J2EE_Admin cannot access Visual Administrator

I hope all you gurus are doing well.
OK, so here is the issue, I am trying to configure Adobe Froms on one of our SAP systems. Part of the installation requiers me to access Visual Admin. I am able to access VA using the emergency user but I cannot make any changes to the settings. I am NOT able to access the VA using J2EE_ADMIN or any other user. I keep on getting the following error:
Caller Visual_Admin not authorized, only role administrators is allowed to access JMX
When I initially encountered the error I accessed VA using SAP* and there was no Administrators group. So I created the group but I am not sure if that made any difference. I've checked the roles in SAP and J2EE_ADMIN has the SAP_J2EE_ADMIN role assigned to it.
I have also created other users and assigned the SAP_J2EE_ADMIN role to them but it still is not working.
Other than that is there anything that needs to be done within VA to add certain privilages to a Group?
How do I create the Administrators group?
Is SAP* limited to what it can do in VA?

This forum is for Java EE 5 - which means that it's focused on NetWeaver 7.1 and up. These versions do not have Visual Administrator anymore. I think the default administrator is also now called "Administrator" (not "J2EE_Admin" anymore) - but I could be wrong on this last point.
Please could you clarify which version of NW you're using?

You need Xterm/X-windows to access Visual Admin of your remote server with in the network.
I think we can access the PI server,by just download the go.bat file from service market place..

Error in logging using "Default" account to access visual administrator

Dear experts,
i had encountered the following error message when i tried to login to Visual Administrator using go.bat using default.
Unable to look up connection Default
http://L31021:8108/msgserver/text/logon returned empty list of connection parameters
and when i tried using another account and direct connect to a dispatcher node, they say error while connecting.
please give me advice on how to solve the problem.

Hello Tan,
The error from the first type of connection indicates that the message server list of registered nodes was empty. The list is empty when the server and the dispatcher nodes are not running or using different message server.
First check in the dev_server0 and dev_dispatcher files in the work directory that they are connection to the same message server. Then in std_server0.out and std_dispatcher.out try to find why the server and the dispatcher nodes didnu2019t register in the message server. Also check the default trace files of both nodes.

Cannot find Visual Administrator

HI All,
Visual Administrator is supposed to be located here:
Drive:/usr/sap/<systemID>/blabla/j2ee/admin/go.bat
In the file structure of my server, there is no such file!!!
Has anything changed from older versions to 7.1??
Where can I find this damn file (go.bat) or how else can I start Visual Administrator???

nothing has changed in the 7.1 version coz
the path we are using is the
D:\usr\sap\D01\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\admin\go.bat
just check ur path settings correctly.

Cannot Access the Administrator Account

We have Windows 7 pro machines on a Server 2008 domain. I can't logon to a machine because the trust relationship with the domain has been lost. I have tried to remove the machine from the domain and then add it back, but the local administrators account
is disabled. None of the local accounts on the machine have administrative rights so I'm unable to do this as it says access is denied. I've tried all the various fixes, ie run mmc and enable administrators account, boot into safe mode etc but none work. Is
there a way to resolve this without reloading the machine with W7?

Cannot access Bam Administrator via URL

Do I need to configure something in IIS? I used a mix of the Quick Install and the Install instructions. I discontinued the Quick Install after I ran bam\scripts\misc\orabam_ts_users.sql, and install.cmd failed to recognize that the tablespace and users had been created. Here are the details of my installation:
Oracle BAM 10.1.2.1.0
Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, SP 2
Internet Information Services Version 5.1
Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1

hello, I guess your install did not complete fully.
Let us try two options (a) repair existing (b) reinstall completely.
(a) repair existing - in your computer -controlpanel- admin -iis- right click on website, oraclebam, and click on remove/create button to recreate the oraclebam application.
restart iis server and see if this error is overcome
(b) reinstall - using your computer-controlpanel-remove appls- remove (in this order) oraclebam, enterpriselink, oracle dotnet provider (odac), ms dotnet framework1.1.
remove directory c:\temp\bamlog, bamtemp, c:\bam_install1, c:\oraclebam completely and reboot.
using install.cmd and reinstall the prd completely (note - run install.,cmd 3 times).

"Cannot connect to host:" - Visual Administrator Error

Dear Experts,
I am unable to login using Visual administrator and the portal is also down. When i try to login using VA it gives the error
Cannot connect to Host:XXX and Port:XXXX
and when i try to call the portal url i get a page cannot be displayed error is displayed.

Help please. Following the most recent update my voicemail receives incoming messages but I cannot play them. I cannot access visual voicemail either. Also imessaging no longer sends messages. So I have had to resort to text with my work colleagues.

Cannot access key storage in Visual Administrator

I cannot access the key storage node (==> Host ==> Server ==> Services ==> Key Storage) in Visual Administrator.
Everytime I click on the key storage node an error message pops up. It says:
<b>IAIK security library not found
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:iaik/security/provider/IAIK</b>
According to SAP (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e9/a1dd44d2c83c43afb5ec8a4292f3e0/content.htm) the SAP Cryptographic Toolkit has to be installed to use the Key Storage functionality of the Visual Administrator. The SAP Cryptographic toolkit has been deployed.
Does anyone know where I can get that library and where I am supposed to put it? We work with <b>SAP NetWeaver '04 WebAS Java 6.40 SP14</b>.
I appreciate any kind of help.

The missing class should be in the iaik_jce.jar
archive. This archive is present in folder \usr\sap\<SID>
\sys\global\security\lib\tools(or)engine.
Copying this archive to the visual admin's <j2ee-install>
\admin\lib folder, this workaround can solve your issue.
You may also need unlimited strength jurisdiction
policy depending on your JDK version. For more info:

Visual administrator access problem

I'm trying to access the Visual Admin. I created an user with the SAP_J2EE_role, I'm able to access the sap GUI but not the Visual administrator.
ERror is: User authentication failed.

Try this steps
C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\configtool->configtool.bat->open it
1. Click on Secure store
2. Right you will find :
admin/password/J2E->retype your admin passowrd which you gave during installation=>SAVE properly
Restart the server and try login visual admin

I wish I could help, but I am in a similar situation.
I need to deactivate it because we are getting rid of the computer it is on and are buying a new one. When I go to Help there is no Deactivate option. The only options are: "Help", "Hide Coach", "Tip of the Day", "Adobe Website", "Technical Support Website", "Frequently Asked Questions", "Check for Updates", "Register", "Download e-License..." (Greyed out), "Return e-License..." (Greyed out) and "About Adobe Visual Communicator 3". I spoke with support through chat and they said my product was no longer supported.

WSUS 3.0 - Cannot access any web administration.

Hello.
I was wondering if someone could help. We have had a pretty problematic SBS 2008 server and since taking it over I have decided to fix all the issues and ensure a sweet running environment.
Most things are back up and running with no issues apart from WSUS 3.0.
Previously it would appear this had been removed. I re-enabled the feature via Add/Remove Features and followed the simple installation process with no errors after which SP2 installed.
During the installation I was informed that an administration web page would be accessable at http://[servername]:8530
I used the WSUS application on the server to setup the initial synchronisation and accessed the administration page from my workstation only to be show a 403 Forbidden Access errors.
I also tried to access the administration page on the server and was also given a 403 Forbidden message for the directory C:\Program Files\Update Services\Webservices\Root
I looked at that folder and found it to only contain the following:
* aspnet_client (empty folder)
* iuident.cab
* web.config
* WUTRACK.BIN
I was sure I would see more in this folder.
After some looking around I found this:
Ths is non-conclusive; there is no web-browsable content in a WSUS Server.
However, there are a couple of file download URLs you can test to verify functionality.
You should get File Open/Save dialogs from these four URLs on your server:
1. http://servername/iuident.cab
2. http://servername/selfupdate/iuident.cab
3. http://servername:8530/iuident.cab
4. http://servername:8530/selfupdate/iuident.cab
In addition, you can get a web services description page from this web service (but only this one):
5. http://servername:8530/simpleauthwebservice/simpleauth.asmx
The first 2 show No File Found, 3 & 4 download the file and 5 does display a description page.
I am going to setup a test server with a fresh install of WSUS 3 to see what files are created but if anyone else has any ideas on what I can try that would be really appreciated.

Not likely, since there is no administration web page available on a WSUS server.
I suspect you have misinterpreted what the dialog said. What the dialog says is that there is a Virtual Root named
WSUS Administration that was installed and assigned to port 8530.
Do not read into the v-root site name anymore than is actually meant.
This is non-conclusive; there is no web-browsable content in a WSUS Server.
It's unequivocally conclusive. There is NO web-browsable content in a WSUS Server installation.

Yeah, this is all legacy information, hasn't changed in seven years, and no real need to install a second server just to get these details.
