Jabber Outlook intergration

Hello Everyone!
When Jabber is intergrated with Outlook is it possible to force the business IP phone field (AD field and internal extension) to be the default phone number as oppose to the full DID phone number within Outlook when Jabber is intergrated? I know this is possible when modifying the jabber-config.xml file from within the Jabber client but need to force this setting from within Outlook as well when Jabber is intergrated. Is this possible? Any suggestions/solutions are appreciated. Thank you!

as far as i understand the default mapping of the business phone field is done with the telephone number field; if you want outlook to get this forced for every AD contact information; you will need to figure out a way to get this first corrected in the Global address book.
Have you spoken with MS about how this kind of mapping is possible; as outlook will ( if jabber is not turned on) sync information in outlook contact cards through the global address list.

Outlook intergration with Java

Im building a application that was orginaly intended to contain a mail client, but why reinvent the wheel right ?
Is anyone familliar how to add funcionality to outlook ?
I cannot seem to find information on intergration with a java program.
Before I get a pile of retorts that I should not do this with java. I never made the decision, that came from above.
Specificly I need to add a menu item, and an option included whenever a user rightclicks on an email.
And vice versa I need to be able to open Outlook and jump to a specific email.
Does anyone know where information can be found to add functionality to Outlook ? Ive been snooping around but have not found much.

Well, maybe you need to learn to be candid with your management. Optimism is one thing, Stupidity (theirs, not yours) is another. If it is practical and feasible to solve a problem with their requirements, be optimistic and do it. If their suggestion clearly shows a lack of engineering knowledge, politely suggest that you use the right tool for the job (which is NOT java).

Quik save not saving attachment - Outlook Intergration

Hi All,
My client when saves an e-mail with attachment as an Activity using the Quick Save email option in Outlook It just saves the email as an Activity but no attachment. The email attachment is getting saved only if using the normal Save email as Activity option.
Has anyone come up with this kind of problem ? Any help is appreciated.

Hi Johnson,
I believe that is due to system issue. If you choose Quick Save, something may be omitted depending on your setting. If you need attachment, it is better not select Quick Save.

Outlook Intergration error after upgrade to 2007

Hi all.
One of our clients were upgraded to 2007. The upgrade went well...however, when you log into Business One... a window pops up..."Create default templates". when you click create it comes up with a message asking if you want to overwrite the existing templates. I clicked yes to all..
Then an error message pops up "Failed to create template 'Executive Customer (by Business Partner)'
When you click ok..it goes back to the 1st screen..

You are getting this issue as the index on user defined table [@BOOSTP] is not right. It does not
include column U_Host.
In order to try to resolve the issue, please follow the solution as per SAP Note : 1229026.

Outlook Integration Templates Issue

Hi Guys,
I wonder if you could help me with a problem I am having regarding Outlook Integration (OI) templates.
We have recently upgraded a customer from 2005 to 8.81 and this has updated OI. However now whenever a user logs in to Business One they receive a pop up box asking them to create defaul templates.
They select a language and then try to create them. This then comes up asking if they wish to overwrite the existing templates. When selecting yes it gives an error saying they cannot do this. And then goes back to the create templates screen.
This can keep going around in circles until a user clicks cancel. However this pop up box loads up everytime they log into the system.
I have had a look around the forums but I can only find help on creating templates, not on removing this pop up box.

1. This had been the same issue several times, every time the client logs onto SBO this message pops up a need to define the correct path wherein the templates are located in the server and the base client path where the templates need to be created.A few times successfull, browsing to the correct path on the server and creating a base path C:\......\Templates in the client and the templates were re-created or copying the entire snapshot templates from the Server and place it on the client
system. It can be a reason the User cannot access the server templates folder of write to the path C:\...
or,
2. Using Admin login on the client machine Uninstall the MS Outlook integration server from the control panel from the client and install MS Outlook Intergration standalone setup available in you server.

Saving Emails As Activity Very Slow

I have about 4 or 5 users that when they click on the Save Email as activity it seems to take a very long time, in some cases up to 5 minutes to do this for one email. I have checked to make sure that the are no other network problems but everything is fine ont he Network Analyzer that I have used to check for network activity. Plus there access to the internet and other network resources are normal. The server looks normal there is little over head on it as well processor activity is very low along with memory and disk activity is normal. Any suggestion on how to speed this up would be greatly appreciated.

1) I am using Window XP,MSP 2007 and ECC6.0 but when i am trying to upload Milestone assigned to summary task in MSP to SAP then uploading is not perform in system.
Can anybody let me know how to create milestone in MSP for WBS and how to upload it in SAP.
2)I am not able to use MSP and SAP integration in Windows 2007.Is there is any reason for that.

Are you saying that you are missing Meeting tab in Jabber, or that it is not sycronized with Otlook calendar?
There was a known issue with missing meeting tab in pre-released version of 9.2.2:
CSCuh19703
Can you check exact version of your Jabber? (9.2.2.2526 should have this fixed )
If you see meeting tab, but not sheduled meetings, then this could be with corrupted Outlook data file. I would advise creating new (.pst outlook data file ).

Jabber and Outlook Pressence

Hello,
We are using a mix of CUPC and Jabber clients, and having trouble with some of the Outlook integration. I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I couldn't find a better category.
What is happening is, if you receive an email from someone, or are typing an email to someone, if you hover over their name, a window pops up with their contact information. On that pop up, you are able to email, call, IM, etc. On many of our users, when you hover over the phone button, it will say Call: [email protected] rather than their actual extension. I've done some research on this, but can't really find anything definitive. I have a mix of the users with the problem that have the SIP: entry in their proxyAddresses, and some that don't, so I don't think this is the issue, at least directly.
Any help figuring this out would be greatly appreciated.

Windows 7 with Office 2007 and Office 2010

In our deployment (CUP 8.6.4, Jabber for Windows 9.1.1, Office 2010, Exchange 2010), before I set up the SIP URI for our pilot users we were getting intermittent Presence status in Outlook, which would typically spring to life if you hovered you mouse over the contacts details. Also the call field as described above by Mark was correct for most users (i.e the number was populated) but some it was not.
I've now arranged for our AD team to add SIP:[email protected] (matching the IM addresses) to the proxyadresses attribute for three of the pilot users in order to improve the reliability so will report back when done
I've a couple of questions though if you or anyone wouldn't mind answering if you can?
1) Any ideas why, without the SIP URI attribute being added to proxyAdresses for any users, that Presence status sometines worked OK ?
2) Some users already have a SIP URI in the proxyAdresses attribute, but in the wrong format (SIP:[email protected]) which does not match the IM address format. We're not sure where these came from or why they are there, but is it likely to cause a problem if a user has two SIP: entries in different formats in their proxyAddresses attribute field?

Jabber 9.2.1 outlook integration.

Just rolled out jabber 9.2.1 to a few users and we are noticing a few problems.
1. We are no longer able to search the outlook local address book.
On the connection status it shows connection error, address outlook, protocol MAPI, error COM0x80070002.
2. The calendar integration is not working. We have the Outlook option ticked, but nothing shows up on the calendar tab.
3. Our Helpdesk operative had a direct number and a number in a hunt group for helpdesk calls. The popup no longer works for the huntgroup calls. I have seen a few reports of this.
Im also looking at getting video working. We didnt have this setup before, but I thought I would try it. i have the MSI installed and a working webcam attached, but the desktop video connection status shows unavailable, reason unknown.
Other than that its gone well

I have found that the problem with Outlook integration occured when the new client was upgraded from 9.1
If I uninstall the old client first and then delete the 'c:\documents and settings\userid\application data\Ciso' folder, the new install works OK.

Jabber for Windows - Outlook Meeting integration issue/questions

Hi,
A couple of questions if anyone else has experienced or can answer:
1. When you turn on Jabber it appears in the trace file to create a transitionlist of meetings in your calendar for the next four hours. Eg if meeting 8-9 it will show 8:00 BUSY
9:00 FREE
and this works ok. This transitionlist also seems to update each time a status change occurs from what I have observed.
The problem we seem to have is if I open Jabber at 7.45am and have a meeting 8 - 9 then it shows "In a meeting", then if I create a meeting at 9.15am for 10am-10.30am, the meeting status does not change as it seems to operate of the four hour transitionlist. I have the setting in the CUPS server for exchange sync to happen every twenty minutes, but this does not seem to update.
I'm be focussing on the wrong area but basically not all calendar appt's update status in Jabber, especially the one's created within the four hour pperiod.
2. To have the presence status of a person in an Outlook email address field, do you need 2010 or does it work with prior versions, we currently operate 2003. I have configured the SIP component in AD, but no status or click to call facility from Outlook.

Thanks for your post. Issue (1) sounds like a configuration issue in your setup. Please open a TAC case for further assistance.
Regarding (2), Jabber for windows does noot support Office 2003. List of supported MS Office applications is listed in Jabber for Windows administration guide.
