Iwork serial number app store

Hi All,
back in the past I purchased IWork online and got a serial to activate the trial product htat was available back then from Apple's website. Then Apple opened the Mac App Store and Pages, Numbers and Keynote became available only via that source. Is there a way to redeem my serial number of iWork in Mac App Store so I do not have to buy the same product again to get the latest update announced yesterday (22nd October 2013).
Br.

Looks like Apple has had a change of heart and now all iWork apps are showing the update regardless of where the apps were installed from.

  • Where is my serial number (App Store d/l)

I paid for and downloaded Aperture on my MacPro and am trying to install it on my laptop machine. I don't see a serial number on the email from the App Store confirming purchase and I can't seem to find it in the UI for Aperture. Suggestions?
    Thanks.

This means I have a MobileMe account including Gallery, iDisk etc, etc, yes?
Correct, the new MobileMe account gives you all those things.
Do I also have an iPhone/iPad account under this name that I access from iTunes on my laptop under this account information /and/ I now have an Mac App Store App account under this same information that I access via the App Store App on my computers?
As long as you use the same Apple ID (typically your email address and a password), then everything should be available when signing in with that same Apple ID.
Note - if you changed your email address, then the Apple ID associated with your old email address may be different than the one with your new email address.
And both of these App accounts I can access directly via their respective Websites?
The new one can for sure. I am not sure how Apple will continue to handle an old account that is not current (e.g., the old '.me' vs. the new '.me' account). I would post in the MobileMe forum for any specific questions or issues you run into there. There will be users who have much more experience than I to help with any problems.
The advantage of using these Apps is if I get a new computer or have one stolen or the data trashed I can re-download with my login info?
Also, there will be no dmg or other data (like serial numbers etc) to backup or store because it will all be under one account name is that right?
    Correct.
The idea being that we can use the Mac App Store service for purchasing, installing and re-installing software without having to keep a bunch of install discs, '.dmg' install files and any serial numbers around. The proviso to this is that if a software is discontinued, there is no guarantee that you will be able to re-install. For this reason, I keep a clone of my system disk on an external drive with the software installed that I know I want to use for the foreseeable future.
Or how does this work? For instance I have downloaded iPhone Apps to my iPhone from the old account and now I am downloading Computer Apps and will be downloading iPhone Apps from the new account...
This might be an issue where you need to login differently to download the older apps. I would try to login with both Apple ID's to test to see if the old account is allowed access.
I try to keep the same Apple ID for all my Apple related login details (although I lost my original Apple Discussion forum username 'CorkyO' due to changing from a Comcast email to a MobileMe one).
If you run into problems with logging in to the old account, you may want to contact Apple sales to see what your options are if this creates problems with any of your apps purchased under that Apple ID.

  • Can't find iWork Serial Number after 'Genius' reset MAC OS X?

So my Mac somewhat crashed last week (could not sign in) and the Mac Genius guy downloaded a new MAC OS X software program.
He told me to click-and-drag my previous files [Macintosh HD..., Previous Systems..., 2008-03-27_1212] and now when I try to open iWork 08', *it wants my serial number.*
*But I don't know where my iWork 08' serial number is? Can anyone help!!??*
    Thanks
    -CO767

I believe you mean the genius reinstalled Mac OS X.
The iWork serial number is stored in HD > Library > Preferences & it was likely lost in the crash as it's not part of the system. You will need to find the card with the iWork serial number that was in the original box. If you purchased the serial number online you should be able to find in by going to the Store tab at the top of this page then click on Account (at the upper right of the page under the Search box), then Downloadable software purchases & log in.

  • I just bought iWorks Serial Number Key over the internet. When I use the key, iWorks tells me the key is invalid!! Please help. (I bought this iWorks from someone in Singapore. I am using it in Malaysia)

I just bought iWorks Serial Number Key over the internet. When I use the key, iWorks keep telling me the key is invalid!! Please help. (I bought this iWorks from someone in Singapore. I am using it in Malaysia.). Thanks

Downloaded the Trial version. It still says the serial number key is invalid. On the iWork page where I am suppose to enter the serial number key, the "Go Back" button is always BOLD, but the "Continue" button remains GREY all the time. The "Continue" button remains grey even after I have completed the key entry. I have to type the "Return" key on my keyboard to force enter the key. The message I get is still "Invalid key".
I have called Apple. The first person helped by asking me to delete certain items in some Folders and it still did not work. I was then connected to a senior person, but I heard over the recording that there were 15 persons waiting on the line. I had to end the call because the wait will take too long.

  • How come I don't see free iWork's in App Store.

How come I don't see free iWork's in App Store. I just got a new iMac and installed Mavericks. On my Mom's Macbook Air, it was available in the App Store updates.

iWork and iLife for Mac come free with every new Mac purchase. Existing users running Mavericks can update their apps for free from the Mac App Store℠. iWork and iLife for iOS are available for free from the App Store℠ for any new device running iOS 7, and are also available as free updates for existing users. GarageBand for Mac and iOS are free for all OS X Mavericks and iOS 7 users. Additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available for a one-time in-app purchase of $4.99 for each platform.

  • Preinstalled iWork Serial Number

I just received my brand new iMac, which was supposed to come with iWork preinstalled (yes, I paid extra when I ordered it, so I should have the full version and not just the trial). However, when I attempt to open Pages or Keynote, I am prompted to input my serial number before I can load the application. I have searched through every piece of paper that shipped with my iMac, but I can't find reference to an iWork serial number anywhere. What do I do?!

According to my experience (Intel Mac with iWork pre-installed) you should have an iWork install DVD and documentation which has the serial number (on 2 stickers) on the front of the booklet.
If you don't have that then I'd give Apple a call.

  • Appleworks 6 needs iwork serial number

Tried to start appleworks 6, which was installed on mac when bought 4 years ago and working fine, and a box comes up asking for iwork serial number to continue.  iwork has never been installed, upgraded to or downloaded before this.  Tried downloading iwork 09 to get access to cwk files, but can't use iwork 09 on this system unless OS upgraded.  Current OS is 10.4.11  I have original install discs for 10.4.8.  How do I get access to my appleworks without iworks popping up?  Don't bother asking about file backup disc.

Start by going to an AW document, right click on it (or ctrl-click) and choose get info from the contextual menu.
In the info window, see what application is set to default to open it. If it's anything other than AW, change it by clicking in the drop-down. If AW isn't listed, click 'other' and navigate to AW in the Applications folder. when set, choose the 'always open with' checkbox and then click the 'change all' button in the info window.

  • I'm looking to get an iWork Serial number for my Macbook?

    Hi there
I had to have the hard drive replaced & need to re-install iWORK.
I bought the Mac it came with iWork already installed but I have no box or record of the program so cant just re-install also I got it in early 2013 so it doesn't qualify for the "Up-to-date-program" update.
The computer came with the program installed but Genius bar have been no help & my Apple account doesnt have record of it because I didnt buy it separtly.
I would buy a serial number but cant find anywhere to buy an online version of the program only Amazon.com box versions!
Apple really should just give me a serial number as I imagine they'll know computer came with the program ... are other people having this problem?
    Please help!
    Thanks Tommy

    Hi TommyElectrics,
If you are trying to reinstall the iWork applications that came with your MacBook, you can use the Mac app store to do that. See this article for instructions -
iWork '09: Disc or Mac App Store install may prompt for serial number

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Is there a way to re-download iWork from the app store even though it came pre-installed on my mac before the App store existed?

I bought my macbook with pages '09 pre-installed. I can find my disk anymore. Keynote and Numbers are working properly, but I want to reinstall pages because I am having a few minor issues with it. If I look at pages in the App Store, it shows that I would have to re-purchase it.

    Short answer, no.
Fuller answer, the two are not the same and are not interchangeable. Yes, if you want the MAS version, you will need to buy it. But you should be able to hunt down the trial of the disk version out there on the internet, install it and activate it with your serial number. There is a thread somewhere in this forum from last year that has a link. I hunted it down for someone in a similar situation.
    UPDATE -
    I found the thread;
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20238439
The trial file still appears to be downloadable. This time make sure that you keep backup copies. It may disappear without notice.

  • IWork Serial Number and installation

I purchased the iWork Family pack in July and installed it on my new iMac. I just bought a new macbook yesterday but I cannot find my iWork discs. I know I can download the trial software from Apple.com but what do I do about the serial number? I still have 4 licenses left so I don't want to buy it again.

I'm back because re-reading your message, I feel that something is not clear.
I have a similar problem, I had a problem with my OS so registered an express lane complaint and spoke to an apple tech in the UK a couple of days ago. He suggested I reinstall the OS which i did. The system original came with iwork 06 and i bought the upgrade online. I used to keep all my apple mails which would have had the serial number in a folder which has now disappeared and I can't find it anywhere on my apple store purchase history or itunes (where i know now it wouldn't have been). Its giving me a 30 day trial but as I've paid before I don't want to have to do so again. Most of my folders were copied into a previous systems folder on the HD. I've searched the message boards and thought you guys could help.
Machine is 2-3 year old imac came with leopard upgrade disc, iwork 06 and ilife 06 back up discs.
I don't understand which is the version which you paid for.
If it's iWork '06, you must pay to be able to use iWork '09 more than 30 days.
If it's iWork '09, apply what Peggy wrote.

  • Just bought Iwork - Serial Number?

I just bought the iWork package from the store. And I was wondering if I get emailed a serial number or something, I need to be able to use the program now, and don't really want to wait 2-5 days as it's for a project I need ready by Monday... any help is appreciated.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, Skribble!
In your first post you say:
I just bought the iWork package from the store.
In your second post you say:
I would like the boxed version
I find this confusing. If you have the boxed version, the serial number should be in the box. If you have the trial version, you should be able to purchase the serial number on-line (This may not be true for people outside the U.S.A). Can you explain further what you need help with?

  • Lost iwork serial number

I recently did a clean sweep of my macbook and backed up all my stuff, but I didn't backup iwork correctly so I had to redownload it. But I lost the serial number and I don't want to have to buy it again, and I can't seem to find the e-mail with the number in it. Does anyone know how I can retrieve the serial number?

    Lauren,
Your online purchase should still be a part of your Apple-ID account record.
Go to the Apple Online Store, Log in, and View your Downloadable Purchases.  Your S/N will be listed there.

  • Where is my iWork serial number?

I got an iWork trial with Tiger and after my trial ended I bought the full version electronically. Now I am left wondering where exactly my serial number is. I don't remember having an iWork booklet in my Tiger box and I am sure that I kept everything that came in it. It's also not on the cd sleeve that it came with it. I was wondering where the serial number is located for the Tiger iWork trial version?

I realized how stupid I am. I was looking at the help topic for installing iWork over the iWork trial. Now my question is does it take a couple of days for the serial number to post? Because all it says under my Software Download Purchases is Product, Part Number, and Purchase Date which was yesterday the 19th. Sorry for my stupidity I've just never bought software from Apple electonically before and usually with other companies there is some kind of instructions on where to find your serial numbers for the products you buy and I haven't seen that anywhere in this process.

  • IWork serial number not working

I have iWork '06 on my comp. I went to buy iWork and discovered iWork '08. Great! Bought it and am trying to use my new activation key to get iWork to, well, work and nothing is happening. After I put in the activation key (is that the same thing as serial number) it won't allow me to press the "continue" button. It doesn't even highlight that key as an option to press. Any suggestions?

i had this problem too and did call apple. it's true that the '08 serial # won't unlock the iwork "06 trial. the guy at apple told me to download the iwork '08 trial myself and use the serial number to unlock that. this worked fine. i couldn't find the download, so he had to tell me where to find it:
