iWeb Publish Error - A lock occurred while publishing to MobileMe. Try publishing again later.
I've tried all articles so far on apple support site. Tried on new OS user and publishing to folder and publishing a test page. I still get an error. Publishing to folder works fine, its just when I publish to MobileMe. Also tried different network and restarting computer etc.
    Help me. Thanks.

If you are logged in OK maybe you should look at your Keychain.
    Finer/Go/Utilities/Keychain Access.app.
Try "Keychain First Aid" from the "Keychain Access" drop down menu.

  • Iweb - Publish error - can't create the file "..."

    Hey guys,
I've seen this issue in a couple of discussions but nothing helps. When I try to publish my site I'm getting the following error note:
"Publish error. Can't create the file "...png". The disk may be damaged or full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges."
Same result whether I publish to an ftp or to a local folder.
My disk is far from full and the site is merely a few megas heavy.
The content is just text and a few photos.
I have OS version 10.6.8 and Iweb 3.0.4.
    No passwords involved.
I've tried all the tricks in the book:
Duplicating the page that won't publish.
Re-creating the page that won't publish.
    Deleting com.apple.iweb.plist from home/library/preferences
Moving my site domain to another location, creating a new site and then putting the old one back
    Deleting cache from libray/caches/com.apple.iweb
    I re-installed Ilife
    Reboots
    Banging head repeatedly again wall
Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it?
    Pleymo

    Try the following:
delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
    launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
    launch iWeb and try again.

  • Publishing Error Help!

This is the error message I am now getting whenever I attempt to publish:
"Can’t create the file “shapeimage1_link0.png.” The disk may be damaged, full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges."
I'm stuck here. I would like to salvage my files and move them to another computer to publish, but how do I do that??
    Thanks for any help....
    Sunny

Here is one thing you may try:
Try publishing and make a note of which page iWeb is working on when the error message comes up.
Then open the page where the error occurred and open the Inspector.
In the Inspector click on the page icon and uncheck the 'include page in navigation menu' check box and 'display navigation menu' checkbox. Quit the inspector and go back to the page. The navigation bar will disappear. Click on publish.
After iWeb publishes, click on the page again, open the Inspector and this time check both the boxes mentioned above so the navigator bar appears on the page. Then publish again.

  • IWeb publishing error unknown version 1.01

Help. I thought iWeb was supposed to be fairly simple!
I have a reasonable amount of content, which I have recently gone to a lot of hard work to transpose from homepage to iweb. It now won't publish. I get the above error message. I have looked for something to aid me with this, but it tends to be regarding version 1.1 (I haven't upgraded). I want to cry. Any ideas anyone? Is it because I changed a couple of site names? Are five photo pages with approximately 80 photos on more than 1 GB? I have gone into Domain, this indicates 1.1GB but I don't think that can be right! Also, I tried to publish to a folder - no success there either - the above error message again!
Please help me, I'm so frustrated I could pop!
    Matt

    "homepage transposed to iWeb"?
does that mean you have a homepage version of the photos then an iWeb published one?
then yeah it is likely you've exceeded the 1Gb space allotment in a single user .mac account. (80 photos x 5 x 2(homepage+iWeb versions) .... its possible to reach 1 Gb depending on the size of the photos
Play around with publishing to a free version of .mac . Create a new user on your computer and use that to publish to the new .mac account. See if you encounter problems publishing there, this way you can rule out whether it was your paid .mac account that's faulty or your ISP/network.
Lookslike you have to make a choice between homepage and iWeb. Just arrange your photos on iPhoto as you see fit (the 5 albums you want) and play around in iWeb.

  • Need publishing error help - new user.

I am new to the mac world having just purchased a MacBook, signed up with a mac account, and am trying to test load a very simple 2 page web site. I continue to get publishing errors (different file names sometimes appear when I retry to publish). Nothing shows up on my idisk, so nothing is getting through. I have tried to publish about a dozen times over the last couple of days. I note others have had similar errors. Since space is not an issue on my idisk and the site is so small, I'm not sure what to try next. Any ideas? Thanks.<

Dr. B.. this fixed about 90% of the publishing errors for me.
    Hope this helps...

    “iDisk Quota Error” fix
    A. Quit iWeb, if it is open. Select Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu.
Then type (or copy and paste) ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb into
the field and click Go. You should now see a file named, Domain.
(or you could just do it manually by opening the hard disk, open the Users folder, then open the Folder with your user name on it, open the Library folder, open the application support folder, open the iweb folder, and then you should be looking at the DOMAIN file.)
This is a Mac OSX package file. Note: A package is a relatively common type of document in Mac OSX; it is essentially a sealed folder. It contains individual items, but cannot be opened in the same manner as a folder.
    B. To open the package, hold the Control Key and click on the Domain package file. Note: If you have a two-button mouse, this step can be accomplished by right-clicking the Domain package file.
    C. Select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu that appears.
    D. A new window will appear containing a folder named Contents.
    E. Open the Contents folder. Here you will see one, and possibly two files named assets.<membername>.groups.<groupname>.plist or assets.<membername>.plist, where <membername> and <groupname> correspond to your .Mac member name and .Mac Group name. Note: Your .Mac member name is the first part of your .Mac email address, before "@mac.com."
NOTE FROM ME... I didn’t find these files in the Contents folder, I found
them when I opened the Domain File itself. Whatever.. when you find one,
or maybe both of these files, delete them. (some people have both, some
    have one)
    F. If you have either or both of these files, move them to the trash. Then close
    the Contents window.
    G. Relaunch iWeb and try publishing again.

  • Publish Error:  Help needed, please!

When I attempt to publish my site changes from iWeb (I am set up to publish to my personal domain), I get the following error:
    "Publish Error
Can’t create the file “cherub_overlay65.jpg.” The disk may be damaged or full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges."
I do not have a photo called "cherub-overlay65.jpg." I think this jpg is part of one of the iWeb "themes."
Any advice? I have published previously and had no problem at all. =(
    Thanks in advance!

  • IWeb publishing error

When I try to publish updates to my webpages I get the message - "There was an error updating .Mac." I have tried deleting the preferences file and rebooting.

Your Public Profile indicates you are using Mac OS X (10.4.6) — upgrade to 10.4.11 via Software Update and then in iWeb do a Publish All from the File menu.
If the error persists, see this Apple doc:

  • IWeb publishing errors

My computer crashed and I ended up installing everything again. However, when I try to update my site using iWeb, I get the following error:
An error occurred while publishing file “/private/var/folders/g3/g3WR5nm6GXmMVozexXw6oU+TI/TemporaryItems/com.apple.iWeb2243_TEMP_270725365_2/sites/Site/theology_spong_files/shapeimage7.png”. Try publishing again later.
I tried deleting iWeb and reinstalling. I also erased my idisk and even dumped my "domain" and wrote a completely new one page test site to no avail.
    Any suggestions please?

  • IWeb: publishing error message

Out of the blue this afternoon when I tried to upload some changes to the web site I received the following error message
PUBLISHING ERROR: There was an error communicating with the FTP server. Try again later, or check with your service provider
To double check the connection to the FTP server I clicked on the "Test Connection" button on the 'FTP Server Settinngs' of the 'Site Publishing Settings' page and the result came back clear and ready to use.  I also ran a speed test on my broadband and that was fine too.
I cannot see any reason why I would get a publishing error.  Can anyone help me please.
    Thanks

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed to your iPhoto Library:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Latest Security Update Cause Website Login & iWeb Publishing Error?

    Hello all and Happy Holidays!
I just did the latest Mac OS Security Update early this evening, but I was too sleepy and tried from work, that I disconnect all the peripherals, cables etc, but I forgot to pull out my firewire cable that was connected to a FireWire Hub (but no FW device was turned on at the time)
So I continued to do the update, restart and Repair Permission, have always been careful and so far nothing has "gone wrong" on my iMac.
But now I can't log into a particular Members' Webpage, keeps getting a Safari error page saying the server is not responding; Secondly, tonight I have tried at least 3 times trying to publish my latest blog entry on my iWeb, but it gives me the error message asking me to check my network connection.
I can surf, email, iTunes even download the latest podcast in the background while I am encountering these "small" problems.
    Anyone can help? Most appreciated.
Has this got to do with the Security Update?
    Thanks and cheers

Not neccesarily this particular security update, but performing any update while your firewire port was in use. Try resetting the FW port, info here, (I know it works, but resetting it might just do the trick) and see if that helps,
    Miriam

  • IWEB publishing error on Snow Leopard

Help please. I've been using iWeb for years now - very successfully. Since installing Snow leopard though, I cannot publish web pages with photo's on them - ANY PHOTO. Photo gallery collections etc loads perfectly. The iWEB application just quit on me.

  • Iweb publishing error - network

I can't publish my web page.
"Publish failed due to a network error. Check your Internet connection and try again."
I have wireless connection and everything else works fine.
What is the problem and how do I fix it?

I am having the same problems but they have only just developed in the past 24 hours. And mine have nothing at all to do with my connection. I suspect that none of us experiencing this idiotic situation are enduring it because of a connection problem. It's clearly at Apple and they should do something about it.
I got the same error message telling me to check my connection at home where I have very good cable. So, after a day or trying, I went to another location where I used Verizon fiber optics and had a magnificent connection. Once again, it created all the pages, then said publishing failed and told me to try again. What's particularly stupid is that the change I made was actually published but iWeb is being told that it wasn't. Now, if I want to make a minor correction on one page, it goes back to publishing all sites of all pages -- then tells me publishing failed.
This is absurd. Apple should fix it and stop passing the buck. That business attitude gets very old.

  • IWeb Publishing error: "Can't connect to .mac account"

I have been able to publish fine until three days ago. I wait for my movies to be created then get a dreaded " Cannot connect to .mac account. Check internet connection. Try again later. I can log in to access my idisk, get e-mail, and generally do everything else. Why suddenly can't I publish? I'm using OS 10.4.10 and ilife'08. Thanks

I WAS a happy iWeb camper until two days ago. When I tried to add a page to my site today, it told me I was out of space, and to change my configuration, dump some files, or purchase additional storage. I dumped some pages that broke my heart to get rid of, published my iWeb to a file, then did a "get info" check - I'm only using 4.4 GB of space, I reset my mail to 30 MB, and it still tells me I'm out of space. The last time when I published the whole site I got the message that it could not connect to .mac account, to check my internet connection and try again. I'm just totally aggravated over this now. I spent a lot of time on the pages I got rid of for no apparent good reason, and still can't publish my new page. After all the aggravation when I installed Leopard on the 24" aluminum iMac, I thought I'd have smooth sailing now that they resolved the freezing problem. As Waylon Jennings said in his song, WRONG! Sure hope someone comes up with a fix for this one. Thanks, Deb

  • IWEB publishing errors: hyperlinks, formatting, images

After publishing, my text boxes with hyperlinks and or bold / italics the fonts / boxes are completely messed up. iWEB seems to be using the old code rather than writing new code, and randomly making changes or inserting element from different pages. I believe this is somehow related to iWEB's writing of the style blocs. Any ideas on how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    yoga101

What version of iWeb are you using and where are you hosting your site?  If you publish you site to a folder on your hard drive and open it locally with your browser does the site appear as it should?
