What is the difference between iWork 09 and the iWork 09 Family Pack?
The Family Pack includes a license which enables it to be installed and run on five computers in the same household, while the regular one only allows one installation.

Thanks for your reply. My bad. I meant Macbook Pro (Not powermac). I still have the receipt and the email from the apple store. The total price was $99 as you can see below on the screenshot of the email. I changed the order number just in case. Anyway. I just want a link that would allow me to insert my activation key so that I can use Iwork on my new macbook pro. Thanks in advance again for your help

i just opened my iwork family pack box and it doesn´t have a key. what can i do?
When you go to install it they will probably show you where to find the key. If the key isn't where they told you to find it you should take it back to where you got it and #1 ask them where it is and #2 if they can't find it get a replacement.

IWork family pack - unregistering from one computer...
I bought the iWork family pack and installed it in 3 computers.
Now the third computer is leaving the family (sold) and I want to make sure I'm compliant with the license terms.
I want to uninstall iWork from it (I know, just delete the app) and MAKE SURE THAT MY NUMBERS OF USED LICENSES is back to 2 computers only.
Where do I go or what do I do to de-authorize, un-register, or whatever you call telling Apple "Hey, I'm just using two of my five licenses".
If that is even needed...

Welcome to Apple discussions.
That's nice of you to be concerned with compliance with the license agreement. iWork installations are done on the honor system. With a Family Pack license, you're legally entitled to have five installations at a time. And you don't need to tell Apple about it. Just delete the one you no longer need and know that you have the admiration of all honest people in this discussion group.

Just Purchased iWork Family Pack
Hi,
I just received my new iWork family pack today and I don't understand how it works in terms of installation on multiple computers. My copy has only one serial number. Shouldn't it have 5 serial numbers? One for each computer? I bought my copy from Amazon and there's no instructions in it that addresses installation on multiple computers. As far as I can see, it's a singer user program. I don't want to attack Amazon for deceiving me before knowing what's going on. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

There is only one serial number. The license allows installation on up to five Macs in the same household (described in the license). Apple relies on the moral integrity of its consumers & their products don't "phone home" & report the number of computers &/or their locations. It's up to you to abide by the license. -

If you reinstall iWork using the family pack on the same Mac, it won't count as a second Mac, so you will be able to install it legally on four more Macs

First, you need to make sure it has more than one license, which gives you permission to install it on multiple computers. If it is a single user license, you can not install it on another computer, that is illegal. You need to buy an external drive that reads cd's/dvd's. I bought iwork when i purchased my macbook, it is the family pack and has installs left on it. Can i use it for my ipad2(that they say will take 4-5 weeks!)?

iWork for the iPad is a different application. The discs you bought won't work. If you want iWork on your iPad, you need to buy it through the App Store.

Hello all... am just coming to realize that APPLE has misleaded me into buying a Family pack licence that can actually never be used...
The FAMILY definition for APPLE is not what is in the dictionary or in any customary use... it is infact an HOUSEHOLD licence, and not a family licence:
The installation is apparently (after 1 hour research of the activation code on internet and after 59 minutes on the phone with APPLE customer care) possible ONLY using the original DVD disc that shipped it... this since it was not an ONLINE order...
So when I have to install on a Mac Air that has NO drive and is NOT on the same network it's been confirmed IMPOSSIBLE from the APPLE staff on the phone.
Same goes for my FAMILY that at the moment resides some 12.000 KMs away...
Doesn't it sound like "Ehhhmmm... you got SCREWED!!!!"
This is just the tip of the iceberg of one of the worst consumer experience... after decades long of MAC user, MobileME, and multiple machines...
Very very upset... and at the moment NO SOLUTION to my issue... if anybody has ran in the same issue please share, and if you have a solution I'll be very happy to know it.

I'm on the phone with APPLE they are telling me that since they shipped the DVD they have fulfilled their duties and my customer contract...
And it is simply UNLUCKY that my version of this Software is the ONLY one in the last 5 years that cannot be re-installed through the internet but need the DVD to be installed... without any ACTIVATION KEYCODE.
When I asked APPLE how this is possible I was answered:
"you know sir, technology evolves..."
To which I replied: there is no evolution since 5 years ago I purchased my first copy of iWork and was simply an activation code to un-block the expired trial version... which is the same thing you can do now sinde the DO NOT SHIP the DVD anymore, just a CODE and you download your softare how many times you want provided you can activate it on 3 or 5 different machines, identified through the internet through their MAC Address and serial number...
I'm still holding with APPLE... they have no further reply to this and now are trying to find out how I can access the software when the ONLY DVD stops working, for god knows what reason... -
I recently purchased an iWork Family pack for use on my three macs. I would like to allow my niece in college to also use this software. Do I have to mail her the original disk, or is there a work-around, such as a family pack serial number?, She is currently using a trial version of the software.
The license for the family pack says
C. iWork Family Pack License. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on up to a maximum of five (5) Apple-labeled computers at a time as long as those computers are located in the same household and used by persons who occupy that same household. By "household" we mean a person or persons who share the same housing unit such as a home, apartment, mobile home or condominium, but shall also extend to student members who are primary residents of that household but residing at a separate on-campus location. The Family Pack License does not extend to business or commercial users. You may not make the Apple Software available over a network.
So, unless your niece lives with you when she is not in college, the license doesn't extend to her. She should be able to buy a discounted single or family pack of iWork at her college bookstore or via the online Apple Store for Education. -
Bought iWork 09 family pack a while ago, want to install on new laptop
I bought iWork family pack a couple years (or so) ago and have it installed on a couple Macs. We just got a new (used) MacBook and we want to put iWork on it, but I can't find any way to do that (without paying for it). Any help? Running 10.6.8 and good with it for now. Any help appreciated!

I purchased a family pack version of iLife 06 and received a free trial version of iWork 06 which I have installed on both computers. If I decide to purchase the iWork software, will I receive the reduced rate for the family pack (as was the case with iLife) or will I be charged for two full copies?

When you click the Buy button does it offer you a choice of buying either a single copy or a family pack?

Are there any license restrictions regarding the use of the iWork Family Pack?
Some software has a "commercial use" clause preventing the use in a corporate environment, does iWork have anything like this regarding the family pack.

My hard drive had to be recently reinstalled (5 days ago) with the software being 100% totally new, and totally up to date.
I therefore do not have iwork 09 which was purchased as a family pack (via download). How can I download it again without purchasing, and reactivate iwork09? It does not show up in my App store under purchases, as it was purchased a few years ago.It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

Your problem probably comes from dragging over or migrating the installation over to a new Mac or upgrade.
You have to install from scratch or it goes into demo mode and asks for a serial number.
