Iworks not free on ipad

I recently updated my iPad to iOS7, and I am trying to install iWorks on it for my students to use.  I was under the impression that iWorks (I really just need Pages) was free for devices using iOS7.  However, when I go to the App Store, it is still showing $9.99.  Anybody know what's going on with this?
Thanks!!

Can I install iWorks free in a new Mid 2012 MBP?
It was adquired in Argentina the last week on December 3rd in a oficial reseller.
I couldnt do that yet. Can I do or the model is too old?

Trying to download iWorks at the App Store but it's asking for $9.99 each? I was under the impression that these three apps where supposed to be free for the new Air?

Try restarting your iPad. That often gets the device correctly registered and will allow the iWork apps to then be downloaded for free.

  • Pages, keynote, numbers not free on iPad Air

I activated my new iPad Air and they were all free and I downloaded them but I was having a problem with iMessage so I reset my device and erased all the content and setting and changed the username of my Apple ID and now when I go to the App Store to try and download the free apps provided to devices activated after September 1st they are not free.

  • Iphoto not free on Ipad Air

I have purchased my Ipad air in February 2014 and created my apple id on the same date, downloaded iphoto for free. But now when i created my new apple id iphoto was not free. Every other apple app like imovie is still free but not iphoto. Why is this happening?

Why did you change your Apple ID?
Probably won't work, but you can try.

  • How To Get iWork Apps Free on iPad 4 Purchased in June 2013?

Since I've got my new 13" MBPr in June 2014, the iWork apps are apparently preinstalled, my question is, can I get the iWork apps free on my iPad 4 purchased in June 2013? On Apple Store on my iPad 4, the iWork apps show a price tag of $9.99 each. Any idea how to get those iWork apps free on my iPad 4 using same Apple ID?

iWorks apps for Mac and iWorks apps for iOS are different products, the apps only work on the appropriate operating system. They are therefore priced and sold separately.

  • Why is iWork not free when I update to ios7

I purchase my iPhone 5 last Seprember 7. I've read that iWork will be free for all iOS device purchase after September 1st. But why is it not downloaded in my iPhone when I updated to iOS 7? When I check in the apple store it is sti $9.99. Have I misread something?

No, JLupina, you did not read incorrectly.
iWork is free when you purchase a new ios device beginning Sept 20.
Downloading the new OS is not a purchase, and certainly not a purchase of a new device.
    Them's the rules.

  • Pages, Keynote, etc not free with Ipad Air?

Sorry I'm new to all this. Just received the new Ipad Air, plugged into Itunes and thought of downloading the iWorks apps which were supposedly free with the purchase. Discovered they were all still priced. Anyone experiencing the same issues?
By the way I have the latest Itunes and using iOS 7.0.4 (which I believe is the latest as well).

As far as I know, they should still be free for you. Sometimes it takes a day or so after you activate before the "Free" option appears in the App Store. When I bought my iPhone 5S, the apps appeared as free the next day after I activated the phone.

  • Apple App Not Free on iPad Air?

i bought my iPad Air 1 Dec 2013 and had recently setup as new iPad using new Apple ID (coz my sister would be using it now instead of me).
i tried to download Apple Apps such as Numbers, Keynote etc but I was prompted to pay while they were supposed to be free.  Anyone has similar experience before?  Could you advise if I would still be able to get those apps for free using new Apple ID?

If you set up the device for her using her AppleID, then yes, she would need to pay for the app.

  • Updating desktop iWork - not free ????

I have iWork already on the desktop. Seems like I have to pay once again to update the desktop suite / iWork. Can that be true ?
    Best Michael

You'll pay more than one way if you do update.
However if you are determined to do it:

The offer of free apps is tied not only to the version of iOS, but the purchase date of the device: Free Apple apps for your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iOS 8

  • IWork apps is not free on my iPad

The apple website says that all iwork apps are free for all iOS 7 devices, but why it's not free on my iPad?

  • IWork is not free on a brand new iPad Air

I bought my iPad Air just a week ago.
According to apple the iWork apps are free to all ios 7 compatible devices activated after 1st of September, but I still have to buy because I used backup straight away from my old iPad before regestrating it as new in iTunes. So how do I get iWork for free now?

Have you tried logging out of your account on your iPad and then logging back in and seeing if they then show as free in the App Store app ?

There really is nothing more to say than what Allan has already said, but to explain just a little further, what you may have read is that once you purchase an iOS app in the app store, you do not have to purchase it again if you need to download it to another iOS device. In other words once you buy the app, you can load it onto unlimited iPhones, iPod Touches or iPads.
You must be using the same iTunes account that you originally purchased the app with in order to download it again. But as Allan said, just because you have it on your Mac does not entitle you to download it free to your iPad.

  • Got a new ipad air but Can't download IWORK for free.

    Hi,
Just got from a family member a new Ipad Air that was bought after September 1.
I wanted to download iwork apps that were supposed to be free, but they weren’t.
I discovered that my family member registered the ipad under his account, and only the on next day he gave me the new device. After I found that out, we deleted the registration of new ipad from his apple ID, and registered the new device under my account (including the serial number of the new device).
However, the iwork apps are still not free. What can I do to get them for free as promissed?
    Any help will be grate...

Go to the App Store on your iPad which should open to Featured. If not, tap on Featured at the lower left of the screen & scroll down to Collections & tap on New to the App Store? then scroll down to Apps Made by Apple & tap. You should now see the iWork & iLife apps as "FREE."
