HELP!
So I have had a Time Machine wifi loop at the house for approx. 6 years. I run two Macbooks, 2 iPhones, 2 iTouch and a Samsung Smart Blueray on the loop.
I just bought a Mac Mini with Lion Server. When setting it up I'm not sure what or how I managed to do, but I now have 2 wifi loops, one doesn't lock and niether will support the Samsung BlueRay. Also, each time I want to go online with one of the other Mac devices i have to relog into the wifi loop.
Can someone please walk me through the fix. The mac Mini is plugged straight into the Time Machine to recevie its internet connection.

You often see this limit of 10 clients in wireless hotspots but I have yet to see it in an adsl modem.. most strange way to pay for a service that is really irrelevant how many clients you use.
Have a go .. I recently setup a TC to help a guy run his Roku.. and this setup worked well.. I have no idea if it can work in your case.
Lets say the IP you get is 192.168.2.1-10 .. doesn't matter what it really is. And the adsl modem is 192.168.2.254
(Assuming they are private addresses.. if they are public IP you can just use the DHCP and NAT. )
But go to the airport utility.. I think you need to run v5 at least to change DNS.. but you can do the same thing in v6 using static but no dns changes.
Now you set the IP of the TC manually.. This address might need to be in the dhcp range of the modem to work. You can set the DNS to same IP as the router address.. ie home address of the modem. Or you can use another DNS.. whatever you like.
Then set DHCP for clients that will join.. this can then expand the scope of addresses..
It worked without a NAT error.. although I am not sure exactly how.. on paper it should not be able to work but did.. have a go.. otherwise there is perhaps another way.. but it is complicated.
Give us an example from a computer plugged into the modem of what IP .. subnet mask .. Gateway and DNS you get. Then I can fine tune the values for it.

Just got a new Mac Mini with Lion - where is the downloads folder in the Window tab that is at the top of the page in Safari? I used this a lot and really miss it!

I just got a new Mac Mini with Lion - the Window tab at the top of the Safari Browser used to ahve a downloads folder in it along with Activity etc - but it is not there anymore. Any way to get it back or is there another location it sits in? I used it when I'd copy video info from the activity folder and then paste into the download folder and presto - I downloaded the video onto my computer. I really miss this capability!

There are a few things that are confusing in your question.
As far as I know, you dont have to install Time Machine on this OS as it is already installed for you. You only need to connect a hard drive to your computer via firewire or usb, click on the Time Machine icon, Open Time Machine Preference in the drop down menu and select a disk: your connected hard drive.
You can of course reformat this connected device, partition it into a few volumes to organise data if you so wish.
I find it strange that your mac's hard drive is divided into two volumes... perhaps this was created through bootcamp?
You can access the configuration of your hd through Applications/Utilities/Disk Utilities.
Clicking on one of the icons on the right hand panel will bring the details of the contents of your hardDrive and volumes. From there you can decide to erase a partition, reformat etc....
If your hd contains more than one volume, and one of them is empty, you could decide to remove it. Back up all your important data before doing so.

Everything else syncs great, and iCal syncs from my Mini to my Touch. My Touch has the latest iOS installed. I have tried rebooting my Touch, removing the sync calendars option from iTunes>Info and checking it again after applying and closing iTunes, and restarting my Mini. Any help will be appreciated!

For you maybe, but Mavericks is better than Mounatin Lion for me, not to mention that is free.
I still maintain a Snow Leopard partition for some older software, but see no need to keep a partition for either Lion or Mountain Lion.
IMHO, yours may vary.
P.S., I think most will agree that Mounatin Lion was superior to Lion.

All versions of OS X are multilingual and the interface language can be switched in a few seconds via system preferences/language & text/language. You put the language you want at the top of the list and logout/login.

HP Printer update keeps getting reinstalled. Mac mini with Lion.

I have a new Mac mini with Lion and the HP Deskjet all-in-one printer with scanner that came with a rebate so I got it for free. When I check for new software I get a notice that there is an update to the HP printer driver (I think it is v 5.7). I go ahead and do the update and it says it was installed. When I check later on for new software the same update shows up, as if I never did the upgrade. What gives?

Thanks for the feedback. Since I did the original post I found the solution by searching the community for "HP Update". Someone posted that you need to delete a folder within the Library folder and then do the update again. The deleted folder for the HP Printer will wind up in the trash, but you need to reboot the Mac before you can empty the trash.

Mac mini with lion OS skipping keystrokes (in razer anansi)

I recently purchased a mac mini 2011 model running lion OS with razer anansi mac layout keyboard.
Im having a really bad time as the keystrokes keeps skipping very randomly (some keys more frequent). if i slow down & press the missed out key it works fine but as I type along I noticed it keeps happening. Has anyone ever encountered something like that ?
I also want to know how do I set the options for key repeating for example if I press key "X" long enough it will repeat itself by default (in windows & in snow leopard as well) but in Lion it pops up a bubble with alternative options for the key (similar to iphone keyboard ) which i want to get rid of. this has become very annoying with the delete key as well. press & hold delete wont delete the characters auto & it only delete 1 character

New Mac Mini with Lion Video Problem With Dell E228WFP monitor

Just purchased a new mini Mac 2.3 with Lion pre installed. I connected to my old Dell E228WFPI monitor via the Mini Display to VGA adapter. The mini mac worked fine for an hour until I put it to sleep. It would not rewake. After rebute the gray screen and apple logo appear with clock, but after clock screen to black and monitor goes to power saver mode. Took unit to apple store twice and could not resolve problem by changing resolution or other methiods. Finally, we learned that the system works fine using Belkin HDMI to DVI cable. This Dell Monitor had DVI connector. Hope this helps...

How can a computer that's been turned off (and I mean completely OFF) get a network request? Only a sleeping computer should react to such a request. If you're sure you shut down (Apple Menu, Shut Down), then only an internal power supply or logic board problem should cause this. The only way it could be software is if Lion is not shutting down the computer but is instead putting it to sleep. Is it a new Mac Mini? If so, you should have it replaced or repaired.

I currently have two macs. A 2008 macbook which is running Snow Leopard, can run Lion, and cannot run Mountain Lion. I also have a mac mini which came with Lion pre-installed. I plan on upgrading my mini to Mountain Lion when it's available. After I upgrade, it seems like I should be able to install Lion on my macbook using the license that came with my mini.
I have found many articles about making a DVD or bootable USB drive to recover, or install Lion onto other macs. So, I am not tied to the mac app store. And I am not worried about how to install Lion onto the macbook.
I have also read a few discussions about upgrading using pre-installed Lion license. From what I've read, if someone buys Lion through the app store, they can install it on all of their macs. But, if they have a machine the came with Lion pre-installed they can only use Lion on one machine. However it is unclear if that license can be transferred to another machine.
Another common answer that I have seen is, "Don't be cheap! Just buy Lion throught the app store." This is not about money, I'm interested in the technical challange, and the leagal question.
Does anyone have experience with this, or opinions?

If your machine came with Lion preinstalled, you cannot use it on another machine. It is tied to the machine it came with. You are allowed to make a one time transfer of the OS when you sell the machine as long as it remains with that machine.
If you purchase Lion from the app store, you are free to install it on as many Macs as you own - however, if/when you sell one of those Macs, you are required to uninstall Lion as the license is not transferable and you need to reinstall the original OS.

Anyone know how to get external iSight camera sound to function on 2011 Mac mini with Lion?

I recently helped my Mom upgrade from an older Mac mini to a 2011 model, and the external iSight camera shows video but has no sound. She can see and hear me through both iChat and FaceTime, but I can only see her.
I have checked the source for the mic in FaceTime and iChat preferences as well as the System Preferences, and I can see the monitor responding to input, but it is not sending the sound.

Mac Mini with Lion start up issue

My mac mini has lost the start up chime and hangs on the grey screen with a spinning gear. It will not boot fro Lion USB, nor complete any "apple hardware test" when starting up with the 'D' key held. This seems ominous. Any tips?

Power up the iMac holding the Command R keys or the Option (Alt) key and Startup from your Lion Recovery Partition. If you can, go up on the menu bar and open Disk Utility, then next see if you can Repair your Macintosh HD Startup Volume.
