IWork documents disappearing!

I have a couple dozen iWork docs saved in iCloud. Recently I had toruble opening a few, and when I look at the open doalog, some files have a greyed out file size.
For example, in Mountain Lion, when I launch Keynote and open a file, one Keynote presentation will say 25MB in white, and the file opens, saves and syncs correctly. Another presentation will read 37MB, or whatever, but the size is in gray, and the file doesnt open.
In mavericks, the fire sizes show up as 0 bytes, and still won't open.
If I try to drag the file out of the iCloud window onto my desktop, an error mesage will tell me the pfile can't be converted, please download a new version of Keybote. This happens in Mountain lion and Mavericks, with Keynore 09 and 13. This also happens if I try to drag the doc out of the ~/Library/Mobile Documents folder.
The same thing is happening i Pages. In Keynote, its 7 of my 25 files. In Pages, its 2 of my 10 docs.
Even Time Machine backups are giving the same errors!

It sounds like the files have become corrupted. Moving forward, get into the habit of regularly backing up your work by saving to iTunes from your iOS device.

Thanks but I don't think this will help. Like I said, all of my add-ons were working fine and compatible until after running a previous version of FF. I am sure they are still compatible, but they are not working at all.
I even checked my profile folder and all of the extensions' data is all still there but FF5 is just not reading it correctly. (like adblock plus... I see the folder for it but FF5 doesn't have it on the add-on manager page when I run FF5)

ICloud documents disappeared

I have two MacBooks: new one and an old one. Yesterday I deleted all files from my old computer and today I found out that my iPages documents have disappeared from the new computer. I thought that I only deleted the files that were on my computer and I didn't even know that those two computers were connected through the iCloud. Is there anyway I could get back my documents from iCloud?

Go to System Preferences>MobileMe and sign in (the migration process often logs people out). Then you will be able to mount your iDisk on the Desktop from Finder menu Go>iDisk>My iDisk. You can also access your MobileMe account and iDisk at http://me.com until its termination next June (by which time you should have moved your documents, any websites, and photos in your Gallery, elsewhere - iCloud does not handle these).
As to iWork documents, iWork on your iPhone is a completely re-written set of applications for iOS5 and you will need to purchase them from the App Store.

Transfer from me to iCloud...documents disappeared

I was wondering if it is normal that when I transfered my mobile me account to icloud , all my documents backed up on mobile have disappeared?
Now the only online app available are 'Contact' 'Mail' 'Calendar' and 'Find my iPhone'...
It use to be a 'Cloud' icone on the top left of the screen when signed in mobile me...but it has now disappeared...on iCloud
I can not access neither my personal information, my billing information, other folders such as documents, web, photos...
How can recover all of these missing bit of information?????? How can I recover my work, more importantly?????

Can I choose which iWork documents to store on iCloud?

I was wondering if I can choose which iWork documents to store on iCloud? I have a lot of iWork files on my work Mac but I don't want them all on iCloud, just a couple that I'm currently working on, so that I can easily access and edit them when I'm at home or on the road.

You are free, if you want to store your iWorks documents in the cloud or locally on your mac. The file choser dialog, when you are saving the document, will let you save it either in iCloud or in a folder on your mac. If you later change your mind, you can move the document between your local storage oand the cloud.

The file choser when saving a document. iCloud is the default, but you can select any of your favorites.

Can't Delete iWork Documents

Whenever I try to empty the trash with an iWork document inside, it says they're in use, but I didn't open them at all.

When they've been in the trash for a while, they can be emptied. I think it's answered.

Download iWork documents from iCloud to Mac in Pages 5.0 and Numbers 3.0

Does anyone know how to download iWork documents from iCloud to Mac, most specifically from Pages 5.0 and Numbers 3.0. It seems that Apple have taken away the ability to do so, as in the past I believe there was a download button... All I am trying to do is download the document to attach and send via Gmail.
Extremely frustrating as I can't find any discussion surrounding this problem.

Have you tried right-clicking the document to get an option to download it.

IWork documents will not open in Preview or display with Quicklook

I have recently upgraded to OSX Mavericks and updated to the latest version of iWork (including the fresh installation of Numbers and Pages). However new iWork documents are not are not displaying in Finder with a preview thumbnail, or opening with either Quicklook or Preview. I only see the Pages, Keynote, and Numbers document icons.
The issue is isolated to new iWork documents, as iWork 09 documents still work, as well as most other standard file formats.
I have checked the Quicklook folder my Library, and have the latest 3.0 version of iWork.qlgenerator.
I have tried restarting Finder and Quicklook (in Terminal), as well as restarting the machine. However this has not solved the problem.
It’s not the end of the world, but it is inconvenient.
Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone suggest a solution?

I don't have any Appleworks files but Numbers & Pages users manuals say they will import Appleworks 6 files. I can't say why yours will not if they are Appleworks 6 documents.
I also don't have MacLinkPlus but it might be doing one of two things: saving in a pre-'97 format of Excel or saving with non-standard header information in the file that Numbers does not understand.
I'm not being of much help so far. I've been looking all over and haven't found a solution for you. Sorry.

Is there a way to use Automator or AppleScript to convert iWork documents to Office Documents?

I use iWork for my documents, but I sometimes need to convert a folder of iWork files to Microsoft Office files. It's one thing to convert one iWork document, but it's very tedious when I need to convert multiple documents. I'm hoping to be able to automate this process. By the way, I'm using the latest versions of the iWork applications, which I know have a lot less or no Automator support.

Interestingly, the only Pages specific command in the AppleScript dictionary for Pages 5.1 is Export, and Word is one of the available formats. I have no idea how well it works (and no interest in producing Word docs) but it might be possible to do this for Pages documents.
Numbers 3.1 has just added AppleScript support, but it does not have an Export command.
I don't have Keynote to check.

Missing fonts in iWork documents

My iWork apps keep giving me missing font document warnings when I launch Pages, Keynote and Numbers documents. This is a problem already reported by many other iWork users but I haven't found a satisfactory solution and I'm hoping someone here can help.
When launching an existing Pages document, I get this document warning:
Here's what I see in the Font Chooser. Helvetica has got some new variants like '.Light Oblique'. What the??
But if I quit Pages and then create a new document, I don't get any warnings. The Font Chooser also behaves as usual:
I've validated my fonts, deleted the font cache, repaired permissions in an attempt to fix the problem with no success. What should I do?

I'd like to add perhaps a slightly different perspective to this problem. I'm a graphic designer and use Insider Software's FontAgent Pro to manage all of the fonts on my machine. I use Font Book only to manage the few system fonts that are necessary to run the OS.
I keep the number of activated fonts to a minimum and regularly clean out the font caches to prevent any problems with all of the design apps that I use. I've done this for years and haven't experienced any font-related problems for a long, long time.
When I want to use Helvetica/Neue Helvetica (which is rarely), I use PostScript Type 1 versions of those fonts. I don't want to reinstall the dfont version of Helvetica, because that will create conflicts with the fonts in my commercial work.
Whenever I open or create an iWork document I get the Missing Font error mentioned in this thread. The new version of iWork lets me select a substitute font, but my choice never seems to "stick." Once I close the document and reopen it, the same message reappears. iWork seems to assume that every document must use the dfont version of Helvetica/Helvetica Neue, regardless of what I want.
Why can't I specify what font I'd like to use, and have it become the default for all of the iWork apps? Until Apple fixes this problem the whole suite will have to remain shelfware and I'll keep using Office. I'd prefer to use iWork, but at least Office doesn't insist on nagging me about my font choices.

When adding security with 9.0 Pro Text in Document disappears!

I need to add no print/no edit security to a PDF. When I do this, the text of the entire document disappears after I save it. Why is this happening? Even when I close and open the document again, it opens as essentially a blank document.
When I remove the security and save it again, the text of the document magically appears! What is up with this? Can anyone help?

You need to update AA9. I am not sure which subversion was needed to work with x64 systems. Generally the initial releases have not worked with x64 systems. I think that AA9 will work with x64, but only after updating. The current version of AA9 is 9.5.2. Some have still reported problems with x64 systems after upgrading, but without the upgrade you can probably forget it.

IWork-documents in the cloud

Anyone else having trouble with iWork-documents in the cloud today? I cannot connect to the thru my iOS-devices, neither upload new from my mac.

I have the same problem:
I can only see "Get iWork for iOS" on my iCloud page. Yes, everything is up to date and Documents & Data is set to on both in the iCloud pane and the iWork apps panes.

How do i sync my iWork documents to iCloud from my Mac?

I can't seem to sync my documents with iCloud from my mac. I've installed the latest update for Lion and there are no updates avaiable from any of the iWork applications. The Douments I create on my iPad are there but I can't seem to sync them with my mac.
This is a really important for me as i am a part time student and i work too, so i have to squeeze whatever time i can whenever i can to produce work. I can't always carry my macbook pro so i need to work from my iPad too and i dont have time to keep copying all my files across. I have used dropbox and google documents until now.

It would appear that there's no direct way to synchronize iWork document between a Mac and iCloud the way there was with iDisk, or at least I haven't found mention of it anywhere, and I've been searching for it as I juggle between my iPhone and my Mac all the time. The iDisk sync wasn't automatic on iPhone, whereas iCloud is, which is great, but if you want the files on your Mac, you need to log on to iCloud from a browser, download the files you want, work on them and reupload them. Not exactly what I call seemless.
Hopefully Apple will make iCloud more easily accessible from Finder soon.

IPad doesn't see iWork documents in iCloud

I bought a new 4th generation iPad yesterday and immediately installed Pages & Numbers, thinking I would be able to access all the iWork documents I have in in iCloud. Thus far I haven't been able to figure out how to do this. I have iCloud turned on (on the iPad) and when I opened Pages and Number I got the dialog box saying iCloud was available...did I want to use it. I clicked YES for both apps, but still I don't see any way to view the iWork documents I currently have in iCloud. I don't have any such issues between iClouds and my desktop Mac. Any suggestions? Disregard. It apparently took about 15 minutes for the sync to occur and now I'm seeing my iCloud documents on my iPad.
