Jabber Softphone issue

I'm hoping someone can help me here.
I am deploying Jabber to our 1000+ user org and there are a handful of users that have the need for Jabber softphones. I am able to setup the CSF devices just fine and the users don't have any errors when they choose to control their computer for control.
The issue is when the user is connected via VPN (AnyConnect), the calls placed to them do not go to their jabber client. It only rings their deskphone.  They can place calls (internal and external) just fine, but cannot receive them.
Ideas?

So, Jabber doesn't even ring??
Or do you have 1-way/no audio??

  • Jabber connection to Presence server /softphone issue

    Hello community,
Can i get some help with Cisco Unified Presence (8.6) working with Cisco Jabber for MAC (9.2.1)? So here is the scenario, we are currently moving away from Cisco WebEX, so i needed to configure our Cisco Presence server to be able have our Mac user login to Cisco Jabber so that they can use the phone.  Currently i have configured CSF device on the Call Manager, which is working fine when i login to Cisco Jabber with my WebEX account, it allows me to define my phone device and login information, once connected i am able to make calls with my Cisco Jabber client.
Now that i have configured my presence server, i have reset my jabber so that i can point to my presence server which seem to work for my account, but i am unable to get another account to work.  It allows me to sign into the presence server, but under the “Call Preferences” tab, it is not picking up my phone device.  It shows alias as Computer (Software Phone) but the area is grey out so i am not able to make any changes.
On my account that is working this area would should my device “CSFXXXXX” the device that i have created in CM.
Also for the account that is not working, it is working if i login with the WebEX credentials and manually set the phone device in the Call preferences.
Hope someone can guide me in the correct direction.
    Regards,
    Allan

I found my error. I needed to add the user to the CTI profile.
    Regards,
    Allan

  • Cisco Jabber Softphone not working

    Hi
The softphone is not working for cisco jabber windows
    Attached is the logs
    CUCM AND CUPS version 9.x
I found the below but is not clear to me what is the issue
    2013-10-10 12:53:42,577 DEBUG [0x00001360] [tionplugin\StatusBarPhoneButton.cpp(127)] [plugin-runtime] [OnCanSelectDeskphone] - enabling deskphone menu items
2013-10-10 12:53:42,577 DEBUG [0x000011a8] [src\config\TftpHelper.cpp(114)] [csf.ecc] [ecc::TftpHelper::doRetrieveFile] - Received error: eFileNotFound downloading file using HTTP from 'http://10.255.0.11:6970/CTLSEPCSFKIKACHRISTOU.tlv', not trying TFTP following an explicit HTTP "not found" error.

    Hi Chrysostomos,
I assumes your device name is CSFKIKACHRISTOU
You have added an ower id t the Device
You have allowed CTI Control for the device
You have associated the device to your user in End User Page under Device association.
Your user has is a member of both Standard CCM End Users and Standard CTI Enabled groups.
Now if you are using as softphone, the jabber client retrieves the TFTP server IP Addresses from IMP. Once it has the address, the client download the CSF config file direct from the TFTP Server.
Have you configured the TFTP Servers in IMP?
Application->Legacy Clients->Settings --- specify primary and backup tftp servers.
Exit from Jabber completely and re-login.
    See how that goes.

  • Jabber voicemail issue

When we click on the voicemail icon within Jabber, we get "You are not signed in to your voicemail account. Go to the phone accounts tab..."
When I go to File>Options>phone accounts and and enter my AD credentials for username and password, it says the username or password is not correct.
Am I entering the correct info for the username and password? Everything is sync'd with LDAP.
    Thank you.

This may not be your case, but I had this same exact issue last week and it was because the Server Admin had changed the password to the account we used as the CN in our LDAP authentication. Once I updated the password in CUC, the problem was resolved. So, doesn't hurt to ensure the credentials are still good.

  • Jabber Video Issue on Mac

I am running Jabber Video 4.6 (17194) and OS X 10.9.4.  When I installed the Jabber software, it would not recognize the built-in camera or my Tandburg HD Camera.  I have a meeting with a Client on Wednesday and this is the way that they are requesting that we communicate.  I need to figure out what is the issue.
I can get both cameras to work with Face Time.  I also have the following collboration tools loaded that do not have an issue with the cameras:
    Lync for Mac 2011 v14.0.9 (140606)
    Cisco Jabber v9.6.0 (173114)
    Assistance would be most welcome.
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
It is a known issue. It is a Bug in version 4.6.
You need to upgrade to version 4.7 or higher, just be aware that the user will be prompted to downgrade when signing in because Cisco is currently only provisioning version 4.6.3. The user should decline that :-)

  • Jabber login issue&uploading pic

I am facing issue on logging jabber into iphone
    Status always shows verify
what could be the problem can any body suggest me?
How to set a photo in jabber client?

I  was able to make this work, and it was a huge PITA.  You have to modify the XML files that Jabber uses for its configuration.  You then have to have a web server that holds all your images.  Jabber downloads them from the web server.

  • Jabber audio issue

Ok so I'm a new iMac user and until I got it, I always used the Google Talk since it has the option of talking through a mic with the people who are on my buddy list. Since I was unable to download Google Talk to my iMac, I registered my google email account to the iChat which I guess now logs me through Jabber when I'm talking to my friends who are still on Google Talk. The problem I'm having is while I'm on Jabber and iMac, they're using Windows and Google Talk so I'm not having any luck connecting via Audio Chat with them. I select their name on the Jabber list and attempt to click on "Invite to Audio Chat", that option is grayed out and I'm unable to connect with them via mic. I double checked all the options on my iChat about the audio connection and everything seams right. Am I doing something wrong?

My Understanding is that iChat can Video and Audio only chat to another iChat users with a Jabber ID (including a Google one)
The issue is then that this uses the protocols for a A/V chat.
These are the same as the AIM Buddy List uses and not the one Jabber or in fact Google uses on their applications on a PC.
Therefore you will not e able to Audio chat to a PC user via the Jabber Buddy list in iChat.

Anyone can see what is the problem from the log? Should we upload  a jabber-config.xml for remote-access  to cucm so that we can authenticate ?Or is there any other reason causing such problem?

    Hi,
I have exactly the same issue running exactly the same CUCM and CUPS versions.
I am running Expressway 8.2 and Jabber Client 9.7.4.
My log files show the same as yours, but I don't see any incorrect username or password statements.
Internally the clients work fine, externally they seem to parse both Expressway servers and returning the cups and cucm internally addresses in the log files. And then the clients responds with "Cannot communicate with the server". Logging stops.
    Anyone got any pointers?

  • Problem in Jabber Softphone (CSF)

    Hello All,
I am currently deploying Call Manager 8.6.1 with Presence 8.6.4. I managed to log in successfully into Jabber. However, I cannot activate the softphone feature. I have created CSF in Call Manager and gives the end user (which is used to log into Jabber) enough privilege (Standard CTI enabled, Standard CCM User). I received an error (refer to attached image) when I tried to login in File > Options > Phone Account.
172.25.149.47 is my Call Manager IP Address.
    Any suggestions will be welcomed.

Instead of clicking Apply, just try clicking OK, then go and check if the credentials were accepted.

  • Jabber registration issue on CCM 7.1.5

Hi Guys, I'd like to ask your valuable advice on the following:
    - we're running CCM 7.1.5(b)SU5
    - we installed the following .cop files for Android support (we tried one after the other hoping to get around the problem):
         cmterm-android_8.6.2v17.cop.sgn
         cmterm-android_8.6.2v17b.cop.sgn
         cmterm-android_9.0.1v24.cop.sgn
    - we forced the phone (Samsung Galaxy S GTi9000) to install the following Jabber client (found on CCO together with the above device files for which it should be compatible):
         Release 8.6(5) - Optimus-MR3-aligned.apk
Unfortunately we had no luck and the phone gets always the 'timeout/check network config' error.
This is what you see on CCM side:
12/07/2012 10:51:44.332 CCM|SIPStationD(7,100,169,47), BOTTEST, 10.40.251.125:40916, primaryDN=5011, Registration profile error: Error: DB Config, sending registration reject and closing station|<CLID::CCMSG-Cluster><NID::10.40.11.23><CT::0,0,0,0.0><IP::><DEV::><LVL::Error><MASK::0020>
... we followed all the Cisco guidelines to create a suitable device configuration (the same worked like a charm on CCM 8.5).
I'll attach a CCM trace showing the above error (as you may have guesses, the phone name is 'BOTTEST')
    Thanks a lot !
    - Andrea

I've been having a real fun time trying to get Jabber for Android working as well.  CUCM version 8.6.2 and Jabber 9.0.
The trick was to check the box for 'Use Fully Qualified Domain Name in SIP Requests' in the SIP profile you created for Android phones.
I was connecting to the CUCM, but then it would time out.
    Thanks,
    Richard

  • Jabber CAC issue

Does jabber for windows present CAC warnings e.g. "no bandwidth available" same as a cisco desk phone phone? or does jabber have another method or warning users of this?

    Hi all,
This is what I checked and my findings.
1.-Registered ok to the call manager.
2.-The ip that the jabber is getting is from the pc vlans no from the voice vlans.
3.-The traffic is going to a firewall, what I have here is the following question , what ports do I have to see if they are enabled or not?
    Thanks.

  • Jabber for Windows 9.2.4 deskphone/softphone no connection

I have an issue with what appears to be only my desktop.  If I am on VPN (anyconnect client) Jabber phone control and softphone works perfectly.  If I am hardwired to my ASA and coming across my L2L IPSEC tunnel IM and Presence withing Jabber works but I have a red X through the phone on my Jabber client and cannot switch to Softphone mode (option doesn't do anything when I click on it).  I have other users running the same setup and they work fine, other internal users can run Jabber without issue as well.  I have full connectivity to the IM&P and CUCM TFTP, CCMCIP, and CTI servers.  any ideas?

If you have other users on the same VPN setup, running on the same wired connection the question that comes to mind is if any PC-side firewall/HIDS exceptions didn't get opened for Jabber?

  • Jabber for Windows 9.2 deskphone control issue

    Hi experts,
I'm having a problem with the newly installed Jabber for Windows 9.2.0. When I click on the bottom right "control phone" and select my Cisco 7941 it fails. I tried restarting the Cisco CTIManager service with no luck.
    Deployment:
    IM&Presence: cloud (Webex service)
    CUCM version: 8.6(2a)
    LDAP integration: full (with authentication)
Deskphone control was working prior the upgrade of Jabber for Windows. Everything else remained the same version.
Using Jabber softphone as a client still works fine.
CUCM ENd User is correctly configured.
Wireshark trace of my Jabber for Windows 9.2 client communicating with CUCM when attempting to control my deskphone shows the following:
    Username: filippo.zangheri
Password: checked three times (it is correct because Jabber softphone works fine).
    Any hint?
    Thanks.
    Filippo

    Davide,
I know i am kind of late to the party on this one but i have fixed my issue and wanted to give you the information to see if this will work for you. If this is even still an issue?
I too had the same issue and just like you i confirmed everything was correct however I discovered something when I was looking into my End User profile on the CUCM. I had originally swapped my 7971 phone with a new 8945 phone and I had both phones associated with my line for a while before I removed the old 7971.
My End User profile still had both phones associated with my number even though the 7971 phone had been removed from my line. This was not allowing the CTI to connect to my 8945 phone or allow my jabber client to "Control Phone" properly because it couldn't figure out which phone to control. I went into the CUCM and physically deleted the 7971 phone from the system which released the associated phone in my End User profile. Once I did that, I "Control Phone" in my Jabber client and voila it worked like a charm!
To make sure I didn't have any Jabber client issues after doing this i signed out of my Jabber client and deleted the local system profile for the Jabber client and then signed back into Jabber and let it recreate the profile. Once that was done i have not had any issues with my Jabber client controlling my phone and all functions work perfectly.
    Hope this helps...

  • Free Jabber connection and stability issues

I am the video administrator for UTD and free jabber is a foundational block for our video deployment.  About a month ago we began to notice free jabber having issues connecting (signing in) and dropping calls.  Here is a summary of our findings.
    1. About 20% of our calls with free jabber are experiencing issues
    2. Calls that can't sign in recieve an "unable to register" error.
    3. Calls that have problems staying connected have very sparatic connections.  Over an hour long video conference they will stay connected for 20 seconds, then drop, then connect back for 5 minutes, then drop, then connect for 2 seconds, then drop, then connect for 30 minutes, then drop, then connect for 3 minutes, then drop, etc.
    4. Our VCS Expressway shows many different errors for the same call.  A list of the errors are "Interowrked No Permission - Insufficient privilege", "403 Forbidden", "487 Request Teminated", "Undefined reason", "Unknown reason".
We believe that the "user unable to register" is due to a maxing out of the Cisco VCS Expressway.  We believe the other issues are due to Cisco firewall mishandling the free jabber calls.  There is an open discussion with our sister sites about this issue.  We will be testing/monitoring free jabber connections over the next few weeks.  Sniffing the connection should tell us exactly what side the errors are coming from, but given that none of our other video equipment is having problems nor is our Enterprise Jabber having issues, all hands are pointing to Cisco's free jabber infrastructure not configured correctly and not being able to handle the load.
Anyone want to comment on this?
    -Brian Moore

Still seeing disconnects.  But now also testing Ipad jabber video and seeing similar issues there.  Really seems like Cisco's infrastructure can't handle the load.
    Any thoughts?
