Why should I buy an iWork single user package for 79euros if I can also buy 3 apps Pages, Keynote and Numbers for 15,99 each. Is there an extra in iWorks?

No difference, other than there is no disk with a colourful box to put it in. The Apps are exactly the same and if you ever needed to re-install you just download them again (no extra charge).

Can't run Pages (or iWork '08 apps) from external drive

My MacBook Pro is back at Apple for repair, so I created a bootable clone of that machine's hard drive to an external hard drive. While I can boot from that drive on another MacBook, none of the iWork '08 apps will run. They start up, show a menu bar, but won't open any existing files or allow me to create new ones.
Any help?

If you've not previously used iWork on the temporary Mac, you might consider downloading the iWork '08 trial to use. You will get all the functionality of the registered version.
For anyone with more than one Mac that they might ever want to run iWork on, I suggest getting the family pack from the beginning. For only $20 US more, you get to legally install iWork on up to five different Macs in the same household.

Yosemite has deleted my iWork v5 Apps

I did a full transfer of my Snow Leopard System to my Yosemite hard drive.
My iWork '09 has transferred but it has deleted all my iWork v5 apps and when I go to the App Store wants to charge me to install the v5.5 apps.
Anyone else have this? If so have you got any resolution?
I am not willing to pay for the Apps just so I can continue to prop them up for users.

I am running 4.3 and have even tried reapplying the latest iWorks updates.

IWork Mobile App

Hi I was wondering If there is an iWork Mobile app being made for the ipod touch and iphone. I would really like to use this. I would pay money for an app like that being that I use iwork all the time and could use it for school. I would also like to ask which office suite app that is currently available out there is the best and works with iwork? Capabilities, ease of use, interface, etc. Thanks in ahead of time.

Does anyone have new info on this. It's a definite iWorks/Crashplan incompatibility.

IWork/iLife Apps with New iPad Air

iWork/iLife apps are supposed to be free on a new iOS device. I bought and registered a new iPad Air and the Appstore wants to charge me for downloading them. How can I get these on my device without being charge?

I was under the impression they were separate apps. When you bought your iPad Air, you got the iOS versions, but if you want the MacOS versions, you will need to purchase them.
They were free when you purchased a new iOS/MacOS product, but the free software would most likely coincide with that.

Iwork/ilife apps with new ipad

I've just bought an ipad air. How do I get the free iwork/ilife apps? They aren't available for download in the purchased section of itunes...

If your iOS device was activated for the first time after September 1, go to the App Store on your iPad which should open to Featured. If not, tap on Featured at the lower left of the screen & scroll down to Collections & tap on New to the App Store? then scroll down to Apps Made by Apple & tap. You should now see the iWork & iLife apps as "FREE."

Iwork 09 Apps not added to Apple ID

Upgraded an iMac from OS X 10.8.5 to Yosemite OS X 10.10.2.
On starting up in OS X 10.10.2, I went to the Mac App Store to add the iWork 09 Apps and iLife 11 Apps to the Apple ID.
The only App to appear in the Purchases list was iPhoto? iMovie, Keynote, Numbers and Pages did not appear in the Apps List in the Mac App Store?
How do you add these Apps into the Mac App Store so the Yosemite OS X 10.10.2 versions can be Downloaded?
PS: These Apps were added to the App Store on the release of Mavericks, which has never been installed on this iMac.

I went to the Mac App Store to add the iWork 09 Apps and iLife 11 Apps to the Apple ID.
iWork 09 applications are not available from the Mac App Store, they are only available on DVD disc, they are still available from Ebay or Amazon.
The Mac App Store only has the latest version of applications available for purchase, in February 2015 the current version is Keynote 6.5.2 which only runs in Yosemite.

Go to the Mac App store, log in with your user ID, type in Keynote in the search function to locate Keynote
you are not eligible to obtain them free, you will need to pay to obtain the new applications.
These Apps were added to the App Store on the release of Mavericks, which has never been installed on this iMac.
The applications available on the Mac App Store as at February 2015, are the latest versions for Yosemite only, they are not compatible with any other Mac OS.

'iWork '09 apps quit unexpectedly' or 'iWork '09 doesn't open'

'iWork '09 apps quit unexpectedly' or 'iWork '09 doesn't open' The strange thing is after installing I used the Pages app for about a day and a half and then suddenly I couldn't open it. I downloaded all available updates for my system and after doing that it worked until today. The apps open for a couple of seconds and then quit. My error message has the following lines:
Exception Type: Exception Type: EXCBADACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERNINVALIDADDRESS at 0x0000000010794000
Crashed Thread: 6
Anybody have a fix? I tried a reinstall and that didn't work

After applying the combo updater for OS X, use Disk Utility to repair permissions. Also, another good first step in troubleshooting a misbehaving application is to delete its preference file. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist, empty the Trash & then restart Pages.

IWorks (iOS7) apps can not "Send a copy" to WebDAV server

Is there a known incompatibility between iWorks (iOS7) apps and Mavericks OSX Server 3.0.1 WebDAV file sharing?
The problem:
Using any of the iWorks apps (iOS 7 on an iPad Mini or iPhone 5s) I can easily add a “Copy from WebDAV” from our WebDAV server, but I can’t “Send a copy” of any iWorks document (in any format) to our WebDAV server. The app attempts to write the document but hangs up. The resulting file on the WebDAV server has the correct name but only a single byte.
However, Numbers on our antique iPhone 3Gs (iOS 6) can easily “Copy from WebDAV” AND “Send a copy” to the same WebDAV server, signed in as the same user.
Background:
We are running OSX Server 3.0.1 configured for File Sharing over SMB, AFP, and WebDav on an iMac running OSX 10.9.1.

Has anyone been able to "Send a copy" of any iWorks iOS7 document to any WebDAV server?
Since my last post I have confirmed that I can "Send a copy" of Numbers, Pages and Keynote (iOS6 on an iPhone 3Gs) documents to our WebDAV server (OSX server) and open them in Excel, Word or PowerPoint in Mavericks. The test is simple. I open an iWorks app and add a new document by selecting an iWorks template. I "Send a copy" to our WebDAV server. The iWorks iOS 6 apps complete the task quickly. The iOS 7 apps appear to do the same but they never complete the transfer. After a few minutes I cancel the "Send a copy". The resulting file on the WebDAV server has the correct name and file type. But it is only 1 byte long. And for good measure, the failure of iOS 7 iWorks apps to "Send a copy" to a WebDAV server occurs on both an iPad MIni and an iPhone 5s.
Note: I must be logged on to the WebDAV server correctly because both the iOS6 and iOS7 apps display and allow me to navigate the file structure.

Upgraded iPhone 5c to 7.1; no longer have access to free iWork in App Store

I recently activated a new 32 Gb iPhone 5c (last Saturday to be exact); a couple of days ago, I launched the App Store for the first time, and was shown a dialog which listed the free programs I could download onto my phone. Because I wasn't near my home Wi-Fi, I selected 'Not Now', which dismissed the dialog; however, I did notice that the iWork programs that were listed (Pages, Keynote, Numbers, etc.) were free.
Since that time, I've updated my iPhone to iOS 7.1; now, when I go back to the App Store to download the iWork apps, I notice that they all cost something (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote costs 9.99 each, iPhoto and IMovie cost 4.99, GarageBand is free).
My question: did I lose eligibility for free iWork because I upgraded iOS? Or am I missing something (to get to the Apple Apps, I selected "New to the Apple Store?", then "Apps by Apple")?

Thought it had worked but soon found out it had not.
after further days of trying finally, solved it for me Yesterday.
turned off notifications when locked, and bingo, wow.
i have not turned off iCloud but location services are also off.
best thing to do I found was keep checking your usage, settings, general, usage, and flip down to bottom, if the standby and usage are similar there is a problem, if there is a big difference then all is ok. Just keep turning things off and on until the difference is very apparent.
something on my phone was keeping the phone alive even when turned off, and I think this was the phone repeatedly trying to update continually.
to me this is definitely down to the iOS, my wife has exactly same phone and iOS but hers doesn't have any problem and the battery lasts for days.
the guy at the Genius Bar told me to restore the phone via iTunes, not iCloud. This is because iCloud remembers the exact info from your phone and simply reinstates it when you restore, and this includes the iOS too.
when I get home from holidays that's what I'll do, or wait for iOS 8 in few weeks. But I'm so pleased I finally made it work, I was beginning to think ditch the phone and buy Samsung.
anyway anyone out there please try my final solution and let me know if it works for you?

Every iWork '09 app crashes upon template selection

Installed it last night, and Numbers and Pages were both hanging, then crashing on choosing the blank template. When I choose the Grocery template and Checklist template in Pages and Numbers respectively, they both displayed the template and then immediately crashed as soon as I clicked the mouse to try and interact with them.
I can choose any template in Keynote, it just crashes when I try to double-click a title to edit it, or do anything really.
As the apps start to beachball an occurence of ATSServer appears in Activity Monitor, taking up about 50% CPU - I don't know if this is relevant.
I have already re-downloaded the .dmg to check if it was corrupted. Re-installed twice with it, no luck. Deleted all instances of "iwork" in /Library/Preferences and ~/Library/Preferences and the receipt in /Library/Receipts and re-installed - again no change. Repaired permissions out of desperation - no difference.

I think eyeless is on the right track as far as a font or fonts being part of the issue. Another thing to try is to use Font Book to see if any fonts are corrupt/bad, or if there are duplicate fonts. Font Book is in the Applications folder, and here are the steps to try:
1. Once Font Book is launched, make sure you have "All Fonts" selected in the Collection column.
2. Then click on a font name in the Font column, and Select All from the Edit menu.
3. Choose "Validate Fonts" from the File menu.
- This tracks down fonts that may be corrupt.
4. Once that is done, choose "Resolve Duplicates" from the Edit menu.
- This lets you know if you have more than one copy of a font.
Hopefully, once those two things are done you won't see the crash. I know corrupt fonts have caused me no end of grief.

Price difference of iWorks in app store and apple store

Hi there, I'm from Singapore and I'm a Macbook Pro user and I've been considering getting the Keynote, Pages and Numbers softwares. I've noticed that in the App Store, the price is listed as $19.99 for each individual app (for Singapore location), and I've noticed that the bundled package iWorks is priced at SGD$138. Is the App Store price in US Dollars? Why the price difference (apart from the packaging)?

Can't upgrade iWork 09 to iWork 13, App Store shows INSTALLED and will NOT download

When I purchased a MBP in 2010 it came with iWork 09. Each time I launch either Keynote, Pages, or Numbers it tells me there is a new version available and asks if I would like to install. If I say "YES" I get taken to the app store and each of the apps says "INSTALLED" and does not have a download option.
I tried manually moving /Applications/iWork 09 to /tmp but when I revisit the app store it wants to charge me for the free upgrade.
No idea how to fix this.
I wanted to demo this cool new collaboration feature, but it looks like it will have to wait.

Do I need to download and pay for Iwork Numbers App on Mac if I already downloaded it on IPAD

I have Iwork numbers on my Ipad. Do I need to download and pay again to have it on my Macbook for it to work in Icloud?

iPads have a different OS so its apps are different, and will not run on a Mac computer. Yes you need to buy a Mac OScapable copy for your Mac. Practically all software licenses, regardless of publisher, are for installation on one device.

Free iWork/iLife apps with used iPad Air

I bought an used iPad Air with 4G. Now I would like to get the free apps (iWork and iLife) made by Apple. However, I cannot register the iPad to my Apple ID (last user has already unregistered this iPad from his Apple ID) which also means I can't get those apps for free.
Is there a chance to get those apps? Or do I have to buy them?

I can use my Apple ID on the iPad (logging in to the appstore and so forth).
What I can't do is to go to supportprofile.apple.com and enter the iPad's serial number and register this product. It says "According to our records, this serial number is registered to another Apple ID. If you have more than one Apple ID, log in to My Support Profile with that Apple ID to see your other registered products. Not sure if you have another Apple ID? "

Can't print from iWork '06 apps

All of a sudden I cannot print from Textedit or Pages. I can print from iPhoto, and from Mail although it doesn't print the incoming message, just the previous part of the thread. I have gone to Canon and got the latest driver, installed, deleted old and installed new. Have tossed prefs, verified HD, repaired permissions and nothing has helped. Printer is Pixma iP4200. When I tell it to print, it responds but produces only a blank page. I also posted problem to the "Pages, iWork previous to '08" since I run '06.

The problem was a faulty black printer cartridge, although I don't know why it would work in one app and not in another. Anyway, cleaning and tapping on the nozzle makes it work for a while, while I wait for the replacement.
