IWork Trial install issues...

I am trying to install a trial version of iWork '09. I have downloaded the .dmg file from apple three times now, and every time I try to open the file it comes up with the error message 'invalid checksum'. I can get past that by skipping the verification process in the image mounter and the installer starts fine... but then it runs into an error and tells me to contact the software provider.
As I said I have tried three downloads, all with different browsers and nothing is working... Anyone have any ideas??

Hi spedman975
Is the DL the stated size on the website?
There is a problem with incomplete DLs being marked as finished, when they have failed to get the last few bits.
As fruhulda has said, it pays to have a good, fast DL.
You might be able to get a (legitimate demo) copy via BitTorrent which seems to have better error checking.

  • Fireworks CS6 Trial install issue

I'm on an XP PC and have various other versions of Adobe software. Wanted to try out CS6 at home to see if my work files in CS5 opened ok. Cannot open anything - cannot even get a new file to open/import a photo into a new file. Errors are as follows: C06d007e (unexpected exception) on startup and (could not open file, internal error occured) when opening a jpg.
I have reinstalled the software one time. Chat and phone Adobe support will not assist since this is a trial version of the software.
    Any thoughts welcomed...

Thanks to you both for replying - I was able to solve the problem myself - Microsoft Service Pack 3 installed and there seem to be no issues going forward with Fireworks. Have a great day!

  • Final cut x 10.0.3.mdg trial install issue

    Good morning all:
I am trying to install the downloaded trial version of Final Cut X 10.0.3.dmg on my 1 year old 17 inch MacBookPro (8gigs ram, 2.66 Intel I7)
After I download the file and click on the .dmg to install, it goes through a short verification process, then comes up with an error:
    WARNING
The following disk images couldn't be opened
           IMAGE                              REASON
    FinalCutTrial10.0.3.dmg     Image data corrupted
So, of course, I did delete the .dmg and downloaded it 2 more times and had the same issue.
Anyone know what might be causing this and what, if any, fix there is?
Please advise and thanks in advance.

Control-click the .dmg and select Open With.
There should be several possible apps to do the job.
Try different ones to see whether one of them will work.

  • Premiere Trial Install Issue

I've downloaded and supposedly installed Adobe Premiere CS6 trial. However, I can't find it on my computer, only some of it's components. I'm running Windows 7 32bit. The install did say that 64bit was required, but it ran anyway and said it was installed.
    1. Is this really installed? Not in my program folder.
    2. Is 64bit required for a full install?
    Thanks!

If it is Premiere Pro CS6 then it is not installed.  It will not function in a 32-bit environment.  You can find more details regarding the requirements at http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/tech-specs.html.

  • Cannot install iWork trial

Please help. I cannot install the iWork trial. I deleted the Microsoft Office trial when I got my computer, but now I need to make a presentation for school. After reading that keynote can export in PPT format, I decided to install the trial. But it will not let me.
This is the message I get:

The iWork Tour is a Keynote file, so it won't play if the software is not installed (OmniOutliner may be OS X's "best guess" as to what to use, since the proper app isn't available). In other words, the fact that it doesn't run doesn't tell us very much.
The error message also isn't particularly enlightening, unfortunately, although you may be right that the disc is damaged in some way, or there is some other problem with your system. As a shot in the dark, you might try opening Disk Utility (in your Applications folder, in Utilities), and run Repair Permissions on your hard drive -- there's an outside chance this might fix things. You might also use the same app to run Verify Disc on the iWork disc, and see if it reports any problems, although this would only be diagnostic, as any problems detected couldn't be repaired (since the disc is not writable).
If you have a Mac dealer near you (or a friend with a newish Mac), your best bet might be to go to them and see if they would install a trial version of iWork for you (or if they have a trial disc you could borrow). There shouldn't be any legal issues with this, since all you are asking for is the same thing that came with your Mac originally. Unfortunately, I don't believe that you can download the trial version online -- only the paid version (through the Apple Store) appears to be available.

  • Had to uninstall iWork trial since I bought the pages app and it wouldn't let me print or save.  Now the app store says I have pages installed but I can't find it anywhere to open and use it.  I'm not very computer savvy and am getting frustrated!

Ooops, guess I didn't need to post everything in the title - sorry!  I bought the pages app - but couldn't save or print so with some online searching found that I had to uninstall the iWork trial which had expired.  I did that - but now I can't figure out how to re-install the pages app!!  The app store says it's installed, but I can't find it anywhere to open and use it.  I'm not very computer savvy - and am a first time Mac user and am getting extremely frustrated!  I e-mailed some help center and they can't seem to help me either.  I would appreciate any help/advice that can fix my problem - thanks in advance!!

OK Apple has stuffed up the demo version upgrade process so the first thing you need to do is get rid of the demo.
That includes getting rid of the files in the system.
The instructions how to do that are here:
Note That where you see / that is the sequence of folders, each nested inside each other.
    User/Library/Preferences the com.apple.iwork.Keynote.plist
Means the User (you, the little home icon, whatever you are called on your computer) then the Library folder inside that and then the Preferences folder inside that.
Lion initially hides the System folders from you so you have to go to the Finder > Menu > hold down the option key and click on GO > Library to see it.

  • IWork '09 Trial Install Help

I downloaded iWork '09 Trial Install twice and there is an icon on my screen but I can not get into iWork. When I click on the icon it only gives me the option to re-install not enter the trial program. Any ideas? I have a MAC OS X.

iWork is a series of Applications that includes Pages, Numbers & Keynote. If you want to run one of those apps you can navigate to the Applications folder and locate it or use Spotlight to start it. Personally I prefer Spotlight, just click the spotlight icon in the upper right of this screen (it looks like a magnifying glass) and type Pages or Numbers or Keynote depending on the app you want to run. The keyboard shortcut for Spotlight is Command + Spacebar.
Another way to open one of the apps is if you have an Applications folder on your Dock you can navigate to the iWork 09 folder click it and then choose the app  you want to run.

what happens when you try to instll it?  Does it give any messages?

  • Will installing the iWork trial affect existing Keynote install?

I bought Keynote from the Mac App Store, but I would like to try Pages before buying. I have Office for Mac 2011 installed on my machine, but I have grown tired of Microsoft not supporting it as much as the Windows equivalent. Keynote seems to fairly compatible, so I want to see if Pages is the same way.
So my question is: Will installing the iWork trial from Apple's website (I really just want Pages) affect my existing Keynote installation that originated in the Mac App Store? I really don't want to lose the license.

    TPCG,
You'll always be able to re-download your MacAppStore purchase if necessary, no matter what happens with the trial.
When the trial expires, you'll have to delete it and all the .plist files associated with it, or it will plague you. Yvan Koenig has written a script that makes it easy to clear the machine of the iWork trial, without affecting any documents you have written.
At that point, if you find that you don't have Keynote, don't worry, just go to the MAS and download again.

  • CS3 Trial Install

So, I'm looking to upgrade from flash 8, and I was
downloading the trial for CS3, but it won't install for me.
I get through the system check fine, but then when it
actually begins to install, it asks me to insert the disk. I don't
have a disk, seeing as I downloaded it from the adobe site.
I couldn't find a way to resolve the problem on the
troubleshooting pages, and after trying several other downloads of
the program that didn't work because of the same problem, I was
wondering if this forum could help me out.
    What am I doing wrong?

Hmm, the only think I have left is the origin of the software
    - where did you get the file? If you DLed it from Adobe, I can only
assume there is a problem with your particular machine. You could
try installing that file on another computer...if you have one
available. Beyond that, I can only suggest you read through some of
the old posts on this forum...go to the top of the page and search
for Flash Install. Maybe something in one of those posts will
    answer your question.
I think I also recall seeing something else in the online
knowledgebase or the support section that dealt directly with
install issues of the trial CS3.
Sorry I can't be of more help here. It's frustrating to me
when I can't solve a problem like this.

  • IWork Trial - Bought Disk but cant activate ?

    Hi
I downloaded the iWork trial, loved it and bought the iWork Disk pack
The trial is up and it says enter serial or put in the install disk if you have bought it
I install my purchased product - no joy still get the trial expired and buy or enter serial number box
The box that i works comes in has a sticker on it with numbers and a barcode but nothing that represents the serial number my macs asking for whn i start numbers !
    Please help !
    Dave

It used to be that to update the trial to the licensed version with the box, you just inserted the DVD & ran the installer to convert the trial to licensed. This has changed with Snow Leopard. You now need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user..

  • Trouble converting iWorks trial to full version

    Hi folks,
Background:  I have a macbook pro, upon which I installed iWorks trial many months ago.  I've only just gor around to attempting to click on the links provided to buy the full version. I suspect I'm running into difficulties because I've notice that support for the iWorks trial was withdrawn in April.  I'm seemingly unable to upgrade to full version and am only seeing options to purchase Pages, Numbers etc., separately.
Question/concern:  My question is whether or not I should uninstall the trial version (which I don't yet know how to do) and start over, than attempt to download these individual products, as I'm not sure whether this will interfere with what's already on my MacBook Pro.  Any advice about this appreciated.
    Cheers,
    CB

Easiest way to uninstall iWork is to use Yvan's script
You cannot completely delete iWork by moving the iWork '09 folder to the Trash. Instead, use Yvan Koenig's script:
              •          Go to http://www.box.com/s/00qnssoyeq2xvc22ra4k
              •          Choose public_YK > for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items
              •          Click on uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button
Then you can buy and download the application from  the Mac App Store, if you have MAcOs 10.6.6 or newer.

  • Trial Install Not Working

Hi, my trial install of Keynote will not run or open. When I click on the program icon nothing happens. However, something is being written to the Keynote crash log according to my growl program. The other iWork programs seem to be working fine.
    Any ideas?

well caitlin i will go further and say i down loaded CS3 some 3 times and yes no luck in getting passed extracting the files. i have even purchased a trial CD still no luck. i have windows vista buisness.
As far as adobe are concerned it is only a trial and not worthy of there help. i have not found an answer as yet or got any response from adobe or help, and here we are bothe looking to possibly purchase software which in the uk costs £1000 +.
It beats me how a company like adobe hopes to encourage people like myself to upgrade from photoshop elements 6 to CS3.
if you get the download to work please let me know how you did it.

  • Activating HS from a trial install

I installed HS as a trial as i didnt have access to my hs
info at the time. When i finaly got around to getting it back to
the house from work the trial expired...how can I activate an
expired trial install with my reg key? The disks was lost a looong
    time ago...

Hmm, not sure if the trial lets you enter your serial number
    or not.
I'd suggest calling support. With any luck they can tell you,
and if they can verify that you bought it, could direct you to an
    install download that would work.
(FYI, install issues are free with support)
    hope this helps,
    jeff
