J2MEWTK for MacOSX

Does anybody know if there is a port to macOSX for the J2MEWTK?
Or is there anybody out there who knows how
to do a port ?
Kind regards

I indeed use Forte and I succeeded in installing the WTK in Forte.
I still can't run any demo or my own 'wireless' application.
First of all it should be possible to select/change emulators. This is grayed out in the drop down menu.
And second : when I try to run the software I get preverify errors. something like this :
preverify @/tmp/preverify32641.tmp/files.txt
preverify: parse error near ')' [1]
preverify: parse error near ')' [12]
preverify: permission denied [2]
etc
some 50 lines of error messages.
very frustrating I have to say.

Werner

Firefox tabs close when I simply click on a tab and windows become unresponsive after I launch a site. I am using the latest version for MacOSX but this happened a couple days ago with an older version of Firefox as well. Is this some kind of bug? How do I fix this bug? Have already tried a bunch of things like clearing/reinstalling etc. This does not help.

  • Trying to download 9i for MacOSX not working

I fill out the appropriate page and accept the licence agreement. I get to the page where the 9i download for MacOSX is, but then I'm instantly redirected back to the agreement page. There is no chance to even click on the link to download the database. What's going on with this?

    Hi,
Can you let us know what OS and browser you are using. Can you try an alternate browser and let us know if you experience the same behavior? With win2k and ie6 or ns4.79 it seems to work fine.
    Thanks,

  • 9i for MacOSX download?

Last week Apple and Oracle announced that Oracle 9i database would be available for MacOSX. I was wondering if someone might be able to elaborate on when a download may be available.

Well, I think you will find that Mac will be down on the list of release cycle for Oracle as it is not a major OS for the majority of potential customers out there. Oracle's main targets for initial release are: Sun Solaris, Linux and Windows with all other releases to follow.
I would expect Oracle to release a Mac version with the 9i Release 2 if they are truly going to support Mac. I haven't heard about Oracle supporting Mac lately, but if they do, it would be with Release 2 of 9i, I am guessing.
    Good luck.

    Sure can.
Do you have any experience of this becuse I'm like a fish out

I have someone who is going to send me the Maltese
    translation via
email. Will I be able to copy this text from the email, dump
    it into
Illustrator, highlite it and choose the Maltese font. That's

Hummm I'm looking into Unicode right now but have no idea how
    it works.
I also have to translate these headings into Arabic. I've
    experiemented
by copying some Arabic text from a news site, dumping it into
Illustrator, choosing one of the Arabic fonts which ship with
    the OS but
it looks nothing like that what was on the website lol.

  • NETBIOS updates for MacOSX Server

    Hi,
I would like to find out whether are there any update on NETBIOS for MacOSX Server? I would appreciate if anyone could help me.
    Thank you!
    Cheers,
    Stephanie

I recently upgraded my Late 2009 Mini Server running Snow Leopard I believe to Mavericks.
I didn't need all the server add-ons and was using it as a single unit so didn't need server networking, email, yadda, yadda, yadda.
The Mavericks install went fine BUT
The Mini was super slow, had numerous beachballs occassionally and was almost unusable.
I finally went thru the hardrives and cleaned it up a bunch, and upgraded Ram fro 2 (2) Gig Chips to 2 (4) Gigs for a total Ram Upgrade to 8 Gigs.
It helped greatly and the Mini is now a little snappier and I'm not seeing the "beachballs" much anymore, or only very briefly.
Just because Apple says you CAN update to Mavericks doesn't mean you SHOULD automatically. Do a lot of checking and double checking on what the total cost may be, including Mavericks Server and Extra Ram and then decide what other software updates you may need BEFORE taking that "free Offer" that is almost impossible to go back on, short of wiping your HD's and relaying everything back.

  • MRJ For MacOSX 10.4?

    Hello!
Does anyone know wether "mac runtime for Java (MRJ)" is available for MacOSX 10.4.6? When will it be available?
The latest version MRJ 2.2.6 doesn't work!
I want to use the Prog1Tools.IOTools for Java, but without MRJ it seems not to be possible!
    Thank You for hints!

    Hi Mr Hyde
I see this is your first posting - welcome.
I believe that MRJ was only needed for Classic OX. It doesn't appear to be available for Mac OS X, however a working version of Java is shipped with every Mac OS X computer. All the Java development tools you'll need can be downloaded for free from here:
    http://developer.apple.com/
You'll need to sign up for a free Apple Developer account, but once you've done that the downloads become available. You'll need the latest version of Java 1.5 and Xcode 2.2
The Prog1Tools.IOTools appear to be one of many user libraries for input which were created prior to Java 1.5 becoming available. All these are now obsolete and have been replaced by the new Scanner class introduced at Java 1.5. However, you can still download the source of IOTools from here and compile them yourself:
    http://www.dcs.warwick.ac.uk/~amoreno/jeliot/files/IOTools.java
Finally, if you have any more problems with writing Java programs then the Software Development 101 forum is probably the right place to get further technical support.
    Best wishes

  • AirPlay Mirroring for MacOSX

At this time it is possible to stream videos and music from MacOS itunes via AirPlay over AppleTV2 to a HD display.
Wht about the AirPlay Mirroring feature?
It will be very nice to mirror keynote presentation, numbers sheets, etc wireless from a MacBook to a HD display or beamer.
Is the AirPlay  Mirroring feature on the roadmap for MacOSX ?
    Best regards

So what i don't understand about the "not a file" comment is that macs have vnc installed native which allows basic "wireless" screen display on another mac.  Why not let the desktop be mirrore over to tv?
VNC (build in Mac solution) need a VNC Server (source) and a VNC Client (destination) to work.
If you connect (screen sharing) two Mac's or a Mac and a PC you will have as well a sever and a client running.
As soon as your TV enables you to install a VNC Client and let you start it, you have what you want.
Apple TV receive a constant multicast stream from the source (e.g. your Mac) to display e.g. a video. Also ATV buffers a part of the stream to unpack the compressed data, decode video / audio and deliver screen and sound synchronous.
That is a total different technic compared to a screen sharing.

  • HP LaserJet 1020 drivers for MacOSX Lion 10.7

    Hi,
I'm trying to add LaserJet 1020 to MacOSX 10.7 (Lion).
According to this page this printer is supported by Apple and its driver comes with OS. But when I'm adding the printer in the "Print & Scan" it says that the driver for this printer is NOT available from Apple.
Does anybody know how to use this printer on MacOSX?
    Thanks,
    Alexander
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

The insistence on HP's part that the 1020 was never supported on Mac is utter poppycock. The Laserjet 1020 was advertised and sold as being Mac compatible. I bought mine from an authorized Mac dealer, and still have the original box with the "Mac Compatible" sticker on it. I've been running the 1020 with my iMac G5 for 5+ years and never had any support problems until I bought an OS X Lion iMac this past week. The refusal to support this product is nothing more than a money grab to force users to buy new equipment, despite owning an otherwise fully functional printer.
Luckily, you can run the 1020 on Lion using the 1022 driver. Follow the instructions at the top of the following link, and read the extra step for Lion in comment #63. Use the 1.3 1022 printer driver, and you should have no trouble getting your printer to work.

  • Oracle 10g for MacOSX's memory limitation

Why is there a 1GB of SGA limit for Oracle 10g on MacOSX?

Its an oracle code limitation. They have it as a bug and commited to us that they'll remove it with 10.1.0.4 release . But haven't given us a date yet.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 for MacOSX

I am trying to get Datasources to show up in Dreamweaver CS3
on a MacOSX running Apache/MySQL/Coldfusion 8. The datasources are
setup in Coldfusion 8 and show up in the ODBC control panel in
MacOSX, but Dreaweaver does not see them and does not allow
application development. I have done this a million time in a
Windows environment and with many other versions or Dreamweaver and
    Coldfusion with out issue.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance.

I've been a Mac convert for about 2 years now. Right now, I'm
running DW CS3 on an Intel iMac and it runs beautifully. On my
Powerbook G4 (1.33 GHz PPC G4 and 2 GB of ram) the performance is
slightly lacking. One thing to be wary of with adobe products -
they can be memory hogs. Photoshop is especially notorious for
    this.
Also, the more you have installed on a Mac laptop, the slower
it will run. Mine used to take a few minutes to boot because of all
the programs I had installed, and nothing was starting up with the
machine. After a format and clean install it runs like new.
That is something for you to consider, if you have all the
necessary software to reinstall everything you want. I never turn
off any features in DW and I have only had a few buggy problems.
    Nothing major though.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus and I am unable to find drivers for MacOSX 10.4 Tiger

I bought the new Office Jet Pro 8500A plus and now I cannot install it to work with my old Imac 10.4.11???
    HP only supports 10.5 onwards???
    This is unacceptable.
Please advise how I can make this work.
    Thank you.
    Sincerely,
    JonPaul

    Hi bhappie,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I gather that you are unable to connect your Officejet 8500A plus printer to your wireless network.
This printer can be connected by an ethernet cable or connected to your wireless network but cannot support both simultaneously as referenced in the document The Printer Does Not Support Ethernet (Wired) and Wireless Network Connections at the Same Time.  To setup the wireless feature you will need to unplug the ethernet cable.
Your wireless printer can be easily connected to your wireless network from the front panel of your printer.  If you are unsure how to do this the instructions can be found in your User Guide on page 219 in the section titled “To set up a wireless communication using the Wireless Setup Wizard”.
Now that the printer has a wireless connection, any computer that uses the printer, will need to have the connection method updated.  The instructions on how to do this can also be found in your User Guide on page 221 in the section titled “Change the connection method”.  There is a sub-section dedicated to Windows operating systems and one dedicated to Mac operating systems.
