IWork 06 on MacBook

It says on the webpage that the MacBook comes with iWork 06 and MS Office 04. It turns out that these are just demos. MS Word/Office at the most used programs for me at least. Is there somewhere where i can download a full version of MS Office or word, or perhaps iWork 06. I need a word processor for school and there isnt one on my MacBook other than textedit which really isn't too great.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

There are other free alternatives around. If you tell us what you need, and which particular things you miss in TextEdit, someone may point you in the right direction.
You have some comparisons available online at

  • How to install iWork on MacBook Air

    Hi,
It would be appreciated if anybody can help me to install iWork to MacBook Air.
I have another laptop with Windows 7 and problem finding DVD or CD Sharing on control panel.
I believe iWork would provide the office tools like Word, Excel and PowerPoint in MS Office tools.

I assume you have installed "DVD or CD Sharing" from the OS X install disc (or USB stick if you have the latest MBA)?
    Try installing it again perhaps.

  • How do I reinstall iWork on Macbook mid-2007 after hard drive crash? Don't seem to have a disc so must have downloaded it.

    Hi
The hard drive on my mid-2007 Macbook crashed. I've installed a new one but don't have a disc for iWork, which I must have downloaded. I can't see a version on the Apple store that looks compatible and I'm not even sure what version I had. I'm using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and it looks like version 09 won't work. Would 08 be OK? I'm assuming I'll have to buy a replacement as I don't have a record of the serial number. Would be great if I don't.
    Thanks

  • IWork on Macbook Pro Retina display needs updating, text is blurry?

I just purchased the new Macbook Pro with retina display and I am surprised there is no update for iWork. Text appears blurry and is very tough to use.

Of course, but I wonder why Apple did not update/upgrade iWork together with the new product, this is their basic office suite. Don’t you find this strange?
I don't find it strange. I think Apple chose not to update iWork last week because they're also updating it again in late July. That is, they'd be updating iWork twice in 4 weeks - first to work with Retina MBPs and then again to work with iCloud in OS X Mountain Lion.
We have been waiting for an iWork upgrade for at least one year.
Maybe the traditional update scheme of "minor updates (free) > new version (not free) > minor updates (free)  > ..." is coming to an end. Apple are not _required_ to do this any more with the Mac App Store. They can do the same as most other developers. That is, have one app and continue to update it indefinitely.

  • Iwork for macbook pro.

i'm using macbook pro early 2011 (os10.7.5) and i did not get iwork but i got microsoft. Is it possible to download iwork for my mac. if yes then how and which version will work on early 2011?

It will not work on 10.7.5. If you want to get iWork without upgrading the computer's OS, buy an iWork 09 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay.

  • Purchasing iWork for MacBook Pro and Mini Mac

If I have a MacBook Pro (older 2006) and a Mini Mac, do I need to purchase iwork for each? Additionally, would I need to purchase pages '09 for each as well?
Also, I'm running Lion on my Mini Mac and Snow Leopard on my MacBook Pro.  Will this affect my purchases?
Apologies if this is pretty common knowledge. I'm still getting to know all this.
    Thanks!!

You can purchase the Family Pack and install iWork on each of your systems.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB943Z/A
Or you can purchase each application separately from the Mac App Store and use them on all systems you own or control.

  • How to reinstall iLife and iWork in macbook after reinstallation of maverick

I need help to reinstall the iLife and iWork which was initially preinstalled in my new macbook pro late 2013. Unfortunately, both were gone after I did a Maverick reinstallation as I accidentally deleted some wrong files causing OS to crash. Appstore requires I pay for it although both apps were initially free and bundled together with my laptop. Kindly advise.

Hi Terence, I have solved the predicament. Apparently I was using my wife's apple ID when I first register my macbook. Therefore, I am now able to redownload the iphoto through appstore.
    Thank you by the way.

  • IWorks for MacBook Pro and iPad

I purchased iWorks for my MacBook Pro back in the UK last year, and have now moved to Australia.
Is it possible to upload / transfer iWorks to my new iPad 2, or do i need to buy the software again?
i only mention the moving country as i had some issues with iTunes purchasing new software and seeing what software i had bought ... it seems that iTunes is country specific, and doesn't like you to move ...

you can't transfert an app from your mac to your iPad. It's 2 different platforms, OS.
i think you can select the country in the iTunes Store, as i think that the country is linked to your account and not the place where you are. But yeah, there are some content not available depending on the store country. (but again, this is relative to your account)

  • IWork from macbook air mavericks to iPad

    Hello,
I would like to know how to get iwork to my ipad.
Rececntly, last week, I bouth a macbook air at a retail store in Colombia, it comes with iwork, and ilife. I sign in with my apple id, and update the apps, so far no problem. The thing is, its suppose that in my ipad and iphne they should be free to install as well, but in itunes on my macbook air says 9.99, and in the appstore says installed??? no understand how is that posible???
Anyway, my question is how to transfer the iwork to my other devices since in the itunes does not apear like free with my account.
Thanks very much in advance for your help.

The versions of iWork and iLife that you have installed on your Mac are only for Macs, if you want them on your iPad then they are separate purchases - they are different operating systems.
When did you buy and activate your iPad and iPhone ? If you activated them on/after September 1st last year then some of the apps should be free to download (if you are logged in on the iPad/iPhone with the same account that you activate them with) - if it was on/after 1st September then try logging out of your account on your iPad/iPhone (whichever was activated after 1st September) by tapping on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then log back in and see if they show as free.
If both the phone and iPad were activated before 1st September then you will need to buy the apps if you want them on them.
    Free apps : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5913
iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated or purchased on or after September 1, 2013.

  • Iworks for Macbook work on Ipad?

I purchased Iworks when I bought my Macbook, I have disc. Will this work on the Ipad. Also will a Apple keyboard with the Ipad, have from from and older Mac.

No - iWork for Mac won't work on your iPad - you have to purchase those applications through iTunes Store.
If you've got a BT keyboard delivered with your Mac that will work - no idea regarding USB keyboard; maybe through Apple's Camara Kit.

To install OS X Lion or Mountain Lion on another Mac, open the Mac App Store, sign in to your account, and re-download the OS by selecting it in the Purchases list. Follow these steps:
Download Lion or Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store on one of your personal authorized Macs. The download is approximately 4 GB in size.
    Install the OS.
Log in to another computer that you wish to install it on.
Open the Mac App Store. Enter your Apple ID and password that was used to download either Lion or Mountain Lion on the first computer.
Click the Purchased icon, then click the download link for the appropriate OS.
Run the Installer once it has finished downloading to the new Mac.

I suggest you download it once, save the installer ESD package first before installing, and keep that to use again. You can copy it to flash drive and make an OS X installer too.
Create a bootable install drive for OS X Mountain Lion, make one manually with a USB drive or use the LionDiskMaker tool to automate the process with a USB or DVD
With the boot installer drive connected to the Mac, reboot and hold down the Option key
Choose the “Mac OS X Installer” startup volume from the boot menu
Select “Disk Utility” and choose the hard drive you wish to format, click the “Erase” tab, and then pull down the “Format” menu and select “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)” as the type, name the drive if you wish
Click the “Erase” button and let the drive format – this is the point of no return
When finished, quit out of Disk Utility and now select the “Install Mac OS X” option from the menu
Choose your freshly formatted hard drive and install Mountain Lion
When the Mac reboots you will have a clean installation of Mac OS X 10.8 to work with.
    Another reliable method:
After you’ve downloaded the OS X Mountain Lion installer from the Mac App Store, launch LionDiskMaker and it will locate the installer app, extract the disk image, and then make the boot disk. It’s about as simple as it gets.
For USB install drives or SD cards the drive needs at least 8GB of space available. LionDiskMaker formats the drive you point it at, remember that when you are picking a disk to make bootable for the installer.
Get the newest version of LinoDiskMaker free from the developer

  • Is keynote included in iWork?

Is keynote included in iWork when purchased? Is it possible to buy iWork for Macbook pro and buy only keynote for ipad?

While Keynote is part of iWork, iWork can no longer be purchased as a combined package of those 3 applications as they are all now sold separately on the App Store.
To purchase Keynote for OS X you use the App Store from your Mac and for iOS you use the iTunes Store from either within iTunes on your Mac or directly on your iOS device.

  • What order do I install airport, iLife, iWork, MS Office, & do Migration

I have an iMac and just bought a MacBook Pro. I used the setup assistant on the MacBook Pro and created a user account, but did not setup anything else (internet, email, etc -- will do later). The user account name & password is different from my iMac -- although I am the same user for both. I didn't know if the same name on each was a big deal so I opted for two different names.
I purchased iWork and iLife for my iMac.
I purchased the following for the MacBook Pro : Airport Extreme Base Station (and for the iMac also, obviously), iWork, MS Office (already have another license of MS Office on my iMac).
I also plan to use the migration assistant to copy information from my iMac to my MacBook Pro.
Here's the deal, in what order do I "do" all of this:
    A. Install Airport Extreme Base Station for iMac and MacBook Pro
    B. Use Migration Assistant to copy information from iMac to MacBook Pro
    C. Install iWork on MacBook Pro
    D. Install MS Office on MacBook Pro
    E. Install iLife on iMac
    F. Install iWork on iMac
    Thanks for the info ...
    MacBook Pro

I second Peter's recommendation not to use Migration Assistant to transfer from a PPC machine to an Intel Mac.
Migration Assistant can carry over things hidden away in your Library, for example, that can cause stability problems and that may well be responsible for some of the heat complaints.
It's more work but safer to set up the MBP from scratch and to install only applications that you've checked as compatible with the MBP. Then you can copy over your data files for those applications from the PPC computer.
I didn't use Migration Assistant and installed only the programs that I really need, and which are compatible. My MBP has been rock solid; not a single system panic, freeze or crash since March 30. And only one application crash (an OCR program that I configured wrongly after installation) that's never been repeated.
And for what it's worth, I don't have heat complaints, either.

  • IWork can't "hand off" from MBP to iPhone or iPad.

    Hi, all~
The Safari, mail, contact is all OK to "hand off" between iPhone, iPad,and Macbook Pro.
The problem I have now is that iWork on Macbook Pro can not "hand off" to iPhone & iPad.
But iWork on iPhone or iPad can hand off to Macbook Pro.
Does there anybody have the same problem?
    Thank you very much~

Im having the same issue. But I can't even get my iOS devices to handoff iWork. Absolutely nothing from iWork.
    Any fix would be great.

  • IWork DVD still demanding serial number after running iWork trial version

I had the trial version, it expired, and I loaded the DVD. It demanded the serial number every time.
I have read other posts and did all of the suggested file deletions, plus more (Applications, Library, Caches, etc... I just run searches for anything containing those roots). Is there another search I can run to find these obtrusive files?. Every time I reinstall the DVD it asks for the serial number. There has to be somewhere else there is a "trial" file. I have searched every file that includes "iwork" "pages" "numbers" "keynote" and found more than just the directories suggested. Even after emptying the trash, rebooting, etc... I load the DVD and it still asks for the serial number when I try to run any of programs.
This has to be a very common problem and I can't believe Apple hasn't fixed this in the iWork DVD software they give you!
Help! I can't use any of iWork!
MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.4)

I agree that you must be missing something you need to delete. It used to be that to update the trial to the licensed version with the box, you just inserted the DVD & ran the installer to convert the trial to licensed. This has changed with Snow Leopard. You now need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD. You should also use Disk Utility to repair permissions after installation.
    The files to delete are:
    1. the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications
    2. the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support
    3. the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (account name) > Library > Preferences for each user.

  • Pages 4.3 dosen't detect pages 4.3 documents.

ages 4.3 dosen‘t detect pages 4.3 documents. I use two macbooks with iwork. one macbook with 10.7.5 an the other with 10.8.4. At both machines runs pages 4.3. If i try to open under 10.7.5  a document stored in icloud (under 10.8.4) i get an error message that the file format is unknown an can‘t be opened. if i opened the document package, pages is able to open the index file and show the correct document. is there any possibility to open the original document under 10.7.5. It is important, because i don‘t want to work with different files.

The problem solves itself, if i leave the file inside the cloud (the mobile document folder - lion) and open the file package there. After saving the changes in the index.file i´m able to open it in icloud with pages under mountainlion. i haven‘t a glow about possible negative consequences but it sems to work.  Always processing the same file :-) Before opening the file in icloud directly i copied the file under lion and created a new one because i had fear to destroy the content. My fault. But why isn't pages able to open the file in the ordinary way? Is there someone with same experience?
