IWork 09- APA Template?

Hey guys I writing an APA Paper and I am looking for a template I think I found one ( http://www.michaelhanscom.com/eclecticism/2010/10/28/apa-6th-edition-paper-templ ate-for-apple-pages-iwork/ ).
However I can't follow the iWorks "Template folder" to place these in.
So I'm looking for the folder, and possibly another APA Template for iWorks. Thanks.

I believe there may be a user-contributed template or two at iWork Community.
As for the path to put any downloaded template in, it's HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Application Support > iWork > Pages > Templates > My Templates. If you've never saved a file as a template from Pages this path won't exist. The easiest way to get the folders is to save a file, any file, as a template. You can always delete that file if you want. Here's a screenshot showing the path two different ways. Those other folders above the highlighted My Templates folder are ones I've added to create sub-categories in the Template Chooser.

  • IWork '09's template chooser shows black text on a black background. Not very useful, how to change?

    Hi -
For some time now, the template chooser that I see in any iWork application shows the name of the file as black text on a black background.
    This can't be normal, right?
I'm looking for a way to change this into something with more contrast (black on grey/black on white, for example).
    How?
I tried trashing preferences from my user account, the issue persisted.
I'm about to try under a new user and I'll report back.
    Kind regards,

Good that you try things out. If it doesn't help you might need to reinstall iWork and do the updates again.
Use Yvan's script to uninstall iWork fully.
              •          Go to http://www.box.com/s/00qnssoyeq2xvc22ra4k
              •          Choose public_YK > for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items
              •          Click on uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button

  • Where do I find APA template?

hi - I just bought my first Mac, and I'm still trying to figure it out. I'm in need of APA format for writing medical research papers, and don't know where to find a template online.
Any suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.

Ah, its the American Psychological Association's specification for outdated layout! Remember to type 2 spaces after every period.
Now where is my old IBM Selectrix typewriter when I need one.
    btw A simple search returned:
    American Psychological Association
    American Planning Association
    American Psychiatric Association
APA - The Engineered Wood Association
    American Philosophical Association
    American Poolplayers Association
    American Payroll Association
    American Pediatric Association
    Advertising Photographers of America
    Before moving onto:
    Australian Physiotherapy Association
or any references to Associations in Argentina, Armenia, Algeria, Azerbeijan, Asia, Aruba etc.
but then +unelaborated acronyms are for you too…+

  • Installed Iworks but templates in pages body of documents is in a language other than english which I chose at installation prompt

I installed iworks and ipages templates are in a different language than english which I selected on install

I guess that you are the 100th user asking about that.
The text displayed in the placeholders is a Latin one but it seems that many US citizen ignore that Latin is the basis of many languages.
This text was choose because it give a good 'level of gray' in the blocks in which it is used.
I really don't understand what is boring you with this reminder of one of the origins of our civilizations.
    It's just a temporary filler.
If you open a doc using it, I guess that it's not to lease the filler in the placeholders but that you will replace it by your own text.
If you want more details, search for "lorem ipsum" in Google.

To be the AW6 successor, iWork MUST integrate a TRUE DB, not a list organizer !

  • APA Style Template in Pages for Mac?

Does anyone know how to create an APA style Template in Pages for Mac?

Search for a Word APA template to your liking and open that in Pages.
The problem you will encounter with Pages 5.5.1 is that the List styles are fairly broken and require far more work than they should need.
If you have Pages '09, use that instaed.

  • How to add APA formatting template to pages?

I hear there is a way to download an APA template for use in Pages. Can anyone tell me a safe/secure website to download this from?  Also, are there any apps for MacBook Air that I can download that function as Zotero.com does?
    Thanks.

    Flint,
A quick Google search turns up this excellent-looking page that offers a .teplate download. I looked at the downloaded template, and to my untrained eye it looks very well done.
Check this webpage out and let us know if it solves you need. This is a frequent request and I would like to hear your opinion of this particular source.

  • How can I add a new Template to My Templates in Pages? I've read most of the discussions on the subject but it doesn't work for me. By the time I reach the Templates folder, I only see templates for Numbers and not for Pages. Need help, please.  Thanks

Si vous avez utilisé la commande Save As Template depuis Pages, il y a forcément un dossier
    iWork > Pages
    contenant Templates > My Templates
comme il y a un dossier
    iWork > Numbers
    contenant Templates > My Templates

  • How do you remove templates in Pages 08

    Hi,
I need some help, I have created some templates for my company, but have just updated the logo. I have been trying to remove the old templates but with no luck, I have gone to the "my Template' folder but it is saying its empty! I have tried 'Format / advanced / manage pages' but this is not removing them, any help that you can give would be great, thanks

    Hi all
I Hope this may help someone else who took hours to work this out as I was a bit dumb to see what was staring me in the face I followed the last thread I read to the letter and instead of changing the Numbers folder to the Pages one
    <startupDisk>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:ApplicationSupport:iWork:NumbersEnglis h:Templates:My Templates:"
I went here close but one folder out, instead of the numbers folder go to the Pages folder if you want to change template in Pages (I feel so silly)
    <startupDisk>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Application Support:iWork:Pages:Templates:My Templates:"

  • Can Pages Templates be Sorted in the Chooser?

I doubt I will ever us any of he built-in templates and would prefer to have "My Templates" listed above them. Is there a way to sort the order in which template folders are displayed? At minimum, can the Word Processing template pages and Page Layout template pages be collapsed into their respective headings so they don;t take up so much of the display space?
    Thanks,
    Greg

    Nothing bizarre.
The inthebox templates are stored in the application package itself.
The structure of the display in the Chooser is also defined in this package.
A plist file defines the two groups: WP and Layout and define subgroups in which templates are grouped by kind.
When we open this Chooser, the application displays the inthebox templates according to it's internal structure then complete with the list of templates grabbed from your custom templates folder.
You may dislike it but it's perfectly logical.
inthebox templates are completely different than custom templates.
I assumes that it's one of the reasons for this design.
If you don't want to see the in the_box templates, create an alias of your "custom templates" folder and put in in the dock or on the desktop.
You may also open it from the Menu Script where it would be reachable as a menu item like others.
    --[SCRIPT iWork '09 my templates]
    +++++++
Save the script as a Script, an Application or an Application Bundle: iWork '09 my templates.xxx
Move the newly created application into the folder:
    <startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:
Maybe you would have to create the folder Applications by yourself.
menu Scripts > iWork '09 my templates
If you call this menu from an iWork component you will be able to choose a template
from a "choose file" dialog if the property 'fromDialog' is set to true
from a Finder window if this property is set to false.
    The Finder's Help explains:
To make the Script menu appear:
Open the AppleScript utility located in Applications/AppleScript.
Select the "Show Script Menu in menu bar" checkbox.

  • Can't find a way to delete Templates from the "My Templates" window in Pages.

How can I delete Templates from the "My Templates" window in Pages?

If you want to delete user-made templates, go to ~/Library/Application Support/iWork/Pages/Templates and you'll find the individual files that you can just delete.
If you want to delete iWork's own templates, that's a bit trickier.  Right-click (or Control-Click) on the Pages application, choose Show Contents.  Drill down to Resources and Templates and there they are.  I'm not sure I'd delete anything from the application package, however, so my advice would be to copy the app and try it on that to make sure it doesn't foul anything else up.
    Good luck.

  • Is iWork comatable with iWeb?

I've used iWeb08 but there were not many templates to choose from. I started to customise them and started having fun. However, I just downloaded the free trial version of iWork while I watch the clock for iLife09 to get into the shops in Thailand.
It's the first time I've opened and version of iWork and the templates are all great looking and more like the websites I want to make. Is there a way to get the iWork templates to open up in iWeb? Can I create a website in iWork? and publish in much the same way I can publish from iPhoto to web gallery?
I really like iWeb but haven't seen more than two new templates in the promo. I know about the cool new features they've added in their promo.

A web page and a printed page are not the same. So you can not just copy the Pages templates over to iWeb. The closest you would get would be to save as a .pdf file with interactivity linked into your website.
You could of course match the look by taking the graphical elements of whatever Pages templates you like and reconstructing them as web pages.
For that you will find RapidWeaver and Sandvox much easier to handle than iWeb.

  • Is there a template for a family tree?

Is there a template in Pages for drawing a family tree?

    Lars,
If you Google iWork Family Tree Template you'll get a few hits. If I was going to use iWork to draw a family tree, I'd try Keynote for it's better box and line drawing capabilities, but I haven't done so.
Since you brought up the subject, I'll just say that for me, the best thing about owning a Mac is being able to run Reunion for managing and presenting genealogy data. Nothing but smiles.
