J2EE Admin connection error
I have the following scenario:
The EP6(SP10) user admin was J2EE_ADMIN after the installation. When I changed the autentication to a LDAP Service, this user stopped working. It is ok! I went to the SAP J2EE Visual Admin with the emergency user and added another user as Administrator and it's working fine.
All EP administration funcitions are working, but in the trace files the error described below persists.
I think there is a place to replace this user, but I don't know where.
How and where I can change the J2EE_ADMIN to fix this?
Best regards,
Adriano

Hi Christoph,
If you want to make the connection using the message server HTTP port, I don't think there is a solution to the problem. The SolMan's J2EE message server will reply to the agent with the P4 connection information for a specific app server (e.g. load balancing across several J2EE instances on your SolMan if you have them), and then the agent will attempt to connect to the instance using the P4 protocol.
If it's just a name resolution issue, and you really want the agent to connect to an instance using a virtual hostname, then Purnachand's suggested workaround to connect directly to the P4 port (rather than to the message server) should have worked. You should run smdsetup and provide the virtual hostname and the P4 port. The connection will not be load-balanced -- the agent will always connect to the instance corresponding to the virtual hostname. This technique requires avoiding the automated connection wizard and using the smdsetup script exclusively (since the automated connection wizard does not yet support direct P4 connections last time I checked).
You also say "there is the p4-port locked" --- if you mean, firewalls prevent P4 connections regardless of the hostname (physical or virtual), you will need to take a different approach. Your best bet would be to tunnel your diagnostics agents through a saprouter. In this case the agents would connect to the saprouter on port 3299, and the saprouter would complete the p4 connection to the physical instance. As far as I know this is the only supported way for diagnostics agents to traverse a firewall.
I hope this helps and good luck!

Regards,
Mahesh.Hi,
Please follow this steps:
Creating RFC Destinations in the ABAP and Java Environment
You need to create the following RFC destinations in transaction SM59 (ABAP) and the Visual Administrator (Java):
u2022 AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER
u2022 AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
u2022 LCRSAPRFC
u2022 SAPSLDAPI
Depending on your client settings, it may be necessary to be logged on your SAP Exchange Infrastructure host as SAP system user with the authorization to maintain customizing tables and to release transport orders. Note, that user "SAP*" or "DDIC" does not have these authorizations.
Maintaining the RFC Connections (Transaction SM59)
1. Log on to your SAP Exchange Infrastructure central instance host.
2. Call transaction SM59.
3. Choose Create.
4. Enter at least the following:
RFC destination: AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER
Connection type: T
Description: <your description>
5. Choose ENTER
6. Choose the tab Technical settings and do the following:
a. Select Registered Server Program
b. In the Program ID field, enter: AI_RUNTIME_<SID> where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your Integration Server host. Use uppercase letters only.
c. Enter Gateway host and Gateway service of your Integration Server host. To find out the required parameters:
a. On the Integration Server host, call transaction SMGW
b. Choose Goto u2192 Parameters u2192 Display (see entries for gateway hostname and gateway service)
7. Choose tab Special Options and select the flag Unicode in the box Character Width in Target System.
8. Save your settings.
9. Repeat the steps 3 u2013 8 for the remaining destinations:
Destination
Values
AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
Program ID: AI_DIRECTORY_<SID>, where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your SAP XI host
LCRSAPRFC
Program ID: LCRSAPRFC_<SID>, where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your SAP XI host.
SAPSLDAPI
Program ID: SAPSLDAPI_<SID>, where <SID> is the SAP system ID of your SAP XI host.
10. Leave the transaction SM59 open for later tests.
J2EE Configuration for the Destinations (Visual Administrator)
1. On your SAP Exchange Infrastructure central instance host, start the J2EE Engine administration tool.
2. Choose Cluster u2192 Server u2192 Services u2192 JCo RFC Provider
3. In the section RFC destination, enter exactly the same program ID and gateway options for AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER that you used in the step Maintaining the RFC connection above. Additionally, set the number of processes to 10.
4. In the section Repository, do the following:
a. Enter the parameter for the SAP XI host: Application Server, System Number, Client and Language.
b. For User and Password maintain the login parameters for the user SAPJSF.
c. Select the flag Unicode.
6. Choose Set.
7. Repeat the steps 3 u2013 6 for the remaining destinations:
Destination
Values
AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER
u2022 Corresponding values from SM59
u2022 Number of processes: 10
LCRSAPRFC
u2022 Corresponding values from SM59
u2022 Number of processes: 3
SAPSLDAPI
u2022 Corresponding values from SM59
u2022 Number of processes: 3
Testing the RFC Destination
After you have maintained all RFC destinations in both the ABAP and Java environment, you can check all the connections above as follows:
1. Call transaction SM59 again.
2. Open your RFC destination.
3. Choose Test Connection. No error should be displayed.
This will solve your problem.
Thanks

J2ee Application Deployed,error connecting to 9i db
Hi,
I am working on a Oracle 10g 9.0.4 AS and a Oracle 9i db, both of which I have just installed on red Hat Linux 2.1 Advanced Server.
I have deployed a j2ee ear file in an OC4J container. The deployment works fine as I get the login page correctly. But it fails to go further than that and gives an error "contact system administrator".The Http Server logs show the following error messages :
[Fri Mar 25 13:07:22 2005] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] [ecid: 172.16.117.169:61745:1111736242948,2] MOD_OC4J_0015: recv() returns 0. There

happened to host: midtier.mastek.com and port: 3303 while receiving the first response from oc4j. This request is recoverable.
I have configured a user in the database with the reqd schema and also a datasource pointing to it and whose jndi name I have specified in the application.
Also, I get an error saying in the OC4J container :
05/03/25 13:02:28 log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.apache.struts.util.PropertyMessageResources).
05/03/25 13:02:28 log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
indicating that mebbe the logging hasnt been successfully installed and that's mebbe why I am not getting proper error messages.
I am thinking that there maybe some error in the connection to the 9i database, but cant figure out what.
PLEASE,PLEASE HELLLLPPPPP!!!!Also got these in logs

J2ee Admin User locked on SDM Deployment - BI 7.0 and EP 7.0
Hi,
We had a recent issue on BI iview publishing from the BEX WAD 7.0 in our Production Portal server.
The BEX WAD had the error " Java communication error"
" An Error occured during communication with the BI Components of the J2ee engine"
We traced down to identify that the current stack NW 7.0 SP14 BI Components had issues and had to patch to the next level
However, during deployment of the patch using SDM, the components (all) failed posting the following error. The SDM deployment got struck and the J2ee Engine user j2ee_admin was locked.
Only a restart of the j2ee engine is allowing us to get the Visual Admin connected. But the SDM deployment again is failing and admin user gets locked. Is there any tested solution to solve this.
Kindly help asap.

The restart unlocks the j2ee engine admin user and i am able to login to Visual admin and SDM and not otherwise (SDM is hanged and doesnot allow another session and hence only restart helps me to get into SDM again)
Admin Pwds reset etc from config tool secure store and all possible solutions have been tried before restart.
However, after restart, when we try to deploy again, the deploy fails saying the same msg

J2EE Engine start error: Database initialization failed!
My J2EE engine now fails to start - jcontrol stays yellow. I've followed Troubleshooting pages from help.sap.com Admin manual topic "starting J2EE Engine".
Background:
I was running through JDI Scenario 2+ on a fresh installed WebAS 6.40 at SP9. Using NWDevStudio2.09, I attempted to load a DC, but servers stopped responding. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?????Using the Database Administration section of the help.sap.com library, I found the location of SAPDB/MySQL log files. They are in C:\sapdb\data\wrk\J2E. In 'knldiag' I found entries complaining of Log files being full and tasks put in suspension.
So I figured out to do a full back up of the DB and/or backup the log files. The log file bar (in MMC) still showed 100% full, but I figured out to refresh the view and voila it was empty (so one of the backups emptied it, not sure which one).
After that the DB comes up fine and now my J2E WebAS goes all green.

I guess it happens because of the version, i dont know.
If so, i wanna know if i can download the J2EE Admin Tool or if somebody can give it to me.

RFC connection error when registering PROGRAM ID.
Hi,
I created a RFC connection of type T.
I gave the following parameters ->
gateway host: hostname and then ip-address
gateway service: sapgwxx
Registered program id: xxx
It is giving me the following error:
Error Details Error when opening an RFC connection

Can anyone help me in troubleshooting the issue.
Also I am not able to register this program id in Visual Admin -> Services -> JCo RFC Provider. Here it is giving me an error. Can anyone guide me in this?
Points to be rewarded for any kind of small help.Thanks Ramesh.
I followed the blog. Here are the steps that I did.
RFC destination:
1. To create the RFC go to TCODE: SM59 <b>-> Done</b>2. Create new destination of type T (TCP/IP) <b>-> Done</b>
3. Make sure you select Registered Server Program option before writing your program ID <b>-> Done</b>
4. Write you program ID (remember it's case-sensitive) <b>-> gave the SID name</b>
5. In the gateway host and gateway service write the values of your "Application system" - business system (not the XI server) <b>-> Typed the gateway hostname and gateway service "sapgw<instance no>", that I got from SMGW.</b>
But still I face the same problem. It get the following error:

Database Connection Error Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory
Hello everyone,
Background:
I have a newly installed and configured Ubuntu server running Tomcat5.5 and Mysql 5.0. This server was created in an attempt to migrate from a Red Hat server in a similar configuration, running the exact same webapp. Most of the configuration/classpath differences between the two platforms have been ironed out.
The Problem:
When our webapp trys to connect to the database on localhost, an exception 'java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission localhost resolve)' is generated.
The server.xml configuration is below:
<Resource name="jdbc/EconDollarsDB"
auth="Container"
type="javax.sql.DataSource"
username="user"
password="pass"
driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/DBName?autoReconnect=true"
maxActive="20" maxIdle="5"
/>I can connect to the database just fine using the command line client and the same username/password combo. This configuration has been working fine for at least a year on the older server. The only similar problems I have found on the net (meaning the same exception is generated) involve applets and attempts to connect to different hosts. This case involves a webapp, connecting to localhost, using a configuration that is known to work! I am simply baffled.
The following stacktrace is generated:

Its clearly saying the connect permission is missing with the current available policy.
you add the following permisson entry to the <installed JRE>\lib\security\java.policy file.
(e.g) C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_08\lib\security\java.policy
permission java.security.AllPermission;
grant{
permission java.security.AllPermission;
If the application is running standalone then the code is allowed uncontrolled access but for webapplicatons running through browser, the security check is performed for the configured JRE.

Karthik

Hello,
We have crystal reports published on the BOBJ system and the datasource is SAP BI system . The reports were working fine
untill last monday when they started giving error " Database Connection Error " .
This is what happening, when we run the crystal report , it will come up with a pop up for selection and upon giving the selection and click on execute , it is giving error.
To start we have this issue in BOBJ dev system , but now we have the same issue in QA and Prod as well. I suspected
this has to do with license keys, but my BOBJ Admin *** basis team thinks otherwise.
I couldnt think of would have gone wrong or missing . Any ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ravi.Ingo,
I tested the reports using the crystal designer, and they ran fine without issues . The same report when we run on BOBJ/infoview it is giving data base connection error. The same is happening across all the 3 systems( Dev, QA and Prod ).
I also tested the verify database on the crystal designer and it say " data is up to date".
As the client level integration seems to be working fine, I'm thinking there is a issue with server level integration.
Can you through some insight into the checks we can do get to the bottom?
Thanks,
Raju. -
Dear Apple Support Community!
I installed Mavericks OS X on my iMac immediately after it was released. I was soon starting to experience trouble with logging in to Mail and App Store. After contacting Apple Support and trying various tips and tricks to no avail, like re-installing Mavericks for instance, I just decided to wait for an update of the OS X to see if that would solve my problems. Unfortunately, that didn't help either.
I therefore turn to the Apple Support Communities in hope of expert help that will solve my problems.
Here are the actions that result in error messages:
Mail > Choose a mail account to add > Google > Continue > Name/Email Address/Password > Set Up > A connection error occurred.
App Store > Sign In > Apple ID/Password > Sign In > Connection failed.
I have three accounts on my computer:
System Administrator, Guest Account and Other.
I use the “Other” account as my regular account. When I log in to the System Administrator or Guest Account I don’t experience any problems; Mail and App Store work as they should.
Booting in safe mode does not solve the problem:
I disconnected all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and removed all aftermarket expansion cards. I booted in safe mode and logged in to the account with the problem.
I tested the said actions while in safe mode. The problems were the same.
After testing, I rebooted as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verified that I still had the problems.
Info about my Mac:
iMac
24-inch Mid 2007
Processor 2,8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB

But fortunately, I have been able to solve many of them after a lot of trial & error, frustration and sweat! I now long for the more than 2 years of previous Snow Leopard usage when problems were small, few and far between, and quickly solvable. I feel as if Apple has cut me adrift and left me to struggle on my own with the seemingly numerous problems of getting the performance of Mavericks to finally stabilize on my iMac.
Øystein's Feb. 8th post asks some of the same Mavericks questions that I still have. It would be very helpful to me, and to others I'm sure, if someone/anyone has specific suggestions or solutions on what one could/should do to fix specific problems with newly installed Mavericks OSs, short of a clean, full re-install of the OS.
I have one admin account plus the guest account on my iMac Mavericks. Does this mean my admin account is a/the root account?! How can one tell whether or not they are logging in with a root account?! What's the distinction between the root account, a user's admin account, and other standard users' accounts?! Could someone please recommend a definitive Apple document describing all the various types of Mavericks accounts, in detail, and how/when/where/why each type should be used before or along with any of the others?
Why is it suddenly a no-no to log on to Mavericks via the root user account, when previous OS versions had no problem with this?! What's the purpose of the root user account if not to use it to log on to the computer?! If it's so dangerous, why isn't it internally safeguarded from inadvertent logins by casual users?! What damage or harm are we talking about, and why weren't personal-use customers given a big warning about this apparent "booby trap" in Mavericks?! Saying NEVER DO THAT is like closing the barn door after the horse has already bolted, and it explains nothing to the casual user.
We can't just do a clean re-install every time something in Mavericks hiccups?! Based on my recent experience, and on what I'm seeing in this thread, I would have had to re-installed it a half dozen times in the past 2 months alone!! That's nonsensical. There's got to be a better way of fixing a newly installed Mavericks OS than doing a re-install over and over again. Why don't the Mac diagnostic and troubleshooting tools work in Mavericks' case, as they have done for me on many occasions on earlier OS versions?! What is it about Mavericks that makes it different this time?! Could it possibly have something to do with integration of Mavericks and iCloud; and, if so, what specific cautions should the casual user observe to make sure they don't jeopardize the integrity of Mavericks by doing something similar to logging in from the root account?!
Many customers need to be brought in out of the dark! Is there an Apple Mavericks expert out there who can advise the customer community on specifically how to apply the existing repair tools to solve specific Mavericks teething problems, without having to revert to multiple OS re-installs? -
Fatal NI connect error 12547/12170
Hi,
I am stakk with connection problem on customer Oracle server. Oracle database is installed on Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Standard. Version of Oracle DB is 11.2.0.4 Standard One Edition.
Oracle database works fine on server. I had no problems/errors while installing (as admin). My user is memer of Local Admin Group. I am also able to connect to it with sqlplus (sqlplus username/password@tns_alias) and SQL Developer.
Content of tnsnames, listener og sqlnet files are following:

Tnx a lot,
adiThe error could be due to a port change/reconnect/redirect that fails.
The problem: Listener.exe is a separate physical process image in the kernel as the Oracle.exe process. The Listener needs to start an Oracle dedicated server process (created by the Listener as a remote thread in the oracle.exe process). Then it needs to pass the socket handle (created when the Listener accepted the tcp connection of the client) to this thread in another physical process - in order for that thread to continue tcp comms with the client.
This is not by default supported in Windows as I understand (always wrote a single threaded exe myself with the main thread acting as listener and child threads as dealing with client sessions, when developing Win32 tcp servers).
On Unix/Linux it is fairly common to pass the socket handle as stdin and stdout to a forked child process (a separate physical process).
If the socket handle cannot be passed from the listener.exe to oracle.exe, then the oracle.exe thread could open a private port as tcp listening end-point and inform, via the Listener, the client to reconnect to that tcp port (i.e. SQL*Net on client gets a redirect).
You will need to determine whether this is happening - as it would explain the initial successful tcp connect from client to Listener, followed by the tcp connection failing to the Oracle dedicated server process.
Not sure how one checks on Windows - have last done Oracle on Windows back with Oracle 7.1. But I think there are support notes on this.
I would use netstat myself on Linux/Unix - and list the ports used by client and server for the connection, and determine if a private/dynamic port was used to continue the client-server tcp communication as a renegotiated tcp session. netstat is also available on Windows and can be used in a similar fashion too. -
Hi All,
Ours is a working BPC system. Today we are simply not able to connect to BPC excel or admin. When we checked the back end by logging into the server machine and running the server diagnostics, found that 'SAP Connection' is not successful. This is same message we are getting when logged on to the server machine 'ABAP server connection error". Something went wrong. Any idea to fix this particular issue without having to reinstall the BPC server program.
Have tried the below:
Checked the locks for all system communications users such as BPC_SYSADMIN, BPC_ADMIN, and BPC_USER and no locks ensured.
Any help to resolve this issue would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
SantoshHi All,
Yeah the issue is resolved after we had reset the domain id that we linked to different communication purposes between ABAP and .NET systems using UJA3_WRITE_SYSUSERS program. In our case, the problem occured as we have started using the IDs that are set purely for communication between .NET and ABAP systems in the above program for accessing BPC and developing BPC objects. This apparently has caused some disruption and ABAP server connection failed.
In other words, BPC_ADMIN, BPC_SYSADMIN and BPC_USER which were created in domain as mentioned in the installation guide should not be used to access BPC front end to develop BPC related objects. I hope I understood correctly here.

The Informatica error you are getting is defined as:
PCSF_46009 Invalid type <object type> encountered. Failed to create an object instance.
Same as PCSF_46002.
and that error is:
PCSF_46002 Failed to communicate with the server at <server address>.
Cause:The request exceeded the timeout period due to an invalid connection or domain not running.
Is the repository service up and running?
So DAC is unable to connect to the informatica server. I would check you connection data in particular the hostname. Have you specified this as a fully qualified host? Can you ping this from the where you are running the DAC client from? Can you ping it from where the DAC server is installed?
Another thing to check is the server port - default is 6001. Can you access the Informatica Admin Console on that port? (http://server_name:6001/adminconsole) -
I am using the Migration Assistant for MS Access (version 8.1.5)
to migrate a database from Access 97 to Oracle 8i. At the
Provide Oracle Connection Information Page of the Assistant, I
get a Specifying Net8 Connection Error.
So my question is what should I be putting in the Net8
Connection box to make this work?
Thanks for your help.
Cynthia Savage
nullCynthia,
Here is an email giving example configuration files with
some description of them (names changed from customer names):
Mr. Blue
Here are example configuration files for
Database SID V716 (alias name V716)
Machine ierm5
.ie ie is the domain name
protocol sqlnet v2 tcp protocol adapter
ORACLE_HOME /home3/ora716
listener tcp port number 2022
(community name tcp_com)
[I created these files with the 716 version of netman, oracle has
newer tools
available]
files:
./tcp_com_ie [this directory is for the clients]
./tcp_com_ie/tnsnames.ora
./tcp_com_ie/sqlnet.ora
./ierm5_ie [this directory is for the server]
./ierm5_ie/listener.ora
./ierm5_ie/tnsnames.ora
./ierm5_ie/sqlnet.ora
Because of the different SID ,alias , machine name and oracle
home these files
will not work on your machine, on this machine;
I copy the client files to another machine, and set the TNS_ADMIN
environment
variable on both machines,
make sure oracle, lsnrctl , tnslsnr and the client side
executeable
(eg sqlplus) are linked with sqlnet v2 tcp protocol adapter.
<startup server database>
start up server listener
lsnrctl start
when this is up and listening
sqlplus scott/tiger@V716 on the client machine should connect.
If you have any questions please contact me,
Mr. Black

Mr. Blue,
It is hard for me to make any inroads on the problem with the
information
in the mail, but the problem is likely to be a configuration
one.
There are also configuration utilities but they may not do quite
what you want.
Short list of things that could be wrong:
Host names incorrect
Listener port numbers confused
database names incorrect.
Database not up
Listener not up
sqlnet tcp v2 not installed
executables (eg oracle sqlplus lsnrctl tnslsnr)
not relinked with sqlnetv2 and sqlnet tcp v2
(use adapters command ie adapters <executable name>)
domain name in sqlnet.ora confused with internet domain name
different tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora being used due
to different ORACLE_HOME ...
note SID and SERVICE_NAME seem to be the same thing.
Regards,
Mr. Black
In your case what I can suggest is:
(SERVICE_NAME = trial.ftidc2.dc.ftinet.com)use
(SERVICE_NAME = trial)
TRIAL.DC.FTI-NET.COM =
(DESCRIPTION =use this only if DC.FTI-NET.COM is referenced in your sqlnet.ora
file otherwise use what is used there:
NAMES.DEFAULT_DOMAIN = USE_THIS
NAME.DEFAULT_ZONE = USE_THIS
then use
TRIAL.USE_THIS =
(DESCRIPTION =
your connection should be
sqlplus username/password@TRIAL
or TRIAL in the connection box
[you will probably get better error feedback from sqlplus]
Hope that helps,
Turloch,

MAIL USING PL/SQL PROCEDURE TCP CONNECTION ERROR
I was trying to send an e-mail using the demo-mail helper package which uses UTL_SMTP package and on execution, it gives the following TCP Connection error. Is it some something to do with mail configuration?
This is the sample code I was trying to run.
demo_mail.mail( sender => 'Me <[email protected]>',
recipients => 'Someone <[email protected]>, ' ||
'"Another one" <[email protected]>',
subject => 'Test', message => 'Hi! This is a test.');
And this is the error I am getting.
