Jabber Screen share grayed out - SOLVED

Community, I need your help! I don't know where else to look.
I have in production CUCM (9.1.2.10000-28) and CUPS (9.1.1.31900-1) and I want to solve a few misbehaviors on CUPS.
Everything works without problems; except for the screen share, which works just partially our environment was deployed using Jabber for Windows version 9.2.4 now, we are trying to move to the latest version (9.6.0) during the process I found that only the screen share is not working when the call is not initiated by a client running 9.2.4, call, chat, and outlook integration works for all versions.
Currently we have a mix of this versions:
9.2.4
9.2.6
9.6.0
My first guess was a misconfiguration problem, but I the phones and users have the correct SIP profile.
Then I thought it was a problem with the COP file, but I checked in CCO and there is not a cop file under "Jabber for Windows" but there is one if you look under "Jabber for iPhone/Android" (Click here)
Last I checked the Jabber-config.xml (find it attached) and there is nothing weird.
What else can I check?
Why only when the call is dialed from Jabber client with version 9.2.4 the screen share works?

Hi Amit,
So to confirm, desktop sharing is only available when the CSFs are actively registered to CUCM and appropriate BFCP configured on the SIP profile? This is the only way to enable desktop sharing when using On Premise deployment?
We currently use Webex Messenger deployment with our internal Jabber and the desktop sharing is avaiable without having to place a call. So gussing its different when using cloud deployment.
This is fairly crucial for a couple of deployments I am working on currently, this coupled with the fact they they are using Citrix clients with Jabber. Call control in Citrix is proving difficult and one of the customers is happy just to have desktop control wiith Jabber and not softphone. But are you saying that desktop sharing is only available when using the softphone?
Cheers
Oli

  • Leopard iChat Screen Sharing Grayed out

    Hi there-
I'm experiencing an issue with the new "Share my screen" feature of Leopard OS X 10.5. I've been able to successfully establish a connection with two other people in both directions (letting them control my screen, and controlling their screen), however have had issues connecting to my father (whom, of course, would be the most useful to have the feature with for support/troubleshooting).
Basically, in iChat the option to request control of his screen is grayed out when I attempt to connect to him. On his end, his option to share his screen is grayed out. Interestingly, my option to share my screen with him is available and he can request control of my screen, but it never actually connects.
Are there any firewall ports that need to be open on our routers? Has anyone else seen this problem?
I have an intel based 24" iMac (the white model), and he has the brand new 20" iMac.
I wasn't sure whether to post here or in the Leopard Forum, so I'll post in both.
    Thanks for your help!
    Joel

I've done that, to both iMacs (Intel based) though i still have them grayed out. Before, when the other computer's screen sharing was turned off, and mine was on, i was able to offer him to share my screen, but once he activated his Screen sharing from the System Pref. we both are having the Screen sharing button grayed out in Bonjour and AIM Buddy List.
    Any hints? much appreciated
    Thanks in advance

  • My Safari screen is grayed out.  It does not respond to touch.  How to bring it back to life?

My Safari screen is grayed out.  It does not respond to touch. How can I restore it back to life?

Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Cache. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to shut down. then hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears to start up.
You can also reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep button and home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears (takes about 10 seconds) - ignore the red slider.

  • Adobe Flash Player has blocked me from using FF. A box shows up and the upper screen is grayed out

When I start FF, a small box comes up in the upper middle of the screen - it is from Flash Player and it has two selections: allow and deny. With this flash player box, the upper third of the screen is grayed out. It will not allow use of most visited, bookmarks, or anything that is to be initiated at the top of the page. Even if I start a program, I cannot use the upper controls for that program. This is the second day that it has been blocking my use of FF. Note: I also use Seamonkey, but it has not been affected by the flash player problem. I have re-installed flash player, re-booted, restarted FF, and no changes have come about. I am still blocked from using FF. In fact, I am using this support page on Seamonkey.

this sounds really strange, could you attach a screenshot of the issue?
another thing you can try to troubleshoot the issue is a clean reinstall: remove firefox from the windows control panel & chose to remove all personal data in the uninstaller. afterwards manually check if the firefox program folder got deleted (it's usually in ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox'') and else remove it manually. then download & install a fresh copy at getfirefox.com
if this doesn't work either please do a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes], [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner], [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx microsoft safety scanner] & [http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan kaspersky security scan].

  • When i log onto safari the screen is grayed out and i no touch features are functioning

when i log onto safari the screen is grayed out and i no touch features are functioning

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • ICal uses up my screen showing grayed-out hours of the night when I do not have appointments - support instructions about Preferences do not work.

iCal has preferences that let you decide how many hours per day you want to see, and which hours of the day you want to make appointments. For example, I need to see 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and I don't need to make appointments for the night. If I specify in my prefs that my "day starts at 7 am" and "day ends at 8 pm," when I look at my screen it still shows me all 24 hours---with nighttime grayed out.
This also happens if I change the number of hours I ask to be shown, in preferences again. For example, if I specify that I want to make appointments for 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., that totals ten hours. Whether I click "Show 24 hours" or "Show 10 hours," I still have those grayed-out, useless nighttime hours taking up my screen and forcing me to scroll when I don't want to scroll. I don't want my day to start at 1 a.m. When I click onto a day, I want to see 7 a.m. at the top of the screen.
I'm on Snow Leopard, iMac intel duo, running iCal 4.0.4 .
Here are the official support directions/instructions for this.
"To change the time range that appears in the main calendar view, choose iCal > Preferences and click General. To change the range of time when you’re normally available each day, choose your daytime hours from the “Day starts at” and “Day ends at” pop-up menus. All times outside that range are shaded in the day or week calendar view.To set the number of hours that are displayed when you view your calendar in Day or Week view, choose a number from the Show pop-up menu."
It mentions these unavailable hours will be "shaded," but my issue isn't whether or not they are shaded (I don't much care) but the fact that I don't want to see them on my screen and be forced to scroll a lot.
I took screen grabs of these calendars and corresponding Preferences settings, but apparently I'm supposed to go into Photoshop and resize them, etc etc, in order to upload them to this forum. Not going to do it. I hope my description above is clear enough.

  • Safari internet screen remains grayed out

My mother did something to the Safari internet page and now its all grayed out. I can still see the webpages like normal, but the whole screen looks to be highlighted gray and I can't click on anything on the page. The search bar function still works and goes to other pages, but nothing else does because of the gray highlight. Any suggestions how I can unhighlight the page?

    Nevermind...found the answer.
    Clear cookies, browser and cache.
Shut off and turn back on...........works like normal.

  • 'Access on Lock Screen' option grayed out?

I was able to swipe from the bottom of my screen to view the control center after updating to iOS7.  But now the function doesn't work and the turn on/off option within Settings is now grayed out and cannot be changed.
    Anyone else have this issue?

Do you think something changed with my company's security settings that disabled this option?Yes. I would consult the IT dept. at your company.

I am  not able to add any text / value in any of the field on the EMAIL screen. all buttons like - send , to , from , CC are  inactive / greyed out. and  the email body  doesn't accepts any characters, basically cant type anything in the email body.
SCOT setup is alredy performed and working good. I can send emails from SBWP to any email ID.
so far  I tried to insert IC_INBOX in the business role nad assogned the business role to PFCGF role , but no help.
Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated...
    Regards,
    Rakesh.

    Hi,
You should check your email profile (which is assigned to the business role you are using) :
    Interaction Center WebClient->Basic Functions->Communication Channels->Define E-Mail Profiles
Then depending on your scenario (push or pull), check the email provider maintained there :
ICI : in case your are using push from a CMS
Agent Inbox : in case you are processing email from the agent inbox
    Hope this helps,
    Best regards.

  • GTX 970 4G screen flicker/black out[Solved!]

My new GTX 970 4G is causing my display to intermittently flicker as well as going completely black.  Sometimes it stays black until I toggle the display input.  Other times everything seems to work fine for a while.  I was able to play Bioshock Infinite for a couple hours with no problem, but as soon as I quit the game it started again.  I'm trying to determine if I have a lemon or a software/hardware compatibility issue.
    Youtube link of problem:
    Computer:
Asus Rampage 3 Formula mobo with latest bios
    Corsair HX850W PSU
    i7 950
    Crucial 16g RAM
    No overclock on my setup
    Previously using vanilla GTX 580
Steps I've tried to fix:  Used both DVI ports on card, plus HDMI.  Nvidia drivers 334.60 and .16, scrubbed previous drivers before installing.  Changed PCIE slots on mobo.

Ok, I'll post some more info and let's see if anything lines up.
    System
    i5-4690K
    MSI GTX 970 4G Gaming
    MSI Z97M Gaming
    Corsair Vengeance 16GB
    Corsair AX 760i  (also tried HX-620 & AX-760)
Monitors Asus VE276Q via DisplayPort - AOC 22 via DVI - Panasonic 37" LCD TV via HDMI
Firstly I noticed the ASUS screen would display a corrupt image, see picture below.
But it would only do it on the ASUS screen, the other two screens would display correctly. If I unplugged or cycled the inputs on the ASUS screen, all screens would drop sync and system would hang. If I waited a few mins I would hear the hardware disconnect sound by windows, but the computer would need a reset to work correctly again.
Plugged in via Dvi or HDMI I would get the same flicker that in the OP's video, but only on the ASUS screen.
Got new cables, didn't fix anything. Am typing this out on the pc in question as we speak, it's been stable last 3 days running a Dell 22" via DisplayPort with AOC & Panasonic still connected also.
Tested without GPU , problem doesn't appear. Looks like these GTX 970's don't like to play with Asus VE27** monitors.

  • Safari screen is grayed out, only thing I can type is control bar

What should I do to be able to control screen again?

    Hi Brian,
Try restarting your device. Hold down the sleep wake button, then slide to power off.
If this doesn't work, then run a reset. Hold down both the shome button, and the sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears.

  • Difficulty sharing screen--grayed out

I set my mother-in-law up with a Mac Mini so that I could troubleshoot problems when she needed help. The ability to share screens via iChat is the main way we want to do this.
But when we were both on iChat, the ability to share her screen was grayed out. Under her video menu, "Screen Sharing Enabled" is grayed out.
Anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I can successfully share screens with others.
Is it an issue with the Mac Mini? Is a video camera and microphone required to share screens?

A Camera or Mic is not required to Screen Share although the Screen Sharing in iChat does include an Audio feed.
I have tried turning Off Share Screen option then selecting Microphone Enabled which in fact then Disables it. I can still turn On Screen Sharing again.
There is also a Show Audio (Video) Status (in the View Menu) which turns the Buddy Video and Audio icons Off. But these do not seem to effect things either.
Does she have System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming set at 1.5Mbps ?
She will need to Restart iChat if she has to change.
Having said this, in Leopard if left at Automatic, iChat would be limited to 384k anyway which would be fast enough for Screen Sharing.
At this stage I am at a bit of a loss as to a Fix per se.
I would get her to try a Restart of the computer whilst holding down the Apple Key + ALT PR keys together until she hears three start up Bongs.
