Iweb themes

I've built a web site using the highlighter theme in iweb, and I've noticed when I publish and view my site, there's still a grey frame around the outside of my actual pages. Is there a way I can change the color of that?
Thanks!
Jennifer

I had a play in iWeb and I managed to come up with a way of getting rid of the shadow along the sides.
I created a new Welcome page in the Highlighter theme and then opened inspector. Select the second tab along and choose the layout button as Hazell mentioned however this time choose Page background and change it to Color fill (rather than image).
Click on the white color square to open the color selector palette and then on any of the different methods of choosing a color select the magnifying glass. Move the magnifier up to the thin yellow strip that remains for the header and when you have the crosshairs over a nice bit of yellow click your mouse once. The page background will now be the right color and there will be no shadow.
There will be a little bit of an overlap though so go back to Inspector and in the Layout section change the page width to 697px. One side of the Page will now line up with the header (and footer) images.
Now click once on the Header image and using the white image handles drag it out to the left a couple of pixels (until it lines up). Repeat that for the footer.
Job done...sort of. You still have the shadow above the header and below the footer but it has got rid of the shadow on the page so it isn't as noticable.
Hope that helps.

  • IWeb theme creation (from scratch) documentation?

Is there any documentation available from Apple or other sources that describe how to create an iWeb theme from scratch (without modifying an existing theme)? I am an experienced web developer, and a client wants me to create a custom theme for use in iWeb.
I've done several searches, and thus far, have only found instructions for modifying an existing template.

    not until apple decides to.
iweb templates are xml, and apple does not provide the xml schema for them.
best you can do is modding the existing xml template:

I would like an immediate reaccredit of my account after buying an app that do not work,  iWeb Theme Designs, v1.0, Éditeur : Vitalijus Vysniauskas (4 ).. this app is not compatible with iweb french

You will not receive direct help with this problem by posting here. Everyone here is just a fellow user, so all you'll get here is advice on how to proceed.
You can contact Mac App Store Customer Service and ask for a refund, but there is no guarantee you'll get one. Before you ask for a refund, I'd suggest contacting the developer and asking for assistance:
    http://www.iwebthemespark.com/Support.html
If they tell you there's no solution, that will give you a better case to present to the App Store for justifying a refund.

  • New iWeb theme templates for sale

I thought I saw several new iWeb theme templates for sale several weeks ago about the time the 1.1 themes came out. They were priced at around $12 or $15 dollars or so. Anyone know where they are?
    Thanks,
    Chuck

    Hi Chuck!
It's been a long time since I've seen you around! Welcome back.
Suzanne Boben is the queen of the iWeb templates. She sells her custom created templates on her website:
    http://www.11mystics.com
Take a look. Hope it's what you were looking for. I know she's been busy with her latest creation "Aerolite". Good luck.

  • Iweb themes that take the entire page (left to right)

I have created and finally uploaded my iweb 09 created website (after many attempts and lots of frustration!). Anyway, I used the leaf theme but am not happy about how narrow the text field is. Are there any iweb themes (free or for purchase) that have a larger text area than the free themes offered by iweb?
    Thanks!

You can always enlarge your page and you don't need to use a template either. Why not just select the white template and customise your whole site just the way you want it? It is so easy to do and you can then have your site whatever width you want and whatever colours you want - your can build your own text based nav menu and have that where you want rather than being limited by the template page nav bar.
Just experiment around with iWeb a little and see what works - play around and you can get a nice looking site the way you want it and with the colour schemes that you want without having to pay a penny for more templates.
Give it a try before purchasing any further templates.

  • Looking forApple Inspired iweb Theme - please help

    good day to you
i love the apple site and i want to built a new website for my family and i want it to look like the apple site
i searched for something like this in google and can't find something i like
    i saw this template :
    http://www.pagelines.com/themes/iblogpro/
    but it's for wordpress
can someone help me get and buy this theme for iweb?

You'll have to do a Google search for iWeb themes and see what you find out there. There are a number of sites that do offer themes but don't know if any of them are close to the Apple site. You may have to start with a blank white theme page and create your own.

  • Location of iWeb themes (templates)

Hi, do you know where are located iWeb themes (templates) in Finder? I'd like to use background picture used in Podcast page of Watercolour theme for Blog page of the same theme - there's a different picture used in background. There's no way how to change it directly in iWeb but there's an option to use background picture located anywhere in my Mac. So probably, if I'll know where themes (templates) are located, I might be able to succeed :-)
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks a lot.

In the Finder do Command-Shift-G and paste the line below.
         /Applications/iWeb.app/Contents/Resources/Themes/
Then hit Return. Right-Click a Theme and choose Show Package content.

  • IWeb Theme / Template Download

    Hi,
Is there any section here in Apple website that provide iWeb Theme / Template download for free?
    Thank you.

    Hi Dimaxum,
thank you very much for the reply. But I have visited that website before, and I have Googled some other websites. Seems like there is not much free iWeb theme available (like wordpress or joomla theme :D).
So it would be great if here in this site are available some free iWeb theme to download, either provided by Apple or the community.
    Thank you

  • How do i import old iWeb themes to the latest version of iWeb ?

I just got an iMac. Ive done this prviously on my macbook but totaly forgot how to do it. Help

Are you sure you're referring to iWeb and not iDVD?  IDVD does have older themes that can be installed separately from the application.  iWeb has all of its themes inside the application itself and adding additional themes from 3rd parties require an installer that can modify several files inside the application as well as place the theme files where they need to go.
I don't remember any themes from the older iWeb being dropped in the latest version.

  • Question to whomever can offer rescue!  PRE 08' iWeb - Theme menu issues.

    Hey all!
I had a crash recently and had to reload everything, and now iWeb is the only program that remains a mess. I no longer have the theme choices I used to, including blank pages - despite repeated reinstalls and upgrades! arrrggghh!! what step am I missing here? I've managed to circumvent most problems using .Mac & iWeb, but I'm constructing more sites using this tool and fear a gliche along the way if I don't get this resolved. PLUS - I refuse to upgrade to 08' until it starts getting better reviews!!!
    Thanks to all!

  • Is there any Blogger themes like iWeb's blog theme?

I Like iWeb's blog theme, but actually iweb is not easy to use.
Is there any way to export iweb blog theme for blogger(blogspot.com) using?
Or, is there already a theme for blogger which is like iweb blog style?
    thanks a lot.

Is there any way to export iweb blog theme for blogger(blogspot.com) using?
There is no export option of a iWeb theme.
When you publish iWeb pages, the objects (html, images and styles) that make the theme are in the published folder.
You have to edit a blogspot theme to display these objects.

  • Caution:buying themes for iWeb in MAS can be a problem

A few weeks ago I bought Themes for iWeb, and it just didn't work. I asked for help from the developers, but then the changes totally destroyed iWeb and my site.
I now notice another themes for iweb on the Mac App Store and all the reviews say it not only doesn't work, it does the same thing for iweb in Lion. Read all the reviews and the warning from Apple to get a feel for problems that can arise.
I don't blame developers, other than for the fact they should have tested it out. I suspect that last update from Apple for iWeb made it functional in Lion, but without its code, no themes will be working.
Now, I love iWeb, but seeing the handwriting and all, am moving to another website creator. Considering how much trouble I had with the destruction of my site, I want to warn off people from buying any themes package that doesn't clearly say it has been tested in Lion.
    Hugh

I just reinstalled iweb and the updates. Actually, it may be a blessing as it will force me to redo the site and check every link. In the last year a few just don't work anymore.
I find that I can copy and paste pretty well from the site still on the web, and use the old video from YouTube.
Some stuff is gone, but all in all, it was an interesting lesson.
I got cocky because I knew the trick of making sure I duplicated and saved the domainsites file.
I know I had at least one sitesfile that was original and perfect, but didn't work.
    Oh well.
I really do like iweb. Now I think I will not be the first to download software again.
In fairness, while the software didn't work, I did play around in the application support, iweb, themes section a lot more than I should have.

  • Create and Save a Theme on IWeb 9

I want to know if there is a way to create a theme and then saved to use the same color in new web site pages for the same web site. I have read some post and I understand that que easy way is copy/paste, but i think than theres a better way to do this.
thank you for your time and See you !

I'm trying to imagine an easier way than copy/paste.
    Teleportation?
    Do what I do.
    1. Create a page that functions as a theme.
    2. Duplicate the page and add content to it.
    3. Repeat 2
    Here's a samplepage : http://cafenoir.atspace.com/Maaskant/Bogus.html
More sample pages on the same site.
Here's a site that tells you how to create iWeb theme files :
