J2EE manual installation package ???

Hi,
I' wonder why Sun didn't make a manual installation package of their
java products instead of using the installer.
They used to use this way of installaing in the beginning.
It made things clean and configurable.
Where can I get a manual installtion of the latest J2EE ??? (I dont want to use the installer , copye the directory and then desintall it to have a sort of ma nual install package :)
Thanks

What exactly does the installer not allow you to do? You can specify the directory where the server is installed at setup time.

If your setup uses HTTP Server and mod_plsql use following url to access the Administration Services:

  • Unable to install itunes 10.5 after update issue. "windows installer package error"

So when the update for itunes happened, it wiped my ipod, and then my ipod would not work with itunes. So I uninstalled itunes and tried to reinstall it and it gives me that error message. "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." I have tried all the fixes from deleting everything to running command prompts. I think i tried everything.
Method 1: Right click on the setup file and, from the drop down menu, select 'run as administrator'
Method 2: Open command prompt in elevated mode and, then unregistered and re-register Windows Installer.
    1. In the Start search box and then type 'cmd', when the command application appears at the top of the start window, right click on it and, from the drop down menu, select 'run as administrator' and type each of these commands in the command prompt and press Enter
       • msiexec /unregister
       • msiexec /regserver
msiexec.exe belongs to the Windows Installer Component and is used to install new programs that use Windows Installer package files (MSI)

    3.       Open the Users folder.
    4.       Double-click the folder titled with your username.

    Method 5: Removing iTunes
Note: iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes.
    1.       Quit iTunes.

    5.       When asked if you would like to remove iTunes, click Yes.
    6.       After the uninstallation is complete, do not restart your computer if you are prompted to.
    7.       If other program entries were listed for iTunes in Programs and Features remove those as well.
    8.       In Programs and Features, also remove any iPod Updater applications that are listed in the same fashion as you removed iTunes.
Method 6: You may also try downloading the Windows Installer Cleanup utility and run that to remove the leftover ITunes installer files that may be causing issues with your current installation.

I have tried other things but i cant remember exactly there were.
When the install process for itunes is running it changes with the error message shows up during install.
    Thanks.

I should have posted this earlier, but anyway. I restored my laptop to factory version after backing up any useful data, and the first thing I the laptop was restored was connect to the internet, download and install the latest version of iTunes. And Bingo! It worked.

    1. Stand alone upgrade to the latest Quicktime version
    2. Go to control panel and "change" then select repair to the following applications in the order specified by the post on Oct 27. (Notice I skipped Quicktime because it had been upgrade manually, and Bonjour did not have a "repair" option)
iTunes; Apple Software Update: Mobile Device Support; Apple Applications Support
Some of these applications may not appear if they do not apply to your configuration (no iPhone, or no iPad, or other apple devices).
Once all updated, I did not need to restart nor launch any applications, I simply went straight into the 10.5 upgrade, and where it normally got stuck, this time the installation continued for a while longer until it completed successfully.

I ran into a similar problem, so will share what worked for me.
I didn't bother with safe mode. Just went to control panel, selected add/remove programs, and deleted itunes and Quicktime.
After deletion, I noticed the Quicktime player icon was still on my desktop, so I explored over to the program files folder and found the Quicktime folder still there with a ton of files in it. Upon attempting to manually delete this folder, I got the same message as you.
I rebooted the computer. Then I found the icon for quicktime in my taskbar at the bottom right of my screen, right clicked on it, and clicked on "Exit". That got rid of Quicktime from my task bar. Then used explorer again to get to the Quicktime folder in my program files directory, right clicked on Quicktime, clicked Delete, and it worked. Then I rebooted.
Upon logging back in, I installed Quicktime only. 2nd choice on this page. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    Then I rebooted.
Upon logging back in, I installed itunes only. See this page...
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    Rebooted.
Upon logging back in, both programs worked.
    Good luck -CC

The following installer packages are corrupt:
    J2SE SDK
    J2EE SDK
    NetBeans 3.6, 4.0
    Documentation packages
    WSDP 1.5

I tried downloading multiple times, with Firewall on and off, with GetRight and with SUN DOWNLOAD MANAGER but results are the same:

Hi I got my brand new BB 9900. It´s my first BB so I wanted to synchronise it with my Lotus Notes Calender. Downloaded the Desktop Manager and tried to install it. But it won´t work always terminates with the message that he could not validate installation packages. I read something about installing the missing certificates manually. I tried but it won´t work. Why is RIM not able to provide software which you can download and it works. It always did with my Nokia, IPhone and others.
Sry but after owning a BB 2 days I´m really disappointed.
    Im using:
    Win XP Sp3
    User ist Administrator
    Downloaded:

Today downloaded same software package from Blackbarry.com (US Site) Installation worked out fine....everything ok....

  • Problem with Windows Installer package.  A required program couldn't be run

    Hello -
I have a problem re-installing iTunes on my Windows Vista computer.
This is my exact message - note NO Error Codes included:
There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
Other similar problems to this that I've seen from Google searches have error codes included or different wording. This is exactly what I see.
Leading up to this, my printer had unexpectedly uninstalled itself (card readers were Drive H) and my external hard drive (which used to be Drive G) and the printer's card reader swapped drive letters all by themselves so now the printer/card reader is Drive G and the External hard drive is Drive H.
then I found that iTunes and QuickTime had also uninstalled themselves and I was getting BlueScreen of Death crashes.
I had to manually delete as many iTunes and QuickTime folders, shortcuts, etc that I could find since I couldn't do a proper Uninstall.
Now the computer is absolutely perfect (no more BlueScreen crashes) except I cannot reinstall iTunes and QuickTime - I get the message above.
    Can anyone please help me?
    Thank you!
