IWork with Yosemite on iMac

hi:
I upgraded to yosemite on my mid 2011 iMac...
Does anyone know if iWork is supposed to be included with this upgrade... because if it is, i don't have it anywhere on my system.
And what should i do to get it?
Thanks

Yes, but your computer is not a new purchase. If was free if you purchased a new computer or iDevice or if you were upgrading OS X to Mavericks or if you had the immediately previous version installed. It is not included as free with downloading Yosemite or iOS 8. At least Apple has not made such an announcement. If you are eligible for any free update you will need to look into the current Up-To-Date program.
The iWork apps are free with a new iOS device since 1 SEP 2013. They are free with a new Mac since 1 OCT 2013. They are also free with the upgrade to OS X Mavericks 10.9 if you had the previous version installed when you upgraded.
iWork and iLife for Mac come free with every new Mac purchase. Existing users running Mavericks can update their apps for free from the Mac App Store℠. iWork and iLife for iOS are available for free from the App Store℠ for any new device running iOS 7, and are also available as free updates for existing users. GarageBand for Mac and iOS are free for all OS X Mavericks and iOS 7 users. Additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available for a one-time in-app purchase of $4.99 for each platform.

  • IWork with Yosemite

    Hello,
so i bought my MacBook with Mavericks and had iWork for free but never installed it because i never needed it. Now there is the time where I need it and i thought I could install it, but it isn't for free anymore with Yosemite.
So i wanted to ask if there is any possibility to get it free or do I have to purchase it?
    Thanks for the answers, greetings.

  • Running hardware diagnostics with Yosemite on iMac

I'd like to run Hardware Diagnostics on a 2011 (maybe 2012) iMac.  Yosemite is installed.
Have disconnected everything except keyboard and mouse, shutdown, and tried starting up with the "D" key held down.  With this option, the system boots normally....no diagnostics options.
Tried with Shift D, and system boots in safe mode.
    Help, please.  Thanks!

    Thanks for the reply, Mike.
The disk has never been erased to my knowledge, although OSX has been updated with each new release.  Perhaps an old DVD with Snow Leopard might have the AHT utility?  But will it still run under Yosemite?  Is it safe to give it a try?
We're having 2 problems, and was hoping AHT could help rule out a hardware problem.  Our primary problem is that Logic Pro (up to date version) intermittently stops and gives a message that the system is too slow.  This severely impacts our ability to use the product during recording sessions.  Another problem is that we intermittently get a flashing pink and green checkerboard of pixels ...sometimes about 1 inch square, and sometimes as large as 6 inches square (GPU?)  (This issue doesn't seem to be creating any file corruption, to the best of our knowledge.)
The iMac is a 27 inch model 11,3.  We have 8GB of memory, which, when looking at Activity Monitor, usually indicates only 6.5 GB are being used.  Disk utility hasn't revealed any disk problems.  (A similar system is using about 7.8 GB, and has no similar problems with Logic). Disk is about 66% full.
If we could rule out hardware issues, we'd try to reinstall Logic Pro, and, perhaps, Yosemite.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Printing from acrobat pro 9 with yosemite on iMac retina

My new iMac will not print an annotated form using a completely updated Acrobat Pro 9.5.5. Is there a driver that is missing? When I try to open the form in "Preview" it comes out garbled. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks for the push to getting a cache cleaner -- tried and will see if it keeps the problem in hand.

  • How can I get the older versions of iWorks ('13 the ones that came with Mavericks) now that I've purchased a new iMac with Yosemite?

It just hit me the other day (when my New Mac was on its way) that it would ship with Yosemite and of course ONLY the newest versions of iWorks. This machine is for a person in our business office and she should not have a different version of Pages and Numbers than everyone else in the company. (we upgrade those apps all together so exchanged files can be opened by everyone). I understand the Migration Assistant will only keep the newer versions when Applications is selected in the process and the App Store will not let me get the older version. This machine must have the older (Mavericks) versions of those applications so I'm considering partitioning and installing Mavericks even though it would bork my support. Is there any other way to install those versions on Yosemite?  Thanks!

Thanks for the response. I understand and we Don't have volume licenses. All the apps we download are from our single school admin account. Would it still be piracy if I copied them from her old machine to her new one (both being company machines)
If not, Is there any way to accomplish what I trying to do with compliance? Purchase the apps from somewhere?

Snow Leopard's Startup Disk pref can’t see Yosemite volumes. So the only way to switch from Snow Leopard to Yosemite is to do what Niel mentioned. Doesn't matter whether it's connected by USB or Firewire, although performance via FW would be faster.
Are you saying that Yos/10.10, as a volume located in a mounted external drive won't appear as an option in Snow Leopard's Startup Disc, in Sys Prefs? I've never heard this one before. AFAIK any mounted volume, regardless of OS, should appear there. I would think that, if it appears in the Boot Picker/Startup Manager it would also appear and could be booted to from Snow's Startup Disk. I can't test this myself, since I don't have Yos. Is what you are saying documented somewhere?

  • Trying to install iwork '09 from dvd on new imac with no dvd drive.....iwork is brand new (bought off ebay) in unopened box....I have at my disposal an older imac with dvd drive and a 16GB thumb drive...what is best way to load iwork on the new imac?

bought my mom a new imac this xmas...didn't realize it has no dvd drive....just picked up a new unopened version of iwork '09 for her to use off of ebay....need to get it loaded on the new dvddriveless imac......I have an imac at my house with a drive and a thumb drive i could bring over to her house if I could somehow burn an image of the iwork dvd on the thumb drive...is this possible?  is there a better solution other than buying an external dvd drive?

First use Disk Utilty to make a disk image of the iWork disc on your iMac. Then there are two easy ways to install on your mothers new iMac. One is to copy to your USB thumb drive, visit your mother and install from the thumb drive. The other is to use a free upload and download service like www.wetransfer.com. Upload the .dmg disk image via www.wetransfer.com, then your mother downloads and installs. After installation you'll need to update iWork for Mountain Lion compatibility.

  • Error 150:30 on new iMac with Yosemite

I upgraded from an 8-year old iMac to a new iMac with Yosemite. After migrating everything over, I can't run PSE because it said some files were missing. I re-installed the software using my original disk. Then I got a 150:30 Error. Help!

You can never, never migrate an installed copy of PSE. It's just too complex and has bits scattered all over your hard drive. Unfortunately, one of the things that does migrate is the file that tells PSE it's not on the authorized drive anymore. To deal with this at this point you will need to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
After which you can go around and manually remove all the bits of PSE that you can find, not only from Applications, but also from the library at the top level of your hard drive>application support>adobe, and your username>library>preferences. Spotlight will not help you here; it's programmed to skip these kinds of files. If you need help finding those libraries, post back.

  • We just purchased an IMAC and received a $100 gift card. Can I buy IWORK with this card? If so, how. I have already put in codes etc. but can't find the program.

Can I use an Apple gift card to buy IWORK for my new IMAC? We got a $100 card with our purchase of our IMAC.

Type iWork in the search box and there they are.
You may also buy the iOS versions of the iWork apps in the iTunes App Store if you want to use them on an iOS device, such as the iPad.

    Hi,
Please give this a try: Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)

  • IPhoto 9.6 and 1 password version 5.0 Incompatible with Yosemite on late model 2009 iMac

Anyone else having issues trying to get 1Password Version 5.0 and iPhoto 9.6 to update in Yosemite on a late model 2009 iMac?  When checking for updates, it says these are incompatible.

    Dr Automobile wrote:
Sorry, but there are no new iPhoto or iMovie updates to install other than the iPhoto and iMove updates dated Oct 10th which were released to "address compatibility issues with Yosemite' However, they themselves are now listed as incompatible.
Perhaps someone from Apple could explain this?
    Makes no sense...
Or perhaps you could rebuild the iPhoto database as instructed.
BTW you are not addressing Apple on these forums, Apple does not read or participate in them. These forums are user to user only, the people replying are volunteer end-users just like yourself. If you want to contact Apple directly I would suggest visiting a Genius or calling AppleCare for additional support.

  • Can I mirror my ipad mini to my new imac with Yosemite (or Mavericks?)

    Hello!
I would like to mirror what is on my ipad mini to my new imac with Mavericks 10.9.5 or Yosemite. (In about this Mac, it says 10.9.5, so I guess my question would apply to either Mavericks or Yosemite, since I can update if needed.)
I have seen old posts about this, saying that you must use additional 3rd party software.
Is this still the case, or have things changed with new macs and Mavericks 10.9.5 or Yosemite?
Is there a way to use Apple TV to do this? or Is Apple TV only for HDTVs?
    Thanks!

Thank you, Demo! I had no idea that was possible. Looks like that would be the answer, except.....
I did some additional research just now, and it looks like it was a blessing to me that my new imac didn't come with Yosemite, like advertised, because forums say my Adobe CS3 won't work with Yosemite.
Looks like it would be cheaper for me to get a 3rd party app to do the mirroring, rather than paying monthly for Adobe cc.
Unless someone else knows of another solution that would work with Mavericks instead?
    Thanks again!!!

  • My new iMac with Yosemite displays photo icons with a white border.  How can I remove this border?

How can I remove the white border/'frame' around the photo icons, which I store in folders other than iPhoto?
My computer is an iMac 27" (Late 2014 5K Retina display) with Yosemite 10.10.3.
The border does not exist on any photos /images created on my MacbookPro (Lion) or any earlier computers.  It appears after importing to the iMac and only then after saving in either Preview or Photoshop Elements.
I have looked in all "Preferences" but could not find how to remove the border.
Any advice will be gratefully received.

Thank you for the reply. I wanted to wait awhile in order to ensure that this corrected the issue. For a brief while, it did! However, it did not take long before the screen began once again hijacking my home button presses. This occurs even with Firefox removed from default applications ( triple-checked ).
This never happened before version 35.

  • CS4 Design Premium on a new iMac with Yosemite

I am having trouble installing CS4 Design Premium from the original disks on a new iMac with Yosemite. It keeps going to an upgrade request and won't accept my serial number.
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

I am not a Mac person but it sounds to me CS4 is too old for Yosemite.
