IWeb quitted and lost all my sites data
My iWeb quitted unexpectedly - when I reopened, it was empty, none of my sites were there. Fortunately I saved the sites to a folder, too, so the data is there. BUT I couldn't re-import the data as I found no function for importing, Dragging is not allowed either.
Anybody has an idea how to get the folders back to iWeb?
OR: downloading from web would be fine, too.

Your site data is stored in iWeb's Domain file. Here's a diagram showing where it usually resides:
If it's not there, try using Spotlight to search for the Domain file. ...It has an extension (usually hidden) of:
.sites2
But Spotlight doesn't look in all areas of the hard drive — so if no luck, download and run Find File to search for ".sites2".
And note that only iWeb's Domain file can be opened in iWeb — iWeb cannot import published HTML & media files. If you can't find the Domain file on your Mac and you don't have a backup of it, you'll have to rebuild your site from scratch.

I reinstalled my operating system (Win 7 Ultimate) and lost all my Firefox data. I had Xmarks, so I got all my book marks back, but I also had gotten another one when Xmarks said they were going to fold (which I can't remember the name of).
The last few times when I reinstalled my OS (which was years ago), there was some place where I could enter a 16-digit PIN and all my passwords, add-ons, etc, would come back...or at least that's how I remember it.

Then, this article describes how to retrieve information stored on the Sync server from a new computer using your recovery key. BTW, I'm assuming you didn't back up your hard drive on a regular basis. If you did, you would be able to get a lot closer to your previous setup. The critical stuff would be under the C:\Users\''yourusername''\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ path. -

Thanks for replying so quick. I think before the update the apps were not in the library. Now after the update the apps are in the itunes libary minus the game data. I think that happened because I tried to find my game data. I search my pc and found a previous itunes libraries folder and when I used that I found a file I clicked on a file called itunes Library 2012-01-10 that opened in the itunes library. The date on that file was the date of the upgrade to 5.0.1. when I lost all my games data.
There is another file in the itunes libcalled iTunes Library 2011-03-16 would it be worth trying to download that as it may have more game data?
I ment to say the devices tab not table it is the option in the iTunes app to find out about your device. -

It's always a good idea to keep a backup of your site
definitions by
EXPORTing them from Site Manager to cover you for just this
kind of thing.

I cant seem to download and install the latest iphone software update. I have tried since the release and have been unsuccessful on more than 7 occasions and lost all the data on the process. Anyone have that problem an how do I fix this problem?

Thanks but I have tried doing the above - when I said 7 times I was modest, its more like 15 times.
And I am referring to the 5.1 software update. I dont have wifi so I guess I will have to try that seeing that my husband also has the same problem - he has also tried downloading several times. It always times out en says that the connection is lost but yet there are always an internet connection and a decent signal once it stopped. Think it said error 32052 or something!
I am disappointed because the update includes inprovement on the battery life - did you guys notice any difference? -
I had to have the hard drive replaced on my computer and i lost all my iTunes data and I hadn't backed up my music. can I still transfer music from my iPod to a new iTunes?
Music Rescue also works as far as restoring your playlists etc. I've used it twice, you can use the Quick Recover mode, but have to click continue trial (something like that) allot, cp. to purchase option. Otherwise diesel is right as far as restoring via your purchase history.

iOS devices do backup automatically to iCloud providing:
iCloud Backup is turned on
It has a Wi-Fi connection
It is connected to a power source
The screen is off
5GB is plenty of storage for me to backup to iCloud automatically.
I have a 64GB iPhone & a 128GB iPad both backing up to the same iCloud account and I still have nearly 2GB free.
This is mainly because media is not backed up and Photo Stream & iTunes purchases do not count against your iCloud storage.

I have an iphone 4s that i got last week and i set it up just using the phone. today my dad restored it as my mothers iphone so i lost all of my data. I tried to restore it as my original phone i had but i exited out of itunes and now my phone wont showup in itunes or on my computer

If no change after restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, there is a hardware problem.

i got new iphone and when i connect it to my pc, it lost all my current data and replaced it with the backup on my computer, which is from april. so i have lost all my calendar information and schedule. does anyone know how i can reverse this and get my information back?
Every backup replaces the old one, so, unless you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you can't get back your calendar info.
The only time iTunes will not replace a backup is, when you use it to restore from, this one will stay in the backup list in iTunes.

ok turn it off manually and turn it back on while holding the apple logo bottor or the function botton this will give you an option to choose if you want to startup with osx ow windows. let me know if this works

If your messages and photos weren't part of your backup, then they're gone.
Certainly you weren't foolish enough to update the iOS on your phone before importing your photos off your phone for safe keeping on your computer like you would do with any digital camera, were you? -
