  • Looking for just the Win8 BC control panel and System Tray software. Possible to extract from BC 5?

    Installing the entire BC 5 software gave problems on my MacMini 2011/ WIn8 64bit installation. The Magic Mouse and Apple's BT keyboard would stutter. I was able to get everything working fine by just installing the blutooth drivers from the BC5 package, obtaining the HD3000 drivers directly from Intel, and left all other drivers as the 'native' Win8 drivers.
    What I woudl like to install as well, however, are the:
    Boot Camp control panel for Microsoft Windows
    Boot Camp System Task Notification item (System Tray)
    I did not see these tools/packages listed on the USB Flash Disk with the Boot Camp Support Software (v5.0.5033).
    Anyone any idea where I can find (or extract) this?

    I searched for a DVD player with a jog shuttle -- and you're right. They're all but impossible to find! I havent' found one made in the past 5 years!
    I don't know of any way you could accomplish the same thing with software either.
    Most DVD players have slow-motion and frame-by-frame features. (Even my cheap $40 Toshiba.) That may be the closest to it.

  • T61 screen and system tray flicker on and off during start up

    When I start up my T61, under XP Pro SP3:
    The screen dimms slightly during the welcome to windows message, and three seconds later returns to normal.
    Then, just before the system tray and battery life icons appear, the screen flickers off then on, and a black rectangle appears in the bottom right corner.
    The black rectangle dissapears and the system tray replaces it.
    Is this normal?
    If not, what is wrong with my Think Pad?
    After this seemingly odd behaviour, I get a message telling me that I have no wireless connection.
    Then, all is good and my thinkpad suffers no other performance issues.
    Please could somone give me details as to why my Think Pad boots up in this manner?

    I do think you mean thinkpad, Thinkcentre is the desktop.
    During your initial startup, press the blue thinkvantage button, which hopefully will take you into the Rescue and Recovery, from which select restore to factory setting.
    Alternatively, burn yourself a set of recovery media from Start -> Program -> Thinkvantage -> Create Recovery Media -> Recovery disks. And use that disk to restore your laptop to factory state. <- Even if you don't use this step, it is a good idea to burn a set of recvoery disks.

  • JPopup and System Tray icon

    Hi there,
    I have a problem with my appl. May ý ask you?
    I made a jpopup for using both menu in window and in system tray icon.
    I used
    trayIcon.addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter() {
            public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e) {
                if (e.isPopupTrigger()) {
                    jpopup.setLocation(e.getX(), e.getY());
                    jpopup.setInvoker(jpopup);
                    jpopup.setVisible(true);
            });showing jpopup on trayicon.
    But it is not closing itself. To close it, i have to push any menuitem on it.
    Normally popup must close itself if we click mouse on anywhere of screen. But mine is not closing? How can fix this?

    I red but couldnt find any solution.There is no solution. To get the behavior you desire you need to use trayicon.setPopupMenu(...) . But that method only takes a java.awt.PopupMenu , not a javax.swing.JPopupMenu . The code you posted is a workaround for using a JPopupMenu on a tray icon. Consequently, the workaround has a few limitations that you wont be able to fix.
    EDIT
    Well I came up with a workaround for the workaround. I was wondering what to call the new class when I thought "JTrayIcon" sounds ok. Curious, I googled for the name and eventually came across this [blog entry|http://weblogs.java.net/blog/alexfromsun/archive/2008/02/jtrayicon_updat.html] which references [this class|https://swinghelper.dev.java.net/source/browse/swinghelper/src/java/org/jdesktop/swinghelper/tray/JXTrayIcon.java?view=markup] called JXTrayIcon.
    Turns out this class uses the same solution I came up with. An zero-sized-focused dialog is used to detect when to close the popup menu. When the dialog looses focus (by clicking on the desktop for example), the java popup mechanism automatically closes the JPopupMenu. So instead of posting my solution (which is exactly the same) I'll simply reference you to JXTrayIcon and the blog.

  • Turn console app into hidden system tray thinger...

    yes, i'm sure this question is goin to be annoying, but if anyone could point me in the right direction in this..
    ive got a console app that i'd like to run in the system tray (not showing any MS DOS window in the task bar)
    any directions here would be greatly appreciated =D

    Do you want and actual Sys-Tray icon thingy? If so, there is a JNI method of doing it. Goto the Programming forum and search for JNI and System Tray, you may yet find it.
    If you just don't want the MS-DOS or Command window, then just use javaw and launch from a Batch, or shortcut, or JAR.

  • Disabling Right Click Menus for Network Magic's System Tray Icons for Standard and Guest Accounts

    OK, so I want to know how to disable the right click menus for Network Magic's system tray icons only for Vista's standard and Guest accounts?   I don't want other users signed in as a Standard account or guest account having the ability to disable the system tray icons for network magic.

    Hi, currently it's not possible to disable NM from being accessed by a Limited user account, but that is a good idea.
    My Cisco Network Magic Configuration:
    Router: D-Link WBR-2310 A1 FW:1.04, connected to Comcast High Speed Internet
    Desktop, iMac: NM is on the Windows Partition, using Boot camp to access Windows, Windows 7 Pro 32-bit RTM, Broadcom Wireless N Card, McAfee Personal Firewall 2009,
    Mac Partition of the iMac is using Mac OS X 10.6.1 Snow Leopard
    Laptop: Windows XP Pro SP3, Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG, McAfee Personal Firewall 2008
    Please note that though I am a beta tester for Network Magic, I am not a employee of Linksys/Cisco and am volunteering my time here to help other NM users.

  • New Quodlibet breaks system tray icon and multimedia keys

    I just upgraded quodlibet and now there is no system tray icon and multimedia keys no longer work.  It seems to be because of a missing library, libpangocairo-1.0.so.0.  I have both pango and cairo up to date on my system.  Any ideas?

    Yeah the package was built against libraries I dont have.  Compiling it myself fixed the problem.  Good to have QL back... I like it a lot better than rhythmbox.
    Thanks for the help

  • How do I get firefox 3.5 back? Firefox 4 can't find yahoo.mail URL. Using your suggestions has caused me to loose my system tray icons and printers from my computer altogether and my system restore will no longer work either.

    Firefox 4.0 cannot find the Yahoo mail URL. Working with the Verizon tech we were able to get Internet Explorer to finaly find the yahoo mail web site. But not luck with Firefox 4.0 .
    Since trying your suggestions to make firefox 4 find the Yahoo mail URL. I have noticed that all of my system tray icons except the Panda anti virus and volume control icons have disapeared. My system restore will not restore and printers are gone altogether. How do I get the old firefox and all i've lost back.

  • WR110 and Windows 7 + Im connected to Internet but Icon in system tray shows red X

    Hi all,
    I just upgraded both my notebook and Desktop, both of which are wireless.  The Notebook connected just fine, and the system tray shows connection bars.  However my destktop is also connected, but it shows the red x.   Not sure what I need to do to stay connected and have Wireless strength bars reappear.  When I click the connection it says " The settings saved on this computer do not match the requirements for the network".  Also when I click on the red X in the system tray, the connections pop up, and I see the green bars and it says connected, but a few seconds later it goes to the red X, but Im still connected to the internet.  I have ATT DSL and they recently bridged the router to the DSL modem using PPPoe, but that was before I upgraded both PCs to 7 and I did not have this issue prior to upgrading.

    Quack,
    I gave that a try, and changed my SSID.  On my notebook, it of course lost the Internet connection, I saw the new wireless network, and typed in the PW and it connected without issue.  However the DT which is where I am having the issue, is still doing the same thing.  I am connected to Internet as that is where Im typing this email from, but the 5 bars in the lower are still show that X even tho Im connected.  It does say the Security types do not
    match, so I would go in and change to WPA Personal, TKIP, and type in the password, but still nothing.  I have noticed that when I enable and disable my Wireless adapter in the Desktop, 2 icons come back, one for the adapter, and one called. Microsoft Virtual WiFI miniport adapter, which I have disabled, but it does not make any diff if its enabled or not.

  • My ebay toolbar and the ebay logo that was in my system tray at the bottom have both disappeared when I installed FireFox??? How do I get them back? Please help.

    my ebay toolbar and the ebay logo that was in my system tray at the bottom have both disappeared when I installed FireFox??? How do I get them back? Please help.

    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
    This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    Regards
    TD

  • Wine and Plasma: system tray not integrated

    I've read the wiki article on plasma and have installed libappindicator-gtk{2|3} as well as sni-qt and lib32-sni-qt.
    Still, the wine system tray appears in a separate window. What do I do to make it appear inside the regular system tray?

    Soukyuu wrote:That is... rather sub-optimal. So we have to wait until wine supports the new notification spec? Anyone knows of any plans of doing so?
    There's a bug filed on WineHQ[1] about it, but not much happening with it (yet?).

  • System tray and message

    what class is used to minimize an aplication in the system tray?
    and how to show a message in the system tray?

    That would be more an AWT related question than JavaFX related. I don't know much about the system tray, but you might want to look at the documentation behind this: http://download.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/awt/SystemTray.html
    That and the TrayIcon classes probably have what you are looking for.
