IWork '09 Trial Install Help

I downloaded iWork '09 Trial Install twice and there is an icon on my screen but I can not get into iWork. When I click on the icon it only gives me the option to re-install not enter the trial program. Any ideas? I have a MAC OS X.

iWork is a series of Applications that includes Pages, Numbers & Keynote. If you want to run one of those apps you can navigate to the Applications folder and locate it or use Spotlight to start it. Personally I prefer Spotlight, just click the spotlight icon in the upper right of this screen (it looks like a magnifying glass) and type Pages or Numbers or Keynote depending on the app you want to run. The keyboard shortcut for Spotlight is Command + Spacebar.
Another way to open one of the apps is if you have an Applications folder on your Dock you can navigate to the iWork 09 folder click it and then choose the app you want to run.

I downloaded the iWork 09 trial onto my MacBook Pro 13" (mid 2010) and used it successfully for the 30 days. I then purchased the iWork 09 boxed DVD.
(Before inserting the DVD and installing iWork 09, I removed the iWork 09 trial, as well as the previous iWork 08 licensed version. I think I made a big mistake doing this!?)
After installing iWork 09 from the disc and launching it, it keeps requesting me to buy a serial number online! I have already followed the instructions of inserting the DVD again and reinstalling.... it just overwrites the existing files. Still the same problem on launching Pages, Numbers or Keynote!
iWork 08 was much better when they shipped a serial number with the boxed disc!
This new iWork 09 without a serial number in the box is just stupid!!??
How are you supposed to activate it??
Should I not have removed the trial version before installing from the disc?

IWork 08 Trial - cant install - damaged checksum

Hi.
anyone and idea how to work around this or draw Apple's attention?
I have tried to download iWork 08 Trial many times by a couple of different browsers, e.g. Safari, Firefox etc.
Each time I do, the install comes up with a "Invalid Checksum" message. I cant install. Cant use Pacifist etc. In Safari, the option NOT to open files automatically is unchecked.
I have seen other folks on the internet have the same problem, so it is just not me.

Funnily enough, when I try JUST the Keynote updater 2.0.2, I get the same error as well.
I am on 10.4.11 and Safari 3.1.

Trial Install Not Working

Hi, my trial install of Keynote will not run or open. When I click on the program icon nothing happens. However, something is being written to the Keynote crash log according to my growl program. The other iWork programs seem to be working fine.
Any ideas?

well caitlin i will go further and say i down loaded CS3 some 3 times and yes no luck in getting passed extracting the files. i have even purchased a trial CD still no luck. i have windows vista buisness.
As far as adobe are concerned it is only a trial and not worthy of there help. i have not found an answer as yet or got any response from adobe or help, and here we are bothe looking to possibly purchase software which in the uk costs £1000 +.
It beats me how a company like adobe hopes to encourage people like myself to upgrade from photoshop elements 6 to CS3.
if you get the download to work please let me know how you did it.

IWork '08 Trial - purchase of serial number

just bought my first macbook (with iWork '08 trial). If I buy online the iWork serial number, do i need to install or buy again an iWork '08 box? or is the iWork '08 trial (with a serial number) and the iWork '08 (the box with the installation disks/booklets,etc) the same? Thank you

Welcome to Numbers discussions,
Congratulations on the MacBook. No you don't need to reinstall iWork08. When you receive the serial number just input it in the appropriate box, Pages > Register Pages, you'll be good to go. That's how I did it. The trial and boxed version are the same same.
You may want to download the PDF users guide for Pages, Keynote and Numbers. On each program Click Help > user guides.

Gordonr18571658 I am sorry I don't have any additional suggestions for how to install Photoshop Elements 1.0 besides installing in compatibility mode for Windows XP.
As an alternative you can find details regarding Photoshop Elements 13 at Picture editor, edit pictures | Adobe Photoshop Elements 13. Photoshop Elements 13 has been designed to install and function under Windows 8.1. There is a 30 day trial if you wish to evaluate the software and complete any current photo editing projects you may be facing.

How do I obtain a serial number for iWork 09 Trial?

I am running Mac OS X 10.7.5 on an early-2009 iMac, and I don't want to upgrade to 10.8 or 10.9.
I can't run the new version of iWork software, but I still have a copy of iWork '09 Trial which I had saved on a USB Pen.
When I try to run it now I am prompted for a serial number - which I'm happy to purchase, but I can't seem to find whereabouts I can find this. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

The iWork 09 applications are now end of life, meaning; you can no longer purchase a licence from Apple, or purchase and download from the Mac App Store.
The only option is to buy an iWork 09 DVD from some where, there are plenty available from Amazon or Ebay.

Uninstall iWork '08 before installing iWork '09?

What's the official / recommended way of doing things? Are you supposed to uninstall iWork '08 before installing iWork '09. I installed iWork '09 on a MacBook, but it didn't replace iWork '08. It installed alongside it.
Is there a proper way of uninstalling iWork '08, or do you simply drag the iWork '08 folder (containing the 3 apps) to the Trash?

You're not going to find an "official" way to delete from the other users here, but we can give our recommendations. Uninstalling is as easy as dragging the whole iWork '08 folder to the Trash & emptying the Trash. You can also use some third-party app deleting programs such as AppZapper.
For the moment, I have iWork '06, '08 & '09 installed on my MacBook Pro. I'm waiting for my boxed version of iWork '09 to arrive before installing it on my iMac. I want to see how installing from the CD/DVD is different than installing over the trial. I have not had '08 & '09 both open at the same time yet, but I have had '06 & '08 open at the same time in the past.

Iwork 9 Trial and converting to Full Version

Hi,
I recently downloaded and installed the iWork 9 Trial, I have then gone out and purchased the CD version of iWork, I then install the CD version to convert the trial to FV, when I am trying to run the program all the comes up is the box to either enter the cd key or buy the cd key online link. As I understand it there is no serial number with the CD version?
I have tried uninstalling iWork and reinstalling but I can't get around this. Each time the same thing comes up.
Any suggestions?

Cannot upgrade from iwork 08 trial to iwork 09

I'm a little late upgrading my system from the trial version of 08. I purchased the full version of 09 but it won't take the serial number/registration code I got at checkout. Please help!!!

You can't apply a serial number you got for iWork '09 to the iWork '08 trial. If you bought the serial number since the release of iWork '09 in January, 2009, you will have received an iWork '09 serial number even if you purchased it from within an iWork '08 app. Download the iWork '09 trial & use your serial number in that.

I installed iWork '08 Trial to test the apps.
I would like to cleanly, completely uninstall iWork '08 Trial. The installer doesn't have an uninstall option.
What's the Apple-recommended process.
Examination with Pacifist shows that there are items that may interfere with iLife '08 if I remove them. (iLifeMediaBrowser, GraphicsAppSupport, ImageKit_Tiger).

There is no need to remove the trial of iWork to install the retail version. All you need to do is click "Buy" on the trial & enter your serial number to convert it to a "non-expiring" version. There is no difference in the content of the trial or the boxed versions.
If you're wanting to remove the iWork trial because you have decided you don't want iWork (as I read the OP's post), dragging the iWork '08 folder to the Trash is a start. Then do a Spotlight search for "iWork" to find the .plist files to delete.

Activating HS from a trial install

I installed HS as a trial as i didnt have access to my hs
info at the time. When i finaly got around to getting it back to
the house from work the trial expired...how can I activate an
expired trial install with my reg key? The disks was lost a looong
time ago...

Hmm, not sure if the trial lets you enter your serial number
or not.
I'd suggest calling support. With any luck they can tell you,
and if they can verify that you bought it, could direct you to an
install download that would work.

Will iWork '09 Trial change iWork '08 files?

I'm downloading the iWork '09 trial now but am hesitant to install given I have really important iWork '08 files on my computer. Does anyone have any information on whether the '09 version will otherwise modify '08 files so that they would be unusable if you uninstall the '09 trial?

Since I installed both iWork '09 Trial & the full version, I can tell you what I noticed:
On my MacBook Pro that had iWork '08, I installed the '09 trial & it added it in the Applications folder as a seperate folder isolated from iWork '08.
I just got my Family Pack '09 disc from Apple.com & I installed it on my iMac which also had '08, and I noticed that it did the same as the trial did, but updated my dock icons to point to the new iWork.
I may have missed that on my MacBook Pro. I'll check again.

IWork '05 re-install

This applies to both Pages and Keynote. I recently had to restore the software on my Mac, but when I try to re-install iWork '05 from the install DVD, I get all the way through the installer to where it says "INSTALL". I click on "INSTALL" and it gives me a error message that says, "You cannot continue. There is nothing to install." Argggghhhhh. Why isn't there anything to install. I need to use Pages again, but i can't seem to find out why it won't work. Any solutions?

That error message usually means the installer sees the receipt from the previous install & thinks the program is installed. Take a look at a tip I wrote not long after the iWork '05 trial was released with Tiger in April, 2004 - Can’t install iWork after using the iWork trial. The bottom section lists all the pieces that need to be removed before the installer will work.
