Iws 4.1 upgrade to 6 (sparc)

hi, have anyone try to upgrade 4.1 to 6 at sparc platform?
i have some difficulty after upgrade, i have no idea to fix it,
if there have no virtul server...
can run after upgraded, but can't changed document root
if there has virtul server....
can not run after upgraded, also can't changed document root
it should be more then these, but I just can go to thoses points so far,
do expert here have any idea?

Hi,
I tried migrating from 4.1SP8 to iws6.0sp1, with software virtual server and without software virtual server. It's work fine for me.
1. if there have no virtul server...
can run after upgraded, but can't changed document root.
You can run virtual server after upgraded. for change document root follow this step.
i) Go to that particular instance -----> click Virtual server class TAB ------> click Manage a Class of Virtual Servers -----> select which virtual server you wan't to manage.
ii) from there preferences TAB ------> select Settings. here you will find Document Root of your virtual server, change it and click ok. And restart the server it will take effect.
2. if there has virtul server....
can not run after upgraded, also can't changed document root.
You can change by above steps.
Thanks,
Daks.

  • Solaris 8 on sparc 2 80 Mhz

    Hello,
I am a noob with sun software and hardware and was curious, before I go and spend what little money I have on Ebay to buy a used sparc system. Does anyone know if a sparc 2 with an 80 Mhz upgrade can support solaris 8? Also, if any of you guru's out there read this, can a sparc 2 be upgraded with a sparc 4 or 5 motherboard? Sorry for the ignorant questions but ya gotta start somewhere and I am dirt poor.

Sorry, Solaris 8 is not supported on SPARC 2. The sun4c architecture is not supported in Solaris 8. System boards are not interchangeable due to powers supply, layout, fans etc. Save up for a SPARC 5 or 10 or Ultra 1 that can run Solaris 8.

  • Firmware for Sparc Ultra 45

Is there such a thing as Firmware updates for the Ultra 45? Some people have told me to update the firmware on your Ultra 45 and you will not have as many problems with the XVR2500 graphics card. I have never found anything that looked like a firmware update for a SPARC workstation.

I guess I never new that firmware upgrades was a X86 thing and PROM upgrades were a SPARC thing.

  • Lucreate - „Cannot make file systems for boot environment“

    Hello!
I'm trying to use LiveUpgrade to upgrade one "my" Sparc servers from Solaris 10 U5 to Solaris 10 U6. To do that, I first installed the patches listed on [Infodoc 72099|http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-9-72099-1] and then installed SUNWlucfg, SUNWlur and SUNWluufrom the S10U6 sparc DVD iso. • Upgrading Solaris 8 to Solaris 10 on SUN Sparc E2900 server

    Hi,
We have a Sparc E2900 server which has Solaris 8 & Veritas Volume Manager 4.0. UFS & VXFS filesystems are under Veritas control.
We are planning to upgrade Solaris 8 to Solaris 10.
    My questions are as follows
    1) Can we upgrade from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10 directly ?
    2) If Yes does Solaris 10 support Veritas Filesystem ?
    3) Which is the best site to get information regarding upgradation ?
    Regards,

Any pointers as to what sequence and how the upgrade should be done?

  • Upgrade Python to 2.7 in Sparc Solaris 11.2

    Hi,
Can anyone suggest a way to upgrade the Python from 2.6.8 in my Sparc Solaris 11.2 to 2.7+?

Python 2.7 is available since Solaris 11. You have just to install the runtime/python-27 package.
For information, this is not an upgrade but a parallel installation.

  • Solaris SPARC upgrade failing

I am trying to apply a Solaris 10 upgrade release to my E450 server, but get the following error during the install process:
"Could not reinitialize system state, please exit installer and try again"
Retrying the upgrade gives the same error.
The current release on the server is 10 1/06 and I am trying to move this on to 10 11/06.
Anyone got any idea what it is complaining about, the upgrade process worked OK on my V480/V490 servers!.

Obviously Sun (excuse me, Oracle) does not intend to support the solaris-10/sparc/firefox-3.6 combination. Firefox 3.6 requires the NPAPI and/or NPRuntime interfaces to java, but oracle does not provide the new "libnpjp2.so" java plugin with the jre-6u18-sparc-solaris java download.
A search at www.oracle.com does not turn up any support announcement about this. You have to learn it the hard way. :(
If you want to continue to use sparc-solaris, downgrade to firefox-3.5 so you can use the old libjavaplugin_oji.so module. Otherwise run Linux or Mac OS X to stay in the unix camp.
