IWeb will not start, menu items dim, cannot open files

I designed a website using iWeb and need to make modifications to it. However, after I tried to open an html file with iWeb and get this message:
"Can’t open file “~/Sites/qhuyn002/Howto.html”
...iWeb closes on me. While this message is up and before I click OK to make it go away, the menu items are dim, and I cannot access any websites I've designed and saved in my "SITES" folder on this Macbook.
I've re-started the computer many times. Same issue keeps coming up. iWeb seems to think that every time I open it, I am trying to open this html file. I just need it to start as normal so that I can use it!
HELP!

Up until V 2.0.3, iWeb stored the domain file for the last site that was opened in iWeb in Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb.
After I updated to V 2.0.4, I discovered that there was no domain file there. I keep all my domain files in separate folders in an "iWeb" folder kept in a second dock using Dock-It so that I can launch any site with two mouse clicks.
Just for fun, I launched iWeb from the application and a site that I had "lost" during the upgrade appeared. It is still there and doesn't change no matter what site I launch in iWeb!
Some people "lost" their domain file after the upgrade and couldn't find it on their hard drive although it would still launch in iWeb. It wasn't in the default location.
I didn't report this to the iWeb development team as it didn't cause me any problems. Has anybody done this?
Most problems with upgrades to iLife and iWork applications occur because, if they are not instructed to do so, some people don't bother to do a restart after installing them.

If you are trying to launch iWeb '09 with a domain file made in iWeb '08, drag the domain file out of Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb into a new folder and then try launching.

Reh... Doesn't work on my 2012 Mac mini. A function key set in Sys Prefs worked in Leopard and Lion on my MB but I cannot get any key to work using SysPref Dictation & Speech. It is befuddling and now I have to go to Edit-Speech to turn on and turn off speech to selected text.
I have used Macs and Apple 2es since cave man days and Apple is becoming so befuddling I am wondering if there is even an advantage to it over Windows XP. I spent a lot on this little box, it looks good (the first one had to be exchanged as it wouldn't link to my keyboard ???) but Apple intuitive does no longer seem meaningful.
If speech to text no longer is accessible by short cuts using Fkeys, why bother to have it in Syst Prefs?
Apple is losing its way. The pleasure is gone and no one at Apple seems to care.

Hi - I created a file in Numbers a couple of years ago and have been able to update it monthly since its creation.
This morning I have tried to open the file and am getting the "Version-).apversion" could not be handled because Numbers cannot open files of this type.
Any ideas for a fix?

There are three major versions of Numbers:
Numbers '08
Number '09
Numbers 3
It is possible that an automatic update by App Store has installed the latest version of Numbers (Numbers 3) on your machine.
Numbers 3 can not open a Numbers '08 document.
Which version of Numbers is giving that error message? (In Numbers, Menu > Numbers > About Numbers.)
Look in your Applications folder for sub-folders such as iWork '08 and iWork '09.

This file was created in 2002 in MSword but this had been forgotten.
When I went to open it.... (MSword) was not a program option on my laptop. For some reason, I assumed that either Pages or Numbers wouild open the file. How the file was created was forgotten and had no file Info, but I new that it was a table of valuable information.
The warning threw me off, because it led me to believe that it was a Numbers file. which Numbers would not open. A paradox.
I took the file to a laptop in OSXpanther with MSoffice and it opened in MSword. Problem Solved.

I cannot open some files from at least two different friends. the message that I get is "could not be handled because Pages cannot open files in the “data” format.”.
I have OSX 10.9.2
I have the latest version of Pages 5.2
Any help is appreciated. I'd like to be able to open files. Thank you.

Could your friend possibly be using a Mac running OS 9?
Or one of the early versions of OSX?
They are the only Systems I know of that don't have file extensions on the files, because they used data forks in the file, something Apple eventually abandoned, in the interests of compatiblity with Windows and UNIX generally.
I had a look AmigaOS also had a form of file and resource separation, in which the main file does not have an extension.

Will not start on New Install. Opening goes straight to Crash reporter

Will not start on New Install. Clicking on icon does not open a window and goes straight to Crash reporter. I cannot access a window to try to open in safe mode (unless there is another method than outlined in the help article).
I run Windows XP and trying to install the latest 15.0.1 version. Before install, I did disable my Symantic virus protection. I have never used Firefox and would like to try it, but I'm having little success so far to even get started.
Please let me know if anyone has any other ideas or need more information from me.

your crash report also shows a file named "urixalog.dll", which doesn't turn up any search hits on google, which is also slightly suspicious. could you search for that file on your pc and upload it to a site like virustotal.com in order to analyze it.
please do a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes].

IWeb will not start

My iWeb is behaving strange. I just wanted to start using the application after a one year break, so I don't know which upgrade/change to my system might have caused this:
- some times iWeb crashes on start ("The applications has quit unexpectedly...")
- when I manage to start it by sending a photo over from iPhoto, I get the application running but almost all menu items are greyed out so I can not do anything (e.g., new page, new site etc.) except quitting
I have tried to delete the iWeb plist file in my library preferences, tried to remove the old domain file in application support and reinstalling the application, but the problem persists.
I do not have a mobileMe subscription, so on starting iWeb I click "no thanks" on the MobileMe dialogue.
Please - any suggestions would be appreciated!

Maybe your domain file is corrupt.
To test this, drag it into the trash and then open iWeb by clicking the application icon to force it to create a new domain file. Once you have done this, don't forget to take the original back out of the trash!

Blend will not start on pc and cannot sign into my BB id with link.

Have downloaded and installed the latest version of Link/Blend and found I could not log into my BB ID through link. The error telling me to check my connection. Blend will not work at all. I have cleaned registry of all RIM, Research in Motion and BlackBerry articles, rebooted and installed the newest update again to no avail. No connection to BlackBerry ID, and i am connected to the internet, and when I click on the Blend icon it does absolutely nothing. I have even opened task manager and rapid clicked it hoping i could see something start, but nothing does. it is like the file is not even there.I started out with an older version of link and blend that worked. I thought I would update and ended up with nothing working properly. I uninstalled the new and installed the old again and now that Blend fails to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Help app will not start just crashes when i open.

Got app (new ipad) did one project saved started to sycn to cc then it crashed now it crashes evertime i try to open. Did everything i found in forums (reinstall, sign out) no luck.

Updated itunes, error message about mobile popped up during installation, then after installation, tunes will not start. gives error that a dll file is missing.

I downloaded the new Itunes version. During installation, there was an error message that said no Mobile access. After installation, Itunes would not open. Gave an error message that a DLL file was not found. Removed itunes from computer and initiated new download. Same problem with new download. Still does not open. I'm stumped. I have over 30,000 files in itunes and use it every day HELP

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Lightroom 3 will not start, even after deleting the .LOCK file.

I have read about deleting the .lock file and that did not work. I have restarted my computer and that did not work. I tried opening a backup catalog and that did not work. I delete the .lock .journal and the catalog and the resorted from the back up. It created a new cataloge but it still did not work.
Any Ideas?
All my software is updated. and was working before.

Thanks for the help. However it did not work.
I held the Option key and was able to create a catalog. I should explain LR3 tries to start. Then I get a message that LR3 unexpectedly quit. I am trying one more thing. I only had 15GBs of space on the HD. I am clearing more space to see if that works. I had updated the OS too.
OS is Lion 10.7.3
and LR3 3.6

Firefox goes to crash report and will not start when I try to open it

Every time I try to open Firefox, it immediately goes to the crash reporter which says "We're Sorry. Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it starts."
I've ran Anti Malwarebytes, Super Antispyware, Kapersky Security Scan, Microsoft Safety Scanner and Spybot and none of them seem to work. I have, also, tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling without success. I have included my Crash report for you to review. Please help me with this because I am completely out of ideas.

Aperture will not start anymore

I bought and installed Aperture 3 over the App Store.
Initial install and running the program was no problem.
Upon launch now, the application will not start, reporting that "Aperture cannot be opened due to a problem".
The message also says I may need to re-install the software. Well how?
I think this started to happen after I got my iPad2 and selected to sync photos from Aperture, but I am not sure about that.
Even a reboot and with no other started applications, Aperture will not open.
I am running a Mac Mini Server (I bought it new in december 2010 in the Apple Store), running OS X server 10.6.7

No expert but from what I can tell theres some sort of bug or something in the PluginManager File as all the files appear to be there. Possible?
