J2EE "Security Provider" not updating
Hello All,
I am currently running XI 3.0 with SP14. I can not get the J2EE engine to update with the users on the ABAP side. Here is what I have run tried:
1. The "Assign Applications Roles to user groups" button says it is successful but no users are added and no roles assigned.
2. I verified in the "UME Provider" that it is pointing to "dataSourceConfiguration_r3_roles_db.xml"
3. SLDCHECK is successful.
4. "http://server:50000/CPACache/refresh?mode=full" returns succesfull.
5. I have started and stopped the system several times.
6. I have ran all check programs with success (AKA SPROX_CHECK_IFR_ADDRESS, and so on...)
7. the XISUPER user can log into the Int. Builder and Int. Directory.
Ok so I could create the users in the ABAP and the J2ee side but I do not watn to manage both places. Is there anything else I can check??
Please Help i am at a stand still.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Paul
Thanks you very much for teh quick responce Moorthy. I am afraid that I have went over much of this while trying to resolve the issue. I am currently not having a problem with the SLD:
/people/sunita.gadapu2/blog/2005/03/04/resolving-sld-authentication-problem
"Solution: This can be solved by manual assignment of security roles to the user groups. Open Visual Admin and go to Server->Services->SLD Data Supplier and go to tab HTTP Settings. Then click on this"
I have done this and this is the part that is broken. After doing this I go the the "Security Provider" in the Visual Admin and I do not see any of the users that I have created on the ABAP side... When I do this in my working DEV system I see all the ABAP users and the roles/groups are assigned to them.
I created a user in the ABAP side but he does not show up in the Security Provider part of the J2EE. I am sure it is something very small that I have to find but I am running out of places to look.
Thanks again Moorthy, do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Paul

Just installed CS6 and trying to update, Windows 8.1 tried disabling security still not updating. Version 13.0 any suggestions ? Thank you
Once in awhile, they do have bug fixes for CS6. The only thing I can think of that was an upgrade for CS6 was a newer version of camera raw. For now they are allowing CS6 to have the latest version of camera raw, but when they are done with supporting CS6, I imagine that will be the last of the upgrades. I don't know of any dates, but I heard it wasn't for a long time if at all. So I guess we will all have to wait and see.
As for getting updates, I think you will like the manager. It makes it much easier. Frankly I didn't know the manager worked on the perpetual license. I knew it worked on the subscription. So it is good to know that it works for you as well. -
J2EE Security Provider Service in NWA on 7.10?
Hi,
In versions up to 7.0, there was a J2EE Security Provider Service which could be configured in Visual Administrator to control fine-grained security between deployed components on the system. I cannot find anything similar in NetWeaver Administrator in 7.1. Has this become obsolete or am I overlooking something?
Thanks,
ThorstenHi,
NWA -> Configuration Management -> security -> authentication
here you can find the required policy configurations

Shared Services Security information not updating in Essbase
Hi,
I have created few users in Shared Services and performed the sync operation. Created users are not reflecting in Essbase server. why?
Also tried by externalizing the users... performed sync from shared services and refreshed the shared security from EAS console...then also... user information not updating in Essbase?
What could be the reason?Have you provided Essbase application access rights to those users in shared services?
If not, then try after providing Essbase access to users. This might be the reason for your issue.

Office365 Exchange Security Group not updating in Sharepoint Online
We have created a new Office365 Exchange Security Group that contains several other Exchange Security Groups. This group will not show up in either the SharePoint Web admin or SharePoint Designer views.
How can I force SharePoint to re-synchronize the Office365 Tenant users/groups?Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that Office365 Exchange Security Group does not updating in Sharepoint Online.
How long did you wait after creating the Group to see if they show up in SharePoint Online? The back-end replication can take some time, even days from my experience.
Here is a similar thread for your reference:

Symptoms
When trying to access BPMA via the Workspace, Active Directory users get the following error:An error was encountered by the CAS Security Provider: Not SpecifiedError Code: SVR_ERR_SESSION_MGR_CAS_SECURITY_ERROR.
Cause
This behaviour is described in unpublished bug 9921096
When MSAD is configured as an external directory there is an option to enable or disable support for external groups. If Support Groups is disabled this triggers a code bug which leads to the observed behaviour on navigating to the Dimension Library.
Solution
As a workaround you can enable Support Groups.
If you want to be able to disable Support Groups you must apply patch 9921096.

I'm trying to use the JCE with JWS1.0.2. All I want to do is generate a KeyPair and I can NOT use a signed application. The code is:
public static KeyPair genDHKeyPair() throws Exception {
// properties...
DHParameterSpec dhSkipParamSpec;
dhSkipParamSpec = new DHParameterSpec(skip1024Modulus, skip1024Base);
KeyPairGenerator keyPairGenerator = KeyPairGenerator.getInstance("DH");
keyPairGenerator.initialize(dhSkipParamSpec);
KeyPair keyPair = keyPairGenerator.generateKeyPair();
return keyPair;
I'm using JDK1.4. This code works fine outside of JWS.
If I call this code I get an exception that states I need the stated RuntimePermission. IMHO this is a bug because I should be able to make use of simple standard extension methods like this. Is getting an instance of a KeyPairGenerator and generating a key pair a security risk?
The fix for this should be a simple addition to the security policy for JWS which gives SUN javax.crypto code access to the appropriate RuntimePermission.
Can anyone think of a reason why NOT to do this?
Thank you.
BTW, here's the Exception you would get if you tried this:

Security Provider(JAAS chaine module)logging with SAP J2EE Agent Policy 2.2
Hello,
I have installed and configured a SAP J2EE Policy Agent 2.2 on a SAP J2EE Application Server 7.0 and installed an opensso 8.0.
I have configured and deployed a jsp application with the descriptor containing the agent filter on the SAP J2EE.
I have configured the security provider (based on JAAS) as follows:
EvaluateTicketModule
AmSAPWASLoginModule
CreateTicketLoginModule
I have then increased the severity check of logging on the SAP J2EE Application Server for:
com.sap.security.server.jaas
com.sap.engine.services.security
But since the installation of the agent, I am not able to see the logs of the different logon modules and be sure that the CreateLoginModule has been done.
I need to check that after the success of the agent login module, it goes through the CreateTicketLoginModule, how can I check that.
Thanks,
Tanguy Mezzano

ERRORS ESS - NWDI Import to production - not updated in J2EE System Info?
Hi all,
We have a GoLive planned for ESS in five days and are encountering many troubles during deployment of the SAP_ESS component on our Production Environment.
We have modified some components in ESS and have used NWDI CMS to transport them through the landscape (DEV-QAS-PRD). We have successfully imported the latest version of the SAP_ESS component into production, but the System Info of the J2EE Engine still displays the old version for the SAP_ESS component and we are experiencing lots of errors when running ESS on production.
How can NWDI CMS say the import in production is successful, but the System Info of J2EE is not updated?
Please advice! Any help would be highly appreciated and ofcourse rewarded with points.
Best regards,
JanThis is the trace when running the ESS apps in the Portal.

My i pad is not responding. I have a security copy in my iTunes. But my iTunes is not updated. Will i lose my Security copy?
I have an iPad 1 as well that I updated when the iOS was first released a few weeks ago and I think that the new update really sparked my iPad into "new life" again. It's so hard to tell what will happen when you update - ideally the performance of the device should improve - and not fall off.
Have you tried closing any/all open/running apps in the recents tray? Close them all and restart - see what happens.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -
Java has updated again today,
i use a java plug in to run my virtual software to access my work from home,
today i have an error message saying that security will not allow access to my website
i use to log in to work from, this is a JREdetection error,
my system runs off java and citrix, i tried chrome,firefox and safari - same issue, if my system cannot detect java it wont run, it runs on plug ins.
How to i change my sec settings to allow access to this website, as i can only see that i can add apps not web addresses?If you get an error that says can't backup, try moving the existing backup file to a safe location and thry again. again. You can find the location of the backup file here:
