IWork 09 - Pages 4.3 versus Pages 5.2

One basic question for three apps. I've already posted this in the wrong group... Grrr!!
Can I delete/remove:
Pages 4.3 if I've upgraded to Pages 5.2?
Numbers 2.3 if I've upgraded to 3.2
Keynote 5.3 if I've upgraded to 6.2
I have an iWork '09 (Pages, Numbers and Keynote) folder in Applications. (I'm assuming this was a default placement, as I do not remember putting the apps in a folder).
I now have the most current Pages, Numbers, and Keynote and they are not in a folder within Applications.
But I have the older apps in the iWork folder metioned above. Can I put the older apps in the trash? Or do the new apps rely on the older?

They are independent but may inadvertently try to open each other's files because they all have the same .pages file extension.
Given the choice trash the new versions they are horrible, clumsy, lobotomised and buggy downgrades.

How do I convert a iWork 08 pages doc to a pdf or Word doc ?

I have an iWork 08 pages document that I wish to e-mail to a general dist. list. So I want to convert the doc to a pdf or Word file so the list can read it.
Must I purchase iWork 09 to do this by either;
1)   opening the 08 doc in iWork 09 pages, then converting to pdf ?
   2) or, opening the 08 doc in iWork 09 pages, then open the 09 converted pages doc in Office for Mac 2010, Word to produce a Word doc?

Thanks for your elegant solutions.
I am going to buy iWork 09 for all our offices, and use iWork 09 because we can upload iWork 09 stuff from our iPads to iCloud and then downLoad the doc's to   different offices to complete the doc's and format them.
The existence of iCloud is going to cause us to abandon all our old Office software and standrize with iWork.
Only wish we could upload iWork 09 docs to iCloud from iMacs, but maybe that will be possible in the future.

IWork 09/Pages?

When opening a word document downloaded from emails or the web, it opens in the expired "Trial Period" iWork 09 Pages app that came with the iMac (mid 2010 model) instead of the Pages stand alone app that I purchased through the App Store. How do I fix this?? It's driving my wife crazy!!

You need to fully delete the demo version then completely reinstall the purchased Pages:

IWeb Compatability with iWork's Pages application

I want to create newsletters in iWork's Pages, e-mail them as integrated e-mails (not as attachments) in Mail and also post them as additional archived webpages on my .Mac hosted iWeb website.
Is this possible?

I just did a little testing. The current version of Pages in iWork 08 did better than I expected. It has both Word Processor and Page Layout modes. Page Layout mode lets you add real pages and word like a layout application.
It places Photoshop and AI files with PDF preview, and the first page of a regular PDF file (I couldn't find where you could choose pages). Choose Insert > Choose. The Help says it accepts all QuickTime-supported file formats.
"After importing an image into a document, you can mask (crop) it and change its brightness and other settings. You can place an image inside a shape, text box, chart element, or table cell. Pages also lets you work with graphics with transparency (alpha-channel graphics)."
Also supports adding 2 and 3D charts, sounds, movies.
I created objects and colored them with the CMYK sliders. I didn't see a way of choosing spot colors.
PDF is one of the export formats (without the choices of course of InDesign). It correctly exported the PSD, AI file, and PDF. It correctly passed the spot colors in the AI and PDF files into the exported PDF. And the CMYK-colored pages objects came out in CMYK!
Much better than Microsoft Word.

Upgrading to the Lion & reinstall again from iWork, the Pages 4.1 worked, however, now every time I open a Page file it keeps opening all the page files

After upgrading to Lion the Pages didn't respond to it. So, I reinstalled the Pages 4.1 from iWork. It worked. However, eversince every time I try open a new or exsisting page file it opens all the pages files that I worked on it last several days or a week. Suddenly many page files on the desktop! Kind of confusing... Can someone help with this issue... Thanks

I have an iPad 2 with iworks, in pages and keynote I noticed it cuts the first letter on the right when I open an imported doc or ppt or even paste text from an email. I type in Hebrew (right to left language).

How to solve?pages and keynote cut the first letter when opening an imported file from doc or ppt or even when pasting text to a new pages document.
I write in Hebrew, which is a right to left language.
Never got a warning that this apps do not work In my language. They are available in my country's AppStore and that was the reason I bought the iPad.

All iWork apps, both for iOS and OS X, have always had bugs that make them unsuitable for RTL scripts for most purposes. The only solution is to use something else.

Really just an issue with the number iWorks page on the website.
At the address below, Apple has a few watchable demos:

IWork(Keynote, pages and numbers) doesn't work well about the issue of copy & paste problem

I think so, too. the Keynote 6.5 is not working well on Yosemite (Mac OS X 10.10.1).
In my case, I can't copy & paste from some program(particularly analysis program in my case) to Keynote.
So, when I check coping & pasting the graph or image and so on to Powerpoint and other programs (one of Office is such word and 3rd programs), It works well. However It doesn't work at Keynote, page and numbers.
Also, I tried to do the following process to solve this issue

Something is wrong with your installation of Keynote
Try this repair for Keynote, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1 delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote by using AppDelete.
2 restart the Mac;   Apple menu > restart
3 immediately after the start chime, press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
         let it fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4 when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and      click repair disc permissions
5 when complete, restart the Mac normally
6 install Keynote from the Mac App Store

In conclusion, I didn't solve this yet!

Keynote 6.5 is stable and reliable under Yosemite for most users.
As with all new operating systems and applications, a small number of users find a few problems.
Copy and pasting text from and into Keynote from all the applications I have, work perfectly: the applications include; Safari, Mail, Word, PowerPoint, excel, Pages, Numbers, iMovie, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
If you want to place graphics into Keynote, use one of the following methods:
Insert > Coose
click the media button on an image placehoder
click the media button on the tool bar
drag and drop from a Finder window
Copy and pasting images into Keynote is not supported

My Question: The title says everything...
... which functions offers me iWork in connection with a tablet (widhout Ink)?
I like to write on keyboard and after draw Sketches under the text.

Just FYI regarding Scribbles:
Scribbles makes it really easy to get a quick sketch or signature into Pages. Just draw something in Scribbles, then hit Command+C, which will copy a bitmap of your drawing to the clipboard (CommandOptionC will copy a higher-resolution bitmap).
Then, just switch to Pages and Command+V (Paste).
You can even use the unregistered version of Scribbles for this, as the unregistered version only puts a watermark at the bottom of the image, and is super easy to crop out in Pages.

Is there a spell check in Danish in iWorks 09 Pages?

I have used the T>more>language>Danish, but it doesn't underline in red when a word is misspelled.
Perhaps one needs to buy the Danish version of Pages, does anyone know if spell check really works in Danish?? thanks

Welcome to the forum.
There is no "Danish" version of iWork they are all the same.
Pages works by styling text as a particular language, so you need to have the text you want to be Danish selected when you choose Dansk in the Text inspector.
I just tested it with known Danish, and some German as well just to see, and it seems to flag the German as misspelt. It ignores English even in Danish text so it seems to always check English as English, assuming the text to be bilingual.
I tested it on the Danish words which passed spellchecking, by altering a vowel here or there and it correctly flags those as spelling errors with red underlining.
I am not Danish so can go no further, maybe fruhulda, can give better advice.

What version of iWork are you trying to use? If you're not using iWork 9.3 in Mavericks, be sure to run Software Update before running any of the applications. You can also download the standalone updater from this page.

Autoconvert iWork files (.pages .keynote .numbers) to Google Docs/Sheets/Presentation.

I'm using iWork every day and i have to use Google Drive. I would like to convert automatically my .pages, .keynote, and .numbers files to Google documents. Is it possible with Automator or AppleScript?

If you download an app called ifiles by imagam.com (http://www.ifilesapp.com/) you can have access to google docs and mobile me/dropbox. So from pages for example... Export to MobileMe, go into ifiles, download from MobileMe, then upload to google docs. I have also heard of a way to replace MobileMe with dropbox... You'll have to google for that. I know that it's kind of a backwards way of doing it... But it seems to work.

IWork'06 - Pages & Endnote X

I've been using Endnote for quite a while, and I find it amazing. The only problems I have once in a while is that the system crashes, but that is due to MS Word. But I really need to use Endnote CWYW, so I have to keep up with Microsofts handicaps, as Endone does not work with Pages. I asked Endnote to make this product compatible with Apple iwork Pages, and they told me that 'Apple does not currently share any developer APIs to interface with Pages.' They also said 'We would like to offer better connectivity between EndNote and Pages as this is a common customer request but we first need Apple to provide the developer tools.'
For the sake of researcher's mental health, and to premiate Apple users, instead of punishing them for their fidelity to mac, I sent an e-mail to Mac asking them when this problem would be sorted out. But unfortunately I reckon I won't probably be getting an answer...

Under most circumstance you will never recieve an email back from apple unless you have direct access to one of the developers working on a specific program.
Your best course is to send it as a form of feedback.
