Iweb09 RSS Feed Widget - Time Problem

I have a problem with the RSS feed widget. I have setup a blog separate to iweb, and that is working fine. I added a RSS feed widget to my page linked to this blog. This feed works fine except that the posts are showing the wrong time. They are 8 hours behind.
I am based in the UK. My blog posts are all posted on UK time (I've checked the RSS page too), my regional settings are all UK. Is there any way to change the code of the RSS feed or something to get it to show UK time as apposed to US time?

Hello,
I am experiencing a similar problem. I show my Twitter updates via RSS feeds to my iWeb09 site. I reside in the Eastern US timezone. But, when my web page updates my Twitter status, it displays as if I am Pacific Time (3 hours earlier). Does anyone know what causes this?

    iweb3 rss feed widget does NOT work in real-time (if at all), I sent feedback to them already (no reply) and I summed up in my post here:
    http://www.cyclosaurus.com/Home/CyclosaurusBlog/Entries/2009/7/25Not_iWebWidget.html
    I also included a much better alternative than iweb rss feed widget but you will have to do much of Yahoo's Pipes studying.

  • Spry RSS Feed widget works in IE but not Firefox or Chrome

    I've been trying to use the Spry RSS Feed widget (6/9/2011 - via the Widget Browser) to feed a Wordpress blog I have onto my site.  I customized the widget and installed the widget to my page, but it only works in IE (Version 8), and not in Firefox (9.0./1) or Chrome (16.0.912.63 m).  I thought maybe I had something conflicting with it on my page, so I even tried inserting into a completely blank page, but I get the same results.
    I've scoured the web for options to get this feed onto my site, and found PHP solutions, and a bunch of other tools, but I'm not much of a coder, and haven't been able to get them to work at all.
    I'm using CS 5.5
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks!!
    Here's the code from the blank page I tried:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryData.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="SpryAssets/xpath.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="SpryAssets/SpryStackedContainers.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <script type="text/xml">
    <!--
    <oa:widgets>
      <oa:widget wid="2567023" binding="#OAWidget" />
    </oa:widgets>
    -->
    </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    // BeginOAWidget_Instance_2567023: #OAWidget
    var ds1 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss", "rss/channel/item");
    ds1.setColumnType("description", "html");
    // EndOAWidget_Instance_2567023
    </script>
    <div spry:region="ds1" class="StackedContainers">
      <div spry:repeat="ds1" class="RowContainer">
        <div class="RowColumn"><a href="{link/@href}">{title}</a></div>
        <div class="RowColumn">{description}</div>
      </div>
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>

    The problem is that XML data cannot be transmitted cross domain.
    This example, http://pleysier.com.au/rss/, uses Spry.Data.YQLDataSet to overcome the limitation, see here https://github.com/3rd-Eden/Spry-YQL-DataSet

  • RSS Feed Widgets

    Would love to see a Widget you could put an RSS Feed into and customize picture sizes fonts ect..  I used to use a platform called KickApps before it was bought out and I loved that.  Even had Audio and Video payers that you could customize and the content was through a feed.
    Thanks!

    The new widgets stink if you ask me :-( On Anna I had the combined clock/profile/calender widget that took less space that the new clock widget AND had shortcuts to clock, profiles and calender AND adapted to theme color. On Anna the calender widget showed several appointments. The new Belle variant show ONE appointment and is WHITE (nice on a dark theme ehhh) and takes up just a much space. On Anna the e-mail widgets showed several mail in one widget slot. On Belle they show the same but take 3 time the space AND they are BLUE and WHITE and does not follow theme colors (nice for dark themes and for battery saving - not). On Anna I had room for clock/profile, calender 3 e-mail widgets and shortcuts on the same startscreen. Now just 2 e-mail widgets takes a shole screen (and does not show more). I have managed to save some space with the "ComingNext" calendar-widget (http://comingnext.sourceforge.net/) but still I have to use a extra startscreen for the mail. And I don't like that. Now I can't see my mails on the main screen - but must swipe to another. I general I think many things take more "click" on Belle than on "Anna" :-( Wish I hadn't updated :-( Is there a way to go back to "Anna"?

  • RSS feeds widget broken?

    Is anyone else having problems "waiting for reader.mac.com" with the RSS feed(s) not updating?
    I  have 2 different web pages that aggregate RSS feeds from several sites and this afternoon they all went dark...
    Google shows it's come up before, but not showing any definitive solution.
    I've tried with multiple browsers, multiple devices, in and out of my network.  All get the same thing.

    apple had pulled the plug on mac.com and me.com.
    I post this last year: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15949176#15949176

  • How to recover RSS feeds from Time Machine backup?

    Hi,
    I have deleted an RSS feed and so even his messages are gone. Then I have tried to recover it from my TM backup but I just discovered that TM shows me the RSS feed but it does not allow me to select them to recover.
    Is it correct?
    Is there any way to recover that?
    thanks!

    Thanks for the response BDAqua, I did use Migration Assistant to transfer her data from the SuperDuper backup.  Are you suggesting that I use Migration Assistant to transfer data from the Time Machine backup?  Will that result in duplication?  Sorry, but I've no experience at all with Time Machine backups and don't know whether you can 'pick and choose' what to restore from the Time Machine using Migration Assistant.
    Cheers

  • How do I restore RSS feeds from Time Machine (OS X Lion)

    I inadvertently deleted some messages from a RSS feed in Mail.
    It seems that they are located in /users/*username*/library/mail/v2/RSS.
    I entered Time Machine and navigated the this directory in a backup and selected 'Restore'.
    It seemed to work but when I went back into Mail, nothing had changed.
    I tried earlier backups but the same...
    Any one have any ideas how to accomplish this?
    Many thanks,
    Jeff

    Try with Mail open and active, then enter TM. You should be in the Mail window within TM. Select the RSS folder and back up in time until you see the messages. Then select the messages and hit Restore.

  • IWeb09 RSS Feed Button not providing the correct URL

    I use iWeb 3.0.1 and MobileMe to host my own domain. However, I want to add a Blog with RSS feed. When I insert the RSS Feed button it creates a link to http://www.<domain>/username>/Blog/rss.xml. This doesn't work in RSS readers since the path is not valid.
    However, if I manually edit my RSS reader to point to http://web.me.com/<domain>/<username>/Blog/rss.xml it correctly finds the RSS XML file indicating that the Blog pages are being published correctly.
    Is there a bug in iWeb or have I not configured something properly? I can't find a way to manually edit the RSS feed button.

    Your domain uses URL forwarding with masking. It has no meaning for links. It's just cosmetics.
    This is the webpage that counts :
    http://web.me.com/philipksmith/philipksmith/Blog/Blog.html
    The blue RSS button is the wrong one.
    !http://www.wyodor.net/_Discussions/WrongRSSButton.png!
    Why not enable personal domain and use your domainname properly.
    To use your domainname, follow the instructions in your MobileMe account where you setup Personal Domain:
    https://secure.me.com/account/
    Where you'll find a link to [iWeb: Using your own domain name|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1107]
    Or read it in the [MobileMe help|http://help.apple.com/mac/1/help> : Account > Setting up a Personal Domain
    You can have only one domainame with Personal Domain at MobileMe. To use the other one you have to enable URL forwarding where you host your domainname.

  • IWEB and TWITTER using RSS Feed wrong time

    I put in a RSS widget when building my site with iWEB '09. But the widget shows a wrong time in the Twitter timeline. It is off by 9h. Which seems to me, living in Zurich, switzerland, to be the california time.
    How can I fix this? Everything on MobileMe and so is is set to GMT +1.
    Thanks a lot. Your help would be appriciated.

    If you are using Mobile Me for your website, there is a Time Zone option in the Account Settings > Personal Information tab.
    This might cause the wrong time to appear.
    Hope it helps.

  • Rss feed in a publication

    I need to get an rss feed inside my publication, i have generated this code from http://www.rssfeedwidget.com/ where it works fine.
    I have saved the code as a html file, saved the file in same folder as the Indesign document, created a frame and from overlay creator i have pointed to this html file. But it dosen't work
    What do I miss to do?
    Have tested on screen and on ipad
    <div id="widgetmain" style="text-align:left;overflow-y:auto;overflow-x:hidden;width:200px;background-color:#FF FFFF; border:1px solid #333333;"><div id="rsswidget" style="height:500px;"><iframe src="http://us1.rssfeedwidget.com/getrss.php?time=1317414422408&x=http%3A%2F%2Frss.tv2.dk%2Frss %2Fshow%2Fsite%2Fgo.tv2.dk%2Ffeed%2FGo%2B-%2BRejse%2F&w=200&h=500&bc=333333&bw=1&bgc=FFFFF F&m=20&it=true&t=tv2&tc=133303&ts=15&tb=transparent&il=true&lc=0000FF&ls=14&lb=false&id=tr ue&dc=333333&ds=14&idt=true&dtc=284F2D&dts=12" border="0" hspace="0" vspace="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" style="border:0; padding:0; margin:0; width:200px; height:500px;" id="rssOutput" frameborder="no">Reading RSS Feed ...</iframe></div><div style="text-align:right;margin-bottom:0;border-top:1px solid #333333;" id="widgetbottom"><span style="font-size:70%"><a href="http://www.rssfeedwidget.com">rss feed widget</a> </span><br></div></div>

    Oh, well then you are missing the rest of the HTML code that has to be in the document. (the HTML tag, the head tag, the body tag, etc)

  • RSS feed no more update

    Hi,
    I have 2 macs in my home with the same problem.
    All the rss feed i have bookmarked don't update automatically.
    When i delete the pref file "com.apple.Syndication.plist", Safari update the rss feeds one times but not all 30 min like i have defined in pref.
    If someone have some experience about this problem.
    Thx

    Welcome to Apple's user-to-user discussion forums.
    Try deleting Safari's preferences file which is named "com.apple.Safari.plist". Quit Safari first. The easiest way of getting to the file is to put the filename (without quotes) in Spotlight. You will get one entry. Click on "Show All" and you can then drag the plist to the trash. Restart Safari and reenter your preferences. Let us know what happens.

  • Subscribing to Gallery - RSS feeds

    I have created a number of albums in My Gallery from within iPhoto with the intention of letting the (extensive) family view them without my having to e-mail them etc. This has and is working fine. To save even more time I thought that the option to subscribe to the Galleries would be a good idea. I assumed that if you subscribed to the Gallery then every time I would change or add/delete an album etc from the Gallery this would notify anyone who was subscribed. In order to try it out I simply logged onto My Gallery via the browser (as would anyone else) and "Subscribed". This gave me an RSS feed that I added to my Bookmarks bar in the same way that I have other RSS feeds. The problem I have is that the other feeds show a number next to the title letting me know how many "unread" items I have in that folder. So if the number changes I know I have a new "item". But I don't seem to get the same notification for the RSS feed for My Gallery when I go in and add/delete/change etc a photo from within iPhoto and then re-publish. Hence it doesn't seem to be informing me of any changes..?
    My idea here was for me to try it first before I try my (undoubtedly PC) other users next. But it doesn't seem to work. Is there a trick to this or a series of step I need to follow etc?
    Thanks for anyone who has resolved this or can help

    I was just searching through the forums trying to find an answer to the same question you are asking: how can one subsribe (aka photocast) to a flickr RSS and get a good feed that has large photos and not thumbnails...
    And although I too do not have a direct answer, I do have something you might be interested in... Google!
    Have you ever used Google's Picasa web albums? Well I think you will like it much better than flickr (unless you use flickr for its community where it surely wins, but I just wanted a free and easy way to photocast and I found it)
    1) So first you want an easy way to upload pictures to google, which is essentially creating your photocast. To do this get google's free export feature that is a direct plug in into iphoto and works great:
    http://picasa.google.com/web/mac_tools.html
    2) Next, once you have easily uploaded photos navigate to the album's webpage and view it. Here you can find its RSS feed and copy that feed into any iPhoto as a photocast and bingo you have it with full size pictures rather than what flickr gives you
    Limitations include:
    1) Each album has its own RSS rather than an entire user one, but I like this feature over flickr's method of an entire RSS per user...
    2) I tried using different compressions for uploading a single photo. From here I opened iphoto and tested the subscription feed of the photos. As it turns out, the RSS feed still generates thumbnails becaue they do not reflect the true uploaded images' sizes, BUT the size is much larger and better than that of Flickr's size making it a suitable photocasting method. But not perfect because the RSS feed does not contain the entire image as does .Mac's method...
    Hope this helps,
    TM

  • Learn how to setup RSS feeds!

    Here is a document of the Tagset IDs you'll need to setup RSS feeds.
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2341
    Here are some instructions on how to setup the RSS feed widget in Your View.
    First, make sure you are in Your View edit mode.
    Select Other --> RSS Subscription
    Drag the RSS Subscription widget to the desired location in Your View.
    Select "Edit this widget" from the upper right hand corner of the widget
    For Apple Support Communities, each category has a tagSetID. Here is a list of the tagSet IDs you'll need to setup the RSS feeds:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2341
    The URL that needs to be modified with the appropriate tagSetID:https://discussions.apple.com/community/feeds/allcontent?tagSet=<tagSetID>
    Enter that into the URL box in the RSS Subscriptions widget
    Click "Save Properties"
    Add more RSS Subscription widgets to get RSS feeds from other categories.

    Unbeleavable,
    totally idiotic and useless,
    money spent and time spent to find a solution to something that has been there and working.
    sad sad
    but good news, google chrome works perfectly, look is the same as safari s old ssr reader, bit nicer than firefox,
    so chrome it will be, anyhow, safari took all from chrome,

  • I can't find my RSS feeds

    Hi all,
    I recently got a MBP and using time machine, I switched my profile from my iMac 21.5 to the new system.  It changed my username to "username1".
    The first thing I noticed was that my RSS feeds were missing as the new iMail does not support RSS feeds.  No problem, it's easy to locate the RSS file-at least I thought so.
    I went into Time Machine, into the backup, went to this directory: /users/*username*/library/mail/v2/RSS- only to find that it doesn't exist and that all files under my old username are locked out.
    So I guess I have two questions.
    1: How do I get my old RSS feeds so I don't have to go through that process of subscribing all over again?
    2: Do I have to change my username back to my old one?  If so, how do I go about doing this without affecting any of my files/protect the files I've already created on my new MBP?
    Gah!
    Thanks so much for the help!

    I just came across this link and am very happy to find it! http://www.macgasm.net/2012/07/30/tip-find-your-deleted-rss-feeds-in-mountain-li ons-mail-app/  It provides the code so you can at least get your list of feeds back if you used Mail for your RSS feed reader.
    My question now is; what should I use instead of Mail as my feed reader?  I don't know what programs actually do this.
