J2me vs j2ee

which one of these technology is emerging which has better job security and which one has better future

Both.
They are different technologies aimed at different markets. A better way
of phrasing the question might be:
Which industry will pay me most?. Writing c*ap for servers or writing
c*ap for mobile phones.
Depends on the number of coders around and the number of projects that
need doing.

Can anyone say is it possible to switch from j2me to
j2ee later in the carreer????he he he...
Let me tell you something buddy... the way the mobiles are becoming today, it is not far that the distinction between j2ee and j2me will be minimized, if u are talking about enterprise business apps made for mobiles. You can not probably build an enterprise app for mobile without the j2ee counterpart of the j2me app. And as I told u, as the world is heading today, people needs all info at his/her hand, so they will need it in their mobile only and how anything other than an ME app can serve their purpose that too with a rich GUI !!!
SUN once told, Net is the computer !! I'm waiting for the day when somebody will say MOBILE IS THE COMPUTER !!!

  • J2ME and J2EE cross platform

    Hi everyone,
Currently I'm developing a three tier architecture system. The presentation logic will be developed using J2ME while the business logic will be developed using J2EE. There are a lot of projects on this area. However, the projects are on web centric application. My system is to develop non web centric application. Therefore, I have some questions that need help from expert.
    1. Is it possible to use J2EE to retrieve data from database and send the result to mobile phone? [NOTE: This is not an web application].
    2. Should I use EJB to develop the application?
Thanks for your help and have a nice day.
    With regards,
    Teck Guan.

    1. Is it possible to use J2EE to retrieve data from databaseYes, that's about 98% of what J2EE systems are for.
and send the result to mobile phone? If the mobile phone can talk HTTP to the J2EE server, yes.
    2. Should I use EJB to develop the application? If you're using J2EE you don't have much choice about that.
But your question has nothing whatsoever to do with RMI.

  • Encryption between j2me and j2ee

I need to exchange some cofidential data between j2me client and servelt using http connection . So i need to encrypt the data before i send from j2me and the data should be decrypted at the server side so obviously i should also pass the key. I have searched on the net for a common algorthim that wil suit my requirements but i din get any useful solution. Please any one help me in finding out a algorithm tat meets my requirements.
    I appreciate all the replies

i am getting the impression you are new to data security...
if this is indeed the case, and you are in any kind of hurry, i strongly advise you to use ssl if at all possible.
if you can not or will not use ssl then you will need to look into some other options.
there are multiple algorithms to choose from for secure key exchange, diffie-hellman prob being the most popular.
however, you will need to supplement the cldc api in order to implement.
some key words to search on:
    diffie-hellman
    rsa
    aes
    tripple des

    Hello to everyone,
    I want to know that,
Without using a wap gateway how j2me works?
According to me, Gateway is used to connect two different networks
Lets say I am calling a jsp page from MIDlet.
mobile devices belong to wireless network(j2me),
    jsp(j2ee) is on internet.
    How do these communicate ?

    Hi all,
Sorry for the interruption.I am also facing the same problem.I am using DEJDecompiler. But my application is not J2ME But J2EE.( a Swing application).I opened .class file and made some changes but I dont know how to convert into a .class file again.
I tried saving .jad file to .java file. Then it is showing lot of errors in Eclipse Platform.I doubt if there are any errors in the .class file already, then how could the program would run.I put all the programs in the respective platforms only and then testing. It fails.
    (2) one more question,is if I do not need to disturb any existing coding and need to create a seperate java file which will do my customisation, then what should I do.I could not get any interfaces in the program.
Please help me as the matter is most urgent.

  • Just some ideas would be nice

    Hi,
Looking around for some innovative ideas for a project(FYP), I want to base my FYP on J2EE and/or J2ME, something like a front-end implementation(either web-based/mobile device) talking to back-end(mySQL/server integrated) through JSP. Mainly I want to play with JSP,Servlet,EJB,JDBC. I have a basic understanding of this technologies so it will be good to go in deep down.
However, I am lacking some ideas, as to which route to take, whether to explore J2ME with J2EE at this point or whether web-based systems are what i should be developing compared to mobile device systems. basically where is the demand now a days in the industry?.
It looks like most of the innovative/useful systems have been thought about/developed, (flight booking, shopping carts, online banking systems etc). Are there any web or mobile device based purposeful/useful system need researching/developing? something that could help the community. any ideas are very welcome.
    I would appreciate any help.
    thanks

I think you have to pay more than 10 Duke Dollars for a lucrative idea. give me a lucrative idea, priceless!
One that will teach Senator Orrin Hatch that
destroying a few million computers for the sake of the
entertainment industry is a bad idea.its the $18,000 which he earned in songwriting royalties which is talking and as long as he gets his CDs available on his website, he doesnt care about others. http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,12271,980890,00.html
I think Randy Saaf of MediaDefender tried educating him about this, so there is no need to come up with a whole system to teach such a person.
However, i do not support copyright abuses. not fair.
    anymore ideas?
You could kill two buzzwords with one stone, and develop a mobile->device app with J2ME that uses web services to communicate with a >server. Maybe it could be for buying movie tickets or something. 2-in-1, thought about it, even an m-commerce system such as m-banking system, reading about it, the security issues involving a bank is a project on its own. what you think of the idea?
It looks like most of the innovative/useful systems have been thought about/developed...
Why does it have to be original? Why not just pick something that's already done and make one that's faster/better in some way?
That's what Microsoft always does :-) Considering this too.
Here's and idea, write this for the SEC's members and you'll make a fortune.
    http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=74&ncid=74&e=3&u=/cmp/20030619/tc_cmp/10700408thanks will read about it.
just to make things clear, I dont want a quick-get-rich scheme or a fortune yet, just a decent project where i can research & learn the technology.
thank you all for your time, more ideas are always welcome.

  • Web services and basic auth

    Hi,
I'm trying to set up a web service that should use basic authentication as security solution. I've used the admin console to define security policies and left the 'Check roles and Policies for' in 'Web applications and EJBs protected in DD' for my default realm.
The security policy is set on the application inherited by the EJB and web service module.
All is well when accessing the web services from a Java client but when I try to access them from a .Net client I get an '401: Unauthorized' response.
If I change the 'Check roles and Policies for' setting to 'All Web applications and EJBs' the .Net client works but the Java client doesn't work anymore (it can't access the WSDL-file that it needs).
I've tried to set up authorization settings in the web.xml for the web service module but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
I use the WebLogic 8.1SP5 Server.

    What is VB?
I know about J2ME, J2SE, J2EE, JMS, JNDI, JSP, JDBC, JAX-RPC, JAXP, JAXR, JAXM, JMX, JMI, JAF, JPDA and several other acronyms but I've never heard of VB.

  • J2EE or J2ME ?

    Hi everybody.
I came across the following: Wanting to build an J2EE webapplication (JSP and EJB) for the use on a PDA, I recently read something about J2ME for the first time .. Now I am wondering: Is my idea realizable with J2EE for a pocketPC ? Or do I need to switch to J2ME ?
As far as I understood, J2ME is only necessary, when developing straight in the PocketPC-platform, and not when dealing with webapplications which use PIE ?
I would be very pleased if someone can clear my confusion :-)
    thanks in advance.
    bye

    Hi,
I have a 3rd solution for you: use small customizable J2ME client for the device and have it send chunks of necessary data to J2EE server over TCP/IP ;)

  • J2EE with J2ME ... Please help

    Hello All,
I want to know if it is possible to make J2EE application communicate with J2ME application?
Actually I have developed a web application (J2EE application) which is needed to be run/accessed on a Tablet PC.
I am also supposed to provide Ink Enabled Control for some of the functionalities for this Web Application.
So, is this possible? If yes then can you please provide me some references for the same?
It would be a great help if you can share your thoughts on this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
