Iweb to a hosting provider

I have a question that I need some serious help with.
Here's the story.
I have created two websites on iweb.
I needed to upload them to the hosting service (hosting365.com). So I used their FTP.
Everything is uploaded correctly.
I am trying to upload this to my domain. It wont work.
I email the tech support guys from the hosting company.
They advised that they investigated my account, and everything looks fine (on the server side), except the code. They said "Please be advised that the web server is serving the exact content that is in the user's index.html file. The problem would seem to lie in how you made the page."
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
In iweb and once published on my desktop everything seems ok and looks exactly the way I create it.
I'm a complete novice at all this.
I'm very confused.

So I used their FTP
Don't do that. Use a real ftp program like cyberduck. Otherwise there is a good chance things will be messed up.

You need a Wb Hosting service & an ftp client, if you need more info reply with that & what kind of files/folders it made.

Iweb/fetch/godaddy hosting-not loading

Need help. I designed my website on iweb and bought hosting thru godaddy, used fetch for FTP--tried to load the site and it wouldn't appear when I went to my site. I asked godaddy support for help. Here's how they answered:

Can someone tell me in simple terms how to solve this problem? Obviously I have no idea what I'm doing, I just want to get my website up and running.I could really use the help. thx

That does not sound correct. The instructions tell you to upload two items: the folder which has the same name as you gave your site inside the iweb app, plus the index.html file which iWeb creates alongside that folder. The folder also has an index.html inside it, and that is fine, but in your server space you must be able to see two separate items, one file called index.html and one folder with the name you gave your site.
To avoid possible confusion, try publishing to your desktop, so you can clearly see the index.html file and folder which iWeb creates and which both need to be uploaded.

Troubleshooting suggestions:
Ensure the page you are linking to exists in the correct folder.
Check your file name for case sensitivity . Index.htm is not the same as index.htm!
Temporarily disable any rewrite rules by renaming your .htaccess file if it exists
is the problem with
iweb or with hosting?
One Apple tech started to fix Iweb and had to end session and the next said problem with hosting at Network Solutions as it published
to local folder. NWS has checked sttting a few times-
Any help would be extremely appreciated as trying to fix this for about five weeks

Since Mobile Me is going away, I moved my iWeb pages to iPage. I started a blog but it won't allow readers to leave comments. Help says this feature is only available when hosted on MobileMe but MobileMe is going away! Does anyone know a way to enable reader comments to an iWeb created blog hosted on iPage?

The easiest way to correct your color problem is to upload the Disqus code as an HTML doc and display it in an iframe on your page. This way you can keep the black iWeb page and have the comments with a white background.
Open a text editor and paste your code. Export as HTML giving it a name like - comments.html
Upload this to the root folder on your server in a folder named - Disqus
The URL for the iframe code will be...

This is the code for the HTML Snippet and you can change the height and width to suit your layout...

Note that you need to add an identifier to each file if you want to use several - one for each blog entry.

The identifiers can simply be numbers like 0001, 0002, etc
The alternative is to style your own page if you want your comments section to have a black background. Disqus has a customizing option or you can create your own styles and add them to the head of the comments.html doc or reference a separate stylesheet. I am a Creative Cloud member seeking to create my own company's website and have it hosted by Business Catalyst via Muse. May I also host/provide email addresses? When you purchase Adobe Creative cloud Subscription , you get 5 free Business catalyst sites that are under Web Basic plan. I am afraid , this plan does not include hosted email service. Is there any domain hosting provider that supports dynamic DNS of the variety that supports "dynamic global hostname" used by Mac OS X, accessed in the Sharing control panel, and used by AirPort Express and Time Machine? I am referring to the Dynamic DNS method specified by IETF RFC 2136.

Any VPS provider will give you full control over your BIND installation.

Possibly because dropbox is not really a proper webhost - it might be better if you went and signed up for proper web hosting from somewhere like http://www.godaddy.com or http://www.hostexcellence.com.
Have you told Google that you site exists? If not, then you need to do so - http://www.google.com/addurl.

Hi, I need to upload my Muse site http://www.bilyz.com to a recommended hosting provider. After months of circuitous emailing with my current hosting provider they have at last confess that they are unfamiliar with Adobe Muse. The FTP upload worked initially but I have been unable to upload modified files and would appreciate learning of a tried and proven host that also provides good support. When I telephone my current supplier I am told they are receiving an unprecedented high number of calls and that I should raise an enquiry ticket via my control panel. Then I wait weeks to receive an email (that doesn't accept replies) from some person who obviously has not read my enquiry ticket message. Naturally, for reasons of telephone costs, I would prefer a UK host. Looking forward to your advice! Kind regards

Reasonably priced / UK based & best of all...works fine with Muse FTP upload.
Customer support is also the best I've had!

Domain name and hosting provider

Can anyone recommend a good domain name and hosting provider (preferably based in Australia if possible) that I can use to set up my customers' websites? I'm with Domain Central and ready to hang myself. I've been with them for 3 years and decided to stay because it was just too hard to leave, but if I could find something better I'd be out of there. The interface is the most confusing, erronious, complex, slow, antiquated and difficult piece of software I've ever known and the help documentation in way relates to what is actually there.
I have a reseller account with them, which means I buy the domain name and hosting space at about half the price that it would normally be, make a small profit on it, and still pass on a good rate to my customers. Domain Central is cheap, but after this latest fiasco, I've wasted so much time on Help desk it's not worth it. I want a provider that has an easy to use, straightforward website, so I can sign up for some sort of reseller account, buy the domain name and hosting at a discounted rate, do the name servers and all that stuff myself and even set up email accounts without too much grief and suffering.
Any advice would be so appreciated. What do other web designers do? I've come to the point of having a hollow feeling of dread when I log in to Domain Central : (

I'd recommend heading over to www.webhostingtalk.com . You'll get a better and faster response. But you will need to be more specific for them with your needs. The registrar part is simple, but the hosting you should add in what type of plan you think you are looking for (reseller, VPS, dedicated), how much space/bandwidth you require, environment (Unix vs Windows), database/scripting information, etc., etc.

Oracle DB license on cloud hosting provider

Hello,
one of our customers have a valid license for their onsite application. Now, they want to transfer this application to a cloud provider (not Azure not Amazon) and we wonder if the license will be still valid or not.
I have tried to find something about this, but it's still not clear for me (license *all* the hosts of the provider for a small application it just doesnt make sense). It could be valid in case of named-user licensing , and not per-CPU licensing?
Also, we wil consider in the future to move the application into a kind-of-SaaS format. This is, a dedicated virtual server on a hosting provider (different than the big ones) but this server only dedicated for one customer. Each customer would have their own virtual server. How should we license the databse? per-user o per-cpu?

The existing license will probably still be 'valid' but most likely insufficient to cover the requirement. If it's not Azure or Amazon (i.e. not one of Oracle's 'Authorized Cloud Environments' (by the way, where is Oracle Cloud??)) then you / your customer will struggle. It'll be a case of licensing every physical server that makes up the cloud. I agree, this does not make sense, but this is what would happen. See here
Named User license, assuming DBEE, would require minimums based on hardware so this doesn't help you: if the cloud provider adds another server to the environment there would be an automatic need to increase licensing. This is very risky. Consider DBSE, if at all possible (Named User Plus licenses for DBSE are NOT based on hardware and are considerably cheaper than DBEE).
For your KoSaaS (that's another new one for the acronym list!), ignore the virtual servers; Oracle is only interested in physical servers. Named User Plus or Processor really boils down to how 'countable' the users at the client-end actually are. For the avoidance of any potential non-compliance, I'd strongly recommend Processor unless you can guarantee Named User Plus license is equal to or greater than the number of Named User Plus. See here. You also need to consider hosting rights, if you are providing the license-there are consequences of someone else using 'your' Oracle software for their business benefit.
I have to base my answer on assumptions and standard T&Cs etc; this response is supplied without detailed knowledge of your situation or requirements.

Iweb/itunes problem - host parameter is null

i use iweb to publish and host our website. everything works fine, except... i have never been able to successfully publish a podcast to itunes through iweb. the error message in itunes is that the host parameter is null. i'm really scratching my head on this, because why would iweb offer an application that does not sync up with itunes automatically? please help!

The feed appears to be OK: it references a media file:
