Iwork on a macbook air.

So I've been looking into getting a Macbook air for my first mac as a change from using windows seven. I'm a student in year 11 and I need to use word editors and such. I know the Macbook air doesn't have a optical disc drive so I was thinking about downloading pages and such from the macapp store, only trouble is, I don't know how much they cost. So, how much do pages, keynote and numbers cost from the mac app store? (UK) and is there any other way I could download Iwork without using a disc? (Disc sharing isn't available as it would be my first mac and both my parents have windows laptops)

Thankyou for the pricing I'll probably just buy them all seperate, with the first being what I need and the last being what I may need but dont nesicearly need to buy. Itunes/appstore vouchers work on macapp store right?

Just redownlod it from the Mac App Store on any other Macs - you won't have to pay for them again. On your iOS devices you will need to purchase the iOS version which is a different program - again, you will only need to buy it the once for all your iOS devices.

  • How can i install iwork dvd in Macbook Air?

Somebody know how can i install iwork dvd in Macbook Air? I try to use the CD compartment from my Macbook pro, but it don't work... tks

First, share your MB pro DVD drive on the network in System Preferences > Sharing.
Insert the iWork DVD into the MBpro's drive.
Then go to your MBair and click "Remote Disc" in the Finders Sidebar.
You'll see your MBpro listed in the finder window.  Click the arrow next to The MBpro name and you'll see the shared DVD.  Double click that and the installation process should begin.

  • HT204350 how do i install '09 iwork to my Macbook air?

How can I install my iWork '09 to my macbook air if it does not have a CD slot and I dont have an external CD drive?

Do you have access to a computer that has a CD drive? You could then download the applications to a USB Flash drive to transfer them to the MacBook Air.

  • HT202879 IWorks 09 for Macbook Air?

Where can I find iWorks 09 for my macbook air?  I don't want to upgrade to Mavericks yet and I can't find it in the app store.

Buy it from a source such as Amazon or eBay. It'll come on a CD or DVD, so you'll need an optical drive to install it.

This link is from Apple and tells you how to turn on DVD Sharing, which is how you want to do it. You'll stick the disc in the iMac and then it will appear on your Macbook Air as if it were in there.

  • Windows for Mac on Macbook Air?

If I buy a macbook air (MC969ll/a) will my "windows for MAC 2004" work on Lion? Will I be able to load my 09 ILife and 09 IWork onto my Macbook Air laptop?

What do you mean by "Windows for Mac 2004"? Are you referring to Office Mac 2004, if so, no it won't work with Lion as it requires Rosetta.
Yes, you will be able to load iWork '09 and iLife' 09 on your MBA. Your new MBA will come with iLife '09 already preinstalled.

  • My Macbook Pro was stolen, and I have replaced it with a Macbook Air. New hard drive is too small for a Time Machine restore. How do I restore my more-expensive apps (ie iWorks) on my new Macbook without repurchasing them?

My Macbook Pro was recently stolen, and I have replaced it with a Macbook Air. I attempted to simply do a restore from the Macbook Pro's Time Machine backup, but since the new Macbook Air's hard drive is significantly smaller, a Time Machine restore was not possible. I even tried to choose only settings or only my User Profile (option) when restoring, but the backup was still too large to do a restore onto the new machine. How do I restore my more-expensive apps (ie iWorks) onto my new Macbook without repurchasing them? Also, I reaad somewhere that if you went to the Mac App Store and attempted to repurchase the app and clicked BUY, it would simply alert you that you have already purchased the app (and trigger a re-download)... NOT THE CASE... So I just dropped another $19.99 for a second copy of Pages... Not my intention....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you should get a usb backup drive as well.  time machine has limited use in my eyes. it saves things. but older things can be errased ad space drops without telling you
nothing beats data redundancy.  2 saves is. 1.    and 1 is none
im personally not fond of time machne though i use it only for a recovery parameter for a mac
id never ever myself consider time machine a genuine data backup tool.  though most do consider it as such
drive clones such as superduper and carbon copy cloner can clone your entire drive for emergency recovery.  and you can boot from them as well o. another mac

  • Is there a way to have MSOffice-Mac on my MacBook Air sync wirelessly (and non-manually) with iWork on my iPhone without a third-party app?

I purchased a MacBook Air after hearing that it can sync wirelessly with all iOS devices. I then purchased the iWork office for my college courses and found out that the school requires online students like me to use Microsoft Office for Mac. An Apple phone rep explained that this software syncs in read-only mode with the iPhone. Is there really no way - besides third party software like Dropbox, Windows Live SkyDrive, or Docs To Go - for me to sync my homework between iWork on my iPhone and MS Office my new MacBook?

Go through this article: How to back up your data and set up as a new device or do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

  • IWork 09 from disk to MacBook Air?

I already purchased iWork 09 on a disk but I wanted to put it on my new MacBook Air. How would I go about doing this?

This can be done a few different ways.  If you have another mac with all of the updates you can share out the super drive to the mac book air or you can get a USB DVD drive and install it that way.

  • Can I import iWork from my Mac, which has Snow Leopard, to my MacBook Air, which has Mountain Lion?

Can I import iWork from my Mac, which has Snow Leopard, to my MacBook Air, which has Mountain Lion?
I would appreciate any advice on the intricacies of operating with Snow Leopard on my main computer and Mountain Lion on my MacBook Air.

I'm not sure there are any intricacies except you can't use iCloud to keep the two things synced. It would be mostly contacts, Safari bookmarks, Calendars, notes, etc.
Also, iCloud allows saving iWork documents in the Cloud, so you can access them on both systems. That would not be available for the old Mac.
The two OSes are similar enough that it wouldn't be too difficult to work between the two, but there will be differences in using the Finder (contextual menu changes)
I thought I would have more, but I've been off Snow Leopard for so long now, I'll leave this for someone who is currently operating like that or recently switch to Mountain Lion from SL.

  • How do i get my copy of iwork on a cd to my macbook air

I just bought a Macbook Air and I don't know how to get my copy of iworks on it with the CD. Can someone please help.

    Greetings,
If you have an iMac at home you can enable Optical drive sharing through system preferences and then click on sharing. You can then register that drive on your MacBook and then use your iMac's optical drive to access CD data on your MacBook. I hope this helps. For further reference here is an article that may help you as well. I hope this helps.
