Iwork to microsoft 2008 compatibility

Can iwork projects be converted to Microsoft Office 2008 documents? Want to work with iwork, but my school uses Microsoft. I have both iwork and Office (for the mac) on my imac.

Pages, Numbers and Keynote have Export > Word (DOC) Excel (XLS) and PowerPoint (PPT) options in their menus. Compatibility depends on how complicated the document is.

There are lower cost or free alternatives to MS Office.
IWork is very good and converts Word files easily. If you only need Numbers or Pages, you can purchase them seperately. There is also Neo-Office and OpenOffice.

AppleWorks versus MicroSoft 2008 for Mac

Hi ALL,
How is it possible to open AppleWorks files with MicroSoft 2008 for Mac ??
Maybe it is possible to open these files with Excel.
I have a lot of older files I need to open in any application now I running Tiger.
I need these files again, ones these files was a part of a project that is activating in praxis now.
Any help to gave me a good hind or advice ??

AppleWorks is available on the CDs which where delivered with you three old machines.
The best source would be the one delivered with the G4 machine.
Insert the CD in the CD tray of the G4 machine, open its icon.
I assumes that you will see a folder entitled "bundled applications"
Double click it
respond to the asked questions and navigate to a folder containing AppleWorks installer.
Run it to install a clean AppleWorks on the machine.
Copy this folder on a CD for future use (copy also the set of fonts installed with AppleWorks).
Copy the complete AppleWorks folder on the new machine in the folder entitled "Applications"
Copy the fonts in the folder entitled "Library:Fonts"
I assumes that it will be AppleWorks in a version numbered between 2 and 2.4
Using Disk Utility, create a disk image whose size is 150 Mbytes
Name it AppleWorks 62old then copy the entire contents of the folder AppleWorks 6"
After that, update the installed AppleWorks in version 6.2.9 from
"http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/appleworks629formac.html"
If you are using the continental US version download from the button entitled 15.8MB at right top.
For other versions use the updaters described in plain English.
The old version in the disk image may be useful if you have some old files which AW 6.29 refuse to open. It's a bug which doesn't strike older versions.
There are other kind of install disks.
On some, there is a "standard" folder named "AppleWorks 6"
On other there is a hidden folder entitled "Image" but as you have the machine you will be able to install the program from the installer itself. I don't remember if there is an installer dedicated to bundled programs but I'm sure that with a bit of patience you will find it.

one program = one machine. So, if you grab AppleWorks from the G4, you must remove it from this machine.

Cisco Nexus to use Radius AAA authentication using Microsoft 2008 NPS

I have a Nexus 7010 running
Just wondering if you can help me with something. I'm having an issue with command authorization thru our aaa config. We don't have a problem authenticating its command authorization that is not working. From what I have seen and read Nexus NX-OS 6.x does not have any commands for aaa authorization unless you are configuring TACACS+. My basic config is below if you can help it would be much appreciated.

I have never done this before with ACS but not with NPS. However, you are in the right path. Nexus uses NX-OS which is different in some regards to regular IOS. One of those differences is the AAA setup. In NX-OS you assign users to roles. So for full access you will need to return the following attributes from your Radius server:
Attribute: cisco-av-pair
Requirement: Mandatory
Value: shell:roles*"network-admin vdc-admin"

Remove microsoft office compatibility pack 2007

We have upgraded all clients to Office 2010 so there is not need for microsoft office compatibility pack 2007 so I want to remove it. The compatibility pack was pushed via GPO. I was removed from GPO but "let user continue to use" was selected.
Now when trying to remove it using msiexec /qn /x{90120000-0020-0409-0000-0000000FF1CE} on almost all pcs I am getting a failure and it is not uninstalling. MSIEXEC error code it 1605.Jason

I haven't any HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall.
But I found the key

with values

There is a little change in the GUI, may be related to SP3 for Compatibility Pack, which is installed. That UnistallString worked for me.
In a startup script it must include "/qn" as there is no user interaction. I.e.
msiexec /qn /x {90120000-0020-0C0A-0000-0000000FF1CE}

Microsoft 2008 NPS Radius + wireless controller.

Hi,
We have implemented new Microsoft 2008 NPS Radius for authentification wireless controller.
i am seeing RADIUS server x.x.x.x:1812 failed to respond to request (ID 119) for client ............. in controller. But there no logs hitting to the NPS server either failed or success or other related.
Layer 3 comminucation is fine between controller & server.
As per the debug logs,controller forwarding request NPS server "Successful transmission of Authentication Packet tp ......NPS proxy ".
But there is no further key exchange or successful authentication logs, any idea on this?

Download NTRadPing and test to see if your radius is working. You can put a sniffer on and see if you see packets coming out of the wlc and radius. You can always remove the aaa from the wlc and add it back on and also remove and add back on the wlc as a aaa client on the radius server.

I need to install Microsoft Visio Compatibility Pack which would allow me to view Visio 2013 file format in Visio 2010.

Please upgrade the latest update and run the setup again.
I have done so already. But that didn't make my Visio 2010 (viewer) to open VSDX files.

hey all, i'm starting a business degree at uni and i'm just wondering if iWork or Microsoft Office 2011 would be better to use?

I recently finished a 4 year degree in business management and used MS Office since that is what was the dominant office suite at my college (as is in most colleges in the U.S.) Also, I feel Excel is superior to Numbers, and spreadsheets are something a business major will usually be required to create numerous times throughout the degree program. You can send iWork programs to students/teachers who use MS Office and they will be able to open them as long as you save them in the correct format. To decide for yourself, you can simply download the trial versions of both MS Office '11 and iWork and see which one your prefer.

I'm just wondering which is better iWork or Microsoft Office??
I'm a Science student, so I mainly type essays & do presentations. I submit work to my lecturers & tutors (they use microsoft office) & share with friends.
I also teach in a school, so my notes & presentations need to be opened on the school computer (runs microsoft office).
Is all the changing formats in iWork to risky for me?? I need to be 100% sure my documents open in the class I teach & that they open for my lecturers & tutors as the work I submit is part of my exam marks.

Even Microsoft Office for Mac may not be 100% since it's most likely the ones you would share documents with use PCs. Differences still tend to arise in fonts & spacing. Fonts with the same name may not be the same font.

Looking for a Microsoft products compatibility matix and AD functional levels.

I need to upgrade the AD Forest Functional level from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2. A products compatibility matrix would be a big help.
Both domain controllers are Windows 2008 R2.
Forest Functional Level - Windows 3003.
Domain Functional Level - Windows 2008 R2
We have an old SharePoint Services 2.0 server and I need to know if changing the Forest Level will break the SharePoint site.
Additionally, we have MSSQL 2005 and 2008.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
