  • Some page links not working when I publish iweb site to desktop folder?

I just created a photo website using iweb. All the links to pages, etc. work fine in the programme but when I go to publish it to folder to check it on a web page some of the page links don't work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Even though you have deactivated the iWeb navigation menu, the navigation layer still exists and is blocking your custom links. Open the Inspector Page tab and try changing the value for Header Height to zero. See if this does anything for you. If not, then try increasing the Header Height value incrementally. This pushes the navigation layer down your page and maybe out of the way of your custom links.
Of course, there is also the question of whether you custom links are placed on the page as a header element or as a regular page element. You can put elements into the header or footer layers by holding down the Apple key while dragging the elements until you see the header/footer outline highlight in blue.
If your custom links are header elements, then increasing the header height to push the navigation layer down will probably help. If your custom links are page elements, then decreasing the header height to zero might be more likely to help.

  • Iweb page links not working??

HELP!! I am very new to MAC and even newer to IWEB.
I have tried making a website, and part way through decided to delete the welcome page and add a new welcome page. Now for some reason the page links are not working on the welcome page??
    Please help

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Are you referring to the links in the navbar? Try using the File->Publish All to MobileMe menu option. Also make sure there are no items that are overlapping the navbar area.

  • Interactive page links not working in Google viewer

    Hello,
I created a PDF from InDesign and wanted to embed jumps from page to page.
Specifically, they're arrows with text that the viewer can click on to jump from
    page to page.
I tested them in Acrobat Reader and they work. I test emailed myself the PDF
to my gmail account. When I clicked on the PDF to View it, it opened Google's
    PDF viewer.
All well and good except that those page jumps don't work.
I have 2 other hyperlinks in the PDF. One is a link to a Google map (Works fine).
The other is a link to email me.
Again, testing the PDF in Acrobat the email link works. I typed in "mailto:blahblah" in
    the URL field.
But in Google docs, that link isn't working.
My fear is that many people will in fact use the Google docs to view the PDF. Is there a way
to fix this? Am I better off doing this interactivity in Acrobat Pro instead of InD?
    Thanks.
    Jane

Am I better off doing this interactivity in Acrobat Pro instead of InD?
Why would you? It works in Acrobat, doesn't it?
It really, really, really sounds like the problem lies with Google's PDF viewer.
My concern is that I could imagine a lot of recipients clicking View in gmail rather than downloading the PDF and then viewing.
There are similar issues with Preview on the Mac. The standard advice, therefore, is to recommend Acrobat to view your document.

  • IWeb page does not load photos when published on Firefox?

    Hello,
I just started using iWeb, and created a webpage to share photos with my friends and family. Today when I updated (published) some new photos there is a problem with the website displaying on Firefox (the photos do not load and the links are not active).
Seems to work fine on Safari, but I think Firefox is the most common browser these days...
    Anyone else experienced this problem?
    thanks
    Greg

    Greg:
The FF3 problem was corrected with the advent of the 2.0.4 iWeb update. If you haven't updated to that version so do and then do a Publish All to MobileMe. If you are running 2.0.4 do a Publish All to MobileMe and try Firefox again. Be sure to clear the cache also.

  • Web Services on Server 4 - Home page links not working

We have recently upgraded our server to Server 4.
We use the "Home Page" of the default web server as a starting point for access to web enabled services on the server - so Wiki, web version of Calendar, User Password setting etc.
Back in Server 2 this page came preconfigured with a grid of icons you could click on to get to these services.
I'm not sure what you get in Server 3 or Server 4, but our start page has remained the same ever since.  However since the upgrade, we've noticed the behaviour of the buttons on the screen has changed - so now when you click on (say) the Wiki button, all that happens is the page reloads - you no longer go to the Wiki.
If you click on the drop-down menu under the button in top left of the window and choose the same option from there, the wiki (or whatever) opens OK.
I'd like to fix the function of the buttons on the home page - but the option to edit this page is severely constrained by the Wiki system itself: Apple use some kind of Javascript call linked to the default buttons to open the service, but you can't edit this via the wiki editor.  As the page itself is a database entry in the database driving the Wiki, you can't go and edit the source HTML for the page either.
Does anyone know how to fix this?  Or maybe how to force the Wiki system to revert to the Server4 equivalent of the 'default' home page?  I'm wondering if somewhere between Server 2 and Server 4 the javascript libraries loaded by Wiki have changed and so the buttons no longer function due to missing libraries or something.
Anyhow - any help with this would be most welcome.  Thanks in advance!

Hi Jeff. You've got a GoToLink action on the home page that's pointing to a page with this name:
    Elaine's Blog Page.html
The spaces aren't really valid (or at least ideal) for a file name, but what's really causing the problems is the apostrophe. It's causing a JavaScript error on the page, which prevents any of the actions from working. To fix it, you'd need to either remove the apostrophe from the page's name (and make sure to re-link it in the Actions palette), or escape the apostrophe with a backslash in the Actions palette like:
    Elaine\'s Blog Page.html

  • Why is my named anchor link not working

    Can someone please help.
I am a novice at Dreamweaver - but my website works well with almost all links working.
    Situation :
The problem lies on the following page  www.ozonesystems.co.uk/airunits
There are 7 links in the table which point to Named Anchors
While browsing in Internet Explorer, all links work perfectly
While in MozillaFirefox or Google Chrome, only the fist 2 links work. The remaining 5 links do not redirect me to the appropriate section (anchor) on the page. There is no error message.
Can anybody please help with this problem?
    Thanks - Roy Marnewick

    Hi Jon
Many thanks for your reply and comments.
I am a real novice. I used ApDiv's only because I had a problem in getting images and text to reside where I intended them to be placed - and this was the only way which I discovered would achieve the result I required. I do not want to re-invent the wheel, so I will just live with problems which may appear to those using different size text, and hope there are minimal visitors doing this!
I will visit the link which you have provided to resolve the minor errors. Thanks for the link.
It is good to hear that (hopefully) the problem is not as widespread as I thought it might be as you did not experience a problem while browsing with Firefox36 and Chrome40. I will try and clear the browser cache as suggested - do not know how - but will try and find out.
    Thanks & Regards
    Roy Marnewick

  • Navigation Bar "Down Image" not working

I'm using the Navigation barr tool in Dreamweaver MX 2004, and I've inputted the "Up image", "Over image", and "Down image". But for whatever reason, the down state is not being applied. When I click on that specific page, it reverts back to the "Up image". Any ideas?
    here is my site: http://www.bridgeresource.com
    thanks in advance!

To have contextually-appropriate 'down' images, give each 'button' an ID (id="home"), and each page an ID (<body id="homepage">).
In your CSS file, you can then control which image shows on which page:
    body#homepage #home {background-img: url( path to the 'down image goes here );}
    body#aboutuspage #about {...etc. etc.
Be sure to put the id calls into the appropriate tags on the pages; you can do this in a template file, and use editable attributes on the body ID.
    Z
I use DW CS4; if you use an earlier version, you may have to hand code some of this (like the editable attributes I mentioned).

  • Navigation toolbar goto link not working

We are creating a custom library and I want to be able to link from the library's html to one of the navigation toolbar custom icons we created.
I have tested that the custom icon works but I can't seem to link to it from the html of the custom library we have created.
I have tried using <a href="goto://ApplicationViewState/contentviewer">Open content viewer toolbar item</a> and <a href="goto://contentviewer">Open content viewer toolbar item</a> neither work.
If I change the link to http://www.yahoo.com that works
Here is the navigation item screen from the app builder. (v32)

I created a function to simplify this
    function openViewer() {
        alert(adobeDPS.version + " - before call");
        adobeDPS.configurationService.gotoState("contentviewer");
        alert(adobeDPS.version + " - after call");
The first thing I noticed is I was on version 1.3  So, I upgraded to 1.4
Then I noticed I wasn't getting to the "after call" alert...So I started playing around with the capitalization and parameter and got it to work with the expected case and goto link name.
    Thanks.
Now I would like to pass a parameter between the the two, I'm guessing querystrings or # something won't work.
But, that's probably a separate topic.

  • The pirate bay page and links not working on firefox

First of all, the website in question(thepiratebay.se) works normal on IE with no issue.
On Firefox however, attempts to click on 'ANYTHING' on this sites' webpage results in no effect. This includes the text/search box where the text indicator does not show up or any of the link on the page will not work. When mousing over the hyperlinks or objects on the page, the cursor does not change to a 'finger' and a small box area around the pointer jitters/pull the texts or graphics within it like a 0x magnifying glass that ran over the texts. Right-clicking anywhere on the page(text, blank or graphics) yield a flash applet menu with the first line(greyed out) indicating 'movie not loaded' and the second line 'About adobe flash player v11.4.402.256...'. These symptoms extends to all sub-pages of the site after skipping to them using Google search. This issue ONLY affects 'thepiratebay.se' thus far to my knowledge.
I'm using Firefox v15.0 and recently updated the Flash plugin to the latest version before Firefox request and updated to 15.0.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Shockwave Flash browser plugin as well as clearing all cache/history/form/etc.. to no avail...

I have exactly the same thing happening here, only in Firefox. Like you say it does work fine in other browsers but if you start a private browsing window in FF it works fine..very strange!

  • IWeb Page Navigational Links not working with Internet Explorer 7

I'm hoping someone can help me out here? My wife created her 1st website using iWeb. I am testing the sites functionality before we publish it. All the pages and links work fine on Firefox and Safari for windows. However, the page navigational links are not working on Internet Explorer 7. All I see is a dot to the left side of where the page links should be. When I start the site in IE7 I get an Active X script warning and I am asked if I want to allow the script to run; to which I reply yes. After I allow the Active X script the dot to the left side of where the page links should be disappears, but the links do not appear.
Is there anyway to resolve this? Most of the members of her club have Windows based PCs and are using IE7.

Yes, Javascript is running on IE7 and other java script applets appear to be working with the exception of the Navbar script.
It would be great if my wife's friends used a "real" browser, unfortunately 70% of the people on the web use IE7, so this is a real concern if we can't get this to work. I'v seen other iWeb site on IE7 that seem to function fine, so I'm not sure what the issue is here.

  • Assistance pls: ~50% links not working on page, iWeb 3.0.4

I built a new page on a longstanding iWeb site last night, uploaded it (to my own domain hosted at Earthlink) and discovered that about 50% of the links on the page are not working, though all the links are formatted identically.
    Here's the page:
    http://www.MarynMcKenna.com/magazines.html
Here's how this page is built:
         - Each visible box is a shape
         - Within each shape is a text box with outline set to None
         - Each link was individually cut-pasted into Inspector (I have double-checked that none of them pasted 2x.)
         - I have checked that, in Inspector > Hyperlink, the settings for each link are:
              - Enable as a Hyperlink
              - Link to an External Page
              - Open link in new window
Also, I have checked (Command-Shift-L/Command-A) that the boxes are in the Body of the page, not in the Header, Footer etc.
When I am in iWeb, all of the links work fine.
When I upload the page and check it at Earthlink, however, the links in the larger boxes (Scientific American, Self, Annals) don't work.
I cannot see any reason why this would be going on. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Use the Inspector/Text/Text pane to adjust the inset margin to assure a uniform margin around the text in the text box.  This screenshot is without any margin:
And this is with a margin added:

  • Links work in iWeb, but not from browser when published

    http://web.me.com/mocote
All's well since August. Then yesterday, some links decide not to work anymore in browser. Can't create new ones either. What changed? In iWeb, all links look fine in the Inspector. You can click on all external links and file links in iWeb. Same links won't work in browser. Very frustrated. Please help.

    Hello!
Thank you for checking my pages. I did clear the cache. Updated software. Repaired permissions. Rebooted (a million times). I also made sure I had no overlapping graphics. The problem appears to be on the pages linked from This Week (in the navigation bar), the pages are Probability and Measures of Central Tendency. The links are in Text Boxes with frames on them.
I tried viewing the pages using Safari on my iBook, on an iMac using Safari and on a PC using Firefox. I get the same links not working. It's just odd that they appear to function "normally" in iWeb. I was hoping I did something dumb that I could fix quickly. If not, I'm having to do the pages over.
    Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.
