IWork 09 installed via CD-ROM does not appear in app store as "installed"

I have a legal copy of iWork 09 installed via CD-ROM, it does not appear as "installed" in the app store. Any idea why?

Haven't had any updates for a while. Just curious if it had something to do with the fact that it does not appear on the app store.

  • Re-installed CS3 and Bridge does not appear...?

    I was having major issues with Bridge (slow-moving, then crashing and finally an inability to open altogether).  I tried a c number of things like clearing caches, repairing permissions etc.  In the end, I uninstalled Photoshop CS3 and deleted all Bridge files, and reinstalled PS from the CD.  However, after the re-instal, Bridge does not appear in the Apps folder and does not seem to have loaded at all.  How do I get Bridge back?  Any ideas?  Clearly I should not have simply deleted the faulty Bridge app., but I assumed a clean re-install of PS CS3 would re-load Bridge.  Any suggestions?  Thanks....

    Don't know why Bridge application was still there while having uninstalled
    PSCS3 using the uninstaller that Adobe provides in either the utility folder
    or in the application folder itself. (or did you you remove the application
    by dragging it to the trash, usually a very bad idea when an official
    uninstaller app is provided for this task)
    However reinstall should by default install Bridge again in the default
    application folder on root level. That is if you have not chosen anything
    else when installing from DVD (you mention CD?  but the original CS3 was
    delivered on a DVD)
    You also should check if the installer has a checkmark in font of all
    application, I think to remember also in CS3 you have the option to choose
    for a custom installation without Bridge. Could you check that.
    And can you also confirm you have a install DVD and PS is in the default
    application folder, that is not in the user account but on root level on
    your system.
    Clearly I should not have simply deleted the faulty Bridge app., but I assumed
    a clean re-install of PS CS3 would re-load Bridge.  Any suggestions?

    Enter the BIOS and see the system information section to get the Product number. That is where it is located in my HP Mini 1000 BIOS.
    The product number is also located on the service tag on the bottom of the mini where it says p/n.
    Use the product number when searching for support & downloads for your mini.

    Hello i recently bought an ipod 4th generation that was 8gb but when i turned it on i noticed that there is no app store. the version is on 6.1.6 what can i do to make the app store appear again please help thanks!

    If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps being set 'off' ?
    If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPod has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

  • HT201322 Swipe-hide does not exist in APP STORE iOS 6.1.4.

    There is an app called snapchat that I need to remove from my child's phone.   It is a chat client that deletes sent messages after 10 seconds, and needs to be removed in order to protect my child.  Evidently there is no way to undo purchase of a free app, but there is a way to "hide" the purchase so that it cannot be installed.   I was referred to this article by iTunes support to "hide" the app from the list of installable apps in the app store, but the article has the following problems:
    - there is no "purchased" button at the bottom of the app store in iOS.
    - when reviewing installable apps on the phone, swiping has no fuction.
    It appears that this article, as well as iTunes support, is misinformed.
    Hopefully am missing something, please help.

    Well that's exactly incorrect, you can hide purchases on iOS6, you need to go to iTunes on your computer to do it.  It's only in the frame of the device UI itself that it is not possible.
    The semantic frame of that statement is not aligned with the subject of HT4919, and as such the post is overall not conforming with Apple's usual attention to usability.

  • OS X updates not appearing in App Store?

    Ever since I upgraded to Mountain Lion last year, OS updates are not appearing in the App Store. Updates for all Apple and non-Apple applications purchased through the App Store appear with no issue, but point updates to OS X 10.8, Java updates, Safari updates, Digital Camera RAW updates, printer driver updates, etc. never appear in the App Store; I have to download all of those directly from Apple's support site. This is usually just an annoyance, but with the release of Safari 6.0.4, there doesn't seem to be any way to get the update except via the App Store, and it's not appearing there for me.
    This issue has persisted across an update to a new machine last December, when I got a new 21.5" iMac to replace my 2009 27" machine, so there is clearly something in my user folder that is causing the issue, but I have no idea what it might be. Anybody have any ideas?

    In further pondering the issue, it occured to me that my wife's iMac has the same issue. While she is signed into the App Store with my account (she doesn't buy any apps on her own for her Mac), I'm wondering if it could somehow be an issue with my network that the App Store doesn't like? I am double-NAT'ed, as I want to be able to use my various Airports together (for AirPlay, etc), but also can't totally disable my U-verse router, either - I wonder if there's something weird going on becaue of that.

    For Snow Leopard >  Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
    For Lion >  OS X Lion Update 10.7.4 (Client Combo)
    Restart your Mac after the combo is installed then try the App Store.

    To start with, if you didn't purchase a family pack license, the Apple end-user software license limits the installation to one Mac at a time. If you didn't get the family pack license, you're better off buy the iWork apps you need through the Mac App Store. You can then install them on any Mac meeting the system requirements using your Apple ID & password.

  • Updates not appearing in App Store

    I'm not seeing all the Software Updates in the App Store that I expect to be there, e.g Safari 6.1 (I'm on 6.0.5)
    iTunes 11 shows up (I'm hanging on to v10!!) along with a couple of purchased apps, but Safari, ProApplicationsUpdate & Remote Access disappeared after I installed the 10.8.5 supplimentary update.

  • Silent install with WEB_JAVA_SECURITY_LEVEL=H does not appear to work

    Oops - posted this in the wrong category after I landed there as a result of a search...
    I have tried to install the jre-7u10-windows-i586.exe with flags: /s WEB_JAVA=1 WEB_JAVA_SECURITY_LEVEL=H but after it is installed, when opening the control panel, the web security level is set to Medium.
    This can also be changed by a normal user. The setting is saved in the CURRENT_USER part of the registry. There appears to be no similar entry in LOCAL_MACHINE.
    I would have expected when the installer option has been used (as admin), the setting would be HIGH for all users and the user would not be able to change it.
    What is the problem?
    OS is Windows XP with all patches.

    I understand why you asked the question: It doesn't appear to be working as designed. ;)
    I offered up what little I know in hopes of helping you solve the immediate problem of applying that setting. I wasn't trying to dance around the problem. :)
    You are correct: it is a per-user setting. There are still a number of ways of getting per-user settings that out there:
    - Via login script, as you suggested;
    - Via GPO - Push the registry key(s) in this example;
    - Via installs - add the registry key as part of the installation to HKCU; for any new user profiles: load the default user hive, add the key there & unload the hive. New profiles from that point on will be updated. You'll still need to do something for existing profiles. (Use one of the two options above for that.)
    You added a new twist on this by mentioning a new element: the ability to lock the setting(s) so that users cannot change them. You'll likely need to leverage deployment configuration files to accomplish this. I don't think registry keys apply here, but I could be mistaken. Once the 'master' files are configured properly, they can be deployed via GPO, login script and even new installs.

    The issue hasn't really 'solved itself' since users can still change the security level. The above will address that.

  • "mail to" does not appear in apps list, so cant change default email to yahoo.

  • Folio update does not appear in app

    We have tried repeatedly, using different methods, to update an article on our folio and the one we're trying to replace remains in thre folio. We have updated the article, created a new version and copied it into the folio (under a different name) & then deleted the old version and renamed the replacement...and still the old one appears. It shows up correctly on the Content Viewer but not the app itself. Any suggestions or ideas?
