IWork templates in iCloud

I daily use iWork both on my Mac and my iPad. What I find really annoying is that eventhough the documents are shared between the devices over iCloud (usually works brilliantly), templates are not. I.e. if I am to write eg an invoice in Numbers, or an offer to a client i Pages, on my iPad I cannot use the template made on the Mac, but rather duplicating an existing invoice of offer in iCloud and change it. That's a bit primitive and as I would like to think, not the Apple way.
Is there any more elegant way to walk around this issue (other than carrying my 15" MacBook with me)?
OK, it's not big a deal, but it's pretty annoying and irritating.

How can I manage and share iWork templates with users on OSX Lion Server?

I would like to use the iWork templates shared in a local Lion OSX Server network.
I would like everybody in the network to use the same iWork templates (is it possible to share these on the server?)
And I want to be able to change or add templates to this shared folder so everybody in the organization has always the same and most up to date templates.
Can somebody please tell me how to do this?

The templates delivered with the apps are embedded in the apps and the license states:
The folder used by the application to reach custom templates is on the local machine.
You may store your custom templates in a folder on the Network but the users would be unable to reach them thru the "Create from a template" menu item. An easy workaround is to install an alias of the folder on every machine.
I'm writing about templates with the official meaning.
If, as several askers, you use the word to name documents, Pages is not designed for this kind of use.
There is no provision in the app to allow several users to work simultaneously on a given document.

Download iWork documents from iCloud to Mac in Pages 5.0 and Numbers 3.0

Does anyone know how to download iWork documents from iCloud to Mac, most specifically from Pages 5.0 and Numbers 3.0. It seems that Apple have taken away the ability to do so, as in the past I believe there was a download button... All I am trying to do is download the document to attach and send via Gmail.
Extremely frustrating as I can't find any discussion surrounding this problem.

Have you tried right-clicking the document to get an option to download it.

Missing fonts in new iWork templates?

Most of the new iWork templates I bring up cause alerts to sound that they contained fonts, which are not on my system.
Shouldn't Apple only use fonts in iWork templates that are included with Macs?
Anyone else have this problem??? Very annoying!

This has been an ongoing problem for quite a few users. Several things have been suggested that have worked for some users but not others. The most extensive thread I've found on the problem is this thread, especially this post which found the problem to be a cache issue. It's not at all unusual for caches to become corrupt. I periodically run a utility to run the UNIX cron routines & clean caches. I prefer YASU because you can’t delete something you shouldn’t as you can with OnyX.

How to upload non iWork files to iCloud...am I missing something?

I am wondering how to upload non iWork files to iCloud..such as pdf's, Xls, etc....etc any type of file really the way I could with iDisk.
Am I missing something simple?

HT5663 why I can not open an icloud email attachment with iworks application in icloud directly?

Hi,
I like this iwork solution in icloud, but the integrity might be developed more. If I got an email to my icloud inbox, I can not open it with iworks application but it will be downloaded instead. It would be very useful to be able to open an attachment onsite, using one of the iworks app.

An earlier incarnation, iwork.com, was available from January 2009 until July 2012. It was always free.

No, they are different apps. The beta one in icloud is for use by PC's as well as Mac's via a web browser and lets users collaborate on documents. It can't removed. Just ignore it if you have no use for it.

Neither of my two Macs will upload or sync iWork documents to iCloud. My iOS divides have no trouble syncing documents to iCloud over the same network as the Macs. I have rest iCloud, and made sure that my iCloud documents preferences were correct. This is getting extremely frustrating. Anyone have some suggestions?

Same problem here after update to 10.7.3 and I need to manually set the wireless. If I disable wireless and reable it again the wireless connects ok

10.5.8 can't download iwork documents from icloud anymore

I am not sure what changed.
I can no longer download iwork documents from icloud because "Download Document" is greyed out.
I was able to download documents from icloud just until recently
I am having this problem with my Powerbook G4 running 10.5.8.
As I said it worked until recently...

Sorry, I'm a bit confused - you said you're using a Powerbook G4 with 10.5.8? According to these system requirements:

You are not able to take advantage of iCloud with a Powerbook.
So which model are you actually using if it worked previously?

Missing custom iWork templates

Where are my missing custom iWork templates?
I run my business with these custom templates. They represent weeks of work and are irreplaceable.
Can't believe Apple did this to us.

In Pages, I see mine when I Pages->File->New From Template->[My Templates]
The menu choice is missing, but if I ⌥⌘N (option-command-N), the Template Chooser opens.
Also works if I press option while File window is visable:

Hi please help me every time I try to open pages,key note or numbers all I get is a page with ICloud and I cant get my template page to write or I cant open an old document that I have made previously with pages. I never had any problems till I downloaded ICloud but even when delete I cloud its just the same its driving me nuts. would appreciate all the help I can get. I have reloaded my Iworks disc but still no luck.

You cannot download iCloud as it is a service built into Mac OS X Lion and Mountain Lion. You enable iCloud from within System Preferences, by signing in with your Apple ID, and checking the services, such as Documents & Data that you want enabled for iCloud use.
Pages, Numbers, and Keynote all open with a similar file dialog that offers a selectable view of iCloud, or On My Mac (local files). The following is a screen capture of that dialog toolbar. Change yours to On My Mac, for each of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
You can always overide the destination location to iCloud for future file save and export operations.
Once you have selected On My Mac, choosing New Document from the open dialog will present the Template Chooser, and custom templates can be saved in default application locations.
