Hi Matt,
This problem we are facing with our production system. You are right I searched some notes but was not able to resolve the issue.
I tried to stop database service & SAP services but it doesnot work in my case.Once J2EE is stopped there is no process entry in J2EE process table.
If I will reboot system at OS level & then J2EE engine will also start.this problem we are facing twice in a week.
Anyway i will look into the notes mentioned by you.in the meanwhile it would be helpful to get the advice from expert who faced this issue.
Our J2EE pach level is on SP6.

Santosh

  • Adding additional j2ee node

    Hello,
we are running BI 7 - abap+java stacks with 16 GB ram (recently added)
i would like to know what is the thumb rule for adding additional j2ee node?
when is it neccassary to add additional j2ee node?
    Regards,
    Moshe

    Hi,
The JLaunch starts a Java program. It loads the JVM into its own address space and then represents the required cluster element. The program can receive notification from the JControl process via named pipes to stop the cluster element, and terminates, if the JControl stops running (fork emulation under Windows).
So Jlaunch consuming high CPU time means that server, dispatcher or bootstrap process consume it. If there are not enough system or application threads avaliable means that the engine must buffering requests for web application or system processes. Things to check in this case are:
SAP NOTE 1016241 - J2EE Engine hangs because of unsufficient system threads
SAP note: 716604  and upgrade JDK.
SAP note: 723909 -> set correct VM parameters
and if issue persists, then you will need to analyse the application causing teh leak...
    SAP note: 1259465: Memory analyser.

  • Introscope Agent Settings does not show J2EE Nodes

    Hi all,
we are using Solultion Manager Diagnostics for 4 systems and everything is all right. We no installed a PI 7.10 system (for migration from PI 7.00) on the same server as the PI 7.00 system is. Agents are running and configuration is almost done, just the last step is missing or not working.
Now I want to configure SMD as well for the PI 7.10 system but I can see the J2EE Nodes on the SMD: Diagnostics Setup -> Managed Systems -> Introscope Agent
I am not sure how we did it the last times, because everything run smooth. One thing I remember, we could not see the second Java Server node of the PI 7.00 system in here as well.
Any Ideas how to do this?
    BR Markus

    Hi Jan,
Could you please tell me how you reloaded the solution in SMD,i mean could you tell me the steps to reload the  solution in SMD.

  • SDL Link Out of Service - Node down

We keep seeing these RTMT alerts and then receive SDL Link out service or server node down. I have been working with TAC but they are not able to pin point if its a CUCM issue or network issues. I have the network team check the CPU usage during this time and nothing major happening same thing on the CUCM side.
At Tue Oct 28 14:56:48 PDT 2014 on node  the following SyslogSeverityMatchFound events generated:

Has anyone experienced this issue? We recently upgraded to 9.x.

We are experiencing the exact same thing.  There doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary or in the logs, but these errors randomly kick off as far as we can tell for no reason.
I opened a TAC case and they related it to CPU load on our Publisher, I bumped it as recommended and the error cleared for a few days, but just came back today.
Anyone have any insight?  As I said, doesn't seem to be service impacting, so is it just another 'Cisco Feature'?

    Hello Kranthi,
I would suggest you to cross check the steps you have performed to register sapccmsr agent with the following help links and update us.

  • If UCCX first node down, what features are still available?

    Hi all,
I have installed the UCCX 8.5 first node and second node,
and configured to link them up togehter (LAN)
    - Created some application for IVR
    - Created some resource and CSQ
    all working fine
Then... I want to try the HA.
I tried to unplug the first node UCCX ethernet cable (just make it disconnect)
    The IVR is still working,
But ... the Agent and Supervisor seems cannot login to the UCCX via CAD/CSD
Do I miss-configure any setting or is that the only feature after the first node down?
    Thanks
    Sam

You need to re-run the CAD Configuration Tool after completing the HA setup. Also you may need to run the PostInstall.exe tool from the CAD install directory on a PC and manually add the HA node IP address.

I have a two node rac setup. One Node went down because of hardware issues. And it seems that I cannot connect from client (jdbc) when SCAN gives particular ip.
I receive : ORA-12514, TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor. If DNS returns the correct ip - everything works fine.
    connection string:
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION= (LOAD_BALANCE=on) (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=testracscan.internal.int)(PORT=1521)) (CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=testdb.internal.int)))

  • 10g RAC Node down Enterprise Manager

    Hello
We have a 2 node Oracle 10g RAC Rel2 Linux setup. Enterprise Manager was first stalled on Node1 and we access it using http://node1:5500/em.
This node has a hardware failure and is out of commision at the moment. When I try to connect to http://node2.5500/em it does not work.
I see the dbconsole process is running onthe node2.
How can I use the Enterprise Manager if the node1 is down?
    Thanks

Can you try deconfig and config again on node 2?
    emctl stop dbconsol
    emca -deconfig dbcontrol
    emca -config dbcontrolSalman

  • LMS 4.2 email notifications for node down

I need help configuring an email alert so that when a node (switch, router, etc) is unreachable, i will recieve an email notification.  So far i have tried creating an event set then notification group and then email subscription.  This does not seem to be exactly what i am looking for.  I think this could create alerts for any interface that is unreachable.
    thanks!

LMS does not works this way unfortunately, and is not able to generate alert/notification for node/device down.
Fault Management manages doesn't manages device as a whole, instead it manages device on aspects of Environment, System and Interface groups.
It can mostly analyse a card down when many of the similar ports go down in one, but generally it will will manage device explicitly for above categories, which is further subdivided into :
Environment : Power Suppoly, Fan and Temp. Sensor
    System : Processor and Memory
InterfaceStatus: Port, Interface, IP and Card
The kind of Events if can generate are following and also mentions the situation in which it will be generated:

  • Datasource Connection Pooling - Per environment or per J2EE node?

    Hi all,
I have a question about the JDBC service regarding the connection pooling.
For external datasources, we have specified a max. pool size of 25.
Now, is this value per J2EE server node per Dialog Instance, or is this a global setting?
In other words, say we have 5 dialog instances each with 4 server nodes, do we have pools with a total size of 200 maximum connections, or just 25?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Master node down

    Dear DBAs,
for a maintenance reason we had to shutdown the 3 cluster servers (Windows 2003-64bit).
after starting up the master node (the others still down) the windows stuck on the "Applying profile", however if we disconnect this server from the network the server starts.
we noticed that after reconnecting the server to the network, it takes long time to discover the storage disks.
we are planning to move to another master node.
could you please send me a link with the step-by-step on how to move to a new master node.
    the database is Oracle 10g v. 10.2.0.4.0
    OS: windows 2003-64 bit
your quick reply is highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Elie

we noticed that after reconnecting the server to the network, it takes long time to discover the storage disks.I am not sure that doing so would decrease the time. You need to check with your n/w guys and storage guys that why its taking time since the same will happen with the new node as well.
we are planning to move to another master node. You need to take a backup of this db and then move it to the new host . Once done, you would need to add nodes to that node . But as said above, find the reason first why you are experiencing slow connectivity?

  • Communicate with diffrent j2ee nodes

    Hi there
We've got a singleton on a j2ee which runs on about 3 nodes.
Is there any possibility to connect to the other nodes for example invalidating the singleton in all nodes?
Are there some framework-class available on which one we can connect through to get firstly the information how many nodes are available and then go in each one and invalidate the singleton?
(like you can do it in the NWA of the CE Server - "stop on all instances")
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Marco

    Hi Benny
I think this isn't realy my problem.
The JNDI is working on each node yes? Or just on the central-node?
I found some information in this document: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/0eb4a790-0201-0010-86b7-c1b26be749d6
But nowhere is written, if the jndi service is only running on the central instance?!
And when i'm accessing the singleton over the jndi (in case there is just one jndi on the central-node) do i've got some problems because of the performance - whilce accessing objects in other nodes and containers?
Thanks in advance for your answer

  • RAC node down

    Hi All,
    Oracle 10.2.0
    Windows server 2003
My doubt is, In the Oracle RAC server if the there are some connections to the node1 and node2 through some applications.
If node1 is down, Will the existing connections to the node1 will be redirected to the node2 ?
    Please Advice..
    TIA,

If you did configure transparent application failover (TAF) in the tnsnames.ora of the clients, yes.
You can read about TAF in the Net Administrators Manaul at http://tahiti.oracle.com

  • SCAN IP and all 2 VIP listner is unavailable for 1+ min when one node down

I have two redhat Linux nodes running the Oracle 11.2.0.3
Everything is OK except, when I powerdow one node (cold or soft reset). the VIP and SCAN lisnter stop working for 1+ minutes. (Using Navicat connection check, all connections are unavailabl for a while)
Is it normal? The problem is the application DB connection timeout is about 20 seconds.

    Hi,
even though this sounds quite long (especially for a hard kill of the node, not a reboot), it does not matter if you configured your application correctly:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/products/clustering/overview/awm11gr2-130711.pdf
Since the application will move to the VIP/SCAN IP running on the second node after 3 sec (connection outbound timeout).
However failover of VIP and SCAN should be in seconds not minutes...
And it should not have an effect on all connections - just the ones going to that VIP/SCAN on that node.
    Regards
    Sebastian
