IWork for iPad Apps

Downloaded the updates, but it doesn't look like you can put a port number in if you have a webdav server on a different port than 443 or 80. For instance, https://my.webdavserver.com:4443/
It shows up in the error log of the server running with port 443. Any ideas or is this an issue Apple will need to fix?

Found it, I was not aware of the fact that the default port of HTTPS is 443. So basically you need to use https:// if you forward this port to your webdav port, which is more convenient that port 80, as most of us might use this one for their web server. Let's hope Apple adds non-standard ports functionality soon to their iWork for iPad lineup!

You can't access icloud.com on your iPad. You have to access it using your computer browser. After creating iWork documents using the iWork beta apps on icloud.com, you have to purchase the corresponding apps from the app store for your iPad in order to access the documents or create new documents on your iPad.

At this point you will only be able to download whatever is available in the Apps Store in the iTunes Store for India. I doubt very much iBooks or iWorks will be available until the iPad has actually been released for India.

iWork for iPad will also run on your iPhone, if you donwload it there as well (you won't need to re-purchase it). iWork on the Mac is composed of separate apps that are purchased separately, but now come free with newly purchased Macs.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

How do I switch off the Genius for iPad App Store?

How do I turn off the Genius for iPad App Store. Its recomendations are very poor.

I don't believe there's a way to "turn it off", per se. Can you not just not tap the Genius button? Unless I'm missing something, that's the only way you see Genius recommendations in the iPad's App Store app.
BTW, questions about the iPad will generally get the quickest and most applicable responses if posted in the iPad forums.

Same problem here. Apparently NYT has zero support capability. I emailed the. Three times and ive not even gotten an auto responder.

We are are on an E3 license for Office 365. What is the maximum number of devices that a user can connect to the various mobile apps? I had hard 5 was the max, but can not find any documentation to support this. We are interested in using both Office Mobile
and the new Office for iPad apps and want to understand any restrictions at the user level. Thanks.

You are correct 5 devices max per user, these devices could be a PC/Tablet/Phone etc... (they all count as a device)

Hey all,
I want to congradulate the team on iWork for iPad. Awesome..... Awesome awesome awesome. I dont know how you were able to put it all in there, but you did. I cant believe it. This was one of the final things that caused me to decide to buy the iPad was that it would have iWork in it. I just downloaded and installed iWork (all 3 sections) and I just cant believe it. Now I can build my documents in a coffee shop, lolol...
Amazing.

Hi, I am trying to get the free 'skype for ipad' app only when I click to install, it asks for payment! Can anyone explain please?

Even though the app is free, Apple requires some form of payment, such as a credit card to be registered with them. This doesn't mean the card will be charged for a free App. It is possible that you may see a temporary charge for a small amount, about 1 US dollar. This would be a "pending" charge that Apple might use to check the validity of your card. The bottom line is that you will not be charged for the free App.

What is going on with the My Verizon for ipad app? You go to open it up and it says system under maintenance try again later?

As someone who is primarily a Word user, I find myself struggling a bit when working with Pages. Have figured out a lot, and I'm not dissatisfied with the application. What would be greatly helpful would be an iPad specific Pages manual/tutorial that I could download and work with. Has anybody come across one as yet?

Kupiłem iPada mini wifi 13września 2013 i tegoż dnia go pierwszy raz uruchomiłem i aktywowałem. 18 września, wraz z releasem iOS 7 zaktualizowałem urządzenie. Aplikacja iWork (zgodnie z zapowiedziami Tim Cook'a) miała być dostępna na tym systemie za darmo. W sieci krąży plotka o rzekomej dostępności tylko dla urządzeń aktywowanych po 1września. Tak czy owak, oba uwarunkowania spełniłem a w App Store dalej iWork kosztuje prawie 10euro.
Jak można zainstalować go za darmo zgodnie z zapowiedziami Tim Cook'a?

I would say so. However, I did hear of one user that did get the free iWork...I don't remember the exact sequence that was used but try:
Signing out of your iTunes Account:
General>Settings>iTunes & App Stores>AppleID>Sign Out
Power the device OFF
Power the device ON
Sign back in to your iTunes Account and check the status of iWork in the App Store
