IWork upgrade when not purchased originally from App Store?

I have iWork purchased originally on a disc from BestBuy in 2011 with my MBP. Now when I try to upgrade to the new Pages, Numbers and Keynote, it tells me that they were not purchased in the App store, so I would have to buy them. Is this true? I do already own them, why should it matter WHERE I purchased them?
Oops. Didn't realize this was in iOS. Should not be. I don't think I can move it.

How can I install Mountain Lion in a VMware fusion, if it came with my macbook pro, and not purchased through the app store?

I have Mountain Lion on my Macbook Pro with Retina but I want to install Mountain Lion in a VM for application testing. I try to install it from the recovery partition but it states that when I put in my apple ID, it states that it was not purchased through the App Store. My OS came with my Macbook. Is there anything that I can do to get it to install in a VM?

Not really. The license that comes with pre-installed OS is only for that Mac.

Unfortunately there's no way around this. you will need that password to update the apps. If he won't give it to you, then i'm not sure what to say.
You should have kept the account with the Apps you bought yourself.
Otherwise, as I said, delete the Apps, and buy them again.

Why am I getting unable to purchase message from App Store for free apps on my I pad?

Sign out of your Apple ID, reboot yor iPad and sign in again.
Settings>iTunes and App Store. Tap your ID and sign out.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Go go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store. Sign in. Try to download the free apps again.

I can not load application from app store

I just bought a new Iphone and when I try to upload new free applications (ex Solitaire) on my Iphone from app store, it does not work.
The little icone appears, with loading at the bottom, and then nothing happen (no blue line to show the update progressing) ... after a while the icone desappear .
Any Idea why and what I could do to fix the issue ?

Purchased Garageband from App Store not showing in Purchases

I have purchased Garageband from the App Store and it downloaded seamlessly, worked well for the first few hours, on the next launch it wouldn't start unless i download some additional stuff of 1.6GB of size which i did. Once done and started installing it stops at some point before it completes installing and suddenly closes the application, when started again it askes for the download again. I did try downloading again, same scenario. Also, Garageband is not showing in my Purchases section of the MAS.
Any help is much appreciated.

You may need to, "unhide" the purchase.
Follow the instructions here > Mac App Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases
Try re downloading GB again ...
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Can't update iPhoto and other apps after upgrading to Yosmite. Bought the computer at a Mac Store complete with iPhoto, iMovie, Numbers, Pages etc so the App store sayes we can't upgrade because these were not purchased through the App store.

Until this gets resolved we can't access iPhoto or my iPhoto library. Unfortunately didn't back up my photos before we "upgraded" to Yosmite. Any ideas?

You need to update the information regarding what Mac this is and what version of OS X you're running.
You show a PB G4, which won't run the Mac App Store.

Error message when reinstall numbers '09 from apps store

Asking for a client.
I printed the error message which came from the system when trying to open.
Client had deleted his previous version of numbers '09 from launchpad instead of his '08 version.
Now reinstalled.
upon opening numbers, the program just crashes when numbers starts up.
any ideas?
He's tried time machine, which 'see's' the program, but does not let him run the 'missing program.
I tried install his purchased copy from the apps store.
it says it is installing but then says install once completed.
any suggestions?
this client had used apple works, converted files to numbers '08.
The 'recent files' in '08 won't open at all.
I think the system can't find the application to make the correct install.

Here is an update and more information: I actually have two MBP's. One is a mid-2009 model and one is a new, mid-2012. I transferred files from the mid-2009 to the mid-2012, but I use both computers frequently. This problem only occurs on the mid-2009 and not on the mid-2012. I have authorized both computers.
