J2SE for Linux on Intel IXP420

Is there a version of Java Runtime Environment (J2SE) for Linux runable on Intel IXP420?

No, I would use a free Java-enviroment like kaffe, sablevm, kissme, gcj (for embedded use my champ!)....

  • Where to download OAS9i V1.0.2.2 for Linux RedHat RH6.2(kernel 2.2.16 or later) use?

So that we may better diagnose problems, please provide the following information.
    - Server name:linux1
    - Filename
    - Date/Time: 2/6/2002
    - Browser + Version: Netscape 6
    - O/S + Version: Linux RedHat 6.2 (Kernel 2.2.19, glibc 2.1.3)
    - Error Msg
I am a member of OTN, and I tried to download and test OAS9i for my platform - Linux RedHat 6.2(Kernel 2.2.19, glibc 2.1.3), and I tried to find the related OAS9i product for Linux use from your site "Oracle9iAS Download Options", but I got a confused about those items, I found v1.0.2.2.1 OAS9i image *.cp file there, but there installation guide itself shows that it is for V1.0.2.2 use, that is for Intel Linux use(Kernel 2.2.14 or later, glibc 2.1.3), however, the image *.cp file which could be downloaded is V1.0.2.2.1, is for Intel RH7.1 Linux use(Kernel 2.4.3-12, glibc 2.2.2-10).
So that's very strange, and I want to know that where can I download the *.cp files for Intel Linux RH6.2 use(Kernel 2.2.19 or later, glibc 2.1.3), my platform is RH6.2 because I heart that Intel Linux RedHat's version over 6.2 doesn't be certificated by ORACLE, so I always use Intel RedHat 6.2 as my basic platform, so who can tell me where to download the imgae *.cp files for my platform use? Or any suggestion?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Crosscompiling for Sparc on Intel

    Hello gurus,
I've a problem on which nobody could help me yet. Maybe I ask the wrong questions or the wrong people - who knows. So I ask YOU as THE gurus for Solaris (a newbie on Solaris I am).
    Here it comes:
It is ANYHOW possible to compile a program (plain .c) for the SPARC Solaris 8 on a Intel Solaris 8 system? Please help if you can. In case it is possible - you have an idea on howto link the sparc solaris 8 mysql libs within?
c'ya and thanx in advance, Dirk.

    Hi,
there was an article in a german magazine (freeX 2'2002) on this subject.
Title: Cross-Compile von Programmen fuer Linux/sparc (Author Felix J. Ogris)
    (crosscompiling programs for Linux/SPARC).
The article is very good and gives valuable hints BUT is in german.
    The authors home-page is http://www.ogris.de/.
Link to the table of contents (also in german)

Maybe the author is willing to send you a draft copy of his article (in german).

  • Performance Oracle for Linux OS/390

    Hi all,
somebody know some issues in Oracle for Linux OS/390..?
    instalation, performance, etc.
    Thanks and advanced.
    Best regards....

    Hi Shane,
Oracle has only released client software for Intel Macs, but not the full database server software. If you want to run the Oracle database on your Mac, I suggest installing on a supported OS running in a virtual machine (VMware Fusion, Parallels, or VirtualBox). Michael McLaughlin has a very thorough post on his blog about using an Intel Mac as a client for a database server running in VMware Fusion.

  • Hardware Acceleration for Linux with FireFox 4

    '''Is this just a myth?'''
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit and FireFox 4 stable with a GT 240 and the latest nvidia binary driver. I have this set up as a HTPC through HDMI cable and have audio as well through the HDMI. It works wonderfully! I can watch x.264 and my intel celeron 2.8 GHz doesn't even get out of bed thanks to hardware acceleration.
Now, that is NOT the case while on the web... It is a tall order to watch HD quality flash (although with the [http://demos.hacks.mozilla.org/openweb/HWACCEL/ mozilla hardware stress test] I get 45 FPS). It seems to be that hardware acceleration is still very much in its infancy in the linux environment with firefox 4.
After searching through many threads I have come to find some useless information.
    ''MOZ_ACCELERATED=1 MOZ_GLX_IGNORE_BLACKLIST=1 firefox'' - does nothing
    ''layers.acceleration.force-enabled=true'' - does nothing
There seems to be an issue with firefox not recognising the installed graphics card. On Windows machines, the about:support page will report all the graphic card information in the Graphics section in addition to '''GPU Accelerated Windows 0/1''' or '''1/1'''. This seems to NOT be the case in linux. Why? Why doesn't firefox discover the installed graphics card?
Now, if I have missed a memo or been a total newb in this attempt to take advantage of Accelerated Hardware in FireFox 4 for linux '''PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME''' as to what I need to do. If I have done all the things needed to achieve hardware acceleration and it is just not possible, than the good 'ol folks at mozilla should be a little more transparent when they proudly proclaim that they have released a hardware accelerated browser.
If anyone can shed some light on this predicament please post. If anyone has hit the same wall as I have please post... rant... w/e...

  • Downloading java for linux

I have red hat linux v7.0. I want to download jdk1.3 for linux. There are 2 downloads for it.
    1.RedHat RPM shell script
    2.GNUZIP Tar shell script
I tried to download RedHat RPM shell script ,but it failed.
Can I use GNUZIP Tar shell script for redhat linux.

Yes, you can use the tar.gz shellscript, no problem. It's maybe even easier than the rpm.
After making the package runnable (the same with the RPM, if that was your problem: e.g. chmod 750 j2se-{version}.tar.gz.sh) and run it
(./j2se-{version}.tar.gz,sh), where you will be asked to agree to the SUN Java licence, the shell-script will create a .tar.gz in the directory. Then simply uncompress it (gunzip filename.tar.gz) and unpack it (tar xf filename.tar, you can also make uncompression and unpacking in one way, see man tar). You can unpack it directly to the right dir, or somewhere else, or in the current dir and then move it where you want it. Adding the PATH, if preffered, and it should work.
You can also take a look to
    http://www.blackdown.org
for special Linux JDK's. IBM is also providing JDK's (or j2se's as now called) for Linux, which are often benchmarked to be the fastest on Linux (e.g. the ibm-jdk-1.1.8 was mentioned the prefered one in the Readme in apache jserv and other Java - Tools).
Why does the download of the RPM failed ? Linux also has Download Manager (e.g. caitoo), or you give the URL to the JDK to wget (wget -c can continue the DL later on, if it breaks). It is known that Netscape sometimes corrupt Files, even on Win.

  • May LV for Linux run in embeded linux system with ARM9 ?

    Hello All,
May LV for Linux run in embeded linux system with ARM9 ?
    Tks and best regards!
     Bright

No, it will only run on Intel compatible processors.
You'll need LV Microprocessor SDK for that (AKA LVEmbedded). But you'll lose
the MMI. And you need to build toolchains yourself (although there is a
cygwin example shipped, and converting it to any gcc toolchain is not that
    difficult).
There is a special LV MSDK for ARM processors, but not for all of them.
