IWeb SOFTWARE UPDATE NOW AVAILABLE!!!

Just checked... and now it is here... finally! Hope it works.

I have updated. And I have uploaded one of my sites with my pictures, and it still fails. Maybe it is because I am using my previous files and should start from zero. Dunno!!! but it is not the update I had expected.
Check it and let us know. By the way, not using .Mac.

Lol, it says it's available, but it's not. Apple has had a major server crash and now everyone who was looking forward to the update being out by this morning needs to wait longer...they're trying to fix the problem but people have been told the update might not be available until later tonight or tomorrow morning...

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • HT5766 Where can I find the size of a download for a software update now?

    Hello,
Where can I find the size of a download for a software update now?
Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion (Mac OSX 10.8.3) this information is no longer available in software updates listing you get if you click on the Software Update menu item from the Apple menu.
I found the download size (often hundreds of megabytes for an individual update and sometimes a set of updates might amount to a few gigabytes) to be very helpful, and now that it seems no longer available (I can't even see it on the web page I came to for more information, thinking the download size would surely be specified there), it is frustrating. My current example is iTunes 11.0.3
I would greatly appreicate having this information back in the software updates listing, but since it is no longer available there, and I don't know where else to find it, if anybody can enlighten me to its whereabouts, I'd be grateful.
    Thanks and cheers!

  • Photoshop CC 2014.1 update now available

The Photoshop CC 2014.1 update now available.
Today we are releasing an update to Photoshop CC that includes new 3D printing features and enhancements designed to make it easier to create beautiful 3D printed designs and give you more printing options.
For more details on the release, see this announcement on the Photoshop team blog:http://blogs.adobe.com/photoshopdotco...
The update also includes several fixes, including fixing an issue with Edit In Photoshop not working from Lightroom and Photoshop commands missing from Bridge Tools menu.
    Getting the update:
Look for the update in the Creative Cloud application and click “Update”. If it doesn’t appear, you may need to quit and re-launch the Creative Cloud application.
If you don’t have the Creative Cloud application running, start Photoshop and choose Help > Updates.
The Adobe Application Manager will launch. Select Adobe Photoshop CC (2014) and choose Update.

After some search, I found this clear part of the logs:
    09/27/14 16:55:25:234 | [INFO] |  | UPDATER | CORE |  |  |  | 6760 | CFU(Webfeed): Query licensing type for LEID  = V7{}Photoshop-15-Win-GM
    09/27/14 16:55:26:015 | [INFO] |  | UPDATER | CORE |  |  |  | 6760 | A valid perpetual license found for  = V7{}Photoshop-15-Win-GM
    09/27/14 16:55:26:077 | [INFO] |  | UPDATER | CORE |  |  |  | 6760 | CFU(Webfeed): Patch is meant only for subscription licenses, but client doesn't have a valid subscription license.
    09/27/14 16:55:26:077 | [INFO] |  | UPDATER | CORE |  |  |  | 6760 | CheckForManualApplicableUpdates : default Locale was found to be---- = en_US
    09/27/14 16:55:26:077 | [INFO] |  | UPDATER | CORE |  |  |  | 6760 | CheckForManualApplicableUpdates : The update is not applicable as per licensing checks
It means the update for Photoshop 2014.1 and 2014.2 can only be installed with subscription licenses, but not on perpetual licenses (our case).
To workaround that, it would be needed to change
    <TargetLicensingType>1</TargetLicensingType>
    to
    <TargetLicensingType>3</TargetLicensingType>
    inside "UpdateManifest.xml"
But it would broken the signature of that file as recorded in "UpdateManifest.sig"
As an information, technically we have
    LicenseType 3 LicenseStatus 1 , mapped LEID V7{}Photoshop-15-Win-GM
Finally, I think only Adobe can fix this mess with PS update.

  • I did software update, now java in Safari doesn't work.

I ran software update, now Java in Safari and Firefox doesn't work. How do I fix it?

    I already tried that.
    I am running OS 10.6.8.
I did a "normal" software update (under the Apple icon).. didn't update the OS to a higher level, it's still 10.6.8. But now certain websites tell me that Java is missing or not working. When I go to the Java site, they say that you can only download the newest Java for OS 7 or higher... that Java is automatically part of OS 6 and should have automatically updated when I do a Mac software update.
Java used to work. Now that I've "updated" my Mac software, it doesn't work. And there's no way to download and install Java (according to them).
It's a never ending circle with no solution.

    Lightroom 3.3 update now available.Details here:http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2010/12/lightroom-3-3-and-came ra-raw-6-3-now-available.html

It is absolutely disappointing that the issues regarding the editing of keywords with spaces have not been addressed again. Another release where nothing is done about it. How long is this gonna take? The issue was raised long time ago and existed already in version 2. Is Adobe expecting that the DAM features of Lightroom are used by professionals? Currently, the entry of keywords with spaces is awkward and because of wrong keyword completion can lead to faulty keyword assignments. Please, do soemthing about it. The bug is already acknowledged.

I bought a used macbook pro from a friend. Software updates are available, but when I try to update, the computer asks for apple id and will only accept the former owner´s. How can I connect my macbook to my apple id?

The first thing you should do after acquiring a used computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model. Look it up on this page to see what version was originally installed.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the gray installation discs that came with it. If you don't have the discs, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, it should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
Once booted from the disc or in Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, buy it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.

I'm getting bugged by my gf.. she has an unbranded 5800, a CV but it's stuck on v21.. problem is, her phone is hanging at the start of, during, and at the end of calls.. locking up hard. Thing is, we've never installed anything new on the phone with the exception of the maps update.. She does use it as an alarm clock, so I guess she'd be particularly miffed at it being inaccurate (like I was with my N97.. I now use a real alarm clock instead.. pittyful, I know!)
Introducing timing issues.. I think she can cope with.. She's not using it to read/access email she really just wants a working phone.. I didn't realise how bad it had got until I observed its performance first hand over a day.. 2 crashes! ouch!
So, seeing as Nokia haven't released a CV variant for this product code since v21 (which was very late when it came out earlier this year) and it is very nearly a year old.. is it worth forcing the update issue to try and get a Euro generic v31? Has anyone else noticed basic usage stability improvements? That's the key thing.. new features, speed aren't too important.. its the ability to answer a call without removing the battery that's getting her down

  • OSX 10..4.7 Update Now Available - How Is It?

The 10.4.7 OSX update is now available in Downloads!

    Hello,
That's OK, I can take it.
    Figured you could
It is important to remember to do a full backup as
you never know what might happen.
Exactly. That is the most important thing.
It's funny, on my PC I expect it to get all wonky
with an update and do not really have a backup. On my
Mac, I do not expect anything to ever go wrong and
yet I do a full clone every other day or whenever I
have started or saved a project.
That's pretty much the same thing here.
I'm an old PC guy. So, I have much more experience with those than I do with Macs. I'm a former Microsoft OEM, and have some Microsoft training, and used to be a system builder, and a service center.
So, I've had my hands in Windows a lot over the years.
One thing is that Windows does get squirrelly once in a while. But, it rarely goes down to the level that you cannot reboot and go in and fix the problem.
You wouldn't believe how infrequently I would re-install on a seemingly hopeless machine for a customer.
It was my last resort. And, I could usually fix a Windows glitch without a re-install. You just had to boot into the right mode, and repair the specific error. Basically, you just needed to know how to listen to the symptoms and find their cause.
But, with the Mac OS, it seems that there are a lot of errors that are quite fatal. So, I see the option of Re-installing as a more frequent occurrence.
There are a lot of things that can still be fixed. But, there are a lot of dead-ends as well.
So, on the PC, I just keep my data backed-up on CD or DVD. And, I'm protected from Data loss. But, I never worry about a full-backup on the PC. I just don't need to be concerned about re-installing that often.
I've never had a Windows Update (Microsoft's Software Update) go bad. They've always been smooth, and install without a single glitch.
One significant difference in Microsoft's method, is that they make sure that programs being updated are closed before the installer actually performs the update. And, I think that goes a long way towards success.
I think the automated update reliability is one area that Microsoft has Apple beat.
I use automatic update for everything on my PC. Usually, I don't even know it's updating until it gives me the little flag that says updates have been done. I say O.K. and go on about my business.
But, on the Mac, I download every Major OS update manually and install them myself.
I do use Software update to pick the minor updates for me. But, I use the "Download Only" option and install them myself after repairing permissions and rebooting.
I will sometimes use the Software Update to download and install the minor updates. In that case, I'll repair permissions, reboot, then run Software Update.
If I have Software Update download and install for me, I use the "Install and keep packages" option. That way I have them if I ever do need to re-install again. It saves me downloading them again later. That, and I also use those same updates to install on my wife's computer. So, I only download them once instead of twice.

  • Just did software update, now mail won't open!!

I just ran a software update and now may mail application won't open. These are the five updates that I installed:
    Backup 3.1.1
    iPhoto 6.0.6
    Airport Base Station 5.1
    iTunes 7.2
Mac OSX Update Combined (PowerPC) 10.4.10
I don't think I needed to install that last one, about the Power PC....Anyone know if that is enough to keep my Mail App. from openenig? I can still check my e-mail via .Mac, just not through my Mail Appliacation.

Did you download the correct Combo for PPC, since it
appears you do not have an Intel Mac?
If the correct Combo version, then I think you should
run Disk Repair from the original Tiger install disk
to check out your hard drive.
How much free disk space do you have on your hard
drive, or if partitioned, on the boot partition?
    Ernie
    Ernie,
thanks for the suggestions. I'm not quite the Mac expert I'd like to be, so bear with me please. How do I know if I downloaded "the correct Combo for PPC, since it appears you do not have an Intel Mac?" Wouldn't my computer automatically download the correct one? How can I check if it's the right one? ALSO,
How do I "run Disk Repair from the original Tiger install disk to check out your hard drive"? Do I need to insert the original startup disk again, or can I do it without it?
When doing info on my mac, it says I only have 6.1 GB left available. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!!
