  • Firefox display website in other language but I want English

There are a lot of store websites that has different languages. I am Chinese but I set up my firefox in English and that's the only language but whenever I go to a website it will automatically go to the Chinese website.

Some sites automatically redirect you to a site in the local language, based on where your IP locates you.
There is usually a link on such websites choose a language or go to an international version that allows to choose the language.

  • Open iweb website in other program?

    Hallo guys,
I've been using iweb and now I just bought a new macbook pro and iweb isn't there anymore.
    1) I heard downloading isn't possible;
    2) I've tried to install from my old disk, from my macbook white 09, but it wouldn't allow me to install.
    3) I'm not willing to buy a new copy, as I already owned one.
But then, how I'm I supposed to keep my websites that were created with iweb?
Thought about an alternative program, but I still didn't find…
    Does anyone have a tip?
    Thanks a lot!
    Priscila.

Ok, it worked with the time machine!
I just navigated in the data of my backup (without starting the time machine program to do it, as I didn't configured it yet to the new macbook) went to the applications folder and dragged the iweb to my new application folder. It started normally, but I still have to bring back my domain files.
Thanks a lot for the help, Roddy, it made the ideas clear again!

  • Other language possible than Javascript?

I am new to developing apps for Office 2013. I see that you need to program in JavaScript. Is it also to program in VB.NET? My apps only need to run on Windows machines.

    Hi,
no this is not possible. "Office Apps" are by design web applications and the only way to interact between Office and your app is the Javascript library provided by Microsoft. If your app is not just a simple website but also contains server side
code (for example ASP.NET MVC webapplication), than you can of course work on that side with VB.NET.
The other thing you could do is think about writing an excel add in or something like that, but this is again something completely different than an app (app != add in). Add Ins are for example not released in the app store and need to be installed locally
    etc.

  • Anyone Using iWeb for Other LANGUAGE content?

    Hi,
Do any iWeb user create their website with other language such as Chinese,Japanese,Korean...??

    Hi Tom,
    Thanks for the kindness!
OK.I've create some entries of blog and name it with English and Chinese..while click on it when published it shown at the URL as www.xxx.com/blog/iloveuxxxx(with chinese words)...
When i try to email the similiar address above to others...the link will not complete because of the Chinese words...means,the link will only highlight as www.xxx.com/blog/iloveu and the xxx(chinese words) can't be highlighting...at last, friends unable to log on the full address...
Because of that issue..i've decided to changed the entries' title to English Only...now i publishing the iWeb and visit my website after published and click on the entries of blog as i said above..and the URL shown the same address as before i changed...however i publish and even publish all to MME..i doesn't work...
Do anyone know what's happen to the issue above?shall i delete the chinese words in every html of the entries' blog?
    Thanks and Appreciate!!

But what can I cut and paste? the html code or image and text directly?
depend on which template you used.
if you use iweb photos page template then you need to search for my photos page solutions in this forum.
@ot: cut and paste from the online version
@rw: You can drag an image from the website to the Desktop
have your try your methods in iweb photos page?

  • Is it possible to have English as the interface language, but use (and develope for) any other language/locale?

Before installing Firefox, I need to clarify the following:
The use of locales: I am a developer and my preferable language, for the interface, is English (though, it is not my mother tongue). But, I would like to be able to use any other language (including, the use of any dictionary) and develop for any language or locale. So, does the English version let me do the above mentioned?
Or, eg, do I need to install the Hebrew locale, if I want to use the Hebrew dictionary?
Or, is it possible to install different locales on the same computer (and for the same user, in Win XP)?

You can install any dictionary is every locale, so that shouldn't be a problem if you use the English locale.
If you want to check out the user interface or how the browser acts with an RTL locale like Hebrew then you need to install the language pack and switch to that locale.
You can install additional language packs in any Firefox version.

  • Can I move a new iweb website into my iweb and still keep my other sites?

My friend has an iweb created website on his computer that he wants me to start managing. I have two websites on my computer that I am already managing. Is there any way to transfer his iweb website into my iweb with out affecting the websites I am already managing?

    See this Apple doc:

...Once you've transferred the Domain file, double-clicking it will open it in iWeb. Your already existing Domain file containing your sites probably here:

  • IWeb site in multiple languages

Making a site in iWeb is very simple, but what about a site where the end-user chooses his language?
Standaard buttons for the slideshow, etc... are translated to the developer's language. While it is possible that I want a page where the language is different to mine.

Switching languages in System Preferences / International did the job for me.
Now I have a Welcome website which links to a site in English and another one in Spanish.
Easy it is not, but difficult it isn't either. Just exit iWeb, go to System Preferences, International, drag your new language to the top of the list and start iWeb again.
Just organize your work so you don't have to be switching languages all the time.
You can even have pages in different languages within the same website. I just chose not to do it this way because it would crowd my navigation menu.
I still think this is not friendly at all so I sent some feedback to iweb support.

  • Website in several language

    Hi!
I have publish my website in swedish with my iweb and it is ok but now I would like to have the same website in another language. I would have in my first webpage (the welcome page) a link to my website in english. Is it possible with iWeb?
I want that my customers can chose the language for to read my webpage, is it possible with iWeb?
    Best regards
    Stefano Ruggieri

You probably need to create parallel sites. It might be easiest to do this by running iWeb in different user accounts set to the language you want to use, so all the buttons will be in the right language.
You can let customers chose by creating hyperlinks to the different parallel sites on the topmost page of each one.

  • How do I publish a website in two languages?

    Hi!
I'm pretty new to IWeb, I'm trying to publish my website in Spanish, and also in English. How do I do this without duplicating the buttons in the navigation bar? Say I want a flag to be the switch button, and then when I go to the Welcome page in the other language, I just want to see the navigation bar in that particular language.
    Thanks for any help!

One method is to create two pages of each page, one for your primary language and one for the second language.  You can put small flag buttons on each page sending the visitor to the page which the flag represents.
When creating the pages you can use Language Switcher with iWeb to change languages when working on the pages.

  • Transfer iWeb website to another account on MacBook.

I'd like to transfer my iWeb website to another account on my MacBook. Is this Possible?

Yes.  Copy or move the Domain.sites2 file that is located in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the same folder in the other user account on your Mac.  The other user account will have to be logged in to the same MobileMe account as your are.

  • Password Protect My iWeb Website

Hey I have a iWeb website it is not using the mobile me option for hosting I using ftp how can I password protect my whole site?

    Try this :
    [password-protect-a-directory-with-htaccess |http://www.addedbytes.com/articles/password-protect-a-directory-with-htaccess>
But I think that if this is possible, there might be an easier way with a cpanel like solution.
If all else fails, find another webhoster that offers the service.

  • Importing non-iWeb websites consructed with Reunion 8.0 Genealogy Software

I constructed a website of my entire genealogy records using REUNION 8.0 and used ftp to upload it to my Charter.net server. Is it possible to either upload this same website to iWeb or to import the complete website into iWeb so it can then be uploaded to my .MAC account?
    MAC G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

In this day-and-age, I'm not so sure how wise it is to post that kind of personal data on the net for all to see (especially identity thieves!) Do you have that password protected so only those who you want to see it, will?
However, if you do want everyone to be able to access that info, you could link to it from iWeb and keep it on your "charter.net" server.
You could also manually put it into your .Mac account and link to it there.
I don't think you are able to somehow import it into iWeb on your computer - it only deals with iWeb pages.
