  • Auto login web page

    Hi:
I am writing a LV test program to control a Layer 2 switch. At some point, my test program need to access switch's console web page to read or write information. Problem is that the web page required log-in. I have tried the simple method which attachs username & password in the URL. It does not work. There should be some security implemented. The team who wrote the UI either can't or don't want to offer me help.

I stumbled on this sometime back. Maybe it could help:

  • CFolders login web page instead of realm

    Hello,
calling cfolders by the URL http://:/cfolders/cfx_rfc_ui always pops up a realm for login.
Is it possible to modify this behavior and start with a web based html login instead?
By the way: does anyone know a good instruction how to change the styleguide of cfolders?

  • EA4500 router web page not accessible for use.

I cannot login, web page pops up but its only a blue screen with help icon and privacy icon at bottom nothing is interactive. Have tried mylocalrouter.com, linksyssmartwifi.com. When uninstall software, hard reset router then reinstall software I get to the the login icon but when try to login it shows blue screen as previously mentioned in message. Router works but at a reduce speed and cannot manage any options. Tried updating firmware but once I unzip there is no way to install the .ssa firmware file

Hi mtebaldi, have you tried using another browser and computer? If you're using a wireless computer, you may also try to turn the wireless computer WiFi switch to off then connect it directly to the router using an Ethernet cable. Once done, reaccess UI again. You may also try to access UI using "myrouter.local".

  • Encrypted Alert (21) - Windows 7 client web page login falure

    Hello community,
I have a challenge for you.  This is a very odd issue I am having.
Let me outline my basic environment. I have a Windows 2003 Server which serves as the DHCP with a (2-day lease), Windows 7 Clients (fully patched) running IE 11 (fully patched), and a SonicWALL NSA 2400 firewall running the latest firmware 5.8.17xx (SSL
    controls are not enabled).
Symptoms: From the Win7 client I open a specific secure web page https:// and after I enter my user name and password I get a server side message “cannot connect to our authentication server”.
I called the web site support and they said the message will display if the client trying to connect to the remote server for authentication does not use port 4000.
I can try to login over and over again but I always get the same message.
I can see by using the NETSTAT command that port 4000 is being opened on the client but the connection always fails.
After running WireShark I discovered that just after the [Login] button is clicked the SSL3.1/TLSv1.2 TCP session is started with the Client and Server saying their respective Hello’s, key exchanges, and cipher change but just after that I get a transmission,
from the server side, of “Encryption Alert” (21) and then a [FIN] packet which closes the session.
This is when the “cannot connect to our authentication server” message pops since the session has a fatal error decrypting the packet.
After hours of trial and error, plus reading online, I found I have the option to peer inside these encrypted packets to maybe see more information about the problem with the “bad” packet.
I’m not sure what key to use to put into the SSL preferences in WireShark.
I have tried many things to find a workaround and have found only one way that works consistently.
I have about 10 clients that login each day and the problem in intermittent.
Normally 1 or 2 clients will have the problem each day; it’s a crap shoot that it will happen to anyone.
Well, at least I have not found a pattern yet if there is one.
Temporary Fix: After the client web page login fails, I can run the following commands.
I run the first command to set a static IP and then login to the web site and it suddenly works.
I then log out of the web site and I run the second command to get the client back to a dynamic IP.
I login to the web page again the login works.  After a random number of days go by the problem comes back and I have to run this temporary fix again.
    (1)
    netsh int ip set address "Local Area Connection" static {ip address} {ip mask} {default gw}
    netsh int ip set address "Local Area Connection" dns {ip address}
    (2)
netsh int ip set address "Local Area Connection" dhcp
Just renewing the IP address from DHCP will not do the trick; I have to set it static first.
Any ideas on what may be happening during the Static IP setting that would fix this?
I know that Microsoft just recently patched the SCHANNEL file(s) in November.
I started seeing this issue on December 15th.
I’m currently assuming that there is a defective packet because according to MSDN and RFC tables the “Encrypted Alert” 21 code means
decryption_failed – “Decryption of a TLSCiphertext record is decrypted in an invalid way: either it was not an even multiple of the block length or its padding values, when checked, were not correct. This message is always fatal.”
I really appreciate and insight any may have on how this process works and what may be happening.
    - Dr. Dig

    MeipoXu,
Thanks for the reply and fantastic link to that detail.  I am seeing events on many workstations, and not just the ones with this problem.  The event ID is 36887 and the message is “The following fatal alert was received: 40”.  I did some
research on this error and it appears that it is related to the MS kb-2992611 patch.  Apparently the patch, which we did deploy back in December, has caused a number of schannel problems, while trying to fix some.  Our issue started on 12/15/14.
There's an article on ZDnet (search for "Microsoft Warns of problems with Schannel security update") where it explains what is happening since the patch.
I have done two things to fix it, without removing the MS-patch.
The one manual fix I mentioned in my first post and I can also uncheck the 3.0 SSL/1.2 TLS in my IE browser.
In fact I went back to SSL 2.0 / TLS 1.0 and have not had any problems for 6 days now.
I am going to set a PC back to the “problem” settings to confirm 1.2 TLS is my problem. I’ll report back my findings for others.
The one thing to note is that we login to multiple secure sites and only one has the issue.
I suspect the other side has done, or not done, something to make the issue happen with my settings.

  • Web page with javascript login shows the login in IE8 but not Firefox 9

The web page http://epgservices.sky.com/nevermiss/ loads properly in Internet Explorer 8 and shows login details but these don't show when loaded in Firefox 9.0.1
The login is generated by Javascript as far as I can see. Java is enabled and is not being blocked by AdBlock Plus because I've turned it off to see if it made any difference but the login for this website does not show

    Hi cor-el,
Thank you for your reply. Earlier in my attempts to solve this problem and before contacting Firefox Help, I did start Firefox in Safe Mode after clearing the cache and the cookies from sky.com but this made no difference. The login was still not showing.
Today after trying the website on my laptop running Firefox 9.0.1 and finding the login was loading correctly I decided to uninstall Firefox but keeping my original extensions etc., and re-install Firefox from a freshly downloaded install file. It is now displaying the login correctly on that web page. I think it may have been caused by lefy-overs from previous upgrades of Firefox and the re-install cured the problem. It's amazing what problems a fresh install will solve!
    Thank you for your help

  • How to tRetrieving a web page after login

I have a requirement to connect to a site and get an html content. This need to be implemented using URLConnection.
But the problem is that I need to sucessfully complete a login form first, inorder to reach that page. so how I can do this login programatically?
Can I first connect to the login url to submit the data and use the same connection object to go to the next page. Is it the way I should do it? I mean this will take care of all the cookies, headers etc that the remote server needs for the second time?
    TIA,
    dw

By login page, do you mean an actualy web page that contains login information or a basic authentication popup. If it is basic authentication, then you can just pass the user name and password as part of the header.

    mod_plsql manual at:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_03/web.1013/b25599/toc.htm
    Configuration for mod_plsql:
    $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/mod_plsql/conf/dads.conf
First thing to do is to ensure that mod_plsql works and can run your stored procs. Edit the dads.conf file (use dads.readme for instructions) and configure a DaD (Database access Descriptor) for you database.
Restart Apache to effect the config change. I simply (and incorrectly) use $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/bin/apachectl - and it will tell you why it is not recommended and the correct command to run.
The URL for will be something like:
    http://yourserver/dad/[schema.][package.]procedure[&parameters]
The stuff in square brackets are optional.
Create the following sample PL/SQL proc to call from the web browser:
create or replace procedure Hello( cName varchar2 DEFAULT NULL ) is
    begin
    htp.prn( 'Hello World from '|| NVL(cName,'Nobody') );
end;Make sure the Oracle user you configured the DaD with has exexcute rights on this procedure. E.g. if the DaD uses Oracle user WEB_USER to connect to the database and the procedure is created as SCOTT, then SCOTT must grant execute rights on the proc to WEB_USER.
The web browser URL for calling this stored proc will look as follows:
    Without passing any parameters:
    http://yourserver/dad/scott.hello
With passing the cName parameter as defined in the stored proc:
    http://yourserver/dad/scott.hello?cname=John
As for the rest - you likely will need to use cookie authentication to "login" from a web page. Then you also need to determine just how you are going to use these session cookies on the database server side for security. How you're going to manage these cookies. Persist them in the database. Which also means managing session states for stateless clients via such a session cookie. Etc.
This is not trivial to design, code and implement.
Why not use Oracle Application Express instead?

You can try to clear your IE history by going to Settings > Swipe to left/right to go Applications > Internet Explorer > Delete History and then retry. By the way, it would be best to just setup your e-mail on the phone by going to Settings > Email+accounts.

  • Auto Loading web page for ebay login in safari

    HI,
I wonder if anyone can help me.
I am running a mid 2011 intel imac with Mountain Lion and Safari all updates installed.
The problem I have is that ever since I took a holiday in June 2013 I'am now getting a web page auto loading in safari this seems to happen at randowm points either opening in a new tab or even open safari when it is closed. The web page is the ebay login page and has some detail of a user unkown to me in the URL.
I have spoken with apple support and we have tried clearing the cache's, reseting safari, checking the library files and removing the plist but all to no avail. Ideally I would like to uninstall safari and reload but this does not appear to be an option.
Also it would appear that I have a memory bleed when safari is running. I have 12Gb of memory that has always worked well but lately is goes down to only 39mb free or less. Quiting safari will return up to 7Gb of free memory.
Has anyone come across a simular problems?

From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

  • JAAS/JAZN: LDAPLoginModule doesn't work with servlet RunAs() security mode

Just thought I'd post this here too, in case any developers actually read this list or in case someone else has run into a similar issue or has any ideas...
I'm having a problem where whenever I use Oracle 10gAS's LDAPLoginModule at the same time as RunAs() mode OC4J crashes.
Application is UIX/Struts for the view layer and ADF BC for the model layer. It is being developed in JDeveloper 10g (10.1.2.0.0) and deployed on 10gAS (10.1.2.0.0)
I am using JAAS (JAZN) for authentication. I am using a custom JAAS LoginModule for the app: "oracle.security.jazn.login.module.LDAPLoginModule". Instructions for using the module are documented in the OC4J Security Guide, Chapter 9 "Configuring External LDAP
    Providers":
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_07/web.1012/b14013/ldap3rdparty.h
    tm#sthref500
This is working fine - I can successfully authenticate against my LDAP server.
In order to retrieve security credentials (i.e. the Subject) while in the Model later, I am running the servlet in doAs() mode, also known as "runas-mode". This is documented in Chapter 4:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_07/web.1012/b14013/genconfig.htm#
    sthref322
This works great - when I authenticate against the local XML file I can successfully run the application and retrieve the Subject and Principals.
The problem is that whenever I try to use both of these at the same time the application will not run. I have attached a trace with JAAS/JAZN debug messages enabled.
It appears to be failing in the process of creating the BC Application Module. Apparently when it creates a new thread to monitor the application module pool, in the process of establishing JAAS permissions for the new thread it attempts to retrieve the REALM from the oracle.security.jazn.realm.LDAPPrincipal object -- which is an unsupported function when the Principal was generated by an LDAPLoginModule. For some reason this error crashes the entire process.
You can see a trace of my program here:
    http://www.asugroup.com/jazn-errorlog.txt
This should be simple to reproduce by simply creating an ADF BC application, modifying orion-web.xml so that the servlet is in runas-mode, and modifying $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/config/jazn-data.xml to use the LDAPLoginModule.
All I can figure is that it must be a "bug" (or unsupported functionality) in 10gAS. WHY in the world is 10g failing on the getRealm() function of a Principal that it setup itself? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. The only solution I can think of at this point is to throw Oracle's LoginModule implementation right out the window and write my own... although I don't even know if that will work yet.
    Jeremy

ok, so i know that this isn't metalink... but i'm pretty sure this is either a "bug" or "unsupported feature" -- although now that i've looked a bit deeper i'm guessing it has something to do with the "role.mapping.dynamic" flag too. (Haven't tested it yet but I think it might work fine if I put the roles in the local XML file.)
Anyway, if anyone's interested, here's detailed steps so you - YES YOU! - can reproduce the problem yourself if the desire grips you. :)
I put this together for the TAR but figured there's some useful information in here (e.g. the debugging stuff) so it might be helpful for someone in the future to post it here too.
    1. Open or create any ADF BC project in JDeveloper. It can be ANY project as long as it uses ADF BC for the MODEL layer.
    2. Add orion-web.xml to the VIEW project if it's not already there.
2a) Right click on orion-web.xml and select Properties
2b) In the "JAZN" section, select the checkbox "Run as Mode"
    3. Edit web.xml to require authorization to run the app.
3a) Right click on web.xml and select Properties
3b) Under the "security roles" section add the name of an group you're a member of on the LDAP server. Only include the relative name of the group - not the full LDAP distinguished name. Also, convert the name to lowercase.
3c) Under "security constraints" add a new constraint.
3d) In the constraint, make a new resource collection called "everything" and add the URL pattern "/".
3e) In the constraint, go to the authorization tab and select your LDAP group name.
3f) Go to the "Login Configuration" section of web.xml and choose HTTP Basic Authentication. Leave the realm blank.
    4. Add orion-application.xml to the project if it's not already there. Configure the "JAZN" tag as follows:
    <jazn provider="XML">
    <property name="role.mapping.dynamic" value="true" />
    </jazn>
    3. Deploy the application to Oracle 10g Application Server.
    4. On the application server, edit the file $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/config/jazn-data.xml
4a) In the section jazn-data/jazn-loginconfig add a new "application" section for your application. See below for example.
4b) Make sure the "name" of your application matches the deployment name in your EAR file for the project you deployed.
    5. I recommend enabling JAZN debugging. See below for instructions on that.
    6. Restart OC4J if you already haven't - to make sure it rereads the config, then try to run your application.

ENABLING JAZN DEBUGGING MESSAGES ON ORACLE 10G APPLICATION SERVER
    1. Login to Enterprise Manager 10g Application Server Control
    2. If you are part of a farm you will get a list of instances. Select the instance your app is deployed on.
    3. In the "System Components" section of the home page, click on your OC4J instance (default name is "home").
    4. In the OC4J home, click on the "Administration" tab.
    5. Select "Server Properties" from the Instance Properties section.
    6. In the Command Line Options section, there is an option called "Java Options".
    7. At the end of the "Java Options", append the text "-Djazn.debug.log.enable=true"
    8. When prompted, restart the OC4J instance.
Debug information is captured by OPMN and stored in a log file. The log file can be found in the directory $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs
The default name (if your instance name is "home") is "OC4J~home~default_island~1"

  • Some web pages come up blank, generally following a link, that have opened without issues in earlier FF versions. Pages open OK in IE8 and/or in Chrome. Have tried the cookies clearing etc as suggested elsewhere, without success.

I'm running FF 3.6.8. Certain websites (no apparent pattern, no secure sites) come up blank (white screen), showing "Done" on the footer. It generally happens when clicking on a link in another web page but no login or similar is involved to get to the intended site. Have cleared the cookies and followed the advice for a similar issue stated elsewhere on the Help forum, to no avail. Have also not added any add-ons since that recent FF upgrade.
The affected sites have come up without issues in earlier FF versions, and they do load in IE8 and in Chrome. A representative example is shown below. - Will appreciate any helpful comments and recommendations!

  • How to send quiz results to a web page?

Okay, this should have taken 2 minutes, not 2 hours. Very frustrating. Here is the situation:
    * Downloaded Captivate 5 Trial Version
    * Created based quiz (which took forever to figure out how to set the correct answers -- HORRIBLE user interface for setup, but that is another issue)
    * I want the results sent to a web page. I will code the web page & database calls, etc. to handle the information (I am a web developer). Just need the information sent somewhere!
    Several big issues here:
    1. When setting up a URL for the "Pass or Fail", nothing happens. User not taken anywhere. No "Post Results" button shown. The Captivate file just ends and that's it. ??
    2. Finally figured out that I needed the "Internal Server" option chosen to have a Post Results button shown. Okay.
So when I click Post Results (after answering the 5 questions correctly), I am shown a login box. Why? What is this for? This is not needed. I am going to an INTERNAL SERVER. It is none of Adobe's business what this person's name/email is. What gives? Okay... anyways, I enter my own Adobe login information. It then says "Connecting..." then I get a Status Message that says "Unknown Error". Keep in mind this will be used by a general audience, of which approximately 99.9% will not have an Adobe ID, nor should they need one.
How I can easily have the Captivate file redirect the user to pages like this: Confirm.aspx?pass=yes or Confirm.aspx?pass=no.
I don't need anything fancy. But I do need something that works. This is terribly frustrating and I'm about to say it just doesn't work. Please tell me I am wrong.
Thank for your time and for reading this.
    -Randy

The Quiz Results slide's Continue button actions are set under Quiz Preferences > Pass or Fail > If Passing Grade etc. By default, the Continue button is set to just continue on to the next slide after the Quiz Results.
After the user clicks the Continue button on the Quiz Results slide any Pass/Fail actions you've set up there will be evaluated and executed.
So if the user achieved a passing score, and you set up an action such as Go to URL in Current Window for that case, then the user should find themselves redirected to that URL.  If there was a different action for Failure, and the user failed, then that should happen.  But either of these will only happen after the Continue button is clicked.
I tested this by setting www.google.com as the go to URL and it worked.  To see if the URL is the issue, try using another URL that you know everyone can get to.  If that works, try to find out why the URL you want to use is not working.  If no URL works, something else is interfering with the action.
