IWork '09 not working on Lion after restore

Hello everybody,
iWork '09 on Lion 10.7.5 -- The HD died on me, I had to replace it, reinstall Lion 10.7.5 using the Recovery partition and restore everything else from a backup. After that, iWork '09 refuses to start, displaying the message "You can't open the application Pages.app [or Numbers, or Keynote] because it is not supported on this type of Mac". Went to the App Store to reinstall it but it won't let me unless I upgrade to Mavericks, which I don't want to. Just in case somebody from Apple is reading this -- I paid for iWork '09 and it worked happily prior to the crash *on the very same system*. How do I get it working again in Lion?

Your best bet is to install iWork '09 the same way you did originally, if that was a download and install package or a disk. Once we got into the era of the App Store, things became more difficult. If that's the case for you, you could contact App Store support, I suppose, and see what they recommend.
If all else fails and having iWork '09 is really important to you, you could purchase a disk from Amazon at a very reasonable price.

Local snapshots not working in Lion after restore from TM

After some problems I must restore my MB Pro from TM backup (fresh Lion install and then restore from TM using User Migration tool).
From that point I can't get "local snapshot" working. Normal Time Machine backups are working OK (I must did new complet backup after restore) when I'm connected to my home network, but I can't see any local backups in "Star Wars" view. "Star Wars" view is not accessible when I'm not connected to my TM drive.
When I open /Volumes/MobileBackups folder in Finder, I can see MobileBackup volume mounted, but it have name coded in some hash (3lvtSzcL34......). Inside of this volume is standard /Backups.backupdb/[Computer Name]/.. structure, but with only one snapshot with date and time when I restored my MB Pro from backup.
I was looking online bud didn't find any info, how to get it wokrs again.
What I already tried?
- repair disk permissions - didn't help at all, only 5-8 permissions were wrong on some Java Library
- disabling and re-enabling TM - no change. After disabling TM, MobileBackups volume is unmounted, mounted again after enabling but with different hash name
- manualy turn local snapshots on/off - using tmutil enablelocal/disablelocal have same effect as above
Is there any way how to delete current MobileBackup volume so it can be created again?

IWork is not working on Yosemite after a fresh install from the disk

Hi,
I've freshly install yosemite on my computer.
I first reinstalled my computer with original Snow Leopard and then made the upgrade to Yosemite.
After that I used the Migration Assistant to transfert my old applications.
Most of them are now running perfectly but I'm still facing issues with iWork.
It refuses to launch with a message error saying that "Pages" for example is not working with this version of Mac OS and I should make al available update.
There are indeed updates available from the App store but I can't download them because it is not available for my apple ID because someone else bought it or I cancelled the buying ?!
It's strange because I bought it with my Macbook Pro in 2010 and even after a fresh install from the disk, the message is still the same...
Any idea how to unlock these updates?

I finally reinstalled Snow Leopard / iWork 09' and then upgraded to Yosemite and everything is working like a charm.
This issue has something to do with the use of the "Application migration tool" from Mac Os X Yosemite to collect old applications to the new os from another installation...
I solved my issue this way because I don't have very valuable applications that I want to transfert but for other users, this could be a real issue...

Hi, i first downloaded the trial for iwork 09 on lion and finally bought the disc from an apple store, i deleted the trial and installed iwork and the latest update. i went to go on pages, keynote and numbers and it asks for a serial number, i entered all the codes i could find and none work, can some one please tell me where is the serial number or how to get past it

Apple expected people who downloaded the program to simply buy a serial number via the internet, not to buy the disc version. Meanwhile, the disk version doesn't require a serial number...it's a real misstep that won't be repeated now that the App store exists. In the meantime, take a look at this post which tells you what files you need to delete so the disk version won't ask for a serial number.

Gradebook website will not work on Safari after restore and update.

Gradebook (via Education Solutions Development, Inc) will no longer permit me to log in. I was at the Apple store today to wipe my Macbook clean and they manually restored all of my files. They also updated my Macbook to OS X 10.9.5. The site worked fine prior to all of this. It loads normally, allowing me to enter my username and password. Once I hit "Enter" or click "Submit" however, the password disappears and I am left on the same log-in page. It does not go anywhere. All other websites are working fine. I tried downloading different browsers to access the site, but Gradebook is not compatible with those browsers. I really need to be able to access this site at home.

I have this exact issue as well. I'm very confused! If this doesn't get resolved here I think we might have to go to the Genius bar. What a pain! To circumvent it for now, I've downloaded the Chrome app because it works fine there.

Does iWork 09 not work with Lion? I can't get pages to open any docs.

Exactly what docs are you talking about anyway?
What is the extension on the files?
What happens when you try to open them?
How have you tried to open them?
Have you tried dragging them onto the Pages icon?

There is no such thing as a "Factory Unlocked iPhone "
They are either locked to a carrier who may at some stage offer unlocking
or sold direct to a user by Apple (from their own Stores or online .)
Those iPhones are NOT locked

Ukelele generated custom keyboard layouts not working in Lion?

I asked this question in the stackexchange site a few days ago. Nothing I've tried has worked so far, except for creating a new account. Because a fresh account works, it's got to be something with my preferences, right?

Here's the question from above:
I created a custom keyboard layout with Ukelele (http://scripts.sil.org/ukelele) in Snow Leopard (idea is to generate scandinavian letters with Alt-key, otherwise have a pretty much standard U.S. layout). After the upgrade, the old installed (to ~/Library/Keyboard Layouts) layout wasn't working.
Ukelele seems to work OK in Lion, but whether I put the generated keylayout in a bundle or single file, or save it "/Library/Keyboard Layouts" or "~/Library/Keyboard Layouts" doesn't seem to matter.
Help?

Logged out, logged in, isn't showing in Input sources (I'm looking very closely between "Maori" and "Myanmar - QWERTY").
I've also uninstalled bunch of software and plugins giving suspicious messages to system.log, but hasn't helped.

I created a test account, and lo, the layout works perfectly for it. Also the bug in preferences doesn't show for that account. When trying this on my own account, there are no errors in Console logs with the suggested keywords (I can't seem to locate console.log file, though).

Nuking Library/Caches (and relogging) didn't help.

I did
% find Library -name "*.plist" -exec mv {} {}.renamed \;
and restarted, but it didn't help. I restored the situation with

addendum: I also went through all the .plist files with plutil -s as described inhttp://www.askdavetaylor.com/can_i_check_my_plist_files_in_mac_os_x_for_problems .html. There was some brokennes, but in very unrelated applications.

Did you try removing the printer from the queue and then reinstalling it?
I attempted to print this morning for the first time after upgrading to Lion and discovered that while everything appeared normal on my Epson printer, it would never print.
I opened System Preference > Print & Scan and deleted the printer.
I then added the printer back and it now working again. Worth a shoot first I should think.
Much easier the a downgrade.

iwork is not working on ipad 3, it crashes when its opens, it dosent show my files on keynote, numbers and pages content, but i can access the same on my iphone 5 and icloud. even after update on ios 7 on the latest firmware, its still crashing on ipad 3, can you please help me.

If you restored as new, without using a backup, and still only get an option to restore, there is a hardware problem or the phone was previously hacked (jailbroken, downgraded iOS, unauthorized unlock). Your only option is to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

IPod shuffle does not recognized by iTunes after restore

I have a iPod shuffle (4th gen) and a windows laptop.
After restoring my iPod shuffle (as directed by iTunes), iTunes does not recognized my iPod anymore.
The data in the iPod has been deleted (ie return to the factory settings), but iTunes does not proceed to prompt me to name my iPod and set up sync options etc, it simply does nothing and does not recognize my iPod.
I went on My Computer, and reformatted the iPod shuffle again. As a result of the reformatting, iTunes recognizes my iPod but it requires me to restore my iPod back to factory settings again. It became a cycle of either recognizing the iPod but asking me to restore it; or does not recognize my iPod after restoration.
Please kindly assist me with this situation as it is rather frustrating.
iTunes is in the latest version as I have attempted the trouble shooting support on the webpage.
