replaced (for other issues) and OS X Leopard reinstalled, I rebuilt the library manually, and now the same thing has happened again, iPhoto crashes on start up. iPhoto Manager did not fix it, iPhoto cannot rebuild its own library for some reason, and I don't want to have to repeatedly rebuild the library by hand having already done it once. I've noted other posts about keeping constant library backups, which I can start doing, but I was wondering if perhaps going to a newer version of iPhoto would resolve this issue. There are so many similar posts on here perhaps iLife 5.0.4 is really not compatible with Leopard. I would prefer to get this version of iLife to work instead of trying to upgrade.

  • HT4859 The photos have disappeared from my iPad

Any ideas where all my photos have gone, the ones I transferred from my pc and the ones I have taken on the iPad?

This is not syncing. Photos/videos in the iPad's Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. Choosing an empty folder for importing photos from the Camera Roll has no effect on this.
What did you use on your computer for the import? Most importing software includes an option to delete photos from the source after the import process is complete.
If you want photos in the Camera Roll included with your iCloud's Photo Stream which is temporary storage, you need to turn Photo Stream on with your iCloud account settings on your iPad.

  • My photos have disappeared into my smart collection?

Almost all my picture sin my library folders have disappeared into the collections folders. how do I get them back into their original folders?

To tell you the truth, I have no idea why you are seeing what you are seeing, or what your Folder Panel in Lightroom looks like, but if it works, you can keep doing it.
Maybe you could show us a screen capture of the Folder Panel in Lightroom.

  • HELP, please! My photos have disappeared from iPhoto library & I can only see them on the screensaver.

Firstly, I should say we haven't updated/installed/deleted anything.  I just opened iPhoto yesterday and first it told me it couldn't open up without specifying a library, but then it seemed our library has just disappeared.  I then created a new library as, I have to admit, me & my DH are complete tecno dummies, but that didn't help much.  The only thing which we have done in the past couple of days is set up the screensaver to play our photos.  So now we can only see the photos on that - I'm presuming that means they haven't been completely lost (?) but am in a panic as we've got no back-up (three years worth of photos!).
When I go on 'system preferences' (hope that's the correct translation, our computer's using Italian) and the screensaver, I can see 'picture folder' where all the photos are but I can't find that anywhere else on the computer.
Also, I read other threads about similar probs & tried launching iPhoto pressing down 'option & control' but that didn't help me out either.
We also spent half an hour on the phone to the Apple helpline here in Italy (yes, that's a charged call) to try and understand what's gone wrong and the advisor just kept telling us she didn't know how to help us out 'cause our Mac is an old model
Apologies in advance for my complete ignorance about how to solve this problem but I'd be really grateful if someone out there could shed some light on what's happened.

when you say to go to my Pictures Folder, do you mean to go on Finder, then Pictures, then look at the iPhoto library?
Yes. Is there more than one there?
The material in your screensaver are cached images. They cannot be recovered and soon they will go way.
If you have deleted your Library (and it sounds like you have done this, accidentally)  the you have deleted your Photos and you need to restore from your back up.

  • All photos have disappeared?

Apparently the iPhoto updated to 9.2.1 and all photos are greyed out. Any way to restore these?

TD, you solved the most critical part of the problem—at least told me what I needed to know to fix it. The pictures have been recovered, a very big deal to my wife and therefore to my happy marriage. I owe you a cold one.
The original problem was that, after the update, nothing prints from iPhoto. Following advice given in an earlier thread about a similar problem I discarded the pref file. Thereupon the pictures disappeared. I retrieved the original file, but wasn't working carefully enough. Instead of putting it back where it belonged I dropped it into the iPhoto Library file. As soon as I put it into the prefs file the pictures returned.
By searching on the title of a recent picture I was able to locate where the originals went. Everything moved into an older library that had been renamed, and became part of the Originals folder in that library.
I normally backup her entire computer monthly. However, we've been gone extensively, so it hasn't been done for a couple of months. I hadn't understood how easy it is to get problems with iPhoto, so now I'll need to find some way to back up her up daily. Maybe I can do that with Backup.
In order to keep this thread from becoming too complicated I'm going to mark it solved, and then start a new one on the problem of iPhoto not printing.
    Again, thanks for your help.

  • My photos have disappeared from iPhoto 11

My hard drive was replaced at the beginning of this year by apple because of the possibility of premature failure. Just before Christmas 2013, i discovered my iPhoto was blank. sometime in January, the photos all reappeared but as of yesterday, they have once again disappeared from iPhoto. The pictures are still on the harddrive as they can be seen using Finder but are no longer grouped by albums. Also, they are locked in Finder. The iMac is running OSX 10.7.5 and the iPhoto version is 9.4.3.
I would like my photos back in iPhoto and would like them to be reliably there when i go to view them. Any suggestions? Apple Support advised me they had never heard of this happening.

If so, try your Admin and other Account(s).

  • My photos have disappeared from my phone and I can not figure out how to pull them from iCloud back to my phone. Can someone help me??

How do u get ur photos from iCloud back to ur phone if the disappear???

You download photo stream photos by going to Settings>iCloud>Photo Stream and setting it to On.  Photos are only held in photo stream for 30 days, so older photos will no longer be there.
Camera roll photos are only included in your backup.  If the photos were on your iPod when you last backed it up, restoring the entire backup should recover them.  Restoring to an iCloud backup has to be done in the initial device setup process.  If you have any newer data on your iPod now that is not in the backup that you want to save you'll need to do that first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  Then go through the setup screens on your iPod and given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup.  Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

  • Need Help!!!!!!! Photos have disappeared!

I was trying to move several dozen pictures off my Playbook, and so tried to organize them by making several folders.
While moving pictures to the folders on the Playbook, an error message "file not specified at location" occured.
I had thought that this was because the computer was not refreshing fast enough, so I refreshed the screen.
    Then all the photos disappeared!
I have tired to use Recuva, Wonder Share and Icare, but none can detect the network drive (it is labeled Z

I downloaded my new photos. Afterwhich my iphoto reset and all 1300 photos disappeared completely from iphoto. I reloaded the current ones and out of those two disappeared leaving a dotted box in the spot in which they were. I know all my photos are still on my computer because I have accessed them. But I want them in iphoto.
